After dinner we wanted to have a drink at the bar however 3 tables empty (reserved) in meanwhile restaurant half empty, when asked if thy could seat us we were bluntly told “no”
So we tried Pavillon!

The staff at this hotel will cater to your every need and desire. Jeremie and his crew are the best of the best concierges anywhere in the world — if it can be done, they will get it for you. Period. Rooms are very classically appointed but beautiful. Rooms on the water are great and quiet. Baurs is great for dinner and open late every night by Swiss standards (so not that late). No wonder this hotel keeps rating highly in all rankings.

Great hotel and the most amazing Restsurant! I will be back :) ) ). Here the first time ever I got a FREE dinner (invitation by the chef! ). The food was stunning, a sommelier was very knowledgeable and Iberica jamon was melting in my mouth. A remodel/rethinking worked wonders! Highly recommended :) ) )

Wow, we just arrived and after a quick tour, EVERY place in the hotel is 1st Class. While European hotels can be famous for small guest rooms, our king bed room is spacious and beautifully furnished. It's a shame that we are not here long enough to enjoy the Michelin 2-star Pavilion dining experience.

I was visiting Zürich and attending a conference at Baur Au Lac.
The rooms are aesthetically pleasing and well decorated. It is spacious. The service is impeccable and people are friendly.
Our breakfast and lunch is utterly delicious and up to par amongst the top hotels in the world. So nicely done. I would recommend people to stay here and or attend events here where the ambiance is great.

The beautiful hotel is practically on the first line (across the street) of the coast in zurich. Not bad rooms and very good and quality breakfast. A great terrace in the garden where you can just drink coffee and you can have a little snack during the day.

The Grande Dame of Zurich is showing it’s age. While it is a nice hotel, with a central location and good staff, it is no longer the best in Zurich and not really worth the price.

Nice hotel but felt the restaurant was not up to standard.

Outstanding location. Discreet staff. Large Suites. Very accessible to top locations in Zurich.

One can slightly see a rat below the chair, shocked by the situation it took a moment to get the camera, it was unbelievable to see a rat running around the entrance of the kitchen and the entire staff was chatting by the entrance without paying attention to the guests let alone the rat. A waiter came and took away our drinks which were not empty and when we told him to put them back, he gave us an attitude. This happened Sunday June 17 at 10 pm, so it is unfortunate that the manager on duty did not take responsibility for the 5 star terrace. We had family staying at the hotel visiting from abroad and it is a pity that such an establishment is not living up to its name.

Great ambience, very good food — simply Luxury Lifestyle. Only today, we had to wait forever for our drinks, but certainly a one-off exception.

A wonderful and romantic hotel, ideal for weddings. The premises are suitable for a dreamlike wedding for 120 people and I can only say you are in the best hands. The bar enchants with its charm alone and the food is excellent, as are the service and staff. Thanks for the great evening at the Wedding Network in May 2018.

Excellent place for dinner. You can even bask in the knowledge that Blatter and co were finally taken down here.

At a five-star hotel it is probably not possible that you have to let the guests get off on the valley road One —, because the space at the main entrance is full of parked cars.

Very nice garden to have a meal or a coffee. Attracts wealthy-looking who shop around Bahnhofstrasse but don't be intimidated by that. The view is worth a quick cup of coffee and perhaps a dessert and you will be served just as nicely. Sunny days are wonderful here.

In the Baur au Lac I just visited the lobby bar, "Le Hall". But I can say that the place is lovely and the service was impeccable: the staff is kind, friendly and very professional! A great selection of tea, cocktails and fodd if you wish to have a meal there. Highly recommended!

The afternoon tea service was quite the experience. Such an exquisite setting and the attentive service was quite beyond compare. Their tea selection wonderful and that house honey (produced by a charming bee colony on the hotel grounds) elevated their amazing scones to another level entirely. Thank you for making Zurich such a fantastic memory and we hope to return soon.

We love to enjoy an English Afternoon Tea whenever we have the chance to travel. The one we had today at the Baur au Lac was the best we ever had. Not only because of that great Tea menue, but especially because of the delicious pastry (Chocolate mousse with the Baur au lac chocolate, best clotted cream ever) and the friendly staff. The best luxury hotel in Zurich: wonderful and attentive personnel who remember your name from the first site, gorgeous lobby with beautiful flowers, terrace, fitness centre and suite with breath-taking view on lake and river, amazing garden with unique bee house, very delicious Michelin star restaurant with wide variety of delicious food and drinks, very comfortable rooms so I felt myself like at home. I like honey, chocolate and wine produced exclusively by Baur au lac. Have Today on a recommendation in the Baur au lac for a single room booked for 490, — ChFranken. There is a tiny bed with a hard mattress is waiting for me, until now, not a wink. By the way, there are single rooms only with an unreasonable courtyard view on the nasty glass roofs. Otherwise, there is a single room with traffic noise. The room is tiny, carelessly and cheaply renovated. Cheap, small white marble bathroom tiles, DIY quality, as well as gray, cheap granite, mass-produced goods. Under the washbasin can be discovered, then not chromed pipes, but cheap plastic. The Plumbing — The Most Simple Equipment. The only one in the bathroom which was good, the body lotion, a no-name product (usually in Hotels of this price category at least, Bulgari shower gel), was but as a foot cream excellent. The carpet scuffed. Curtains ok. The device consists of Repliquen and the back part from the bed in red faux leather from the saddler's cheaply cobbled together. A Lich view, the dog gets to the reception treats, 10 biscuits. For this, the dog pays, but also 45 ChFranken per day. This is about a year's supply of treats, at least of this variety… Also most advantageous. To on-ramp now and a Garage. The driveway to the Hotel is tiny and the Garage looks like a tiny Stall by setting Accidentally the cars, to think, of course a gigantic price of I 40 ChFranken. The Bar and Restaurant, not surprised in the evening, empty (me, I try to make it better).

An absolutely wonderful Hotel with fantastic views of the surrounding area. My only beef is the FBI Agents that came in and arrested me and my FIFA friends. Guessing prison won't be as nice.

This place really is of the highest caliber. The staff are respectful, friendly, and ever-accommodating without being over the top. No matter the request, it will be taken care of. The service is outstanding in every aspect, from the room service to the housekeeping, etc. The only issue I ever had in the entirety of my stay here (quite awhile) was with a laundry mishap. They handled the situation so professionally and respectfully I didn't even bother accepting their replacement offers/compensation. Heck, with everything they do for you (for example, if you want to take a private jet to Paris for the weekend, consider it arranged), I felt embarrassed even mentioning it. Food is of good quality, in my opinion (contrary to other posts). While it may be expensive, remember you are in Zurich. (and you are paying to stay at the Baur au Lac? ) If you want (and expect) the finest, this is your only option for this city. You can't go wrong with this hotel. Was recently in a fancy hotel in another European city, and found myself comparing everything to the Baur au Lac, (this would have never been an issue at the Baur au Lac! ) ha.

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure to stay at the fabulous Baur au Lac late September 2013 for a few days. We were absolutely delighted with the hotel — from the first Meet and Greet upon arrival with the taxi to our departure! The staff is efficient, friendly, helpful, and completely "natural" in communitcating with us as guests and not subservient, which is often the case in hotels of this standard, and even very open to good humor! Just great! The location is unique — an oasis in the middle of Zurich with garden and sea views! Service and food / beverage quality at its best! Excellent value for money. Congratulations to Mr. Andrea Kracht and his fantastic team! And thank you for a few unforgettable days at the Baur au Lac! We'll be back and very happy to recommend it to all our friends and customers with conviction.
