Great overnight stay at the Merryburn. Rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. Lovely feel about the hotel and the staff were very friendly and loved the dogs that were there. Breakfast was also substantial and delicious. Suitable precautions in place for COVID19.

I've stayed twice now at the Merryburn and both times were equally amazing! It is a fabulous base to visit Dunkeld and Birnam, just a short walk from the train station. Good beds, nice rooms, great breakfast, amazing lounge. The owner couldn't be more helpful and friendly. My only hesitation in recommending too strongly is that I want a room available when I return again!

Very nice B&B Owner, there is a large living room with a fireplace, the rooms are tastefully decorated and practical, clean. Birnam is a small very quiet town. Ideal for switching Off.

Home from home is an understatement! Brekkie to die for! So relaxed and layed back. If you only take the time to try it once, you WILL return. See you all in May Hilary.

Absolutely loved our short stay. We were made to feel so welcome when we arrived and our room was excellent. Hillary even provided us with sellotape to wrap our niece’s gift, and took the time to drop us up the road instead of getting a taxi. In the morning we had a full Scottish breakfast which was superb. Definitely recommend to stay here.

I stayed here for the first time last night my room was excellent and the staff are lovely and very welcoming I honestly feel like I'm at home here. I'll definitely be coming back again xx.

What a find! The rooms are decorated beautifully with chandeliers in the hall ways and original period features. The ambiance of the hotel is calm and serene. The honesty bar is a refreshing change in a relaxed lounge. The town of Dunkeld is a short walk over one of the many Tay river bridges. For those who Canoe, an SCA put in point is right next to the Taybank pub! Owned and operated by Hillary, this hotel with it's fantastic location and views in Birnam, is a gem.

Although the Merryburn looked nice on the website the photos no longer do it justice as it has just been decorated floor to ceiling in every room and looks gr8! On arrival I was made to feel I was actually at home, bring back a fish supper and sit in the lounge they said, bring back your own alcohol they said and help yourself to the honesty bar they said. My room was perfect for me and my very large dog Suluk the Alaskan Malamute, he gets hot through the night especially if sleep on his bed and prefers to move place to place to find a cold floor area but in room 3 I could open the window all night where there was no noise, he never moved from his bed. Also room 3 has its own bathroom directly opposite the bedroom door with a bath, power shower, sink and toilet with a wet floor which was perfect not only for me to have such a big bathroom to myself but with the wet floor I could allow my dog to drink from his water bowl in there and not worry about his slobber damaging any carpets then wipe it up. I can't comment on cooked breakfast as I'm a toast and cereal type, nice big jug of coffee to get the day started though. I have already booked up for February and July nxt year in, gr8 stay at the Merryburn Hotel. Thanks to the staff!

Very comfortable and friendly place Dougal loved it the breakfast was awesome.

The hotel seems to have been partially refurbished during operation. For one night it was fine.

Best restaurant ive ever been in.

A home from home, nothing is to much trouble, fantastic people.
