Booked room through website, arrived only to be turned away as apparently they discriminate against people who are not vaccinated. This information was not on the website or in confirmation email when booked. Reception staff rude and unhelpful. Was turned away with my child with Autism with no apology or help to find alternate accommodation. After all the times we have stayed in the past this is very disappointing.

2bedroom apartment that we were given which was booked 2 weeks in advance through booking. Com was not like the pictures. Some apartments are refurbished ours certainly wasn’t. Sent a polite email with no response. They place was smelly and very unhygienic.

Just want to give a big 5 star to Forrest hotel. From the seamless check in and right through our stay the accomodation and setting was wonderful. We hired 3 two bedroom apartments for an extended family stay which was perfect for our needs. Apartments were really well appointed which was fantastic as we had all travelled from interstate. Importantly in a pandemic rooms were wonderfully clean. Thanks to all staff for a great job.

Our family really loved staying at the apartments at Forrest hotel and apartments. The staff were very friendly and the place looked like it was newly renovated with very good appliances! very clean and we liked that we had the ground floor unit of the apartments so our kids could run around near the BBQ area. You can tell the kids felt at home when they placed all the things they brought along neatly on the shelves in the room. Will recommend and come back again.

Would not recommend at all. Decor was dated and old, walked in and the room smelt musty and stale. Mould in the shower. Uncomfortable bed so had a dreadful nights sleep. Had to pay a $200 bond as well as room payment, which 5 days later still isn’t back in our account. Photos of the rooms are very different to how the rooms actually are. Only positive was the location. Definitely will not stay again!

Very nice apartment I enjoy it alot and the restaurant is nice friendly staff and very nice assistant they deserve 5 starthank you and see you again.

My family and I stayed in a two bedroom apartment it was great, had everything that we needed. Apartment was clean and well set out. Staff at reception were friendly and gave good service. Hotel is within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

The bathroom was tiny, couldn’t turn around in the shower, limited water pressure.
Stains in carpet, very noisy through thin walls and road traffic.
Couldn’t use carpark after going out for dinner as it was full and on the one occasion that we did use carpark the garden in the middle made it hard to manoeuvre.
Was expecting a queen size bed only had a double quite uncomfortable pillows like concrete.
Did not use restaurant as was so disappointed in room was not going to spend more money there.
We cut our stay short.

Clean and comfortable. Restaurant food was amazing. Breakfast was also yummy. Lovely friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Loved my stay and will stay again. Definitely a hidden jewel.

Stayed for two nights and found them to be a bit of a hidden jewel, so well located. Clean, quiet and very comfortable. Centrally located with great parking.

I visit Canberra often and I am always happy to stay in the Apartments. They are comfortable and well equipped. The bbq and eating area is always clean and a great place to eat. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Very cheap, motel has adequate parking and close to the important areas in Canberra. Overnight manager is great. Car did get scratched in the carpark unfortunately.

Stayed here a few months ago! Was absolutely lovely. We arrived late in the afternoon and it was already really cold but the staff had turned the heater on in our room prior to our arrival, it was so warm when we entered the room and it was much appreciated! Sometimes It's the small things. Beds were comfy and rooms were nice and clean. We will be back next time we are visiting.

A great couple of days at the clean, happy and friendly Forrest Hotels and Apartments In Canberra. Buffet breakfast better than the Novotel and best poached eggs I’ve had in years!

Is pretty good first of two nights bed if comfy room is clean, nothing to complain about thus far. Very close to it all. Can recommend.

We have stayed a few time now and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The last time we stayed we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and it was very comfortable and well appointed kitchenette with new looking appliances. My kids loved that there was a coffee machine and wanted to be baristas all night. We got room service for dinner and the food was excellent and was at our room in 20mins hot tasty and nicely cooked. Great location at great prices. Thanks to Jim and his staff.

Stayed here for one night On way back to Queensland from Melbourne. Although the outside looked a bit old, the inside was surprisingly updated. Beautiful comfortable and large beds with electric blankets and thick bedding. A laundry with modern combined washer/dryer. A large bathroom with a very modern shower. Large kitchen with modern appliances including a dishwasher. Large TV, air conditioning. An outside area for barbecues and an on site restaurant. Close to everything and definitely worth the extremely good price I paid for the night. On any return trips to Canberra I will be checking to see if there is a vacancy. I would also recommend this to friends. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

Location is good for price. Only 5 min drive to the city. Rooms could be improved especially the bathrooms. Staff very nice and approachable. Buffet breakfast is awesome.

Clean and nice! Unfortunately the staff was not helpful, when we only got accommodation for 5 despite booking for 6 people! Since this is quite unacceptable we are definitely not going to book with forrest h & a again!

Pretty good location, good rooms for the price. Parking is a nightmare! They offer "free parking" we later 11PM find out there's no allocated spots, so if you're going out after checking in and parking… get an uber…

Nice clean place has a good restaurant not to far from the city and a good area for a walk. The breakfast charges are ridiculously expensive with it being $17 for a continental and $22 for a full breakfast both are buffet apart from that It was great. The night meals are good and a t a good price.

Great staff great restaurant parking first come first served but not usually an issue rooms clean and tidy 2 blocks from manuka restaurant strip and shops easy walk.

I have really struggled to write this review. This hotel needs to seriously review its cleaning procedures and processes. I was absolutely disgusted at what I found around the bar fridge and fridge door seal. I won't go into details here but did ask that the manager contact me to discuss my complaint. To his credit, he did and he assured me that they were rectifying the problem. He also offered a free night's accommodation in one of their apartments as a goodwill gesture. I don't travel to Canberra often so can't accept his offer but to be honest, I don't know if I would stay again.

Room was quite comfortable, there was very little noise from outside so we suspect double glazed windows. People in room upstairs were noisy however. Bathroom had been partly refurbished but was very squeezy and also really needed a proper refurb to finish it properly. Staff seemed OK but neutral, neither overly friendly nor disinterested but just matter of fact. Would I stay again? maybe, wouldn't be high on my list however.

Awesome location and very affordable. Perfect if u need quick overnight accommodation! Stayed with my partner as we stopped to visit canberra on the way to Sydney and this place works out perfectly!

Motel like setup. Comfortable for an overnight stay. Furnishings, upholstery and decor need a uplift. Bathrooms are very small and poky.

When I pulled up in the cab from the airport I thought the place looked a little dated and started to worry that maybe I was in for a rough couple of days. Then I stepped into the reception to check in and was greeted by wonderfully courteous staff that really made me feel welcome — a great first impression! My room was small and the decor a bit outdated but if you travel frequently you’ll appreciate the smaller things that hotels do to make your stay a pleasant one. This hotel ticked a lot of boxes — a REALLY comfortable bed with fluffy pillows, large bathroom towels that were super soft, a shower with brilliant water pressure, and a quiet room at night that muffled outdoor noise. That’s the kind of stuff you want. Very close to restaurants, supermarkets and circuses (ie Parliament House). I would definitely stay again, thank you.

Highly recommend! Very comfortable room with a small kitchen and a good selection of a crockery. Bathroom was very clean, as were the linens (added bonus; it smelled “neutral” clean not “disinfectant” clean) The staff were really lovely, very helpful and nice. The continental breakfast was not included in the price but Wow it was excellent. Great assortment of cereals and fruits, and bread that looked like it was baked by humans! Truly tasty! You could also upgrade to a hot breakfast that had a pancake machine! They also had many power points so there was no need to unplug the lamp to charge your phone. A well deserved 5 star rating.

The hotel room was decent and had pretty good amenities. Two things that really put me off was the room had a very weird smell (thought it went away after a bit if you turned on the AC). The other was the Wi-Fi would not connect no matter what. Would have given 4 stars, but this day and age you need to have a working Wi-Fi.

Great place to stay with kids. Leafy location opposite a park with lots of playground equipment. Roomy, neat apartment — clean and comfortable. Decor a bit dated. Highly recommend the buffet breakfast.

My husband and I, together with our adult son, stayed in one of the refurbished two bedroom apartments, recently. The staff were very helpful on the phone when I made my enquiry and booking, offering me a very reasonable rate for our one night visit on a Saturday night. They had our details from a previous visit at the hotel and made me feel that our business was valued. The two bedroom apartment had a very spacious and modernised kitchen and bathroom and separate toilet with laundry facilities, including dryer, which would be great for a longer stay. The outlook was pleasant over the lovely central lawn and BBq area, with tennis courts at the rear. To combat the noise of potential early morning tennis and to deflect heat and light, the apartment had electric shades which could be lowered over the windows on this side.
The new block out drapes and bedspreads were attractive and beds comfortable.
The apartment we were in had two bedrooms, one with queen bed, the other with twin singles. The only downside to the accommodation was a lack of ample clothes storage, especially for a longer stay. The second bedroom did not have a wardrobe, although there was hanging in the hall adjacent. The main bedroom had a cupboard without doors with shelves and had limited hanging, but this was filled with bedding and in fact an additional foldaway single bed. I think this very nice apartment would be even more functional if bedside tables were changed for drawers for storage.

Very comfortable motel in a great location. Rooms are nice with excellent buffet breakfast. They have traditional motel rooms as well as apartments with kitchens and basic cooking facilities. BBQ area out the back is nicely done. Staff friendly too making for a great stay.

Cheap rates and friendly staff make up for our slightly "shabby" looking room. Room is certainly getting on the aged side. Old stains on carpet, marks on walls and slight rips in furniture. Despite all this, room still feels "clean" and is comfortable. $114 per night for our room so I'm still happy enough. Perhaps time for a refurb I think. Would I stay again? Yes it's quite probable. Free parking outside room is very helpful.

Had the most delicious snack for dinner not very hungry so ordered Tandoori Chicken and Advocado Wrap with salad. Super choice too big really and the salad was big enough for 2. Couple of glasses of bubbly now bed and a book. Come sample you won't regret it.

I stay conveniently near my meeting venue. This place give me early check-in whenever possible. Makes a big difference to my day. Great front counter service.

Room is comfortable, the bed was comfy and has an electric blanket and a heater :) so good in this cold. The reception ladies were lovely, and it was pretty quiet. A good price especially for the location :) also free parking. Thanks team.

Reasonably nice and tidy place, a little aged but still pretty good. The receptionists were lovely and accommodated our needs of a ground floor apartment and booking taxis.

Blankets need to be thicker. Sheets need to be swapped regularly, got red eye in morning. Never had that before. Nice TV, but should spend some money fixing up the toilet wall accessories. Some broken or falling off. The shower head is too low and needs replacement and there is low water flow. Shouldn't combine hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner all in one dispenser. Makes it look a bit cheap and tacky "all in one".

My husband and I stayed in your motel last night in room 7. From 5pm until we left at 8am there was a filthy smell of sewage coming from our bathroom, but no one in our room had used the bathroom. The smell was so bad it made you feel sick, even with the door shut and fan running. It is unexceptionable to pay so much for a room only to smell raw sewage all night and no one cared when I informed them as I was leaving even though there was 3 people in the office at the time. No one cared.

Apartments were well appointed, comfortable and even a little modern. Good location too. "free Wi-Fi" is a hoax though, $5 for 100mb!

Rooms were average with out dated air conditioning. Bed was to firm foe me and my partner, but the stay overall was good.

It is a great place to spend the night. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the service is pretty good. Nice people. Loved it!

Reasonable price for an apartment, especially for family trip. Excellent kitchen and bathroom. It has both washing machine and dryer so you don't have to pay for laundry. The things that I didn't like is the blanket looks old and not comfortable. I'd prefer a quilt or something but not some woollen throw. The ironing board is also old and not very clean. Hopefully they'll change it.

Excellent value for its price, very clean condition, great central location, 5 minutes drive to my appointment, nice scenery view, very nice and professional staff, she took us through where to get dinner. Will stay here again.

After a long drive — tired brain Check-in was a wonderful, easy experience. Staff are friendly and willing to help Room was upgraded, and parliament house was around the corner.

Clean with friendly staff. However sound travels easily around the hotel, so was surprisingly loud during morning.

The room was basic but happy to have fridge and toaster. And location was peaceful and central. And service was very friendly. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed overnight at Forrest Hotel Apartments. The room was clean and well appointed. The check-out was quick and easy. Good value overall.

Parliament is sitting still this was the only choice at a reasonable price. Very basic, old and uninviting.

Room was great already booked in for our next trip.

My partner and I stayed for 1 night, we will be back. Breakfast was great, the room was clean and the staff were courteous and friendly to this very tired traveller. 5 star rating from me.

We needed somewhere central to stay in Canberra for two nights over the weekend and found the Forrest Hotel and Apartments online. I called them to book a one bedroom apartment and was offered a renovated or an un-renovated option. The only difference was $10 per night so we went with the renovated in the Albany Apartment complex. We were well happy with the state of the apartment, it was warm (important in the middle of winter in Canberra) the bed was firm but comfortable, the pillows were fine, electric blankets on the bed, the apartment was clean, had a full kitchen, was reasonably priced and in a quiet area — no traffic noise, reasonably spacious for what it was, onsite undercover parking (important to avoid a frosty car in the morning) and friendly helpful reception staff. The restaurant wasn't open for dinner over the weekend which we found strange however the cafe strip of Manuka a 10 minute walk away. Coles and Liquorland there too! Our room wasn't serviced for the duration of our stay but that wasn't a deal breaker. I'd definitely book again next time we're in Canberra.

Clean and comfortable with very friendly staff.

Pretty much as you would expect from a budget motel. Was clean and staff were friendly. Room was basic, but well laid out with adequate space for kettle, toaster, table, chairs, etc. Was able to get a good night's kip before the 253km Fitz Challenge the next day. Would be a great location for city sightseeing under normal circumstances, being on National Circuit and only a short walk away from Parliament House. Would stay again if it came up best value in town, as it was when we stayed last time.

Old rooms with minimal facilities. Not the cleanest and not the most polite staff. Booked for 11 days. Stayed for a few hours.

I have no idea why they call themselves 'apartments'. The night I spent in Canberra was spent at a tired AU$150 a night motel that looked quite different to the photos when I booked. Bathroom — original 70's Kitchen very 70's also and the bedroom — grotty old blankets and lumpy pillows on the bed. The good news — very clean, quiet and in an excellent location.

Very uncomfortable bed. But the shower works well, internet is cheap, staff were extra friendly, and the restaurant looked really nice (not that I ate there). But I think $17 for Pizza and a bottle if wine is a pretty good deal in anyones book.
