Charltons Banff

The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful. The bus passes and discounts at their sister property were great perks. The location is walkable to town. The cleaning staff for our room could use some retraining but overall a pretty good stay.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub area are clean and great to use after a full day of walking. The steam room was an added bonus. The room was very clean and the sheets smelled great. A couple of cons, no microwave in the room and no interior hallway to get to our room. However over all we had a good experience and I would definitely recommend to stay here.

The receptionist was incredibly kind and welcoming. The room was very clean, neat, and comfortable. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and had a great experience. We would definitely come back again.

Great experience! Rooms were pretty clean, shower pressure was great! Location is prime, quiet enough for night time and close enough to the downtown area. Some noise at night from the train (nothing anyone can do)

Have stayed at this place 3 times so far, and it’s been lovely. The rooms are clean, the staff is VERY accomodating. They even have remembered my name after very few interactions (Adriene). Most of all they have been accomodating with last minute circumstances regarding whether or not I will have my assistant with me for work; my assistant and I have been very happy with their service here, and will be coming back. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic! My family stayed 4 nights and a huge thank you to Oscar and the front desk team on helping make our stay even more special. The location of the hotel is great, just a short 10 min walk to the busy part of town. We found the value was amazing. Our room had two separate bedrooms with bathroom & kitchen in the middle. Most affordable accommodation on the strip. Absolutely fantastic for families and/or small groups. The hot tub was enjoyed after a long ski day. Yes, things are a little dated, but extremely clean and welcoming. Plus, you can't put a price tag on great staff. The Charltons Banff have it right!

Great location but dirty room. Big hairballs in shower and filthy wall in bathroom. Cigarette smoke coming in all night was gross. We did let front desk know and were assured it would be cleaned and it wasn't. Let them know again when we checked out and they waived parking fees. Room was also not the nice modern rooms at all. Very dated with steep spiral staircase. Disappointing stay.

The loft bedroom is stunning, with the fireplace to cozy up to made our adventure all that much more enjoyable and added a warm close to our stay. The staff are amazing and very accommodating as we booked in early with our two dogs.

Upon arrival right away we were greeted with a friendly staff, and this hotel was very accommodating with our needs, they even allowed us to check in early and check out late, which we really appreciated. The hotel is clean, staff are kind, and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. Overall, I'm surprised the reviews aren't higher because we really enjoyed our stay. The location is great, a bit further from main street downtown but still walkable everywhere. Although amenities like the pool weren’t open, it was nice to have the option to go to the two nearby hotels. Would definitely stay here again!

I was happy because they upgrade my room to Loft Suite. Place is good and I liked the parking space.
We are in the second floor. Bathroom is spacious and clean. Just ice machine not working but good thing they have a spare machine. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you Charltons Staff.

We had a king room and is it was super spacious. A lot bigger room than a lot of other Banff hotels.
Honestly, only downside is that they charge $15 a day for parking and this wasn’t clear when I booked it. Seems ridiculous!

Had a short stay at this hotel as a part of my wife and I’s honeymoon. I had seen some of the reviews previously and wasn’t sure what to expect.
Upon arrival into Banff, you’re already so enamoured by the town’s setting among the mountains that you know that most of your time is going to be spent outdoors. We have always used our hotels simply as a base, and this hotel was no different.
We were greeted and checked in with ease. The gentleman on reception was friendly and clear about the available facilities, parking charges and the purpose of the security hold.
The room itself was good; nothing like the reviews I’d read. Bed sheets were pristine and bathroom facilities were as clean as you would want them to be. We were on a room-only basis but there was a kettle and a fridge in our room so we could store any groceries we happened to pick up during our stay.
Pool and sauna facilities were available at a neighbouring hotel that I believe Charltons own, but we didn’t use these — barely had any time!
The nights were peaceful as it’s about a 10-minute walk into Banff town centre. Other guests were obviously courteous and respected the quiet hours information published in and around the hotel.
Another lady worked on the front desk also gave a fantastic recommendation for a coffee place, which became our local haunt for the duration of our stay; Whitebark Cafe, for anyone interested.

Really pleasant staff who can't help you enough. Hotel room was great with lots of space and generally clean. Some things starting to look worn but hey it's a busy place. On the whole very happy with this hotel.

Room size in the loft suite was good however the rooms are quite dated and musty and the noise from the neighbours climbing the stairs made it feel like they were in our room, disturbing sleep. Located a good 15/20 minute walk from the main town area. Pool out of order, offered next hotel to use.

Nice place with a great location on the strip! It was so easy to walk anywhere in town at this hotel! The rooms have like a rustic cabin feel which we like for the Banff area! They do come clean your room everyday which is nice for bathroom refills but I was not used to that as most hotels typically only clean upon request (we were there for only two nights), so I was a little thrown off guard. Overall, great experience!

Good location on the Main Street about 700m to the busy area. Our Suit consisted of 2 rooms with double beds connected by a kitchenette. The furniture and carpets are well worn and dated but functional. The room was well presented and clean. One room had an air conditioned the other did not which could be a problem on a hot night. Overall it was a nice stay. Parking was great at $15 per night it saved a lot of hassle.

Most comfortable experience for sleeping and showering & getting ready for the day during our holidays. I was excited to use the bikes but were all adult male sized with highly uncomfortable seats. Pool facility was in the neighbourhood in the sister hotel that we also didn’t use. The only thing they should work on and we desperately felt the need of size appropriate duvets for queen sized as it’s meant for two persons sleeping in each bed and was bit awkward to pull the blankets from each other while sleeping.
