Our room was clean, comfortable, and, most importantly, close to all the “must see” places in Zurich. The staff were friendly and helpful — they even booked our return shuttle to the airport.
The bathtub is great for soaking, but the wall is so high it would be a problem for those with mobility issues.
There were two bottles of mineral water on the desk when we arrived. This was greatly appreciated after arriving from the airport. And there were two mini tobblerones on the pillows — a very nice touch.
There is an elevator that runs from the street level to the fourth floor or a lovely circular staircase from reception on the first floor up to the fourth floor. The attached photo is of the entry staircase from the street level to the reception area on the first floor.
The hotel door is secured at night and guests have key access.

Hotel in the city centre at a good price to enjoy the different activities that Zurich has to offer. I was with my partner and we really enjoyed every corner of Zurich. Its food, a nice bike ride and its history.

Tidy and big rooms. Friendly staff and they also have a good American restaurant at the ground floor.

Good location, room is small but clean. It is good for the cheaper rate. Room is clean and service is good. Plenty of small eats and shops nearby.

Great place to start exploring Zürich. Excellent breakfast.

Staff are friendly. The restaurant below is very good. However, the rooms and facilities are quite old. It is alright for a quick stopover for Zurich's price range.

The Equipment is a bit fancy, but everything is clean and fine.

Central Hotel, cozy, friendly and polite staff, every day they do find bottles of water, they gave me on my request another pillow and umbrella. Good value for money especially for Zurich. The only downside is not for no, the local downstairs making music late.

The air conditioning wasnt working and so we had to keep the windows open during the night. The hotel is located above a very noisy bar and restaurant and therefore couldnt sleep all night.

We won't be staying at this Motel ever again! We were miserably with out any air conditioner, n your litter fan wasn't worth crap! Sorry but that's how we felt all night n this morning (like crap). It was cooler outside than in our room, we felt better when we left your motel!

Fantastically located near BelleVue in Luzern. The place is noisy until late at night especially if you staying there over a weekend. The restaurant downstairs which is a part of the hotel is extremely good and certainly worth a meal if you can get reservations.

Welcome to the Hotel California. Even when you book, you have the Eagle's title in your ear and will not get rid of the earwig during the entire stay. The hotel welcomes guests with printed lyrics in the menu and in the room. Unlike in the eerie original, however, you feel right at home here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nicely decorated in American style. Each room is named after a Californian place and the doors are painted appropriately. It is warm, friendly and modern furnished and thankfully not in modern chic, but authentic and cozy. After three days of stay we almost had the feeling of belonging to the family. It hardly bothered when the operation times you rausrautschte. Nevertheless, everything was very professional. When there was a problem with the shower, we were immediately offered an alternative room. Breakfast is especially recommended. Unlike in the hotels nowadays, the focus is not on the buffet, but on the extra menu. Baked toasts, pancakes, eggs in various variants, sausages and cheese platters are offered there. With 10 francs, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. It is not even possible to find something similar at the bakery in Zurich. Overall, therefore, three stars: one for the location, one for the atmosphere and one for the breakfast. Absolutely recommended!

Hotel california is a fun, kitchy establishment. It has an american southwest theme to it and a downstairs attached restaurant "papa joe's". The rooms are clean and comfortable. As a change of pace in europe, the rooms have spacious tubs and a showerhead as opposed to a slim standing shower only.

Nice Hotel right in the middle of town. Small railway station about 300 meters from hotel direct to Airport at 6 francs one way. Nice restaurant at level 1

Value for money, not that great.

The hotel has a great vibe and the hotel staff were very helpful with tours and how to get to the airport. The bedding needs improvement as the blanket was thin, as was the pillow. The air conditioning doesnt seem to reflect what tou change the settings to so the room became too hot and stuffy. Sleep with the air con on and a window open!

The decoration is quite successful during the 1950s, very detailed, very friendly, and very good service.

Lied about the AC, small rooms.

Hotel practice planned overbooking. While I had booked long in advance via booking, despite a reservation confirmed by credit card, at my arrival the receptionist tells me coldly that the hotel is full… but they have a schedule (a 10km by taxi) called 'california house' in which a room waiting for me… pathetic…
AVOID ABSOLUTELY!

Great hotel, lovely stuff, great food in the breakfast. Only issue is the parking, which the closest one is bit far (about 400m) and expensive.

Charged 150chf to come open the door after midnight. You need to know that before booking and arriving late.

Visited this Hotel/Bar/Restaurant a 2nd time on Silvester in Zürich and i'll be there a 3rd, 4th, 5th, … times again! Very cool and stylish central hotel in Downtown of Zürich. Rooms are very american style, modern and clean as well. Free Wi-Fi, Internet Terminal, TV and all the technical stuff is included. Breakfast is included and got a ranking of 9/10 in total. We don't visit the Bar/Restaurant right now, because on Silvester there are hundreds of them outside along the bridges and Downtown. (Festival) Anyway, it looks great and seems to be great. Always full of people. I'm looking forward to be here again. :-)

Great hotel for a few days. Free Internet (Wi-Fi) and everythink is clean.
