Banff Aspen Lodge

Perfect place for mountain sports enthusiasts! The staff is super kind and helpful, and they offer secure board storage. You can leave your boards there overnight and grab them in the morning before hitting the slopes, very convenient.
Breakfast is very filling, giving you plenty of energy to start the day right. After a long day on the slopes, relaxing in the jacuzzi is amazing. Sooo relaxing!
The location is great, close to restaurants and board-tuning shops. The rooms are quiet and spacious, and the showers are perfectly hot (I like them hell-level hot 😄) and roomy.
Highly recommend!

I loved this place. I enjoyed the hot tub every night, and the breakfast was excellent. Our family room was especially well designed—the bathroom is centrally located, creating two separate sleeping areas with a king bed on one side and two single beds on the other. This layout gave my kids and me privacy without disturbing one another. We stayed from Monday to Friday and had no trouble finding a covered parking spot, though it does get busier on the weekends. We are likely to come back next year.

We stayed here in December with another family.   The hotel was such a great distance to downtown, easy to walk everywhere and easy to catch the bus when we visited Banff Springs one evening.   The layout of the hotel was quite neat, and we LOVED our family rooms — two single beds, then a bathroom with two separate vanities outside of the toilet/shower area, and then a queen bed in a separate area with seating area.   We played cards one night and fit 7 of us around the table (with extra chairs from their room).   The large hot tub was really nice and actually really hot, so it was easy to sit outside while it snowed.   There was also a second smaller hot tub and saunas that we didn't try.   Finally, the breakfast was a surprise for us as well, lots of options for a free breakfast.   I appreciated not having to pay for parking as well.   We will be back.

Our accommodation was truly amazing. Having a separate lounge room was a bonus. The spa was amazing after a big day out. Mr Coldplay Joel was wonderful. He was very friendly, loved singing which made my day. We will definitely stay there again.

Location is a solid 5/5 — close to everything we needed and super convenient for exploring Banff.
As a couple traveling on a budget, we found the price very reasonable, almost comparable to the nearby hostel, which made the comfort and quality here feel like an even better value.
Special shoutout to their toilet amenities — they smelled so good they actually made us walk into the Rocky Mountain Soap store afterward and buy things we definitely didn't need (lol). No regrets though!
The breakfast was superb, delicious, fresh, and a perfect start to our days.
Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely stay here again!

Every detail of this hotel is thoughtfully designed and professionally carried out by kind staff. The front desk clerk welcomed us at midnight and allowed us to check a room before booking. The room is thoughtfully laid out and the bed comfortable enough even for a side sleeper.
Breakfast includes house made breads, oatmeal, and hot items, as well as a European style assortment of meats and cheeses.
Ventilation is a bit loud but keeps the room comfortable and not stuffy, and there is a small table for those who need to work.
The chemically sensitive know how valuable a fragrance-free hotel is, and this one is an oasis! The lobby, restaurant, and rooms are impeccably clean and smell like NOTHING, and the linens are laundered in fragrance-free detergent. The soaps in the dispensers are scented with essential oils.
Did I mention the lovely sauna and heated pool? This lodge is an absolute treasure. Our family will plan future visits to Banff with the Banff Aspen Lodge as our base, and we are recommending it to our MCS network.

This lodge is ideally located, with complimentary parking behind the building, making arrivals and departures very convenient. Dining options nearby were plentiful, allowing us to choose wherever we wished for dinner. The only minor drawbacks were that the hot tubs had a noticeable level of chemical smells, similar to most indoor pools, and the steam room felt slightly dated with a mild odor.
That said, we greatly appreciated the efficiency and attentiveness of the housekeeping team, who refreshed our rooms each morning while we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast downstairs. Every member of the staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming. We look forward to returning.

We had a great stay, it was a family holiday with 7 of us and we could not recommend enough. Location is perfect, 5 minute walk in to the heart of Banff Town, nice and modern with beautiful views looking out off the balcony. Both spas are such a great touch, breakfast was great had everything you needed. Overall we had a great stay and would 100% return.

Great hotel with everything you need to start your day. Lots of families when we visited although nothing terrible, there was a loud group of teenagers in the pool. I do wish there was a bit more control on the sound, but maybe I’m just getting old. Overall we’ve been here twice now and enjoy it every time as a local of Calgary.

Stayed one night. Everything was great. Updated clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Loved the hot tubs and saunas and robes. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we've had, with wonderful service. Used the underground parking. Good location. And all for a very good price. We will be back, and reccomend highly. Did not get to try the cafe, but looked good and was busy. Economy room was just a bed and bathroom but perfect for us. Felt safe and close to everything.

I recently completed a several day stay at this hotel and it is one of the best experiences I have had (and I have stayed at everything from hostels, budget accom and fancy hotels). The location and amenities are outstanding but I would honestly say that the biggest compliment that I can give is that the staff are exceptional! It is probably the first hotel that I have ever stayed at where I feel genuinely welcomed and VALUED! The staff are accommodating, friendly, and incredibly hard working. This hotel and their management could certainly teach other hotels how to do it. The only reason I left a 4 out of 5 on the room was storage… the rooms could definitely use some increased storage, or even several areas of hooks for hanging things up. Between winter paraphernalia, bathing suits, towels and daily clothes… it was a bit challenging to hang things up even with only 2 people in a 4 person room. But this is really a minimal issue. The quality of the food, steam room, hot tub, general cleanliness and coffee shop are exceptional, even parking. Both myself and companion just felt that at every turn they stepped up their game in comparison to other accommodations. Well done and I will be back!

Relaxing stay in a fantastic location.
We loved the location and the amazing spa-like amenities — two hot tubs, a eucalyptus steam room, and a sauna made for such a relaxing experience. The breakfast was outstanding and a real highlight of our stay. The room was on the smaller side and could use a refresh, and parking was a bit limited, but overall, it was a wonderfully rejuvenating experience.

Great location! Smells great and the room is spacious and luminous. We have a great view and are very happy with the included breakfast and parking. We just arrived and Amaro went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. I can’t wait to try out the heated outdoor pool!

The room we stayed in is spacious, with a layout that feels like a room in room. The washroom between the 2 bed areas provides privacy for each, which is a nice feature. The 2 outdoor hot tubs are nice, and you can enjoy stargazing at night. The hotel also offers a generous breakfast. The overall value for the cost is excellent.
The staffs are very helpful and polite. In addition, the location is convenient and close to shops and restaurants.
I will definitely stay at this hotel the next time I visit Banff.

Great location for wandering! The room was very comfortable and the studio set-up was very nice for early morning quiet time. The soap/shampoo were wonderful! Breakfast was very nice. Rotated sausage or bacon every day, as were the breads and muffins. Staff was very friendly and helpful! We will stay again!

Our stay did not begin well as we were shown a downstairs room that was dark with the lights on even on a sunny day. The manager basically said we should know the hotel layout and request a room higher up. All I asked for was a room like in the picture for the room I booked online, not an unreasonable request. We were eventually changed and the room we moved to was much better. It was spacious and did have an outside view that was reasonable. I thought this hotel was way over priced and double what we paid in Calgary and treble what we paid in Whistler. Both of those hotels were superior to this but I guess that is supply and demand. Breakfast was fine and the staff were good, can't quite figure how people say free breakfast when the room price is so high. Quality of breakfast was adequate and choice fine. Everything in the room was at a minimum for toiletries etc but decoration was good.

Banff Aspen Lodge exceeded all our expectations! We were greeted with a very warm welcome from Joel on the front desk and he was helpful throughout our 4 night stay, always with a smile and sense of humour. It was a shame we did not get to thank him as he was not working the day we checked out. The breakfast was great considering it is “continental” as there’s also a few hot options. The outdoor hot pool, cold plunge pool, sauna and steam room were an added bonus and we used the facilities everyday. The room was spacious, with a comfy bed and great shower with gorgeous Rocky Mountain products. We will definitely be back!
