Really needs updating…
The bathroom door wouldn't close and the entrance door had to be slammed to get it to close. Our non-smoking room reeked of smoke that permeated the beds, the curtains, carpet and soft furnishings. We complained and were told they would do something about it… They never did and didn't offer another room or a discount.

Ty to Tony our Bartender and Derek the front desk clerk you both get 10 stars for your amazing customer service! We will be coming back.

Poor service. Employees don't seem to care about serving the public.

The room had holes in the wall, that had been poorly patched, and one hole was not patched at all, no complimentary breakfast, dead flies in the bathroom, bath tub was not draining at all… felt more like A motel six… not impressed at all, and will not return, was highly surprised, most red lions are luxurious and quite nice.

All I can say is the staff here is very friendly and go above and beyond for you as a guest. And Maria is the only reason I come back and stay. She is the best employee/manager you have. We stay here 3 times a year. And we only do because of the 5 star customer service she provides. Thank you Maria!

Some odd 'plus' amenities mixed (pools plural) with great location. That being said… it's a dated property with little updating. Considering a bit of the neighborhood and first floor accommodations, security is lax. Significant other would not stay on the first floor without me… just saying. Price was right and can't complain too much. Like I said some real nice aspects.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was nice. However, their system was unable to process and make easily accessible reservations and pre-payments, which made for an extra hour of check-in and convincing that the reservation and payment were previously made (I even had the confirmation email and the process was difficult). The staff was pleasant, though. All around a fine overnight stay.

A star is being generous… This hotel has bed bugs period. They put my cousin in a room infested, that they knew was. Someone that stayed there in the same room a month prior, put a review online about the same room having bed bugs. That's just negligent. I understand that bed bugs issue starts with people bringing them but its the hotels responsibility to have Orkin or pest control treatments done routinely, period. Red Lion Hotels having turned into dumps sadly… whoever is the parent company of Red Lion should sell it if they are not gonna be committed to doing quarterly Quality Assurance checks. Close it down. Just because a hotel is located in a rural area doesn't mean it gets to be ran unsupervised. We found one dead dried and intertwined into their flimsy mattress cover, in our way.

Room was clean and beds are very comfortable. Was told one pool was heated and one was not. Neither were heated and both extremely cold. Really should think about offering continental breakfast of you want to be in consideration in the future. Do not use got word to book this hotel as all sales final and will charge your card before you even get there so of you don't like it it's nonrefundable.

DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could leave zero stars, I would. My entire soccer team stayed at this Red Lion but the hotel failed to associate us with the block of rooms I had reserved then CHARGED ME $1500 in cancellation fees even though we stayed there! I even provided receipts from each of us showing that we'd stayed there. Customer service wouldn't return my calls. Worst customer service, and worst hotel experience. They are criminals — save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else!

This motel is given a 1 star because of the following: * The area is very high crime. Vehicles get broken into on a weekly basis. There is no signs posted anywhere on the property that it is not the motels responsibility if vehicles get broke into. Homeless are allowed to wander through the property at all hours. * Room 103 and 104 are infested with bed bugs. * The Inn staff allow minors into their night club, who are employed with the company * Doors in the Corporate building are not able to be used to enter the building or exit. * Drug paraphernalia is always found somewhere on the property * The engineering staff smoke marijuana on the property * Room toilets are always backing up * Closet doors are always off hinges and off track * Hotel housekeeping staff are rude and inconsiderate along with the management * They over charge for guests who check in late not to mention 25.00 charges for roll aways. * Roll aways are put in Double queen rooms causing a fire hazard.

We asked for a pool side room but we got it outside of the gates. It was cobsidered poolside. But not what I expected.

The hotel is pretty nice, but some of the rooms are in detached buildings, which is inconvenient and poses a safety risk at night. This isn't the safest part of town, but it is close to the heart of the city. Kind of a drive from the airport, but not too bad if you don't hit traffic.

Great, except that my bathtub wouldn't stay full when I tried to take a bath. Otherwise, everything was fine, and I really liked my little potato overlooking the courtyard.

Very unpleasant front desk experience. Room wasn't ready due to them fixing AC problem. After 2 hours we were put in room in far back of hotel. Garbage cans overflowing, peoope walking around parking lot touching cars, keycards wouldn't open door, replaced keycards and then into a room that wasn't cleaned, portable ac with door open to run, intoxicated men wondering around parking lot saying weird stuff and drug activity taking place on backside of hotel. Had no idea Red Lion had ghetto hotels. The plus here was comfortable beds! After getting no sleep we demanded a new room the next morning. If you stay here ask to be in main hotel or at least in corporate suites part.

Very accommodating and friendly staff. I worked an extremely large conference, where we held workshops both here and at the Yakima Convention Center. The Red Lion Staff assisted with set up, directing students to workshops, and any question that I needed answered, they were happy to take the time. I also stayed here for the duration of the conference and the rooms were clean and inviting.

The location was very good as it was right next to the Yakima convention center we were using. Rooms were very average in terms of cleanliness and amenities. There were also pools but they were not cleaned while we were there which was a bit disappointing.

I have stayed as a corporate guest in this hotel many times in the past. This particular day I was driving past while having bowel trouble of an extreme nature. I parked my Mercedes in front of the entry in full view of the front desk clerks who eyed me as I quickly passed them on my way to the mensroom. Unfortunately I was — not in time. I was forced to remove my shoes and pants to remove my underwear while inside the bathroom stall. If this wasn't a big enough indignity in itself, security came and said I had to leave immediately. I put my pants and shoes back on, came walking out and went to the front desk followed by security. I dropped the soiled underwear off at the front desk, while showing them the numerous confirmation emails sent from that very facility to my email. Just wanted to show that I'd been there as a guest literally twenty times. Being escorted out from the bathroom was a humiliation beyond what I expected. I pointed to my spotless Mercedes just outside the doors and stated that I watched the front desk watching me as I exited my vehicle and hastily made my way past them to use their bathroom. What were they thinking treating me so poorly? Never stay here. Ever. Such a terrible way to run a hospitality establishment.

Pool side view reservation… I see parking lot. Took quite a while to check in. Room was clean and comfortable though.

Very unprofessional, poor customer service, poorly stocked "free" breakfast. All in all, dealing with this hotel was very difficult. I am still waiting to receive a call back from the manager (stayed 4 weeks ago) about a forgotten item.

Nice hotel. Breakfast is alright. It's pretty average.

Bathrooms and lobby all are spotless. I was only there for a concert so I can't speak on the service or the rooms.

Google Maps says there is a hot tub here. There isn't. I had an issue at the front desk checking in, that required me to call my bosses boss for a confirmation number. The girl finally found my reservation on a variation of the company name. It surprised me she hadnt tried that earlier on, before I had to start making calls. But… later in the bar, the very lovely bartender heard my complaint and took action. She got a manager to come ask me about it, who then comped the drink I was having. Even when they fall short somewhere, they do work to make it right… this means they really care about doing it right. They have my recommendation.

Staff was nice, hotel was clean. My lower rating is because my room was newt to the ice and vendingachine and I had to listed to a constant buzzing sound all night. Outer doors to hotel are in poor shape and one was difficult to use to exit.

This place needs updated. The parking lot needs to be more secure. Many people walking through that are not guests. Walls thin. Back rooms in their Corporate Building are noisy and are facing a deteriorating part of town. There is no free breakfast if you book through Priceline Express Deals. The room was clean though.

I've always appreciated the staff and how clean the rooms are. Best price for what you get.

Second time in Yakima for work. First time I was booked at the Masion down the road. This time my company put me here, the red lion. I was surprised they didn’t offered complimentary breakfast for one. But here’s the reason this hotel got a one star. I typically check out my bed, mattress, linens, as soon as I get in but I was so exhausted from the drive and work that I just sat on the bed while watching TV for a while. Once I was ready to get into bed, I pulled back the blanket/sheets and noticed super long dark hairs on the pillows! I turned them over and found more hair, tiny ones and long! I was absolutely disgusted! I search the bed and see dark hairs all over! Wtf! I immediately tried calling house keeping & front desk my hotel phone wouldn’t call out I had to use my cell to call the front desk who told me house keeping was gone for the night and she couldn’t help me BUT she’d send “someone” over with new bedding and I’d have to make my king bed… ummm ok. Thankfully I had a coworker traveling with me who’s room was next door so I call her over and ask her to stay with me while a strange man I don’t know brings me sheets… he shows up with linens and takes all the old bedding. We begin to make my bed, come to find out he brought me queen sheets for a king! I call back and she tells me when he returns she’ll send him back again with new sheets! He comes back with two top sheets and the comforter again is too small!

Given wrong room when checking in. Then new keys to Room didn't work and had to get new ones. Doors on side entrances were very hard to open. Front desk new they were hard to open but don't inform me. Light and Fan combo is bathroom was super loud.

Loved everything, except the phone in the rooms say there is room service but there actually isn't.

I am picky and this place has several bad reviews so I was concerned. We had a great time. The staff were kind, clean/nice rooms as well as the pool areas.

I didn’t even stay here. My fault for incorrectly booking through a travel site and not double checking the address before pushing submit but when I type in a city — I assume the hotel will at least be close. Not 50+ miles away. As soon as I saw the mistake (30 seconds later) I immediately contacted the hotel to explain my mistake and if they could transfer the reservation to the actual city I was staying in and I would pay the difference. Of course this couldn’t happen because reservations after 4 pm cannot be changed. Seriously? I booked it less than 5 minutes ago. Thanks for nothing Brianna, front desk at red lion. I take responsibility on not double checking before I hit submit. That is on me. But I caught the mistake immediately. I promise that I will NEVER stay in a red lion again due to this customer service experience.

The staff has been very pleasant. Now the rant…
I just checked in 3 hours ago. My room is pretty and the linens seem fresh. However, everything is "sticky to the touch" including two of the condiments next to the coffee pot. They appear to have dried coffee or something on the packages. There is dust on the fridge, microwave and coffee tray. No ice bucket. The office chair is broken. The cabinet doors are falling off the furniture. The door to the room is so hard to close you have to use both hands and your body weight. While I was at the front desk, I heard a guest say that her fridge has still not been delivered and another guest ordered a two bed room and only got one bed and is now being charged extra for a rollaway bed. I've always enjoyed Red Lions in general, but this leaves me wondering if it's a Yakima thing or Chain-wide. Hmm.

Maid service is terrible. Clean towels is about all that is changed daily. Glasses. Soaps, shampoo not replenshid when empty. Nothing cleaned on a daily basis. The bed was only pulled up, not remade. Blanket was tucked in at an angle across the bed. Sheets not straightened out. A real mess. Don't spend money on the breakfast. It's not worth it. Counter staff was friendly and efficient. I stayed here only due to a confrence. I would not stay here again. There are other hotels in the area.

Had a short stay of a single night in my way to watch the eclipse. The woman at the front desk was very nice during check-in. Room was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the entrance door to the hotel next to where my room was located was hard to open. I initially thought the key cards weren't working but the door is just very hard to open.

Nice clean rooms wonderful beds. The pool was great. Sat out with friends and family and visited till late in the evening. Had a wonderful stay.

Upon our arrival we were greeted as expected. Very professional and courteous staff. The room was clean and the setting was rather nice. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Shocking, the price I paid for a room should have included a continental breakfast. I went to get coffee and was informed the coffee was free but if I chose to eat it would be an additional charge of almost six dollars. Really? You charge me roughly $175.00 a night for a room that had absolutely no view and the lady at the front desk couldn't really explain to me on how to find my room. I travel almost every weekend in the summer and I can assure you I will avoid any and all Red Lions. Never again will I stay at this establishment. If I could rate this any lower I would.

The rooms were okay, aside from a very odd smell. Like a combo of mold and? Other than that, the beds were clean, nice bathroom. BUT if you think you might have to cancel, don't reserve. We read some bad reviews and were going to cancel, but they have a no cancellation policy. No special rates and no cancellation policy is enough to make me not want to repeat it.

We had reservations for 2 months and tried to check in early because we brought a dog and had a 2:00 wedding and didn't want to leave the dog in the car. We called at 10AM plus stopped by at 1:00 and they wouldn't let us check in. We checked in at 5 PM and the only room they had left was one without air conditioning. This was not acceptable in Yakima! We walked out and cannot believe this is their practice. I will not recommend.

It was a white hot mess, three people placed in a room with one bed, door to room was not closing properly, huge black hairs in the other room we were placed in, guessing they don't change sheets.

What a hole in the wall. We stayed for a conference. Front desk was more worried about being on her phone than what was going on. Air conditioning wasn't working and had to call twice before the offered a fan, which is when I noticed all the other balconies had standing fans in their doorways as well. Place needs some serious renovatons and updating to even be remotley worth what they charge per night.

Front desk was not very helpful. Constantly had the Wi-Fi going in and out. There was a whole day where the channels for my TV were not working. I went to the 2Go fridge at the front desk and it was half stocked and when I asked if they had anything in the back they just said no. I had a co-worker staying at the Holiday Inn across the street and that is a far better option.

Great resting place. Rooms were clean and cozy. Service was great. The only let down was the pool. Although it is normally hot in Yakima, on overcast days it can get cold and the pool is even colder.

Room was good for our family of 5 with kids ages 11, 8, and 2. Although it was overcast, the kids still enjoyed the two pools at the hotel. We stayed as part of a big soccer group, so breakfast was free.

Yakima is sketchy, but not here… Great environment staff and service. Lots of things to do around here. Planning on coming back.

I like that the employees are union.

We were located in the upper terrace. The room was ok, but there were a lot of lights that were burnt out in the facility. One flickered during the training and was really a real distraction.

Handicap person placed on 2nd floor with no elevator. Closet with 4 inch opening. Ice machines turned off. We were thinking of staying here a week in June but will not.

All good. Clean room. Bed was comfortable too. Hotel had to redo our billing due to not including our group discount but was easy to do.

I've never really stayed at a good Yakima hotel other than Lodgestone. This place is no different. They give you a bed and a parking spot, which is the bare minimum. I think they have internet, but it's so slow that it's counterproductive and frustrating. Also they're very strict on check-in and check-out time, so keep that in mind.

1) Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. 2) The first set of keys provided did not work. 3) The heater was on full blast when we got there and the room was like a sauna. 4) prior to arrival, I had talked on the phone with someone who informed me I could get a shuttle to where I needed to be the next day but was informed they didn't provide the service when I got there.

Given the price, perfectly fine hotel (good value). While building and furniture not new, it was clean and well maintained. Room was clean, spacious, and bed comfortable. Counter staff (Felix) friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast buffet. Gluten free options. And to top it off, a free airport shuttle (saved me cab fare). Oh, the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, no problems whatsoever.

This was a fantastic hotel. The staff was friendly quick and responsive. We had problems with of the room key but nothing too bad. The hotel was located next to the convention center, easily within walking distance. It was also located very close to the YMCA which was very convenient. Overall a fantastic experience.

Awful… smelly, small, hot, old, no control of a/c, no cable. Analog tv, no hot tub that we could find. 2 cold pools. Weren't aware they had a teen party with bass playing next to our room thankfully it ended at 10pm. No free continental breakfast. So if you want a lot of no's on your trip stay here.

Currently listening to a "dance" party that is hosted by red lion, at 10:00. Called front desk, was told the manager "might be on" this weekend to talk to us about it. Was also told this would continue until at least midnight. Worst hotel experience ever.

Red Lion Yakima, PLEASE do not put people in the "Laundry Service View" rooms or the "Loading Dock View" rooms if they are staying any longer than a few hours. These rooms should go to people that are simply tired from driving and just want a few hours of sleep and they should go for a discount. Its appalling that those rooms go for the same rate as the rooms that are in safer, more attractive areas, that are cleaner, newer and larger.

I stay here every time I travel to Yakima, LOVE IT.

Convenient hotel shares the same parking lot with the convention center. Hotel was very nice, what you would expect from a Red Lion hotel.

One of the better spots in Yakima. I have tired them all in Yakima and the Red Lion is the best value. Clean, comfortable and reliable.

Where's the zero stars button? What a crumb bum hotel, showed up with our reservation in hand. We'd been driving all day, one year old was pooped, we were tired, and to find out they didn't have our reservation made things worse. And they didnt have any rooms. Won't ever stay at Red Lion again. Way to go Holiday Inn Express, you got us a room.

Yuk. Will not stay there again. Poor staff, rude, incompetent, probably due to inexperience or inadequate training. Did not get room we requested even though we had confirmed reservation for the same. Went through multiple keys to enter the room. Food was left in the refrigerator from previous occupants, Very little seating available for clients in the lobby. Poor food service in the breakfast area, running out of supplies for a large group, inadequate catering.

The merits of the place are: 1) central location, 2) friendly front desk staff. But the negatives are overwhelming. My room was located in an impossible-to-find area of the hotel that had an entrance that appeared to be directly from an alley! Room was dark and small. Bathroom was old, musty and had one of those opaque sliding windows that opened onto the back alley. I always try to get into the Hilton up the road but the Hilton is always full so have to stay in this place. Finally, I left my clothes in a drawer of the hotel. I called and they located them, boxed them up and promised to FedEx them to me. But the clothes never arrived. I have called back and left a message with housekeeping but they don't call back.

How is this place still in business? Where do I start this review? First of all, good luck finding your room in this maze like hotel which should be a motel/low income instead. It fits right in there, people hanging out at their balconies, rooms that stink of smoke with stained carpet and walls, old CRT TVs with horrible picture, horrible everything. Not recommended at all.

Just ok check out 26-A with a member there's one room that's awful the pool is great and the staff is ok the nightclub just reopened.
