We stayed 2 nights in Penthouse 125 it was a lovely room.
this hotel close to many facilities including hairdresser. Also lots of cuddles with the family puppy.

Beautiful spot… I definitely reccomend.

The rooms are very clean, and there are easily accessible ground-floor rooms with walk-in showers (which come with complementary shampoo, conditioner and body soap).
My family and I have found that both of the rooms that we have stayed in have been tidy, clean, very warm and there is no noise pollution from the road/cars or other rooms.
The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained, there is parking right outside reception and further parking around the corner.
There is an on-sight restaurant/cafe which is absolutely wonderful and the main benefit we found was that the Colonial is one of the very few hotels in Launceston that are locally-owned.
There is a beautiful dog (Lincoln) who is more than happy to have a pat, and the owner and staff are all very friendly and accommodating. We found that the owner is more than willing to help if there are any issues with a room and is very cheerful.

TV didn't work. One mug for 3 guests for coffee in our room. Asked for wheelchair room no rail near the toilet very difficult for my sister to use without help.
Stairs to the restaurant for our meal. Were misled by staff who told us on booking that it was a handicap room.

Competitively priced, comfortable and rooms are of an adequate size. Reception friendly and helpful.

The rooms were clean and quite spacious. Food was great but the best part of staying here was how good the service was.

I can not recommend the Colonial Motel in Launceston highly enough. The building has been tastefully renovated and the fresh colour scheme of the exterior compliments its heritage style beautifully.

Nothing wrong with the hotel itself but the owner and the manager are rude and too stupid to have learnt that the guest is the most important person in the hotel. Failed to fix a broken toilet so we had to try and sleep with the smell of our waste, refused to admit responsibility for that or my partner’s illness after eating in their restaurant, the manager refused to speak with me about the issues then or when I repeatedly called after we left and later, when we complained to the people that organised our Tassie holiday, repeatedly tried to blame us. Unbelievable!

Beautiful accomodation. Great history of the building. Warm welcoming staff. Absolutely in love with the place.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was modern, clean and well priced.

We didn't stay here accommodation but went to their Three Steps bar attached settled in there for happy hour by the fire then had a fantastic dinner and settled in for the night. This historic building had convict thumb prints in the bricks. Couches to sit and relax pool table and gorgeous bar. The food comes from next door at the hotel easily and hot there are probably venues with longer hallways so this is not a problem. Enjoy your visit you may need to book as we couldn't get in again.

Room was great but worst customer service and meal ever, do not ever order room service at this place, even after I complained I got brushed off. When you order a steak medium, you expect it to be medium or even on tge rare side but no this was raw and cold in the middle, this is coming from someone who eats steak blue, and to top it off I am given a bread and butter knife to cut it. Absolute disgrace. The one star is so I can comment. M.

Arrived late, but that didn't seem to fuss the staff, everything was ready. Comfortable room with everything in it, including a small balcony. Was on the 2nd floor and needed to carry my back up 2 flights which was ok, but I could imagine it being a difficulty for others. Stay was all too short.

My partner and I stayed in this fabulous hotel in November. It has classic old charm features with immaculately kept amenities. The dining areas are beautiful and the staff are friendly and professional. The history around this hotel is a story in itself. I met the owner Dale while having breakfast and enjoyed a chat and a quick history tour with him. 10 out of 10 for this hotel. Great job Dale, certainly coming back to stay.

Comfy rooms, nice buffet breakfast and great location. A great place for a traveller to rest their weary head.

Rooms were old but nice. Restaurant meals delivered with room service were very good.

The sheet was stained so have to ask for changeing them, some towels has staine too! old plumbing system it noisy and shaking in middle of night it wakes up us few times.

Supposed to be 4.5 stars, when you look at booking the photos are of a colonial building, reality is a 70s, 80s built Motel building, staying on 3rd floor no lift, so carry my bags 3 floors, the room is 90s finish, at best a motel room, no plates or cutlery, sorry got one teaspoon, Windows won't close, toilet seat spends most of its time on the floor. Wasn't cheap either. Not happy jan!

I have stayed here previously, most recently a fortnight ago. Had no issues. Attempted to book for a night in April next year for an AFL game at the advertised bed and breakfast rate of $139. They then advised me that as this is an event weekend, their best rate was $200 and didn’t include breakfast. Not likely to stay here again.

Friendly Attentive staff. Will stay here next time I come to Launceston.

Great place away from home all amenities here family getaway or just a couple has the best restaurant Tasmania has to offer. Room service was excellent gym and free Wi-Fi facilities top class bar plenty of parking. Work or holiday this is the place to be. 205

Attended for breakfast. Great selection. Live the pancake maker. Polite friendly staff.

Good location, clean. Beds on the soft side so depends on what your preference. Comfortable for som overnight stay.

Last minute late night booking due to flight cancellation. Check in was quick and easy. Room was quite spacious, lots of amenities, and clean.

My partner and I stayed at the Quality Hotel Colonial Launceston last night. We were very impressed with the large spacious room, free onsite parking and free Wi-Fi.
We had dinner at the onsite restaurant — 3 Steps last night also, and we were highly impressed with the quality of the meals.
I would highly recommend staying here, its close to town and everything is within walking distance.

Clean, tidy and execellent hotel with a unique fashioned classy rooms and restaurant. Blessed with experienced and supportive staffs. Without any shadow of doubt, the best one in the city.

Hotel is classy… great ambience. Had really good experience. Well the hotel is situated in heart of Launceston city. I recommend hotel colonial, if someone is searching for 'best hotel' in Launceston.

Clean, well presented, spacious. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast selection (continental) good.

Staff were accommodating and helpful. Room was clean. Close to shops and food.

A nice historical building (the check kn building). The room is spacious and the amenity is nice. Check in router close at 11pm though.
