Basecamp Suites Banff

We had a fantastic stay here. We travelled in a family of 6 adults, the beds were extremely comfortable, there was plenty of light, great views, huge kitchen, easy temperature control and a few minutes walk to Bear st and Banff ave. It was also 2 min from the IGA. All the concierges were super helpful with suggestions, bookings and kindness. Kris the manager was so friendly and helpful but so were all the wonderful concierges, couldn't ask for nicer people.
The only downside is they do not have a drying room for ski's and snowboards but they had an area at the entrance to the room that worked well. I would definitely recommend this place.

Spent the night in Banff and stayed at the Basecamp Suites Banff, check in, parking access and room access was absolutely seamless.
The suite was very nice, comfortable and clean, had a great sleep in a comfortable bed…extremely quiet hotel.
The manager was a lovely, friendly and accommodating gentleman.

One of the most comfortable sleeps I've ever had in a hotel. Pillows hold their shape and don't collapse into nothing, bed is firm and supportive but still soft on top, bedding is high quality and comfortable. No odd noises from the air conditioner/heater. No runaway temperature changes in the middle of the night making you wake up in a sweat.
These may seem like common baseline expectations, but let me tell you I've traveled for work continually for decades and out of many hundreds of rooms this is one of the very few that hit all the marks for a comfortable sleep.
Wish the shower settings would allow "scalding" and not just "hot" but that's definitely a personal preference.
Great location too within easy walking distance of everything in town. Stayed at the Fairmont up the hill a few months back, stranded away from town, and the rooms were smaller.

The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The staff and GM were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The location could not be more perfect, walkable to everything downtown. We loved our stay and hope to be back! Highly recommend for a family vacation!

Loved this stay so much. The location is perfect. Place was super clean. We made it here just in time for the snow fall and it really is magical. We paid to park is the parking garage attached to the apartments which was convenient if you plan to stay parked. 10/10 recommend. I’ll be planning another vacation here in the future.

I stayed at Banff Camp Suites for one night and was charged a 250 CAD deposit back on August 12, 2025. I was assured it would be released within 30 days for international banks, but it has now been well over 30 days and I still have not received my refund. Communication on this issue has been slow and unhelpful. While the property itself was fine, the deposit handling and customer service were disappointing.

The picture shown is pretty accurate but I have to say this place is really really basic. For example they supply bath towels but no washcloths. No blenders in the kitchen. We stayed there four nights — on the third day we were given notice that the following day the power to the entire building was shut off for four hours in the early morning — this is really bad for people that rely on power for medical devices! The flooring in the kitchen was peeling, the dishwasher tray had two brown wheels, the water heating device was broken, master bathroom fan did not work. I would not stay here again.

We had a nice stay at the Basecamp Suites and overall this seemed a pretty good choice for Banff. We had a 2 bedroom room for a couple +1. The rooms and bathrooms were a little small but the apartment was otherwise well equipped and everything was in working order. Great central location. The price seemed extremely high, but this seems pretty par for the course when it comes to Banff, especially during peak periods. Also, the parking was hugely expensive; again seems par for the course in Banff. There is a ramp attached to the hotel, but it is not run by them and doesn't allow multiple entry so if you can avoid having to park here do so.

This was practically one of the best places we've ever stayed. It's spacious, very clean, beautifully decorated and in a perfect location. It has full kitchen if you are willing to cook. I can't really think of anything else we would need from a place to stay. It's 5 minutes walk to all kinds of restaurants and major tourist area of Banff. Front desk employee (we only met one), she was very professional, helpful and friendly.

We had such a wonderful stay at Basecamp Suites! From the moment we booked, everything was seamless—accessing our two-bedroom unit was easy with door codes emailed ahead of time, and the front desk staff was kind and attentive throughout our stay.
The accommodations felt fresh, modern, and incredibly comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pull-out couch in the unit—which wasn’t advertised—and it gave us extra room to spread out. Even the living room was larger than expected and not fully shown in the photos, which made the space feel more open and homey. On top of that, the views from our unit were absolutely stunning.
The location can’t be beat. We were steps from great restaurants and the grocery store, which made everything super convenient. The well-stocked kitchen was a huge bonus—it allowed us to enjoy easy breakfasts at “home” and keep our farmers market finds fresh.
Just a heads-up: there’s no daily housekeeping service, so it functions more like an Airbnb than a traditional hotel. That wasn’t a downside for us, just good to know in advance.
We checked out the hot tubs, which were clean, but located at the top of a parking deck—definitely a unique spot, and we didn’t end up using them.
Overall, we were very comfortable, appreciated all the thoughtful touches, and would 100% stay here again.

My husband and I enjoyed the location and cleanliness of the room! It was also spacious, and we appreciated the cooking equipment in the kitchen. Also appreciate the hotel's eco-friendly housekeeping policies.

The best location! Perfect space for our family of 4. You can walk out the door and reach all of downtown within 10 minutes. We also snagged groceries next door and cooked dinner in full kitchen one night. I highly recommend. The space is tight, but very clean and updated. Just what we needed.

Can’t really rate service since you don’t actually see anyone from the time you check in until you leave. It’s more like an Airbnb experience. You’re given a code to get into your room about an hour before check in.
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We were really happy with the location as well.
We had the suite with 2 bedrooms. I’ll definitely stay there again.

Very nice place located right in the downtown Banff, very close to Main Street and Bow river walking trail. Very clean, and looks recently renovated.
The apartment had fully equipped kitchen, so you can make your own breakfast. And we definitely enjoyed the roof hot tubs with great mountains view!

Mixed experience at Basecamp.
Positives: spacious interior and good location (but you absolutely pay for it; we booked a 3 bedroom for 6 people)
Negatives: no service at all; no help to answer questions or provide amenities during the stay. Everything is self help / self service.
This property is at most a glorified airBnB charged at 5 star hotel prices. Do not expect any service. There is absolutely no cleaning during your stay, not even periodic takeout of trash or refill of towels.
There is no front desk service. There is someone sitting at the front desk during work hours, but she will not assist you with luggage, or help you open the door (even when she sees you struggling with opening the door while maneuvering the luggage), or answer any questions outside of what’s available in the website FAQ (will tell you to text a number who also only give canned answers). I think this might be because these are all seasonal workers so no one bothers to try very hard to make sure customers have a good stay.
There is no real amenities, not even one set of bottled waters to start, which is disappointing for this price point.
You have to start the dishwasher and clean up the room before leaving. They literally have a sign that they will fine you if you don’t do this. Of course this is just a sign on the fridge. Staff at front desk did not remind you at check in.
The jacuzzi photos are misleading. You will be soaking next to the rooftop parking lot. Not comfortable at all.

This was perfect for two couples, the two bedroom apartment was clean and comfortable and well stocked.
Couldn’t ask for a better location, right in the heart of Banff. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
Loved the lemongrass toiletries.

Great location and clean! Would definitely stay here again! We had a 3 bedroom with 4 adults and 1 child and it was plenty of room for us for our spring skiing vacation.
