Hotel under renovation to start with. Night staff was somehow friendly, day staff wasn't. Breakfast, which was anything but good, was presented in a bedroom across the office, transformed into a "dining room" during the renovation… then we were told to eat in our own bedroom…

After seeing peoples posts that the hotel was great I was wondering how they could say that. Except for the top floor that was redone in my wing the rest of the wing is outdated and dirty. I had to wear socks in my room and by the end of the weekend they were dirty. Housekeeping can only do so much. The carpets were in desperate need of deep cleaning. The hallways smelled as well. I went to the restaurant for breakfast. The food was average. The bacon was lukewarm. My husband said the breakfast sandwich I brought him was good. My husband forgot his toothbrush and was told that I would have to buy one. If I had not just come back from CVS I would have gone back. The vent in my bathroom as well as two other people in my group did not work. The saving grace is the housekeeping staff. They were accommodating and friendly.

I wish there was a lower rating that I could give. Stayed at this nightmare from the start motel. I should have ran the moment I drove into the parking lot… I understand they are under construction, but it look like something out of a war movie. Very poor signage that attempts to direct you to the Lobby. Very rude receptionist, I believe her name was Morgan? It was like I was an interruption in her personal entertainment time… (she was far to busy watching a movie to take my reservation). Garbage everywhere in the halls, once in the room we were not disappointed… stains on the sheets, pillows that looked like they have had every type of body fluid on them, patches on what I guess they call a comforter. The walls are thin enough that you could have a conversation with the people in the room next to you. Breakfast in a make shift room… thank goodness for the near by fast food. Spoke with what I am assuming is some type of manager in the “Lobby” about our concerns, (feeling unsafe, not secure building, the loud construction noise early in the am, very strong smell of pot outside our room, state of sheets, pillows…) treated like we were just a bother. Gave the feeling of just pay your bill and get the hell out. Thankful we traveled with our own pillows and had a couple blankets in the van. Left the feeling that we may need to visit the Doctor for a update in our tetanus shots after our stay. Please think twice about staying here.

Understand they are under construction but they could discount room's for lack of service available during this time… what a mess not impressed a standard room for one night still cost 170.00 no ice machine elevator carpet was lose and you would trip over it. Hopefully when renos are done it improves…

I used their roof top pool and hot tub as part of the Spa Utopia experience. The pool is shallow but heated, hot tub had jets and was adequately hot. The tiles felt dated but the view was excellent. It would have been better if there were no kids screaming their heads off.

The hotel is currently under construction. It wasn't listed on the website, but there are major renovations taking place here. In a few weeks when the Renovations are done it will be great, but until then stay elsewhere.

+ The place is under renovation, but I don't mind that thing… The room was very nice looking… I slept good. Bed was comfortable. Staff were nice… — The only thing is, looks like they doesnt really clean the room. I found a dirty used pair of socks hiding underneath the pillow on the couch. So disgusting! No place to hang the towel in the washroom. Nothing to place the shampoos and soap in the shower. Food: + Fair enough. — the orange juice looks like its been sitting outside for a long time alreay. Not that cold anymore.

Was under construction when I was there and it wasn't very pleasant I hope it's better than next time I would visit.

Hotel is still in the decoration, originally read the introduction said in the decoration, thought that the evaluation is last year should have been installed fixed, the results are still in the decoration, but the room has been renovated or good, photos are in the public comments at that time to stay, turn around, customer service is also very good, although communication is not convenient, stay or provide convenience, Breakfast you want in the decoration can have what level, here again, Canadians are very good, because in the domestic driving is not to open lights, we go out when the day is not black, to Google introduced a meal to eat, you understand the mistake, people closed, a car parked next to us to say hello, the original did not open the lights in remind us, I really like the people of Canada, and I'm going to Canada for a holiday every year.

The worst hotel in which I set foot, the rooms are renovated but poorly insulated, we heard the conversations of the neighbors of rooms.
1 washcloth for 3 people, we are answered to use hand towels to wash…
From the mold to the pool to the Exacto blade on the carpet, this renovated hotel should be demolished instead of renovating…

The hotel is currently under renovations, but nonetheless staff is clean, and respectful, cleaning services are diligent, and rates are very reasonable. I will stay here again.

Very clean room, good service. We accept dogs, one more! Close to several restaurants and amenities. However, lack of soundproofing…

Hotel is under construction Rooms are clean but exterior and halls look and feel like a construction zone. Nothing was mentioned on the booking site about this.

Cozy, they were doing renovations when we visited, but the front desk staff were very pleasant. The only thing was the Wi-Fi, it was a bit chaulky and if you were watching something it freezes and take a few minutes to load. Other then that I would def return.

Oh, The front desk that worked Friday Jan 12 was so nice and friendly It was her and only her that got the 2 star rating. The Hotel was dirty, No Soap, Blankets ripped, Door broken (slam to shut it) Blankets are ripped with holes, Makes me question the last time it was clean, Room is so small, Bathtub had (black curly hair) in it, Furniture to plug in damaged. I paid 150 a night NO ONE should pay more then 100 to stay here. My room was a king with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was AWFUL, Springy blankets were ripped literally the blankets had holes in it, I was afraid of bed bugs or lice. I am so disgusted that anyone is allowed to run a hotel like this. I have pictures.

Here’s why I will never stay here again: Bad customer service. Booked one night with kids on the way to Toronto from Montreal over the holidays. Called ahead to make sure pool was open. Yes. But they neglected to tell me it wasn’t well heated, and hot tub was growing green algae. So kids couldn’t use the pool. Pool for kids was main reason for staying here. So contacted them to complain and hoping to get explanation, but customer service person didn’t care. Apparently the temperature was adequate and she made me feel like I was lying. Anyway. Waste of time calling. I will not be staying here again. If you’re thinking of staying here, don’t assume everything will be working. Make sure to call ahead and ask many detailed questions!

It's cheap but the service could be better!

Bed was comfortable but their was tare in our blanket. Room temperature constantly fluctuate was annoying Also found lots of red ants in bathroom when complained had no apology just gave our deposit and was sent on our way. For price it was okay.

Very friendly staff. Simple amenities. The waffles over breakfast were a nice touch! Overall great for what it is.

Cheap but dated. Few things broken or missing in room. Sink didn't drain, maintenance was not available until the next day and they didn't show up. Good pressure in the shower, but no plug in the bathtub and no way to get one. Empty soap dispenser in the shower. Pool OK. Hot tub broken. Basic breakfast, nothing hot except the waffle machine and toasts. OK for one night. Would not stay more than that.

Well priced. However, our fridge wasn’t plugged in. No shampoo or soap. And the breakfast made myself and 2 friends sick a bit after eating it. But it’s within a fair distance to a lot of places. Stayed 1 night.

Ok so now that it’s been over a month. I’ll be leaving my opinion. This hotel is EXTREMELY DIRTY!, I WORKED here & saw multiple bugs constantly running around the hotel and in rooms. There is holes all throughout the hotel, 90% of the housekeepers don’t actually wash the tub or the toilet, they DO NOT wash the duvets & they never wash the dishes in the hotel, simply put them under hot water, … ew. Don’t get a job here!. They will NOT pay you!. It’s been well over a months and a half and I still haven’t been paid (even though I have contacted them, twice) & now will be going to the labour board. I suggest if you like having a CLEAN stay, not to come here. The bugs are crazy & The rooms are extremely over priced. Especially since they can’t even change their ripped up, stained curtains.

If you like : hotels dated from about 1982/ plaster falling from the ceiling/ people smoking pot outside your window/ TV remotes not working/ stains on your rooms carpeting/ microwave from 1983/ and an overwhelming feeling your car will be broken into… then this place is for you. The other reviews are out to lunch. Renovations or not, you guessed it, its a sh*thole.

It's cheap, which is great but you get what you pay for. The bedrooms are kind of in rough shape. One of the beds didn't have a comforter which I thought was kind of weird but could only assume they didn't put it on the bed to save money on laundry. The shower in the room we stayed in barely worked as all of the water went into the tub instead of coming out of the shower head. There were leakage spots on the ceiling and the walls were peeling back. They were also doing some work there which was happening on the outside of the building, outside our room, so it was loud. Also, they have a pool and hottub but they're not maintained properly! WAY too much chlorine in it! To the point where you couldn't even get in because the vapor from it was so strong! Also, it felt a little odd to have all of the doors to the building just unlocked so anyone could get in. Would feel a lot more secure if you had to use the room key.

Decent room for the price but nothing overwhelming. Bed was comfortable. Free breakfast was great! Enjoyed the waffles!

The lobby smells a little of smoke but other than that everything was nice and clean. Didn't go in the pool but it looks like it was recently redone and looks beautiful. Bed was comfy and we had tons of soft, fluffy pillows.

Beds are supper comfortable, staff are fantastic. Hotel is dated, shower didn't work. Felt a little dirty cause of the age and improvement that need to be done. Love having a fridge and microwave. :)

Very nice rooms. They're a little old and dark, but the size is great. Good breakfast. Something tasted weird in the waffle mix, and when I complained nothing was done. Otherwise very happy with the stay!

Excellent room. We were warned that the hotel was booked up but we didn't have any problems with noise despite the warnings. Bed was great. Excellent bathrooms and amenities (microwave, Keurig, mini fridge, large flat screen tv). Easy check in and check out. Pool was crowded but it makes sense because the hotel was busy. Continental breakfast was great with waffle maker and muffins among the usual fare. Good location as well, not too far from anything in Kingston.

Hotel is in bad need of repair and maintenance. No lock on the patio door. Very old and outdated! Wi-Fi is crap. This hotel was filthy dirty. Carpets we disgusting! The area where breakfast was serves was just filthy. Stains everywhere and looked like it had never been cleaned in months. Only thing saved us was the beds were comfortable and clean. I will never stay again!

This was the most unsanitary, unclean — DISGUSTING hotel I have ever stayed in. I didn't even want to walk around barefoot in my room. Smeared stains on the walls. Linens smelled. The bathroom was disgusting and not cleaned, no soap, carpets were so soiled, the SMELL of the room made me want to vomit and the breakfast was a joke! Literally served on an old broken pool table! Flies flying around, hardboiled eggs that lord knows when they were cooked! They advertise free Wi-Fi which DIDN"T WORK and we were on the first floor close to the front reception. Phone did not work. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY! Pool water wasn't even heated. ZERO out of 5 stars! BE WARNED!

Staff is very good and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

When we arrived last night there was blood on the sheets but we were too tired to make a fuss about it so we agreed to tell them in the morning. When we told the lady at the front desk she was very kind and apologetic. To be clear, we payed the full price of the room and gave a tip, we just wanted them to know. We then went to leave and a manager intercepted us and said that she couldn't know that the blood wasn't from US and that we had also ruined a towel. We apologized for the towel but made it very clear that because of the blood we expected to not pay for it. She said that wouldn't be possible as she wasn't sure they could get the dye out, which was ridiculous, as it wasn't much dye. She was incredibly rude and we eventually insisted on refunding our tip because it is one thing to have accidental blood on the sheets and another to insist that we might have put it there. Incredibly rude manager, would never stay there again!

Good accommodation at a good price, breakfast included (waffles! ). Staff always friendly and helpful, indoor pool nice to relax.

Great location next to a lot of food and bars. Right off the highway and easy to get to as you go into town.

Pretty sure the maid stole my bag my dirty laundry… and when I called the front… they denied ever taking the bag. Pfft… ridiculous.

This is the best inn in Kingston its better than a hotel. The staff are super friendly. The breakfast is amazing. Came here on new years eve for 2 nights. I would really recommend this hotel. And its not that far away from stores its pretty near.

Is the side to 10, 000 pesos.

Good, for the cost. Decent breakfast. Nice pool. Standard room. Lots to do around that area of Division St.

Stayed here twice, first visit was great, the guy on in the evening very helpful. My second visit the blonde woman at the desk was dismissive, made me feel like my checking in interferred with her plans to stare at the wall. Later a manager walked into my room while I was changing, didn't even knock, barely managed to apologize, then ignores me in the lobby. Second visit really put me off, not staying here again.

Great hotel for the price. Everything in room is clean. Very happy after reading horrible reviews I was worried. Would stay here again.

Noisy. My room had TERRIBLE sound proofing. We could easily hear our neighbor's TV through the wall. Then at night, it took me hours to fall asleep because of a LOUD electrical pulsing noise that was probably from someone else's air conditioner (I turned mine off in a failed bid to get some quiet). Our HDTV's remote was WET when we arrived (hopefully from being desanitized? ), and most channels were analog so they looked terrible. The room generally looked like it should have been renovated years ago — the bathroom lighting was dim, the shower curtain rod was rusty, and the desk was so worn out that it looked like they'd picked it out of someone's trash. The hotel's Wi-Fi was decent, except when it inexplicably disappeared at one point. There was also a real shortage of electric outlets for recharging phones and tablets on (use a power bar, Sideshow Bob! ).

Just recently completed a stay at this hotel. I'm very satisfied with service at this location. The staff are so welcoming with there warm and friendly smiles. Definitely would stay at this location again the service is very good. awesome.

Best hotel in kingston With friendly staff, comfortable rooms and some of the most affordable rates available, First Canada Inns will make sure you wake up to value every morning. I would like to visit this hotel again.

Lovely building with character. Nice breakfast in the garden or as you wish even in the room. Friendly staff and a very pleasant stay. Would easily go back.

Best hotel in kingston I loved my stay at this hotel recently. Very friendly staff.

I had an appointment I could not miss, so I decided to stay in First Canada Inns again. I booked a suite as my friend was with me. The room was one of the Suites and it turned out to be wonderful! I can't say enough about the little details, such as the welcome card that was on the desk. My friend got the king bed, with a rich wood headboard. He told me it was very comfortable.

The free continental breakfast was very thorough with several cereals, muffins, bagels, bread and toaster, coffee, tea, juice, milk, fruit and yogurt. Even hard boiled eggs! The space is big. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful.

I would not reccomend this hotel, stayed there last Fall, and wasnt given the price I was quoted. The worst was children ran up and down the halls playing hockey half the night! There was a childrens league staying there and I understand there would be some noise, but they ran wild through the place. We asked the desk if they could please ask them to reduce the running and noise, nothing was done. The people working desk were standoffish, I will never stay there again, and I will never re comend it to anyone.

Probably the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in. Room was nice looking and clean, had an LCD TV with cable, and a fridge for drinks. All you could ask for in a reasonably priced hotel room. Only hotel i've ever stayed at that still uses metal keys for the room doors though, and they were a bit of a pain. Definitely a good place to stay.

Good location. Swimming pool. Cheaper than other places. However, our room's toilet wasn't clean. Surprising! How can such a cleaning task can be forgotten? Anyway, this explains the 2 stars. Plus the staff wasn't friendly either. Maybe just bad luck? And the carpets in the corridors need to be changed — but that's fine with me. Otherwise, cheap and ok.

The staff are super friendly helpful and always with a smile. The pool was great, they made extra favors because we were on a night shift. I will stay here always when working in Kingston. You also get a house coat when you stay on the second floor.

I WILL GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN ANYTIME I'm not the easiest guest as it comes to picking a hotel to stay even for one night, but at First Canada Inn I had a real good time. The staff was very friendly and cheery. It made my stay very enjoyable. Very clean rooms, lobby and hallways. The lobby and the room smelled fresh like the Ocean. A great location and easy to bars and restaurants or just to enjoy historical Kingston. Breakfast was served free in the morning and it was Just as I like it! comfortable beds, nice staff, excellent location, complimentary breakfast and high-speed internet (really high speed)! The pool is nice and big and salt water No burning eyes. Will come back anytime if in the area and even drive some miles if I have to.
