Alex Hotel, Yerevan.
Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the staff was very rude. Instead of welcoming us or asking why we arrived late, the receptionist spoke to us disrespectfully and mocked us. She admitted that our room (which was already fully paid) was overbooked and said they “had the right” to give it away to the next guest, blaming us for the cancellation and transfer.

2. No complimentary bottled water, coffee or tea— instead, we were told to “just drink from the faucet. ”
3. When we asked for an early breakfast at 8 a. M. We were refused, saying it was “too early. ”
4. The bed had no comforter.
5. The water heater didn’t work.
6. The fridge was turned off.
Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

First of all, we booked for 2 nights. However, we had a delay in our arrival to yerevan so our first night was not used and we did not ask for a refund. When we arrived at the hotel, the female staff was so rude that she told us our reservation was given to other client since we did not inform them that we will be arriving on our second day. (Its like they are double booking even if we paid for 2 nights). We were all tired at that time and yet she was being rude to us.
Secondly, since our flight going back to our destination is early, so we asked if we can have our breakfast at earlier time but still she did not allow it and keeps on being rude.
Other issues with the hotel is there is no comforter only thin linen, no toothbrush, no bottled water, no welcome drinks like coffee or tea.
Overall, the hotel does not meet with a 3 star standard. Staff is rude, not approachable, not welcoming.

I indicated in my reservation that I would arrive at 7:00 PM. The flight ended up being delayed, so I let the hotel know I'd be an hour late. I finally arrived, and they asked me to wait 20 minutes while they went to clean my room. Half an hour later, they took me to some annex where they have a laundry room, and my room was next door. There was laundry hanging out all over the street and some dirty chairs. They told me to wait there. Eventually, a few minutes later, the room was cleaned and I was checked in. The bed linen was stained and covered in hair, the dishes were dirty, and the table was all stained. But since it was late and I was tired, I decided to stay: I chose the cleaner of the two sets of linens. I chased all the flies out of the room, but the next morning there were a whole swarm of them again. The next day, there was no water, so I went for a walk, came back around 8:00 PM, and they gave me water. The second day, the same thing happened again. I specifically booked a three-night stay because I was leaving late the second day and wanted to freshen up. But there was no water (I couldn't even go to the bathroom), even though I could clearly hear the washing machine running in the next room, and the cleaners had water to wash the floors in the hallways. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I went to reception and asked for the water to be turned on, and they said they'd turn it on right away. Ten minutes later, there was no water, so I went back to check.

I'm giving 5, as it's the best value for money. The owners, workers and cooks there will make you feel you are a part of their family.
First of all the location is great, with just few minutes from the city center and about 15-20 mins if you decided to walk till there. The rooms are clean and have a decent view.
And for the gem of this place "The Restaurant" which is unbelievable, the prices are too good to be true with a cozy design, and the star of everything here is Mrs Greta, she literally makes the best food in all of Armenia, her food is better even than homemade food.
I would like to thank the talanted Naira, Greta, Rahul and all of the staff working there, definitely will come again here in my next visit.

Alex Hotel you need to improve your service. No provided toothpaste and toothbrush no shampoo no soap in the room. You need to ask all the time. Staff are not well accommodating. Not approachable not smiling not welcoming you good. Overall need to improve.

A small but cozy hotel. Very clean. I'd especially like to mention the food in the hotel cafe. Excellent breakfasts, personalized service at dinner. The staff was respectful. I was left with a good impression. As the ancient sage said: a good reputation is better than great wealth.
The location is convenient: close to the central bus station and bus stop, you can buy a SIM card, and exchange currency nearby. And an even cooler bonus: two cognac factories are nearby.

The hotel equipment and it's level is far away from 4 stars hotel. It's nice, clean 2 star accommodation for very fair price.
Breakfast start at 9:00!

We were in this hotel only 1 night in June 2025. We just liked the breakfast which was tasty but not varied.
How on earth this place even calls himself a 4 star hotel?
Not clean bathroom, no lid on the toilet, bed sheets werenot white enough, we found lots of belongings of their staff in the wardrobe and I felt like nothing is clean or untouched. Noise from the street till midnight… TERRIBLE.

I went to Alex Hotel with my friend, and it gave us excellent family-friendly services. The room is very clean, the staff was amiable and consistently made sure I was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing taste. If I visit again to Armenia I will stay there. 😊

Unfortunately, our experience with Alex Hotel did not meet the expected 3-star standards. On the first day, there was no water in the washroom, which was a significant inconvenience. Additionally, no drinking water was provided throughout our stay, which is usually a basic amenity in most hotels. We were also informed we’d be given 2 rooms for 4 people, but ended up with just 1 room, which made mornings particularly difficult. Breakfast timing was also an issue, as the hotel staff was not flexible even after repeated requests.

The hotel was absolutely great, the staff were incredibly friendly and the rooms are very high quality. It is a bit far to the city centre. Our stay here was very comfortable.
The only issue I have is the Wi-Fi, it is a bit weak.
Otherwise everything was great, 4/5 stars.

I stayed at Alex Hotel in Armenia in October for a business trip, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. To be honest, it’s more like an inn than a proper hotel. The property consists of two buildings – one slightly more modern in the front, and a very old one located at the end of the backyard. Despite booking in advance, we were placed in the older building, which lacked comfort and basic amenities.
The service was below expectations. During our 4-day stay, the weather was quite cold, yet the heating was not turned on. When we asked about it, we were simply given extra blankets instead of a proper solution. Only after spending three uncomfortable nights did they finally turn on the heating system.
Additionally, the staff were not friendly or welcoming. The worst part was discovering that someone had entered our room without permission while we were out – a serious violation of privacy and completely unprofessional.
Overall, I would not recommend this place, especially for business travelers looking for comfort, warmth, and professional service. There are definitely better options available in the area.

"We're absolutely thrilled with our stay at Alex Hotel here in Armenia! My partner and I are on a few days' vacation and tour, and this hotel has exceeded our expectations in every way.
The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, particularly Ana, the manager, who went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. When we requested an early breakfast due to an early tour, they happily prepared a special meal for us.
Raul and Jasian, the staff members, were also outstanding, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to providing us with everything we needed.
Our room for two was perfect, and we couldn't fault anything during our stay. We're so happy we chose Alex Hotel as our home base in Armenia.
If you're looking for a wonderful place to stay in Armenia that is 15 mins to center, look no further than Alex Hotel! We highly recommend it. "

Misleading and Uncomfortable Stay – Avoid!
This hotel is extremely misleading. The pictures on booking websites show the new building, but the budget rooms are in an old, poorly maintained building that they never mention. Once you arrive, they push you to upgrade for a higher price or cancel your booking and pay them directly.
The economy rooms are awful—dirty, freezing cold, and missing basic necessities. The heating is almost nonexistent, and the old wooden windows let in even more cold air. Even if you ask, they don’t provide any extra heating devices. There are no slippers or water bottles in the budget rooms unless you go to reception and specifically ask for them. The entire place feels neglected and uncomfortable.
The hotel is far from the city center, making it inconvenient for travelers.
Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place unless you’re willing to pay extra for an upgrade.

The photo they posted in agoda is totally confusing. They advertised a clean room, but they will give another room at the back of the said hotel, which is posted in the photo. 2 single beds and an old room. The reception offered us a room outside the hotel with 2 single beds. Though they offered an upgrade of a couple/ king-size bed in the main hotel but she asked for additional payment of more than half of the whole stay. She wasn't too kind to offer a nice place so that guests would give good reviews, she is purely money matters. The room was small, bathroom smells inside the room, towels were old. The place was too far from the city. You will spend more on a taxi. The room heater was not working well. It was literally cold… The staff is nice yet the room was unkempt and not that clean. I cannot recommend this place.

Its highly recommendable to every one, I like the location of the hotel not crowded, and its only 8 to 10 minutes to yerevan square, the room is clean miss Anna the owner and her staff are so friendly and approachable, thank maam 🙏 for your kindness to us, you such a nice person. The owner and the staff are friendly, accessible to all activities. 8 mins ride from the hotel to the Yerevan square. So nice and cozy the place and the breakfast was so delicious.
