Was delightfuly beautiful queit and modern for the price point. Great hotel!

Cosy and friendly but need more effort on aminities. Bring your ear plugs.

Small rooms, but comfortable and affordable. No concierge/security at night, but the area is safe and the room key let's you into the building. Nice balconies and comfortable beds even when staying for a week. One block from public transportation with plenty of food options in the area.

Price/performance is unfortunately not correct. Far too noisy creaky floors and beds, and only a small breakfast.

Perfect location, just a few minutes' walk from the lake promenade. Modern and tastefully decorated hotel. Room was spacious, spotless, well equipped and exceptionally quiet. Bed was really comfortable. Delicious and abundant breakfast with many typical Swiss products. Very professional and friendly staff.

Nice clean quiet rooms, glad there were no rugs because of my allergies.

Breakfast not before seven — although breakfast is already almost completely built up, one is not left in the breakfast room — not even 5 minutes before seven!

Pleasant place with good service, but the creaky parquet floor was driving me crazy and I was in the same room. Good luck to anyone in the room below.

First, the receptionis gave us room 103. My husband felt dizzy by the sloping floor and very narrow room. Then we moved to 302. Wide and not sloping anymore. The Wi-Fi connection is poor. Bathroom ok, breakfast not included 15 CHF with generous portion and variety. Quite environment. Near Lake Zurich. Transportation is not free from hotel in Zurich but you can buy from this hotel. Average assessment.

Wonderful little but well packed hotel. It's far more than 3 stars hotel according to service and accommodation.

Smart and quite stylish place to stay. It's an interesting blend of contemporary glass bathrooms and decor in rooms with high ceilings and parquet flooring. It's not mind blowing and does feel quite similar to many other hotels so the 'design' part of the name doesn't really mean any significant. Comfortable beds with a wide selection of pillow options and standard teas and coffees in the room. No air con makes for a warm night if it's been a hot day in Zurich but big doors to open and a fan can help alleviate the heat a bit. The wooden floors can be noisy but they provide ear plugs to help if the upstairs neighbours are making lots of noise. And if you are on the front of the hotel the road is noisy at times so getting a good sleep on a hot night is unlikely to happen unless you don't care about being hot and sleep like a log. All in all it's quite smart and comfortable but it's not on the revisit list.

It was very nice. A bit weird at first but then the room were gorgeous. The place is in the best place of Zürich. Not that far from center. We walked around 15 min max at normal pace to arrive in mid center. It was great. Even breakfast is good.

The Lady's First is an attractive concept, but the styling is dissapointing. The sauna and health suite (no gym though) upstairs is a nice bonus, however the hotel can be let down by the service. At breakfast you can be left waiting for a while until the shoestring staff realise you are in the dining room. The lack of a late night reception can also be frustrating. The rooms are cute, but the lack of soft carpeting can mean that a good night's sleep is ruined by your fellow guests arriving at odd hours in noisy high heels. I did have a sound night'S sleep the three days I was there. No air conditioning so that you can't close the windows in hot weather and the street is quite noisy at night.

This hotel presents a bit of a conundrum, on one hand it presents itself as an upscale “design” hotel, whereas in other aspects it is a more modest ordinary hotel. Based on the description on their Web site I expected something very special, whereas what we experienced was something very mundane. It was not what I would describe as a “full service” hotel; other than breakfast there were no restaurant facilities and no reception desk support after about 10 PM. It is very conveniently located for the lake and is short walk to Bellevue and another 5 minutes to the “old town” and shopping center. The check-in was efficient; although the reception staff was all pleasant and spoke excellent English (as did most of the hotel staff) ; they were often overwhelmed by the smallest problem and showed lack of experience and training. The entrance to the hotel and lobby itself is up about 5 steps from the street, however, there is a lift to accommodate a wheel chair and the elevator is a generous size; the public rooms (lobby and restaurant are on one accessible floor). Oddly the rooms can only be enter with great difficulty by wheel chair as there is a high step under the doors, so it is not really a handicap accessible hotel. The “suite” was really just a modest room. The bathroom was an opaque glass walled cubicle carved out of the pre-existing bedroom placed directly in the room. The bed was a double size and but was not of good quality or very comfortable.
