We did not have a good experience and won't go back. We like to try smaller independent businesses. It had a great location. We had a mid-week reservation were given a key to our room and found it hadn't been cleaned from the last guest. Moved us to another room which wasn't very clean but at least the sheets were fresh. Wi-Fi and TV did not work. Front desk fixed it, they worked for two minutes then off again. Gave up after the third attempt. It's getting run down. Price is cheapish if you are on a budget. Close to good restaurants.

We stayed at Mary's Motel overnight on Canada day long weekend and the experience was quite pleasant. We stayed in the jacuzzi room which was nice but the jacuzzi could only fit one person. The beds were REALLY comfortable. The room was clean except for the hair by the drain in the jacuzzi tub. Which was not a big deal to us, but might have been to some. There was lots of parking and lots of cool thrifty little store around. I would stay again forsure.

Polite, and quick, very affordable. But… old run down, nothing works. Selkirk is a bit better for the money but they are rude and love addicts!

Although it looks like a place where horror movies are filmed, it did its purpose and is a complete 2 star motel. The room wasn't super clean, but it had cable and Wi-Fi. The bed was too soft for my liking, otherwise a decent budget motel.

Located in golden, this little motel gets the job done without being a bad experience, some bathrooms are a little older, but most are good.

Stayed here years ago and it was Ok. This time around was the worst experience my gf and I have ever had (we stay in a lot of hotels and travel this area often). The first room we were given had stains on the walls, sheets and floor. Room wasn’t vacuumed/dusted, tables had sticky spills on them and the fridge and microwave were filthy. We immediately packed our things back into the car and walked over to get a new room. The girl at the front desk was apologetic and polite and gave us a new room. This room appeared slightly cleaner but still had sticky tables and a gross coffee machine and microwave. THE WORST CAME IN THE MORNING WHEN WE WOKE UP WITH BITES ALL OVER OUR BODIES! My gf barely slept as she felt itchy and aggitated all night — we couldn’t leave fast enough. NEVER SOLICITE THIS ABOMINATION OF A BUSINESS! We even saw two younger (20’s? ) Indian or Pakistani men wearing facemaks “cleaning” the rooms in the morning as we left — they had almost 0 sanitizing supplies, no vacuums and to be honest I’ve never seen a cleaner wearing a full mask (they know how dirty their rooms are! )! I tried to share pics of our bites (over a dozen bites, at least, on each of us) but couldn’t get them to post…

Cheap and cheerful. A basic large motel with all economy-grade amenities. Warm, friendly staff. Clean, convenient. Very reasonable price. Recommended.

An outdated hotel that does the trick but isn’t much of a getaway. Good for a budget ski trip or other adventure where camping isn’t an option. Beds are old, furniture is old, towels are old, soap smells odd, but it isn’t expensive (for a tourist stop). Service was good!

People be hatin' on Mary's but for the budget traveller like myself this place is basically paradise, and is much better value than the hostels in town. I always stay at Mary's every time I stay in Golden. It's cheap, quiet, the location is great, there's a sauna and hot tub for soaking away the aches, and the beds are comfy. So what if the walls are scuffed and the decor is dated. I'd be mad about that stuff if I was paying $250/night but come on for $80 or $90 this hotel is super! My only beef is with the Wi-Fi. It ranges between being incredibly slow and totally impossible to use — needs an update FOR SURE. I love you, Mary's!

I've paid less for a much cleaner room than this. The promised AC repair did not materialize. The street is quiet.

WHOAH! I really haven't seen anyplace worse other than the Balmorale hotel on Hastings st. This place was filthy and there was stains on the carpet as well on the floors, counters, bathroom and kitchen fixtures. The first thing I noticed was the television looked as though it had been ejaculated on. We were in golden doing a job and my wife called ahead to book. The staff said that my wife mis understood when they told her that they had a single room for us. I said that's insane and I am not staying in a single room with a crew of workers. I will never stay here again and gladly I would pay more for the comfort of clean beds. Wonder how many people overdosed on the floor in that very room. Do yourself a favour and keep on driving.

We stayed in Golden in October. We found the Motel to be ok. This is a Budget Motel but has everything you need and is clean and tidy. Its central to the main part of Golden. I would certainly stay here again.

Very dirty not recommended.

The motel is old and really run down. The lack of maintenance is evident throughout the facility. The rooms seem to have been renovated sometime ago and was done on a tight budget. The free Wi-Fi is basically non existent. If you have to read an email rather make sure you have data on your mobile plan and use that. The beds were comfortable and clean. The microwave was disgusting and I had to clean it before it could be used. The outdoor swimming pool looks good but the water was just too cold to swim in. The indoor pool and bubble bath is in a dire state of repair. The chlorine smell is overwhelming but the water was a very nice temperature. Parking is ample and it is easy to get parking near your room. I don't think my stay was worth the $200 per night.

Easy to locate, walking distance to a grocer and multiple restaurants. Allowed us to cancel one of our rooms without penalty on short notice. Slept well, quiet and clean. Would stay again.

Nice and quiet Motel, the room are nice and clean. In each room there is cable TV, a small fridge, coffee machine with a full bathroom. The view from the balcony is wonderful the Rockies right beside the kicking horse path!

This place is terrible. We checked in and found a huge mound of hair in the bathtub. Brought it to the managers attention and all he offered was to have the room cleaned again. We accepted that, half hour later with no contact we realized the room had no towels. Call the front desk and was told they were to busy and they would prefer we left. Walked over to the main office, told the manager the scenario was a disgusting display and he told me was going to call the police. Honestly the worst hotel experience I have had. Good for you Mary's hotel, you are busy due to a lack of options. Personally I will stay in a different town all together moving forward rather than support such a nasty bunch. What a total let down.

LOCATION In town, so easy to find food and other amenities. Close to Highway PRICES Very reasonable compare to other places in Golden, BC STAFF Very Friendly ROOM Was Clean, Had a microwave and mini fridge. No hair dryer. Maintenance could be improved.

OMG… This is THE WORST MOTEL! Stay away! We got there and they gave us keys to a dirty room. When I called and they sent someone up, he asked us what was wrong with the room. My husband says… Well both beds have been slept in, the towels on the floor are dirty oh and the Half drank water bottles tell me it hasn't been cleaned. The guy acted like we did this. Then the new room had garbage in the can, the towels were gray and torn… Oh and the staff smelled like they had not showered in a week or more. Spend the money and go somewhere else!

Filthy motel, stopped on the way to Kelowna late at night. There was hair all over, something red all over the floor outside the bathroom the counter had not even been wiped as there was coffee stains all over it. Would of preferred to get a refund and stay in the car but the office close at night. It was still Closed when we left at 8:30am so if you needed anything you were out of luck.

Mary's is the dirtiest place, the face cloths were rags. most discusting bathroom, carpet filthy.

I'm pretty sure they never even cleaned the room! It's so dirty! Hair all over the place… the tub was filthy! There was food on the bed and on the floors. I would never stay here again even if it was $5 bucks a night.

The feel of the lobby was very zen. Unlike most the people in Canada I have met in these tourist-areas are very excited and serviceminded, always asking "how are you" as the very first thing. Not here. But it was actually nice, being from Denmark, to meet someone working in tourism taking it easy. The room unfortunately wasn't very nice. The carpet was dirty and should probably have been changed years ago. Windows were dirty and the room was just generally low quality, though for a motel I don't expect much more. Spending only one night there, I'll say that the motel is as you expect from one. There's a bed, a TV, Wi-Fi in the room. It's fine if you want to save money, and just use the room for sleeping in.

Cheap but you get what you pay for. Dirty rooms, blood stains on the comforter, busted TV remote for the 22inch crt, typical dive qualities.

The best part of this Motel is that their prices seem to be lower than their surrounding competitors. However, as to be expected, low price often means lower quality. Front desk was a young fellow, very polite and friendly, however the cleaning crew/maids all looked a little miserable and frumpy. I had a main floor king suite with a jet tub. The size was great and parking right outside my door. The bathroom was tiny and the jet tub had to be washed before I used it, even then there was still sand at the bottom of my bath. The floor around the toilet was dirty; they left a few pubes laying around the bathroom too… The room carpet was old and dirty and there was a big cut out chunk of a similar rug being used as the boot mat, which was very unattractive with the crooked cuts and frayed edges, and easy to trip on. Coffee pot worked fine. Didn't use the TV, but I'm sure it was fine. The fridge was clean and working, however the temperature nob was removed completely. Wifi worked fine. A/C worked fine. Since I'm not overly fussy and the price was right — I'd stay again but I would bring some cleaning rags and bleach to clean up / disinfect the bathroom and sink before using it, because clearly they don't.

It wasn't too bad, but for the price I'd say stay at a better hotel. The bed was comfortable, but they didn't bother to turn the heat on for our check in so the room was freezing! I turned the heat on and crawled into bed. My hubby and I both woke up in the middle of the night and it was like a sauna! Impossible to regulate the heat with the ancient and very loud radiator. The toilet also didn't flush properly.

Very old buildings, a lot has been put into updating but there is still a long way to go. Wifi provided but is painfully slow. The price point is only slightly less than other motels in town, next time I find myself in Golden I will be going to one of the others.

Arrived and reservation was not recorded, had rooms available should of been first clue. Went to room and very outdated, walls damaged, dirty and ants in room. Changed rooms a bit cleaner at least no ants, still dirty fridge not turned on, pool ice cold and indoor one dirty. Had to stay here as all other places booked. Would not stay here again.

Very nice and clean pet friendly place. Very kind staff.
