Chi and her team were there to assure an easy checkin as well as to be sure we had everything we needed for the family reunion. The drink tickets were a very nice touch! Thank you Kingsley Inn.

We had our second stay at Kingsley Inn, first in room 204 and this time room 203… both were wonderful! We came to watch trains and Chi and her team made us feel like we were family. Chi is so knowledgeable and an advocate of Fort Madison, we're excited for our next visit to see what's new in town! Beautiful property… we'll be back! ❤

We had a wonderful time seeing the history here. The service was perfect and all the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Our breakfast was great and the visit from Chewie the Yorkiepoo made us feel right at home. We'll be making this a regular trip with our family! Well done Kingsley Inn!

I can rave about this place enough! So ao Beautiful. Beautiful Historic Hotel very well maintained. Comfortable beds, the staff was so kind and helpful. The entire place was clean. I would highly recommend for a weekend away, romantic weekend, or girls trip.

Wonderful atmosphere very attentive staff many great areas for meetings, banquets, wedding, special events, etc.

Just did a quick one night stay. What a nice place to stay. Super friendly staff. My room was great. Loved hearing the nearby trains. They provide earplugs in the room as well as a white noise machine if you don’t want to hear them. I’ll be back.

Quaint little hotel in downtown Fort Madison! Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Walking distance to some cute and good eating establishments. Highly recommend a stop at Swed coffee shop right behind the hotel! We will stay there again!

Only stayed one night but enjoyed the room and atmosphere. Hope to return one day. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

They have really pretty rooms, and are super friendly! There's plenty of different room sizes to pick from that best suits you.

We first stayed at the Kingsley in January with my son’s entire wedding party. We had the rehearsal dinner downstairs and had River Rock cater the event. The food was delicious and the service was beyond compare. Chi was ever present and helped keep my nerves in check. The girls got ready in the Guest House which is beyond amazing and made for some truly awesome photos! We enjoyed their hospitality so much we booked an additional night at the last minute! Fast forward to the end of February… my daughter had some minor health issues and stresses of work and the pandemic sent us back to the Kingsley for a low-key weekend of some much needed R&R. We visited the unique shops downtown including Under the Sun, Stage Two, and Harvestville! When my kiddo started feeling poorly we just went back to the Inn for a quick nap. Then Chi gave us info on the Lake Cooper Tour. This turned out to be the best part of our weekend. From the bald eagles in Keokuk to the waterfall on Road River to the fun shops in Nauvoo it was just what the doctor ordered! Two thumbs up! Five Stars! Kudos to Chi an Chewi!

The Kingsley Inn was a quaint place! They thought of everything to maximize your stay! I loved the earplugs even though I did not need them! (I grew up with trains rolling through my backyard). I was impressed how quiet it was. The rooms were spacious and very clean! Thank you for a great stay!

The Kingsley Inn was really nice and the staff was very friendly! My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. They even had extra amenities available which made traveling away from home for work convenient and relaxing.

We booked a room at the Kingsley Inn for the trains and river views but found so much more. Chi and her excellent staff made us feel at home the minute we arrived. Be sure to check out the River Rocks Bar and Grill right next to the inn. We have already booked a return stay for 2021!

This is a Gem of a Hotel! It is unlike any place you have ever stayed at. It’s not a B&B, or a Hotel, It’s Unique! The attention to detail is unmatched as you feel you have stepped back in time. I Love The Kingsley Inn.

This bed and breakfast is the cutest thing I've ever seen! Not only was the bed super comfy but the rooms were clean, adorable, and just absolutely perfect. The owner made sure we were well taken care of and gave us pointers for things to do. We felt right at home! We booked this far before Covid-19 started to ruin life but we decided to go and seclude ourselves here anyways. Best decision and we will 100% be returning! Love the historical features of this small town.

Amazing weekend at the Kingsley Inn! Our family rented out the entire place for a wedding and it was perfect and beautiful. The new owner was exceptional and on top of everything the entire weekend. She felt like part of the family! I can’t wait to visit again, everything was perfect!

Great rooms, amazing management, best bed and pillows I’ve ever slept on, jacuzzi is spacious and the water is hot!, pet friendly, and within walking distance of a great Chinese restaurant, free Wi-Fi and tv, and a game room with a pool table that we had so much fun in! I highly recommend staying here!

This was our first time in Iowa, so staying at The Kingsley Inn made this trip memorable. The atmosphere is that of a bed & breakfast, not a chain hotel. Very large rooms filled with beautiful antiques! Lots of comfort and friendly hospitality. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who visits that region of Iowa.

The Parlor is a perfect space for a family gathering. Alot of space in addition to the pool table and TV area. The staff was super helpful. Definitely looking forward to next gathering there.

Wonder hotel. Totally unique experience. Really friendly staff, great food, very clean rooms with vintage furniture. The view of the river makes the stay perfect. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This was an excellent choice for me because of its convenient location to the downtown. Very ornate rooms make for a much different experience than a regular hotel. Yes, it is near a rail line, but it didn't take long to tune it out.

A very nice stay and a great alternative to chain lodging… the view of the Mississippi was great and for a train buff the mainline of the railroad was magnificent.

We had a lovely stay here last weekend! Our room was charming and full of character, we had delicious pastries in the morning, and checking in and out was an easy process. Highly recommend!

I have driven past this inn several times in recent years and admired its beauty and proximity to the river. Stayed here overnight on a road trip and what a restful and delightful experience! It is a beautifully restored (with modern updates) hotel on my favorite river — the Mississippi! Cleanliness is exceptional, conveniences are plentiful and the staff is incredible. The resident manager is very available and eager to make your stay the best and the housekeeper is delightful and obviously very efficient. Great stay! 5-star experience.

Great B & B. More like a old Victorian hotel, but that's a plus for me! Still have the personal touch and breakfast made for you. The restaurant on site is also a great plus! We'll definitely be back.

This hotel is the cutest and cleanest hotel to stay at. If you love shabby chic you will be in heaven. Comfortable beds great ambiance and the staff if so welcoming to us and our dogs. Atlas steakhouse is connected and there is a microbrewery right next door. The view of the river, park and fort Madison are stunning. You need to stay at this property!

Lovely clean inn at the center of a charming town. Super service. Friendly people. A perfect weekend get away. Personally cooked breakfast. Several excellent restaurants, shopping and historical sites within walking distance. We also took a scenic drive where we saw dozens of bald eagles on the river.

I absolutely love this place. My parents used to stay here and my husband took me here a year ago in April for our anniversary and I fell in love with this place. It is well worth every penny. Have stayed there five times since just to get away. Love the owner he is a great person, very welcoming. I will definitely be going back alot!

This is a refurbished hotel into beautifully decorated rooms and facilities. The manager, Bonnie, is a wonderful host. She personally prepares breakfast meals each day for the guests. I would highly recommend staying here.

This is an amazing old building! Clean rooms. Fantastic customer service. We stayed for 3 nights, and I would stay here again.

This place is awesome. My Love and I stayed here last night Aug. 6th, the Inn was empty except for us. Super nice people or should I say person. Thank you so much Bonnie Bell. I would highly recommend this Inn to every one. The inside is simply stunning, looks and feels from another era. I cannot say enough good things about Kingsley Inn! On and on, etc… etc.

We loved our stay. The room was nice and cool for summer temperatures. It was fun to have it decorated how it was. It was located right off the Mississippi River which was beautiful and interesting. We thought it was cool that we could hear the train (until it was the middle of the night and our baby woke up).

This is a hidden gem! We just happened on this place and are thrilled to have found it. The owner is amazing and the staff is friendly. The decor is beautiful and very clean. It's a short drive to Nauvoo. I can not think of one thing I would change about our experience here

Super nice place to stay. We loved it. Innkeeper really understands hospitality. Didn't notice the trains until the morning. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful old Victorian hotel. Room is very nice and comfortable. Quite large in fact. The only downside is the train station across the street. The trains are loud and frequent.

Staff was very nice, breakfast was delicious, room was clean with a comfortable bed. No refrigerator and one of the light bulbs in our room was burnt out when we arrived. The owner was nice.

I had dinner at Atlas which is attached. Very good beer selection.

I was at the Atlas Steak House. Great food, and besides the cackling of drunken college girls, and having one of them interrupt our meal so they could take a chair from our table, it was a decent experience. It helped to ask to be moved away from the cackling to another table.

The staff wasn't very welcoming. The trains went by often and through the night and were loud. The breakfast was mostly packaged food and not very tasty.

Some of the staff were not as welcoming and friendly as you would expect. There wasn't any information about the hotel in the rooms (map, breakfast, checkout times, etc). Breakfast was not very good, cereal, hard muffins… there were eggs, but there wasn't enough. The building was very pretty, but with the connected bar on the first level, it made you feel uneasy leaving your vehicle in the parking lot seeing some of the drunk guys that are there.

They are in the process of updating. It will be very nice when they finish.

Super cute, antique hotel! Loved the feel! Staff was super friendly & accommodating. Cute little breakfast room with great options — breakfast casserole, granola, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, bagels, cereal. Trains pass by all the time but I didn't even wake up. Steakhouse is connected.

Absolutely, without a doubt, amazing! Love the history, the layout and the Governor Suite is sweet! Fireplace, library, awesome closet, kitchen, atrium, servant's quarter's. This place is beautiful.

This place is awesome. If there is any drawback, it is right next to the railroad tracks, but they have done a good job of soundproofing. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the beds are very comfortable. I would recommend this Inn wholeheartedly.
