Fantastic hot takeaway Sunday lunch, very hot, lots of meat with good meat based gravy, crispy roasties, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings — veg cooked perfectly — not too hard and not too mushy! Thoroughly enjoyed a great homemade dinner — followed by pudding and custard for a nice cosy afternoon in. Will be making it a regular thing until we can go out for a meal again! Thank you really well done!

First time and not the last the Sunday lunch was absolutely second to none they had a great selection of food and drinks on menu and the staff are all friendly and very welcoming will definitely be back.

Lovely friendly staff and the food was great. Nancy really appreciated the complimentary sausage and bowl of water too. Always a great experience whenever we visit. Thank you!

Just had a fantastic two night stay here Returning after six years. Stayed in the apartment. The food in the pub is fab really really tasty. Great bar really friendly people. Thanks a lot we won’t leave it as long next time ❤️✨❤️

Just demolished a lovely Sunday roast! First time eating from here and was not disappointed, fresh, piping hot and generously portioned staff was lovely also, definitely be ordering again! Cheers guys.

Ordered on Friday a collection for a family of 5. Can I just say WOWZERS. We were very kindly helped to the car with 6 bags (including puddings for us all) and when we got home, everything was piping hot and ready to eat. I had the chicken dinner, and there was close to a whole chicken on the plate, the mash soft and fluffy, the gravy not too thick and the veg perfectly cooked… and all of my family remarked similarly regarding the beef and lamb dinners. Fab service and fab food… we will be back for sure! Thanks guys!

Lovely Victorian pub in a super location. Rooms tastefully decorated, beds very comfy, staff friendly and helpful, car parking. Highly recommended.

Had fish and chips in this lovely pub which is ran by very nice people. And it was amazing! Hats off to the chef / landlord and landlady for your hard work which is obviously paying off.

As a family of four with all of us being big eaters I can not recommend this hostelry enough. We booked for Sunday lunch and there was more than we could eat! Lots of veggies and the meat was lovely and thick cut too. Only cost less than £32 for the four Sunday dinners. Big up to Jill and the gang. Really welcoming, not rushed and superb atmosphere and food!

Went to 'Whittington and Cat' last minute choice, we were undisided where to go for Sunday dinner. Really glad we did bar staff was really polite and the waitresses couldn't do enough for us. We all had a Sunday roast (small) there were beef, pork, lamb as a choice, as well as a menu, its a good job we did get small cos for me there was ample. I did see a standard dinners been placed on the next table and they were for big eaters (massive). Cause we ended up with a pudding, good choices to choose from. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. We'll defiantly be entering that on our 'to do' list, Whitington and Cat, Kingston upon Hull, East Riding Of Yorkshire.

A very nice little pub and the hospitality brilliant oh and the food is outstanding I would recommend this place to anyone.

Really lovely rooms within easy walking distance of the city centre, the waterfront and all the bars and restaurants. Free parking too.

I booked a family get together at short notice. It was a gathering of my visiting Australian family to share family history, memories, a few scoops and a meal. I contacted Jill a week before the event and she was brilliant. She provided us with Chinese Chicken Curry, chips, rice and prawn crackers at a very reasonable rate and I am grateful. The food tasted brilliant, everyone enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub, the family get together and the meal. It is a great pub for a …get together and I would without doubt book a meal here in the near future. Thank you to Jill and her staff for making use feel welcome we all enjoyed the night.

Had a family meal there, service was excellent and prices were reasonable.

Great bar to sit and relax after a day working on the ship. The bar staff clearly enjoy their job and make you feel very comfortable. Good priced drinks and cheap portion of chips! 10/10.

Very pleasant staff who bend over backwards to help. Food is awesome 100 % 5 star definitely worth a visit if you want great food and the rooms are out of this world.

Fabulous home cooked food exceptional customer service nothing was to much trouble to accommodate 10 of us so good on the Saturday night we returned the next day for Sunday lunch proper roast potatoes and not a single sign of anything frozen being served this food is quality and so reasonable (we were shocked when the bill arrived) highly recommend.

Friendly, quaint pub, which is a dying breed these days. Friendly and efficient staff and very reasonable prices. Only visited as my partner and I was going to an event at the arena, but will definitely be visiting again. 10/10

Supebbly fitted out and clean. No staff on site. No noisy late night parties. Just accommodation only. I like that and would go again.

Me and my partner stayed here on monday night. Due to a problem in one of the other venues we was upgraded to here. All I can say is wow. We was put in the master suite. The decor was beautiful absolutely fantastic. I would recommend this place to anybody. Amazing doesnt even come close. It has got to be the best nights sleep I have had in years.

It looks a bit rough from the outside but inside it is light airy and very friendly staff. The food was basic pub grub but tasty. We stayed overnight and our room was lovely. Comfortable, large and elegant. The bathroom was well stocked as was the bedroom. Tea & coffee, biscuits, sweets & bottles of water. The TV was a good size and folded into a bracket on the wall. The only thing that let it down was it's location and they can't do anything about that.

Can't recommend this place is enough, staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you, the rooms themselves are immaculate and brilliantly furnished, thanks for a top weekend (Andy Serrell from the Cleveland Comets)
