Andrew at the front desk made us feel welcome form the moment we arrived. Very helpful providing maps and details of the areas dining. Our room was perfect. Top floor and working fireplace.

Fantastic place to stay in San Francisco friendly staff, happy hour, comfortable rooms and goo location three blocks to Union Square.

Quaint hotel with a huge family room. My only complaint is the fact that I reserved for 3 people and there was one bed. A metal for was eventually found but one of us had to remove the mattress and sleep on the floor due to the discomfort. Other than that slight inconvenience, just about every member of staff was friendly and helpful. I was even contacted about an item I left behind after checking out. The hotel is in an excellent location.

The location is absolutely PERFECT! Staff was not very friendly but did help when asked. We had a huge room with fireplace on 5th floor. Lots of room for luggage and 2 separate sinks across from each other. Bathrooms have been updated and are really nice. Old hotel but clean. Easy walking to great restaurants shopping and cable car. Breakfast was ok.

What a lovely hotel, the fireplace in my room was. Breakfast was amazing. The elevator was amazing. The outdoor tables were amazing. Just book it. Got a great deal from Hotel Tonight.

We had a very pleasant experience, breakfast is available every morning and it's a variety of eggs, breads, yogurt and oatmeal. Our room was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The location is just 2 blocks from the cable car but it is quite crowded and $7 for a one way trip. We preferred the F trolley which takes you from Mission to Fisherman's wharf (goes all the way to Castro). Many options to eat and drink nearby and a market for basic groceries across the street. There are several intense hills, if you're not familiar with SF. I definitely prefer this spot to a large hotel. Soda and water were stocked in the fridge and were complimentary as was the Wi-Fi. Valet is $50 a night and operated by a 3rd party so it took 20-30 min to retrieve your vehicle, if you want to save a few dollars you could use one of the local garages usually runs $30 for 24 hours.

One of a kind experience! Outstanding hospitality paired with true genuine interest in their guests. We missed out on the complimentary wine tasting and got brought a whole bottle of red for free into our room. The design is retro antique without being 'Dusty'. And the elevator ♡… Complimentary breakfast had all the basic things in awesome quality. Couldn't have been any better.

This is a nice place to stay. On arrival at around 5pm we met a very friendly member of staff. We were told that our room wasn't quite ready so we had to wait an hour or so. We had complimentary food and a discounted room rate as the room wasn't ready. The room itself is very nice. It had everything we needed and the bed was amazing. The bathroom had just been kitted out too. The only downside was the amount of mess on the floor below as that was being renovated. When we were in our room during the day this was quite loud. There were also vociferous arguments by the cleaners down the hall. Overall this is a great place to stay, just not ideal when we stayed during the renovations.

At first I was annoyed that my employer had chosen this place for my convention trip. There's only one elevator and it's ancient and doesn't work all of the time. The Wi-Fi signal in my room on the 4th floor was terrible. The room had no A/C controls. These are all modern amenities you expect from your normal branded hotel's that market themselves to business travelers. But I quickly fell in love with the charm of the place. The elevator is quirky and fun, the room was very comfortable, the staff were so nice and helpful and accommodating. The location is amazing, walking or driving distance to everything, right in the middle of town. I didn't expect to enjoy my stay at white swan inn so much but I did!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly, and my room was pretty quiet (top floor). My room was also stocked with some waters and soda which is complimentary and refilled with housekeeping each day. Definitely has a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend this place anytime.

Comfortable relaxing old world style place. Definitely not your usual hotel, more like as it describes itself, an English B&B. Nice breakfast, excellent customer service. If you enjoy a more relaxed environment this place is highly recommended.

What a gem! The massive twin room was perfect for my daughter and I. It was so nice to explore the city during the day, then come back to the cozy fireplace at night. The included breakfast, the free sodas and water stocked in the mini fridge, and the all day coffee, hot chocolate, and tea all helped reduce the cost of visiting SF. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. This is our new go to hotel in the city!

Its cool hotel with a 60's decor. I was impress for my first time visiting Frisco. Everything is so close by; union square is literally down the street. I would totally stay at The White Swan on my next visit.

Small charming hotel recently renovated with an offbeat and assumed neo-retro British decoration. I loved the fireplace in the room… Cosy atmosphere Guaranteed! Spacious and very clean room, staff available and attentive, cookies at will in the entrance and late afternoon until 6pm American "snack" in the Hotel lounge.

Very happy we stayed here. The staff looked after us very well. They have nice rooms. A good breakfast and a wine and snack happy hour.

This hotel was so charming, unique, and made our trip to San Francisco feel more authentic. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond. Really had great interactions with Leon and Daniel! Delicious free breakfast everyday and homemade cookies in lobby! Hard to get free stuff while in SF. Also, fireplaces in every room. Loved this place!

Superb service and people, and very quaint facilities. I honestly wasn't expecting this from an inn in a city the size of San Francisco, but couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Our queen deluxe room was more like a suite. The dining area and breakfast were the best we had on our 11 day trip to multiple cities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Check in was a breeze! Our room was perfectly prepared and the inn is very cute. The floral wall paper may be a bit much if it were not for the other decorative additions that made it feel more modern and hip. The included breakfast was amazing, and even though we visited in August the fire place in the room was on almost every evening. Over all a fantastic stay!

I got a relatively large room, full of character. Warm and cosy. Guys who work here are so friendly and sweet. Really makes you feel welcome. Would definitely come back.

Location is right in the middle of everything, making most sites and attractions within walking distance. The rooms are quaint with an old, classic styling. Service was fantastic and friendly.

Location is on the edge of central San Fran. Just a few blocks from union Square. The hotel is a lovely boutique English style one. Our room was a good size and the staff very friendly. Only caveat is they do like to vacuum cleaner the hallways a bit too early. Breakfast is small but surprisingly varied.

Simply fantastic "boutique" hotel. Loving every minute here. From the in room fireplace, to the free sodas, water and 24/7 coffee, tea and cocoa the White Swan is great! Convenient to Union Square and all city transportation. Lots of little places for a quick meal or necessary supplies. Definitely would come back if we get back to the West Coast. I'll be telling our friends about the White Swan.

I prefer boutique hotels and decided to try the White Swan. What a great find. The decor is fun and the location is great (close to Union and Chinatown/North Beach but away from the hustle and bustle of those areas). However, what makes this hotel outstanding is the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Love the amenities like breakfast and bottled water. The parlor is a nice place to unwind before flying out of the city. I think I've found my base whenever I visit SF.

Absolutely LOVE this place! It was our first stay here although we get to SF every 2-3 months so we will definitely be back! Everyone who works there was so friendly and wanted to make sure we were well taken care of. From the wine reception to the breakfast (included) to the fresh baked cookies each day to the fireplace in the room — it was all fabulous! We will definitely be back!

The best mistake I ever made! — — > Completely screwed up some reservations and got directed to the WSI… what amazing people! Totally bent over backwards to make it the best possible stay… Great room… great reccs for dinner… you name it… Kyle is on a mission to totally keep himself on the topside of "what goes around, comes around"… Leon is auditioning for sainthood… This place is what you always hoped for, but probably never found… We will be back!

The hotel is like a hidden gem in San Francisco, its type is B&B between the hotel and the hotel. This is the best way I can think of to describe it. We stayed here for 5 days, all received great service. It has a good geographical position, surrounded by local restaurants. Hotel breakfast buffet every day, this type quite a lot of breakfast, oatmeal, quiche, fresh fruit, pastries, dry cereal. Super nice in room coffee, brewed is breakfast. Also I like …

Wonderful hotel with very friendly staff! Free breakfast and wine at night. Everything was great about this little hotel, but for the sofa bed. That was extremely uncomfortable and made it very hard to sleep. It could get a bit loud as well, walls are thin. Still, highly recommended!

Had the queen suite, nice room and friendly staff.

Fireplace in every room and really good buffet breakfasts. (not fancy, just nice). Close to everything, easy walk to cable cars and buses. Staff was very friendly and helped with everything. We really enjoyed our stay.

Always stay at this conveniently located, customer focused establishment. The staff is always very polite and helpful. We enjoy the breakfast and early afternoon wine and snacks as well as our comfortable room with cozy fireplace. Parking is of course pricey in the city but handled with great ease and promptness. Walking to Union Square is a snap, great access to cable cars, and can walk to so many places such as Chinatown.

The room was ok but many months later their management company has still done nothing to compensate me for the damage their valet caused to my truck camper. They don't return phone calls or emails.

My Mom loves this place. It reminds me of an English country B&B, only with the location of downtown San Francisco. The rooms are large by SF hotel standards, and the bathrooms are beautiful — some even have claw-foot tubs. The serve a delightful breakfast, and in the afternoon, they have a wonderful tea service with snacks and wine. The staff is very helpful too. My mother is a bit physically disabled, and the staff were always helpful making sure she was comfortable and got to were she needed to go with ease. The location is also wonderful. Close enough to Union Square, but far enough away to be on the quiet side. And if you are looking for a fun night out, the male strip club is a few doors down (kidding).

What a wonderful little hotel situated right downtown close to everything. Staff was wonderful, the rooms are great, the place has loads of character. Looking forward to a return visit to San Francisco, we will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

We just returned from San Francisco and a week at the White Swan. Three generations traveling together and we loved the White Swan. I have stayed there before but it was the first time for my 26 year old daughter. We all agreed it is the perfect hotel for a week in SF. Perfect location. Large comfortable rooms with outstanding front desk staff. They answered all our questions and booked excellent tours for us. The breakfast was delicious and changed daily. Happy Hour was a nice bonus at the end of the day. There is no doubt that all of us shall return to the White Swan. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

Excellent hotel with lots of character, comfortable rooms, and great location. The wine and cheese reception in the evening is a nice touch. You can sit and talk with other guests or just hang out with the people in your group. The complimentary breakfast isn't elaborate but is definitely convenient. Not a hotel for young children, though.

What a wonderful place to stay. Great location! Excellent service, nice rooms with a cozy fireplace. Great breakfast and wine and cheese hour. But my favorite was definitely the home made cookies. All the right little touches that made you feel welcome and at home. Nice list of good restaurants close by. Would definately recommend and come back again.
