Absolute rubbish.
stayed here a few years back and stayed in the apartment.
We found the room un cleaned and mold in bathroom.
when we went to sleep we seen mice running over the benches.
we explained this to the receptionist the next morning who apologized and arranged our refund.
I called today to book again and was stuffed around by staff when finally a person who identified themselves as the manager told me that our booking wouldn't be welcome.
absolutely disgusting customer service and filthy dirty rooms. Do your self a favor and book elsewhere. You can keep deleting my reviews but I will keep posting until I get an apology.

Great team, hospitality is A grade and couldn't be more pleased with how the place was kept clean and tidy throughout our stay.

We just had the most amazing three night stay. Super super clean one of the best showers I've ever had. Food was amazing the staff were super friendly and made us feel very very welcome. Thanks heaps for the staff and management for an amazing stay.

The Statesman Hotel is the usual Australian urban pub. It's comfortable and clean, and the beer is cold and the patrons are friendly. I haven't tried the Statesman counter meals but the menu looked good. I'll head back there soon for a meal and a beer and time with friends. It's good to have a 'local' again.

Not overly impressed with this place. The staff on the reception desk are courteous and the bar staff are ok too. The evening country style singer is bad, and its questionable whether it is really him singing. The guy who takes the orders for the meals is sour faced and excessively rude. It is obvious he hates his job.

Had a great experience there, although a bit old and needing a new coat of paint, the service was great with staff going above and beyond to be friendly and helpful and the general offering was great. When considering a hotel three things weight the most for me: how clean it is, how good is the shower and how good is the bed. The Statesman got 5 stars in all, good sheets, multiple pillows with varying densities to choose from the shower was spacious and with good water pressure and as far as I could see the room and the shared areas were well clean.

Wow! We were blown away with your accommodation. We stayed in your 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. Super clean and comfortable. Rooms were cozy warm and the Kitchen was well equipped. Food at the hotel was great, would love to see more of your delicious curry dishes on the menu. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great place to stay in. There is a restaurant on premises and a bar. With in walking distance of Coles and a gym. Also other services.

All staff are very nice, full of service mind and so friendly. The room are cleaned. Very satisfied and impressed.

Good location, close to shops and reasonably central, but the rooms are small and dated. No electric blankets. No overhead lighting — only bedside lamps and a light over the mirror — so too dark for any work or reading. Oversoft pillows. Secure parking, but not enough and spaces too small for large vehicles. Restaurant is actually the pub bistro, and no other dinner options nearby. Bistro meals were good and room service was available. Coles supermarket close by. A couple of good coffee shops close by for breakfast. Overall, adequate but not flash.

2nd time ive stayed here and the 1st time with my family and it was extremly comfortable.
On a very cold Canberra day we walked into a toastie warm room.
Plenty of coffee/sugar/milk and milo in the room.
The only minor concern was the main bed was broken.
The food we had delivered to the room by the adjoining restaurant was absolutely beautiful and very filling.

The rooms are looking a bit run down and start to look like they need a bit of TLC. Tried to book room service twice first time took awhile but second one was on a Saturday and they had some function on so they took the phone off the hook and I had to go down and order food so just be aware on busy days. Rooms are ok clean and tidy just need a lick of paint in some places and secure parking is good. Good location for sightseeing.

Feels like a converted hospital — cold and unwelcoming. Listing warned that there were no stairs but didn't realise how many there would be. Wi-Fi didn't work (despite the receptionist "restarting the router" at least three times). Cups in room were dirty. Beds were comfortable and shower was fairly powerful but unfortunately those are the only two good points we can say.

Nice and clean hotel rooms. Fantastic pressure in the shower. Meals downstairs great. Steak was perfect.

Renovated rooms, good parking. Fire alarm went off in the morning due to some problems which we don't know was one of the problems we had there. Close to the centre of town and restaurants. Recommended for family with kids. Laundry available.

For the price we paid, it's a great hotel. In the best condition but was very clean, good beds, good shower and enough goodies to keep you going overnight. Wi-fi did not for me. Tiny toilet. Good location — only 7 minutes to the zoo and arboretum. The family loved the cooked breakfasts.

Great place, friendly staff, great food, nice clean cold beer! I highly recommend anyone to stay there! Coles is just across the street walking distance, chemist, vet & a few other stores.

Fantastic stay here. Welcoming and incredibly generous, with lovely clean rooms. Highly recommend this place for a very comfortable and homely stay, away from home. Very helpful and thoughtful staff, with amazing manager Michelle — willing to go above and beyond. Had an upgrade to a beautiful suite and accommodated us to fit an extra friend in at the last minute. Nothing was too much trouble. Stay here — you won’t be disappointed! Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely make this the place of choice for Canberra in the future.

Family room with twin and single bed was slightly small, but definitely fine for the low price. Weekend breakfast was only from 8am onwards, which was too late for us. Wi-Fi didn't work.

Absolute best Filet Mignon I’ve had in Canberra plus a fantastic casual pub vibe despite the surprisingly gourmet food constantly arriving at the tables. There is a reasonable selection of beers but if you’re looking for anything crafty, or just not a big market beer, you’ve come to the wrong place. Definitely worth the time spent, I highly recommend it as a once a week visit for those living in the Woden/Weston region, for an easy, relaxed and authentic hotel pub feel. Fantastic.

Terrible! 2 bedroom family room with bunk beds, it seemed only the main room got cleaned up, the bunk beds sheet did not get changed and were sticky to sleep on, might have fleas too! 2 kids and 2 adults who lived in the bunk bed room had to use the spare blanket for the night as the sheet felt so sticky and fleas running over the body. My arm pit felt itchy the whole day after checked out from there!

Good for a short stay. A quiet suburb but close enough to city centre. Spacious and clean rooms.

Pleasant place for a catch-up with some long time friends. Very tasty lamb curry with a nice level of heat. Others very pleased with the various pies and salad.

The Statesman hotel is old faithful. Sort of smells like old faithful too… Has had an update a few years ago, is clean and reasonably priced. Not the Ritz but not the pits…

Good accomodation, good price and convenient location. We have stayed here a few times and been down to the hotel for a few meals. Beer is great, nice and cold, food is not so great. Eaten here a few times but probably never will again. Pizzas are over priced and very average. Not really nice at all. Other food is basic and over priced. This would be a great place if you could replace kitchen staff and find someone who could cook.

Great staff, very cheerful and helpful. If you have a problem they make sure so solve it quickly. The room was cosy and comfortable. Plenty of space and great, clean amenities and rooms. The only thing I think would be great as many others have also noted down, more easy access to power points for charging phones, cameras and other power/ USB devices. They provide free Wi-Fi and secure parking. The pub/bistro is also nice and relaxed. Bar staff are helpful and cheerful. Food is good and for the first time I have ever had a chicken schnitzel served with seafood. A kind of surf and turf chicken style. I had my doubts but it was well cooked and presented. Chicken was not over cooked and was juicy inside, seafood was fresh and well cooked as well. Bar also serves pints, always a bonus! This is the second time my partner and I have stayed at this hotel and it has been great and enjoyable. Close to everything, Coles, post office, liquor store. Also short drive to Woden Westfield and the Royal Australian Mint (Definite must see, with free tours twice a day. ), Short drive to Canberra city and other great Canberra locations. Will definitely stay again. I wouldn't say it is not the best place to stay in Canberra, however for the price, can't go wrong.

Old, but with great staff. Spelling mistake in the outside signage doesn't raise the tone, unfortunately. With some money spent on a decent face-lift, the valuable location benefits to a wider market could be phenomenal.

Pretty ordinary food, but good atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend pizza. But well priced and good, fast service. Feels like it needs a makeover.

Functional rooms with everything u need in a day or two. No kitchen, Oven was provided on request. Helpful staff. Secure parking. Near to Local market, fuel station. Recommended.

Rooms good, 3 stars down for the bistro however. As far as overly large cheap chicken nuggets go, not bad. Its just that I ordered a shnitzel not a defrosted minced chicken slab that's way too uniform :/

Amazing place to stay when visiting Canberra. Curtin is a lovely neighbourhood, Coles is downstairs, along with a couple of bottle shops. Reception is lovely. Housekeeping every morning. Nice amenities and rooms. Close to Eddison Skate Park. Will visit again.

Great room, comfy bed and beautifully warm. Staff very friendly and helpful. And as for the bistro food, I am still making happy noises over my T-bone reef and beef. For non drivers it was easy to negotiate the buses from just over the road. Will be back.

Went in for lunch. Food was ok but server was surly and unwelcoming.

We booked over the phone and they were happy to match the online booking price. Upon arrival, everything was already filled out we checked in within a minute. The room was clean and fairly spacious for the price. Excellent value for money. Will definitely stay again if I am coming back to Canberra.

This hotel is close to the city and attractions The rooms are clean and spacious. We ate at the hotel and the food was nice. Having the free Wi-Fi and secure parking was a bonus. I would stay at this hotel again.

They don't allow minors to watch tv.

Venus 2 duo stayed here. Great accommodation, Paid for standard room and was upgraded to spacious room with balcony. Clean, comfortable, good position, nice helpful staff, lock up carpark. Standard rooms are just as good only slightly smaller. I would recommend this motel. Rooms are exactly as pictured.
