Mercure Perth

Not the best, not the worst. Staff are warm and friendly, the valet service is great and the food is ok. However they don't collect room service plates from the door in a timely manner, saw someone's order sitting at their door for nearly 2 days, mine sat at my door from 6pm one night to 6pm the next. Rooms are bit chilly in the winter.

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel is very outdated and poorly maintained. The room felt dirty and cheap, and the shower was in terrible condition, with noticeable chips and damage to the bath. And not to mention the bath was very slippery. Not the best when you have kids. Also we reserved the room for a family of four, yet we were only provided with 2 large towels, very frustrating.
To make matters worse, when we returned to the hotel that evening to shower our children, there was no hot water. The staff failed to mention this issue when we dropped our car keys off for the car to be parked. It was only raised when I brought it up at checkout the following morning, and the response was “We thought the water problem had been resolved, but it turns out it hadn’t. We have someone fixing it now. ” "Can I offer you a coffee? "
That is simply not acceptable, for the price we paid we could have stayed somewhere far more comfortable, cleaner and better maintained.
The Mercure felt more like a motel than a hotel. Needless to say, we will not be returning nor recommending.

Property is definitely aged and in need of renovation. My first room, a Classic Twin, was very basic. Small table barely big enough for a laptop, hard static chair, no coffee machine. Would have been ok for a budget traveler for a night or two, but as I was staying a week I requested to change rooms and the front desk were very amenable. My 2nd room, a Privilege Room in the East Tower, was better but was the standard I was expecting from the room I had booked. The room had several maintenance issues and some surfaces had a fair amount of dust. I sure these rooms were once nice, but now in desperate need of renovation.
Location was great, a short walk into the city. There's an awesome place for breakfast just over the road.
The gym facilities were aged but functional. Sadly I didn't have time to try the pool, but it appeared to be heated.
I would stay again if traveling on a budget, or only staying for 1 night.

We recently held an event at the Mercure and couldn't be happier with the experience. Gemma was fantastic from start to finish: organised, responsive and nothing was ever too much trouble. Chloe also did a great job on the night. The whole team was professional and a pleasure to work with. We'll absolutely be back for future events and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Check in was from 2pm, arrived at 3pm and waited in a que from the bar area so took more than 35 mins to get checked in, room was ok, bath had a chunk out of it, there was a panel hanging loose on the sink bulkhead, fridge had broken shelving door side and barely enough coffee / sugar sachets supplied. Have stayed here a few times before but standards have clearly dropped since last visit.

You can stay at motels far nicer than this place. Extremely outdated and not maintained. Our room was not properly cleaned when we arrived, there was dirty brown liquid drops on the bathroom door, no body soap, curtains not properly hooked up, I can forgive the odd cockroach but the amount I saw on the 13th floor was very off putting. Very run down, 4 stars maybe when it was first built but certainly not now. They did offer to clean the room but it could only be done so before a certain time when the cleaning staff are on and my partner was sleeping, but it should honestly be clean to start with for a “4 stars” hotel — no sorry from staff — stay literally anywhere else.

My review is mostly about Dushan the lovely staff member who took great care of us at reception! Dushan really assisted us with parking and checking our group into our rooms and provided extensive information for our needs. He welcomed us with very warm welcomes and really went above and beyond to cater for our needs. Thanks so much Dushan!

The location and room size were the only satisfactory aspects of my stay. Beyond that, the overall service delivery fell significantly short of expectations. There were no basic amenities provided — no bottled water, toiletries, or even bathroom slippers. What was more disappointing was that our used towels from the previous night were simply refolded and placed back in the bathroom instead of being replaced. There was also no on-site parking, which meant incurring additional costs at Wilson Parking over a two-night stay. While this was my first time staying in a hotel in Perth, the experience was far below what I’d consider acceptable, and I would not recommend this property based on my stay.

The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was well thought out as it had more variety than I have seen elsewhere. The bathroom in our room was very dated and leaking so this gave me concerns about mould although I didn’t see any. The room itself was practical and clean. Overall it was a positive experience.

I was allocated on the fifth floor. The room is spacious, has a bar fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. A safe is also provided. The TV is one of the biggest I have seen in a hotel. Thick curtains to block out sun light. One chair, table and a single seater leather chair. Tea, coffee and kettle is also provided. Everything is within walking distance.

A last minute trip across to Perth resulted in low availability of hotels and Mercure Perth was one of the only Accor Group options. Being an Accor+ member usually comes with good service and a nice welcome, but not here.
At check in there was no conversation, just a room key with no explanation of any hotel amenities. Upon prompting for advice on the parking availabilities, the staff member referred me to a sheet of paper and stated she had no idea of any prices even though: 1. She works there and probably explains parking options multiple times a day. 2. Prices were actually printed on the sheet.
The room was good and the bed was comfortable. Although a refresh does seem due… No bathroom amenities were provided (except standard soap/shampoo/conditioner). The shower soap was completely empty.
The ladies at check out didn’t seem interested and there was no conversation. The second staff member was showing the person serving me something on their phone during this process.
Overall, no engagement with guests.
I did receive a complimentary bottle of wine delivered to the room as a gold Accor member, however it’s hard to increase a hotels rating because of that as it is generally a perk at every Accor hotel.
Improvements are definitely needed.

Very interesting that this hotel is 4-stars. Would urge the Mercure management to have a look and QC. It feels like the staff weren’t paid enough or. Heard many complains of not getting things fixed or changing the sheets of the room. The hotel is in need of refurbishment, everything feels so dated. The good thing is that the location was great. Over the nights, there were people shouting downstairs on one night and one protest with drumming on another. The toilet in the lobby is the best.

Recently stayed here and was absolutely applaud when I got a phone call just as I landed saying they needed my room I booked and paid for which was a double classic queen. There so called upgrade was to a 2 bedroom apparent that was so old! Very dark and uninviting. I complained and made it very clear that I'm not staying in that room and wanted my original booking back. Which took a bit of effort for them to adhere to after I demanded it. Then was placed in a room right under the gym. Thank god for ear plugs. Room service was terrible and not topping up on coffee, tea or sugar.
Step in shower in a bath! Ridiculous for someone who is short.
Definitely not worth the money I paid for 6 days.

Hello, we stayed for my birthday but didn’t have a great experience as property needs some love as phone wasn’t working in the Room, I had to call from my phone twice as ordered dental kit but didn’t arrive for 30 mins, one of the table boards fell on my feet as I moved the chair to sit, bathroom door wasn’t closing properly. I did inform the reception while checking out too few of these isssues. Also breakfast was very average to be honest as compare to other accor properties where we stayed, no omelettes, fruits weren’t fresh and flies were on top. I would prefer Novotel way better than Mercure stay. Sorry but that’s my honest opinion and hope it helps improving few things.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay. While the outdated bathroom could be overlooked, the layout was completely impractical. Showering caused water to spread across the entire floor, failing to drain properly through either of the outlets. This meant stepping out of the bathroom just to dry my feet, and if I needed to return, I had to dry the floor first, wear shoes, or accept wet feet again.
Additionally, the bathroom door was poorly positioned, it closed onto the basin, with towels stored behind it, making access difficult. Retrieving a towel or floor mat required stepping into the shower, closing the door, and then reaching for them. Even when a floor mat was placed, the door would push it away due to lack of space, making it frustrating to exit.
Beyond the bathroom issues, the coffee was terrible, and the exterior windows clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. As for the breakfast, $32 was far from worth it, I would have gladly spent that money elsewhere had I known.
I will not be returning, and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere, as far better options are available.

I had a pleasant stay at Mercure Perth. The location was excellent—within walking distance to key attractions and very convenient for getting around. Overall, everything was good and the staff were friendly. The only downside was that the bed and pillows were a little too soft for my comfort. Otherwise, a great stay!

Our experience was great! The rooms are clean and tidy, comfy beds. Room service was punctual and food was nice, the buffet was great with multiple options, can be a little crowded during peek times which is to be expected. The only thing I have to fault is the pressure in our shower, we were only staying for 2 nights so didn't really bother bringing it up at the time as it wasn't a major issue.
