Very nice place to stay. Staff is great.

Nice and clean good rates.

They are currently doing some repairs in the hallway or another room. But the hotel is still good. Clean rooms, no bugs, TV works, Wi-Fi works, food places nearby.

Good stay. The hotel was clean. We literally only stayed late one night and left the next morning. Because we got in so late we did barely miss breakfast which ended at 9. Only thing is that it would have been nice to know it ended since most end at the 10. Overall, good stay for a 2 star hotel.

Fairly affordable rates for the duration of my stay. Some aspects of the hotel are a little dated, but the building is comfortable and feels secure. The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant to work with, and I appreciate his efforts to accommodate us during our stay.

If you're looking to stay at a hotel in Fort Madison, Iowa, avoid the Super 8 by Wyndham unless you absolutely have no other options. This hotel is a privately owned (franchised into the Wyndham family) & is a joke to say it's a Wyndham. Nothing about this hotel suggests it is part of the Wyndham family, other than the soap & shampoo. The owner is very skimpy & has done everything he can to save a buck. No air conditioning on in the building so it is very hot everywhere. Only leaves the 2 small windows on the second floor open, which doesn't help, only makes it worse. Especially since it allows for the cigarette smoke from the smokers who smoke next to the building to come into the building. Very disgusting & gross. The rest of cons are: the bed sucks (unless you like sleeping on a trampoline that pokes you with springs), hurts your back so much & hard to sleep because of it; the room was not nice & cool to walk into, because the A/C was not already on to cool the room down (again cutting costs at the sake of customer comfort) ; there was supposed to be a continental breakfast, where was the food? The little amount that was there was not very good at all. The sausage & eggs were still frozen most of the time. There was cereal, but I was afraid to have the milk. The few pastries were hard. The waffles were ok, but there was not much batter to use.

Clean rooms, air conditioner works good. Reasonably priced actually cheaper than what was posted on the internet.

Reasonably clean. Quiet. Good prices. Very firm beds and pillows. Stale breakfast. Only things not gross, rubbery, or full of sugar — including the beverages — were the apples.

Made the mistake of booking ahead thinking a Super 8 would be okay. Hallways smelled like smoke. Room smelled like mildew. Bedding looked clean, but an examination of the mattress revealed grey-black staining which was either mold or just something nasty. Another room was the same. Manager wouldn't refund. Plenty of alternatives in town.

The rooms were nice and clean, the bathroom as well. The a. C. However didn't work, and it was pretty warm in the room overnight.

It’s nice if you need just a room to sleep in. The shower is small, but the room is decently spacious. The room is powered by three lamps, and the TV does not support HDMI. The customer service wasn’t great. There are no drinking fountains, a pool or lounge area, and the halls reek of smoke. You get what you pay for.

We had a great king suite the room was nice and clean and larger than usual If we go back to Fort Madison I would go back to this Motel.

Love the room I got at this hotel. Very clean. Nice view. The front desk guy was so nice even gave me a discount on the room. It was bad weather that night and I was tired of looking for motels n price. He came to my car and offer to help with the price. Love the the couch in the room. It was like a small livingroom. Stuff was very nice n kind. Thank you so much.

The people who run the place are very friendly and nice the rooms were nice and clean breakfast was good including hot items like eggs and sausage and waffles. Reasonably priced.

Rooms were clean. Location was great and close to everything. Service was great.

Very clean hotel nice rooms upgraded and breakfast was good they had sausage, egg biscuits and gravy I will recommend this place to everyone to give a try.

This super8 is under new ownership and my stay here was excellent they have upgraded all rooms with new carpet, headboard and the breakfast was hot food with sausage, egg gravy and biscuits I will stay here again.

Very clean hotel and entire hotel is renovated completely change from my last visit and breakfast was good they have sausage, egg and gravy biscuits I will recommend to everyone to give a try will be back again.

The staff was fabulous and hotel was very clean nice breakfast sausage egg biscuit will stay again.

UPDATE: The super 8 in Mt. Pleasant Ia. Is much better! Have stayed there 24 nights now! That's 24 nights the Ft. Madison Super 8 LOST! I would also add that the corporate office refunded my money after I filed a complaint against the Ft. Madison Hotel. (They charged me for a night I didn't stay! 7 night reservation and had to leave a day early… they charged me for all 7 nights. Filed fraud complaint. Beware! Rooms are gross! Wont stay there again even though I have to work in Ft. Madison area all the time. They lost my business… They said they didn't care when I stated that I wouldn't stay there again! Not American Owned… No customer service! The owners live in the rooms! Just booked a 2 week stay at another area hotel. Your loss Super 8! )

This hotel is NASTY. Black mold in the basement. He has electrical Work That Is done By Unlicensed People. He Is rude And overpriced.

Quiet, comfy stay. Polite and respectful check in. Will stay again! Good job new management!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The price was cheap. A few issues though. The cable TV did not work and was fuzzy. The ceiling in the bathroom had some mildew starting to grow but should be easily fixed. All in all, this is a good place to stay when all you need is a bed for the night for some good sleep.

Rooms are clean and plenty of room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sufficient. No reason to go somewhere else and pay more. All you need is here.

Sadly this was my worst ever hotel experience. I am 64 years old and have traveled quite a lot. We arrived at the place after a 15 hour drive. We had let them know at the front desk when we would be arriving. We got to the town but our GSP wasn't working. Upon phoning the place, they couldn't give us any directions to get there. When we did, the man at the front desk was curt and unfriendly. When we got to our room, the air conditioning was off. It was sooo hot in the room and took hours to cool off. Unfortunately our stay was 5 days. Because of our schedule, we didn't have the opportunity to change locations or we surely would have. 3 days, our room wasn't even cleaned. Some days we didn't even get towels. The breakfast was very poor. The orange juice tasted like soap. Some days the sausage was ice cold as if it had just come out of the fridge. Some water spill on the floor from the shower. Upon wiping it up with a towel, the towel was black. I took pictures. As we left this morning, we could see a build up of dirt in the corner 1/4 of an inch thick. There were also serious soiled spots on the wall. When this was reported to the front desk, there was only excuses and no help. Though we found our same stay for $18 a day cheaper, they did nothing for us despite their price guarantee. I've stayed in Super 8 many times in my life. I was so disappointed with this one.

No A\C running in the building in the dead of summer. Rooms have working A\C but do not get very cool for quite some time. Linens are very stiff & caused my wife to have some kind of allergic reaction. The staff here is great. Rooms were recently renovated & were clean, although the heating & A\C unit looked to be from the 70's (no exaggeration). The biggest issue with this place is security. There was a few of us meeting up here for a wedding reception at Wilson Lake. One party had left their room cards in their vehicle so just for the heck of it I tried my card in their door & IT WORKED! That should NEVER happen. After that, curiosity got the better of me & I tried other room doors to see if they would open. To my surprise I basically had a master card to unlock every room door. Never felt safe here after that. Will be contacting the corporate office about this because it's very unsafe & insecure.

The staff we're friendly the rooms maintained good. But the laundry they used had so much bleach left in it my skin turned red and burned. The a/c in the rooms need to be updated or take better care of the ones they have, and also need to use the a/c to the main buildings other areas and not rely on the 2 dinky sink windows on either end of the valley on the second floor.

Very nice, clean hotel and room, especially for the price. Management was very friendly and helpful. He mentioned they did some renovation last year and it shows. The bed and pillows were very comfortable as well. The room had a microwave, but it didn't have a refrigerator, so the management was very nice and let us keep some things in his refrigerator. I will definitely be back! The other nice thing is there is a restaurant directly across the street and a gas station just a block away.

I stayed in this place June 8 2016. My company always books super 8 hotels for all employees all over for work related travels. I've been to so many hotels and have had great experience. This Iowa location is by far the worst ever. When I arrived it was 2am. The receptionist was asleep in a room. I had to call the hotel number after being in the reception for over 5 minutes alone. The sleepy indian lady who came was extremely rude. When I gave her my corporate booking papers she didn't seem to like very much. She said something to the effect that mine was a cheap price line booking. She also demanded a personal credit card something I've never esperienced since all my hotels are company booked. When I questioned why she needed it she said 'just in case you break something'. The room on 2nd floor number 13 was really dirty. I couldn't get the TV to work… I didn't get help when I dialled front desk. I needed to use an iron there wasn't one. I had a really bad experience there# John.

Absolutely awful this woman screamed in my face put her hand less than in inch from me while other customers where in the lobby. I was unhappy and wanted to have an adult conversation, however, she obviously was incapable of that because she called me a lair started crying. When I threatened to call the police she said get out or I'll call the police I told her to do it. She proceeded to scream but never called the cops because she was the problem not me. I never once raised my voice or called her name's she then went on to say that she would never go through our cheap 5 dollar clothes but she got caught by our kids sneaking out of the room. She continues to say it was to take out the trash but somehow it never got taking from the room the entire 2 days? Horrible I suggest you stay at the comfort inn it was way better than this bum ass hotel.

This last week my family and I were in town visiting family and friends and had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel. The woman that calls herself the manager at this establishment, not only allows her young child to run through the halls at all hours, but also deems it necessary to enter guests rooms while unattended to snoop through their belongings. When confronted, this woman started screaming and hitting her hands on her desk. Never have I ever felt so violated or disrespected. Should anyone from the corporate office or her manager actually care to see the videos and photos I have, please feel free to contact me.

We belong to Wyndham. We paid the fee to them for them to book this hotel as we were spending a couple of days across the Mississippi in Nauvoo. This was paid for 100% by Wyndham. Because we had not arrived by 6:00 p. M. The manager or desk clerk cancelled our reservation, which had been paid in full. I have never heard of this before in my life. She then told us that she had a room we could have but we would need to pay another $70.00 + to stay there each night. (We had reserved 2 nights). We refused to pay her any amount of money. We would have slept in our car before we did this. Not only did she not speak fluent English but she also had her toddler running around. Please note, this hotel is not owned by Super 8 but is run under a contract by another corporation. I looked up the other corporation and they have multiple lawsuits against them for how they treat their guests. This continues with this hotel. As a result of how we were treated we drove about another mile and found a much nicer hotel to spend the two nights at for only a few dollars more then she was telling us we would have to pay. I would never stay here or waste my time with this Super 8. If possible I would give this place a negative rating!

I've stayed in a lot of Super 8 but this one was by far the worst. In our room the toilet leak so when you use the restroom you stood in a pool of icky goo. They were remodeling the place and had left spackle and ceiling popcorn all over the floor and didn't bother to clean it up. The breakfast was about the worst I have ever seen in any hotel or motel that offered breakfast.

Hotel is being remodeled and it will be nice when finished.

THIEVES! Credit card fraud! Stayed for 4 weeks 1/4/16 through 1/29/16, room service was half done and some days not at all! or room service was late and knocking on my door at 6pm! when there was room service some thing was always forgotten! Reserved my stay with credit card and was double authorized which held up funds! The last week they said they were remodeling the lobby (not a big deal) NOO! they were painting the halls and had my room door taped off, when I did get access to my room the fumes were hazardous and no warning or i'm sorry was given! then upon check out on the 29th and paying final bill my card was then charged a day AFTER I left for an additional $250. I have to now dispute the charge with my card company. And calling Wyndham group with no resolution! they also cannot be found on Better Business Bureau! DO NOT STAY! Thieves!

Stayed three nights last week. On our last morning discovered blood spots on pillow case and bites on back of my head — — BED-BUGS… My wife had her own pillow and now we have little visitors at home. This might get expensive.

Clean rooms and super friendly staff.

Horrible experience. The breakfast was cheap and minimal plus watered down waffle mix. They provided 3 small towels for a double bed room and never provided more through our weekend stay. The TV hardly worked (the first time you turned it on there was no picture). At checkout I was never told of extra charges on my card, instead I had to find out when I looked at my bank statement and then dispute it!

This place sucks here because I have to be the rooms dirty old stink beds suck TV is a nightmare bring your own towels because the ones here are paper thin.

Really should not BELIEVE the reviews posted. Stayed on 5/17/14 — — this motel was very clean and employed the friendliest AMERICAN employees ever — — that were more than willing to help or answer any questions. Was hesitant to stay here from the online reviews — — but glad we did! Great price for a great room. Probably the best night's sleep in a very long time! THANK YOU!
