The homestay and Perfume (the owner of the house) were fantastic! The room was very clean and cosy. Very good location in the old town of Hanoi. She took us to the train station and when you have questions she helps you always with a big smile. The breakfast was awesome to. So let's go to Hanoi Family Homestay❤️

I stayed at Hanoi Family Homestay two and a half years ago and have to say they Perfume and her two children were amazing hosts. Great location. Great breakfast.
Highly recommend. You have stairs, each room is on a separate floor. Perfume speaks good English and is an amazing person!

4 room guesthouse, clean, comfy bed, air conditioning worked, fantastic hostess (Perfume) cooked delicious meals and provided useful local info and sells tour packages. Great deals! Made me feel welcome. I'll be back.

Dont know where to start. Perfume is such a warm and inspiring person who made my stay in Hanoi best ever. Always with a sweet smile she welcome you to her familys homestay and this is the best place if you travel alone like I did. Perfume and your lovely kids. Forever you’ll be in my heart. I stayed here last summer and the summer before and hope I get the chance to say here again. I recommend it for the price and if you have a bit of flexibility about things and don't expect Western standards. Why four stars? I felt the staff could use a bit more training. On one hand, once or twice I asked them to call me a taxi to go somewhere, they did, I got in the taxi and the taxi had no idea where I wanted to, leaving me in a bind because my Vietnamese is horrible. OTOH, when I asked the staff if they could find someone to sew a button on some pants, they did it themselves and absolutely refused payment for it. Nice people, doing things the way they do them and trying to help.

Good price/service for the location.

Was there 5 years ago. Now I found them on fb. Highly recommended! Feels like family! Great food, best community!

Amazibg host, nice place and cheap.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay with Perfume and her family. Nothing is too much trouble, the location is perfect and it’s a truly humbling experience. Perfume is a great cook and her English is good, as is her husbands. Though I did teach her a few new northern phrases! Her two children are adorable and we can’t thank them all enough for their hospitality. I would recommend this homestay to anyone wanting to experience the reality of Vietnamase homelife, as oppose to the usual tourist hotels. Lee and Caroline, Nottingham, England.

What a wonderful family that owns and operates this company. So accommodating and friendly. After they took my group on tour in North Vietnam I stayed in contact with Perfume and Binh on FaceBook and email. The village home stay was a special part of the tour. They are like my extended family and I will be back with them again in May 2018 after returning from leading another trekking group to Everest Base Camp. It is a great way to unwind after a difficult trek at high altitude and then be in Vietnam with wonderful food, friends and scenery. Highly recommend them if you are in Hanoi area and want to be treated like family. Gary Jost.

We stayed here for two nights with booking before we left to come to Hanoi. First of all we were welcomed very warmly and provided with drinks. We were welcomed to dinner and breakfast and to join as we pleased. No issues with the staff. My negatives are the rooms do not look like the pictures and could do with either updating, or updating the price to reflect the rooms now. Wi-Fi was good but wasn't working one of the mornings. There was only one working plug which shared the light, TV and fan.

A place you really feel welcome! I still think about this homestay after many years… I stayed there in 2014! Perfume and her family have real good values! Thanks again for the welcoming and warm hospitality and for being so good people!

You are lucky if Perfume has a room available for you to stay in. Perfume went out of her way to accommodate us. The entire family is wonderful and the level of hospitality is phenomenal, especially considering the rate. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and have exactly what you need. We were invited to eat dinner with Perfume numerous times, we were always greeted with a smile and often a delicious snack, and Perfume was able to help us with some complicated planning as we were traveling via bicycle at the time. Highly recommended!

What an amazing hostess Perfume is! She was so helpful and sweet, couldn't have asked for a better start for our vietnam travels. She organised a great trekking trip to Sapa hills for us. The homestay is perfectly situated in the heart of old quarter.

The highlight of your home stay here is the lovely lady Mrs Perfume! She trains her self in English even though she speaks it well. She cooked food exactly to my dietary requirements despite having to make it separately from the rest of the group. And the authentic Vietnamese food she makes is the one to not miss. She makes you feel at home like her welcome quote on the wall says 'You are not a tourist You are family' She literally takes care of all your requirements — food, shopping, travel advice. We loved it and will miss her indeed.

Perfect Homestay! During our trip we came several times to Huong's homestay in the center of the Old Quarter. The banana pancakes for breakfast are just great (but you can also have bread with egg or noodle soup) and she cooked very delicious food for dinner. Yummie! Huong really made our trip special, because she told us a lot about the country and gave us good advises. She knows so much about Vietnam, can help you with anything concerning your trip and speaks English very well. Our highlight was a three day trip together with Huong to the Ba Be Nationalpark in the north of Vietnam. You cannot find a better place to stay in Hanoi. Thank you sooooo much, Huong!

The best family homestay in Hanoi. Perfume is extremely helpful. I highly recommend staying at this place.

I first stayed at vietfamily home stay 4 years ago and have since visited Hanoi many times now and this is always where I chose to stay. The rooms are basic but with everything you need a big comfortable bed air conditioning TV bathroom /toilet. Perfume and binh are wonderful hosts so very happy and helpful no matter how big or small your request and the meals perfume supplies are a wonderful taste of Vietnam. Being in the old quarter it's close to everything and just sitting outside is entertaining watching the street life. Highly recommended by me for sure.

Looks nice enough but only on the surface. Hot water doesn't last to fill even half a bathtub (there goes my excitement for having a bath after a long, cold day on a bike), toilet flush sometimes works but sometimes it doesn't. On top of this, next door building has chickens and roosters on the roof (yes, in central Hanoi! ) that woke us up at 4 and 5 and 6 and 7am! But the worst thing is that when went on a 4 day trip during our stay there (left our bags in the lobby and booked another night for when we come back), my trainers that I accidentally left in the room were thrown in the bin (forget 'lost&found'; in the bin! ) Complete lack of communication between housekeeping and front desk who knew we were coming back, no acknowledgement from the management of their mistake, got shouted at instead and told it was our problem and problem it was having to replace my favourite $90 running trainers in a country that doesn't even sell the same brand! Very disrespectful treatment, avoid.

Clean and comfortable room. Stay inside of Hanoi old quarter. Only 15$ a night (breakfast includes). I stayed at this hotel 4 nights and felt comfortable at this rate hotel.
