The service was excellent and friendly. I like how it feels like it is off the beaten path but is close to everything. It was quite. Great for a quick get away. Impressed with the fridge and freezer, but the coffee maker was weak.

It's a beautiful hotel set back away from the road. The parking lot is huge and offers plenty of space for parking and a nice walk. There are businesses within walking distance in the plaza next door. The beds are clean and comfortable and the rooms are quite large. The pool is nice and it is out of view from the outside so you don't have to worry about creepers. Overall this is a beautiful hotel and worth the stay.

I stayed a little over a week ago and never had the chance to right a review… I stayed here in the second building that they have (Which I thought it was cool that they had more than one building) on the first floor for 2 nights and the room was very clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable! The housekeeper, his name was David and he was very nice and made sure we had a clean room every time we came back. We even came back to beautifully fold towels, once he folded 2 Swans and thought that was amazing. He gave us everything we needed without having to ask for it, and it made my stay that much better! The breakfast was great! Overall great stay!

Whilst driving South, I stayed at Best Western just for a night passing through. It was a quick check-in and satisfactory room. Everything seemed very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the building was beautiful. My stay met all my standards I would say.

Really nice front desk! Great breakfast. I stayed on first floor and wish windows had a heavier opaque window treatment. I sleep during the day and need light blocked out and privacy.

Was in town for a family emergency. Had to find a decent place on short notice. Found it thru Google. Booking said we had a standard room and wouldn't tell me any more. When we got there, we had a king deluxe. It was perfect. Breakfast was prison good but edible. But the awesome room made it worth it for the price. Would definitely book a room here again in the future. They should keep the pool open past 9:30 tho…

Beautiful location! Looks to be Victorian in design. Clean room, they even had the TV remote in cleaned and sealed in a bag. Never seen a "clean" remote. Breakfast was good but average. Make your own waffles with eggs, hashbrowns and sausage. Will definitely stay here again, if back in Richmond.

Had a great stay at this Best Western during the Memorial Day weekend. Friendly and courteous staff. The internet was exceptional and the breakfast was excellent. The room was very comfortable.

This hotel is strange. It's separate buildings, so getting to breakfast meant crossing the parking lot. Another fun thing was the strong aroma of marijuana in the hallway. The rooms are straight out of the 1960s. Stone and brick walls with wooden grid on the ceiling. But it was pretty quiet. I have a few more nights in the hotel, so my rating may change.

Front desk staff very kind and efficient. Very clean rooms. Internet connection great. Breakfast was a great selection, very clean, workers were excellent. Only complaint was noise. You can hear outside noise from hallway and outside the building.

I attended a baby shower there in their governors room. It was clean and ready when I got there so I could set up. Staff was very friendly and the renovations look nice.

Very pleasant experience here. We booked through Expedia, and for some reason we were unable to get one room with a king bed and one room with two doubles, but we decided that that wasn't a big deal. The rooms were clean and very nice, and the staff was very friendly. Their continental breakfast had a lot to offer — more than some places. There was a very noisy school group in the hallways one of the nights, until 1 a. M. I think it would be nice if the staff would tell people that they needed to go into their rooms, but I don't actually think that that's a common experience. I decided it wasn't a deal breaker because I was a kid once.

They demonstrated the worst racial profiling I've ever heard of for a guest who was staying there on business, had his luggage removed from his room, taken to the lobby and had police go through his belongings in the lobby for absolutely no reason! Sounds like a NAACP matter and a lawsuit.

I stayed there while my Mom was in the hospital about 2 miles away. It was peaceful, clean, and convenient to many places to eat and shop. The people at the desk were friendly and very helpful. Both my brothers stayed here as well and were very pleased with the location and quality of the accommodations.

Very nice Hotel it was clean and neat. Equipped for Wi-Fi and for recharging phones laptops Etc. A good continental breakfast in the morning. I would stay there again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is clean and has lots of character. It’s like a little castle! It was recommended to me by my brother and I’m glad I took his advice. The front office had some construction going on but that was really a minor thing. I loved the free breakfast and the lady working there was kind, hard working and kept everything clean. The gym is small but had the essentials for a good workout. It is a little hard to see from the road since it’s tucked in the back behind another business but I feel that added privacy. Great value at a great price.

Staff friendly, clean quiet place. Still in remodeling stage. Still fine. Breakfast was good and hot coffee. Will revisit if in area.

From the time we checked in we had an excellent experience. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was the best we've ever had in a hotel. It was set back from the road a bit which made it feel a little more private. Great hotel I would definitely stay again.

Dark Dungeons. Very outdated. Between parking lights not working and a 2AM party above my room, there was no good feeling of security for a 200lb man never the less a female or family. Unfortunately their breakfast food was blow average quality. They could at least make the effort to keep it warm. The location off the main road behind other quality businesses added to any positive idea of ever using this hotel again.

Such a beautiful hotel. Friendly staff and we had a clean room. Breakfast was a full meal with grits/cereal/oatmeal, bacon/sausage links, toast/bagels/muffins/danish, & coffee/juices/milk. We will visit again on our next vacation to VA.

Very hard to find this place. Small sign on road at driveway. You need to follow it all the way to the back of driveway and go behind buildings to find main entry. Place was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast had many options. Would return.

Property was very nice and clean. Room was very large. The only problem was that the warm food for breakfast was not. The steam tray was not even warm.

This hotel is a very nice and laid back location. Staff was very helpful and enthused to make things right. Overall I would rate this property at 4 stars. Would recommend.

VERY nice hotel. In fact, I would say this is hands-down the nicest Best Western I've seen or stayed in, to date. The rooms are nicely appointed and very clean throughout. The staff — from the Front Desk Attendant, on down to the cleaning staff is super nice and helpful. There's also a full breakfast (NOT the stripped down "continental breakfast") offered downstairs freshly prepared every morning, which you may also take back to your room if you so choose. There's plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby and apparently, while wandering g the halls, I happened to find the Governor's room, which might partially explain why this is such a nice hotel. You will most definitely enjoy your stay here, should you ever find yourself in need of a brief stay in the Richmond area.

The room appearance was nice. However the freshener smell was overwhelming and gave me a headache. The bathroom appeared clean till my kids took a bath — there was mildew. In some places it looked like they had tried to caulk over it rather than clean it (around the faucet and soap holder). The t. V. Keep going off every time the fridge came on/went off and the volume would randomly raise and lower its self. I told the front desk lady. She was very nice but they couldn't do anything that night about the t. V. (which didn't help me as that was the only night I was staying). I liked that it had a fridge and microwave in the room. Overall, I just didn't feel it was worth the cost with all the issues.

We stayed at the Governor's Inn with a group for a nearby event in Richmond. I was very impressed with the hotel. Nice hotel an amenities. Only problem was the A/C wasn't working well. The A/C was set to 68, but it was warmer than that in the room. It was very warm and uncomfortable to sleep. We were not the only one with issues. I spoke to others in our group and they also had problems. Another guest (not part of our group) was also at the front desk complaining about the A/C.

Staff was friendly and helpful! Room was very clean and nice! I love the "old" world feel of the building, it is beautiful! It was a very nice hotel and wonderful experience! I would stay again for certain!

Mark was awesome! The hotel is cute and charming, but service is what takes the cake. They went above and beyond with any questions or comments we had. Mark is an asset as an employee.

Very Friendly and helpful staff. The room was large and clean but smelled of smoke. Plenty of parking and free breakfast. I would of given it 4 stars except the smell of my room which might not be indicitive of the rest of the rooms.

The hotel and staff were excellent. Some areas are showing wear and tear in the bathroom, but the breakfast and meeting hall are clean and neat. The staff is very helpful and pleasant.

On first impressions the hotel was diffently not clearly marked and needs a bigger sign. GPS seemed to be taking me in a circle. But… once in the door it transformed me back to what 5 star hotels "used to be". Extremely polite, helpful staff (Mark waited on me at front desk) and the place was beautiful inside, extremely clean and not run down looking at all. I will diffently use again if in the area and highly recommend this hotel!

This is a really good mid-range hotel. The rooms are clean and the exposed brickwork vibe makes the place feel well built. The furniture is all pretty solid and good quality, right down to the office chair I'm currently sitting in. As others have mentioned the beds are big and comfortable — firm but not overly so. This place is ideal for those staying a couple of nights, particularly on business. The pool is small and more for cooling off than swimming, there's no restaurant or bar, so it's best suited for those driving or who are only sleeping overnight. The staff are really helpful — I said I was a light sleeper with an early flight so they put me in a quiet room and prepped it so I could check in early. They'll give you a to-go bag if you miss breakfast too.

The decor was unique, quite interesting. I really liked it. The pool was nice but a little dirty. The breakfast was great. The staff made our stay, everyone was very kind and helpful! I would return.

I recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Governor's Inn on a trip to Richmond for a wedding. This hotel was conveniently located to everything I needed. It was clean and quiet although located just off a main road. The hotel staff was professional, polite and friendly and always made sure I had everything I needed. Breakfast was hit, fresh and delicious. Definitely will be staying there again on my next trip to Richmond!

When I travel to Midlothian and the Robious Corridor area, this is the only place that I stay because it is the best place to stay. Great Value. Great accommodations. Great staff. The rooms are perfect. The perfect place. If I could give them ten stars I would. That is all.

The rooms were clean the staff was very nice and friendly the breakfast was good with great staff love the shower. I will stay whenever I'm in the area. Pray you'll will keep the rates affordable.

Although we are in a non smoking wing of the hotel, somebody has been smoking for much of the night & started again around 6:00am already today. Our travel companions called the front desk last night to complain and nothing was done. I called this morning and nothing was done. At least send a staff member down the hallway to check where the smoke is coming from. Nothing the night before, so it was probably somebody who checked in last night. Breakfast is decent, but real plates & utensils would be nice. Sorry, I wouldn't stay here again, nor would I recommend it. Stayed here based on travel advisor review. Next year I'll go back to the Sheraton across the street. Slightly more expensive but nicer, cleaner, and better service! If you're going to post a no smoking policy, be prepared to enforce it. You allowed one room to ruin the night of multiple others!

The only complaint I have is the breakfast room was extremely cold. Everything else was great. The customer service was excellent, the room was very clean and we'll kept, and the atmosphere was magical. The hotel looks like a castle and it's absolutely stunning.

Im the GM of another hotel in NY and I stayed here over the weekend. I'm impressed by the presence of the building which is brick and absolutely beautiful. It's like two mansions that make up a hotel. The rooms have character with a brick archway and some stone on the far wall. It's all well maintained. It's very, very clean (trust me, I looked) and the staff is friendly. The ladies at the breakfast (also very good) were very friendly. I don't remember the name of the young lady working when we arrived but I thought she was friendly, funny and attentive. If we return to Richmond, I will stay here without any hesitation. Cheers!

Customer service is fantastic. If they updated the building/rooms and offered a full breakfast this would be a fantastic hotel. Location is interesting but nice that its off the main road. Overall not a bad hotel.

Came for a girls weekend. Stayed 2 nights. Rooms are clean & updated. Breakfast was good. Front desk staff was awesome! Very friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We are from Va. Beach and went to Tennessee for an event. On our return trip home we were exhausted and decide to stop for the night. After eating we arrived at about 10:00PM. The desk clerk was very polite and quick. We had our room, the key, and finished the transaction within 5 minutes of our arrival. The room was large and extremely clean. For the price you can't beat the service. They even supply you with a free breakfast bar from 6-9:30AM. This hotel really gives you the "most bang for your buck"!

Nice stay. Better than last night in Lexington Va. Was a 1 plus. Never again.

Big comfortable room. Hotel is set back from the road so it is quiet! No odd smells, room was clean. Good temperature. Breakfast was good — well the coffee was not great, but the food was good. What else do you need? Clean quiet comfortable room.

Every time I would use the microwave the TV cuts on and off. Also the breakfast was great. The Wi-Fi was average to good. And the excerise room being very basic is the biggest flaw. But overall it was an 8.5 out of 10 star hotel.

This place is great place to stay. The breakfast was good. We went there to be with family. Very family friendly. The staff was wonderful.

Service was excellent. We asked for a pack and play and extra sheets, and both times we received them immediately. The breakfast was really impressive and much better than most hotels of a similar rating. Room itself was a little outdated, but otherwise clean.

Great location for visiting University of Richmond, many places to eat nearby, affordable, rooms had interesting architecture.

I loved this place at first… Its specious and the breakfast was awesome. It was at night when a whole bikers club came in with fighting, weed in the halls, the police had to come. It was past 2:30am before I could sleep. This was insane. Im sooooo tired.
