Good location close to the event I was attending. I've been staying at this location for years. It's not a fancy place, but I always get good service and a clean room for a good price.

Stayed here when I attended a conference at the convention center across the street. Comfortable. Great breakfast.

I stayed at this hotel for one night and I was very disappointed. The staff in this hotel were very kind, professional, and polite. My issue is with the hotel in general, all of the furniture is outdated to include the appliances and the bathroom. There were stains that have probably been there for awhile but because everything is so old they're not going away no matter how much you clean. The bedsheets and towels have probably been there for awhile and need replacing asap. I decided to try the gym and it was laughable, there was a total of 3 machines: a treadmill that did not go over 4.3 (I think) for speed, an outdated elliptical, and an outdated bicycle. On the upside there was a pool and a Jacuzzi that I did not try. I also had the breakfast and was also disappointed. They have this large eating area but they decide to cram everyone in a small room, the food itself reminded me of the food I had while I was in the Army which was not the best but it was complimentary so you get what you pay for. Overall, for what I paid for I was really underwhelmed. Next time I won't procrastinate on booking my room.

Front desk people were nice. The room, another story. Very, very old, especially the bathroom. Everything in the room seemed dirty. I looked for bedbugs. There where brown splash marks all over bathroom door and wall behind the toilet. The towels were so threadbare, you could see through them. Yucky.

Hotel was pretty vacant so we didn’t understand why we got put so far away from the main building. But that being said our room was very clean. It smelled good bathroom was spotless and beds are very comfortable. Now looking forward to the breakfast in the morning. Will never hesitate to stay at a Howard Johnson again :)

My wife and I stayed here for the pool, it's is outstanding. The room was clean, a little dated but nice enough. The staff were courteous and happy to chat about places to eat and a few things to do. The hotel restaurant closed a couple years back, but the bar opens at 5pm which is right near the pool area. I want to go back to enjoy the pool with our kids now :)

Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable with refrigerator and microwave. Very good free breakfast and pet friendly. Lots of local delivery options for good food while you stay here.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and happy to get us extra shampoo and pillows. Overall a good hotel for the price.

Building needs renovation. Continental breakfast was horrible. No water in swimming pool, vending machines on 2nd floor where our room was located were both out of order. The so called free "High Speed Internet" was the worst connection and speed I've ever witnessed in my life. Couldn't keep a steady connection. Not impressed!

I do not recommend this place. Bed bugs and hair in the beds from the previous occupants. Facility lacks alot of amenities a decent priced hotel/motel/Inn should provide.

It is a very nice hotel with excellent food services. The pool and jacuzzi are available. The bar looks really good and the waiters care about your food.

Needs an upgrade. Rooms are okay. Staff was outstanding and helpful — Lupe in particular. Breakfast was no better than weak. No breakfast meats both days. Tasteless eggs and potatoes. The muffins were good but who needs that many carbs? Good location just off the highway and close by to shopping, restaurants and other activities.

Good price. Fantastic service. Clerk at the desk was both flexible and extremely helpful. Thank you.

We loved the Jacuzzi suite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and the sweet rolls were delicious. We really enjoyed our weekend stay.

This is not a good place to stay. I found someone else hair in the sheets. The top blanket was not clean. The pillows need to be replaced, I don't feel comfortable staying here. The front desk has no clue about restaurant in area or phone numbers. The carpet in the halls are very old and need to be replaced. I've come from Chicago it's been a long day, I didn't book this hotel my brother did, but he obviously didn't read the reviews. On top of all if this they have the nerve to hold 100$ in case of property damage. Really!. If you are accustomed to decent and clean hotels. I avise you not to book a room here. I can't take a shower, don't feel comfortable. Wish it wasn't so late I would would check around for another hotel. Have to sleep with my clothes on, and check in another hotel tommorrow. Don't come here, you will disappointed.

Nice clean room and a very friendly staff. The continental breakfast was decent. The only small complaint is that the room was dated. There was actually enough blankets on the bed to stay nice and warm though. The bed was very comfortable.

Pretty old hotel in Yakima. Service was fine. Dirty rooms, small bathrooms. No bed bugs!

Really enjoyed proximity to conference center. Bathroom was very nicely updated and improved the feel of the whole room.

Rooms were clean, food served for breakfast was pretty good. Our keys didn't work at first, but that was corrected by the front desk. Also, the TV in our room didn't have an HDMI port, not a huge deal but something to keep in mind.

Rude employes. Verry snotty ladies and homeless people sleeping in parking lot.

I worked here 9 yrs ago when it was owed by red lion, after the property was sold to private owners "the singha brothers it went straight down hill, not surprising to me at all, I called to make arrangements for a reunion only to discover they no longer had a restaurant and only served a continental breakfast now. I read the reviews in Google and just wanted to cry, because before the brothers took it over it was a great hotel… I am sorry it's gone so far down hill what a shame.

Room was of okay size. Thus visit had 32 inch flat screen TV, about 50 channels. Bathtub an injury waiting to happen, as they have no anti-skid mats or stickers in it. First step in, foot slid and I almost fell, beware. Splash stains on bathroom walls, gross! Pass on this one unless you have no other option!

The Howard-Johnson plaza is clean and well kept motel. The lobby is bright and pleasing to the eye. The staff are courteous and.

OLDER motel in great location near freeway. Yes older places have smaller rooms but great friendly staff keeps place clean and enjoyable.

Hotel room smelled very strongly of cleaner and some old cigarette smoke. We aired the room out and most of the smell came out but it was still there in the background. Good location.

Front desk personnel are awesome! Room is great. Quiet.

The staff was friendly, Room and building outdated like no flat screen, breakfast was ok but missing some kind of meat. It was quiet but felt like the area was a little bit unsafe especially for my car.

Friendly staff and wonderful breakfast. The cleaning product they used caused an unpleasant smell. Our door jam was a little damaged and the building could use some aesthetic maintenance.

The staff was friendly and nice but the room was so run down and terrible! There were holes in the wall the tub floor was black the bed had no support on one side like it hasn't been replaced ever. The ac didn't work, the entire front panel fell off. It did however kick on full force at 5am when we weren't using the blankets because it was so hot. Then we froze and it shut off after about 30 mins. The only reason we stayed was it was late, most other hotels were sold out due to the eclipse and we had a 1 year old with us. Wish I could give the staff a higher rating but I will never stay this location again.

Black mold in the shower! Very dated hotel. In desperate need of a renovation. I'm sure it was clean, but it looked dirty due to the fact that it's so aged. The refrigerator in our room was broken. Never saw any employees there except for the girl at the front desk. Very noisy, not well insulated. The beds were so old that you rolled toward the middle. I would have a hard time recommending this hotel to anyone.

Somewhat clean with old rooms. Limited water pressure, ac mostly worked, other equipment in the rooms showed their age. The hotel by default charges for safes that aren't there, but then they remove those charges too upon request. They shouldn't charge for nonexistent services in the first place. The breakfast is OK. The Wi-Fi if it works, is horrible. All this and we weren't there at a very busy time. If you are in Yakima for a convention, I know you want to stay close but either stay at the holiday Inn express or drive a short way to one of the well maintained hotels.

I'm sure this was a 3 star hotel when it was first built, but it has not been maintained well and now is closer to a one star hotel. That said, my room was clean enough, and comfortable for a quick one night stay on a roadtrip. I wouldn't want to stay longer. Even at a discounted rate, this place is overpriced. Staff was friendly.

This hotel is gross. Super out dated, dirty bathrooms, heard sirens all night long, uncomfortable beds, 20+year old tvs with basic cable… no chance this is a 3 star hotel. And I'd question if the pool is really heated — it was too cold for me to get into. They also only have a tiny hot tub. Even with just two people in it you are uncomfortably close to the second person. Iv stayed in nicer motel 8's. Not worth the summer price of 130.00 a night.

Stay was comfortable. Breakfast is ok. The outdoor pool was a little cold, but it was fun.

Definitely NOT a 3star hotel! No hot water in the AM for shower, "continental breakfast" consisted of eggs, Hashbrowns, and sugar buns. No bacon? Come on. SD TV in room. Bed was comfortable, which was probably the only good thing about my stay.

Great place to stay! However, the beds were not to comfortable. They need new beds in some of the rooms! We were there for state and when done with a long day it was AWESOME to have a bar with a great Bartender, great drinks and great prices! No drinking and driving for me. The bar stays open as long as there is someone there!

Hotel was dingy and old, rooms were cold with insufficient heating, carpet was vey dirty, bad experience overall.

Very nice building. Not brand new, but we'll maintained. They càre about the professional looking quality of their meeting spaces and lobbies. I assume the same for their rooms.

Perfect stay for my visit in Yakima. Great stay, great staff, would HIGHLY recommend staying here on your next visit through!

The rooms are shady. It's a place you can take kids, or a dog… Or a circus. You know, a place with low standards and stained carpets. The Wi-Fi craps out every two minutes. Took me five days to get this review up because they don't let you review it from the website, and the internet kept crapping out. They put us in a room and the ac was broke, so they sent us to a different one, and that ones ac was busted. Finally got a room work working ac. Other than the condition of the building and the really cheap breakfast (seriously powdered eggs and soggy hashbrowns that you still manage to burn is not a good breakfast…) The stay was fine. The staff are super nice and accommodating. House keeping was pleasant, even if you didn't speak their language, they made you feel like you belonged and you weren't just waisting their space out getting in their was. The people are awesome, building and services crappy. 2/5
