I booked this Hotel for my mums 70th Birthday. From start to end they could not do enough for me. Communication was brilliant the food fantastic the staff just amazing. I would not hesitate to book again for for a stay or just to have a meal. Clean rooms, Staff Friendly, food fantastic. What more do you need. From me to you guys thank you so much you made my mums party a night to remember and I’ll never for get it. Thank you ❤️

Worst place I have ever stayed. Tired, dirty, threadbare. Shower so filthy I couldn’t use it. Major plumbing issues with raw sewage in the car park and leaking toilets in the public areas. The food was not only terrible but service very slow with only three people running the place. We were given starters after 40mins, then another 40 mins and dessert arrived. We didn’t get a main course! This arrived 20 minutes later and was stone cold. We gave up and went for dinner elsewhere at this point! There was a fire alarm in the morning with no light in the fire stairwell and fire escape doors which I couldn’t get open to get out of the building. No fire procedures known by staff, no staff at the fire assembly point and no role call. Very dangerous.

There was no atmosphere in the bar/lounge, only 2 other tables with customers. We ordered 2 main meals, and waited 30 mins to be told there was no fish n Chips. This has been our our ‘Go-to’ in Dunkeld for years, but it’s gone down hill in the last 2 years, there was no background music or Sky sports on, it was dead, will never be back & would not recommend to anyone. Am sorry to be reviewing this & have recommended the Royal Dunkeld to family in the past but this was unacceptable.

Very poor customer service! No flexibility we had to cancel due to having Covid, it did say not transferable when booked but you would think with Covid they could of offered to move the date ☹️

Good food and friendly staff.

First time there for lunch today and very impressed. Would highly recommend the burger. Service was excellent both the wife and I together with Ghillie our weimaraner were made to feel very welcome.

Rooms are cosy and warm, food was good, with a lovely choice but most of all the staff bent over backwards to make sure we enjoyed ourselves! Will be back soon! Amazing time had by all my party, 15 of us, celebrating my 40th!

Best place to eat and have a lovely stay in Dunkeld, could not recommend more. Staff are extremely nice and helpful, meals were fabulous! price and god ‘delicious’ in a one word description. Bar staff were extremely nice and chatty. Lovely atmosphere feels almost like home would defo comeback x.

Do NOT book this hotel, everything about our stay was a nightmare and to this day we have not had an apology or an explanation.
Disgusting place, food was not just cold it was uncooked. No staff, dirty rooms, no heating on and customer service non existent.
Save your money and book elsewhere please!

Only came in for food so can't rate the rooms etc. But the fish and chicken was really tasty, staff were friendly and pleasant, the food and drinks were lovely, only problem I could find was there seemed to be a lot of midge's in the restaurant but I think this was due to a door being open to help air circulation, a customer asked if they could close the door die to the flies, it seemed to have done the trick all in all 10/10 from us myself and wife will be back and will definitely recommend the food and service. thank you for a lovely meal.

Lovely friendly staff and superb food.

We ordered the shredded chilli chicken, king prawns, flat bread, chicken and chorizo penne and beef burgers and it was all delicious and reasonably priced, will definetly be back to try the thai chicken burgers.

Good food. Comfy bed. Super powerful shower and towels that aren’t the size of a postage stamp.

Brillant service in the Reception at check in and the bar team are great especially Gareth! food was amazing! stayed in the lodge rooms and they are basic but perfect for what we needed with having the dog. Overall brillant Team and brillant stay.

Scott the waiter/bar man is absolute fantastic. He was warm, friendly and a delight to be around. Well done to you young man! You are a wonderful asset to the hotel. We had macaroni with haggis and the fish and chips. The food is superb and we would absolutely recommend you visit!

Just back from a 2 night stay. Well organised… very friendly staff… great location. They have adapted easily to the new environment due to Covid and made it safe and easy for their guests. Definitely will be back!

Ryan behind the bar was informative and attentive. He was knowledgeable about the local area and took time time to speak to customers.

Just had a takeaway tonight of fish and chips and they were delicious. Also enjoyed the coleslaw and tartar sauce. Would thoroughly recommend.

We have been staying there for many years on our way north. We have always been well looked after by staff and food has always been very good. Excellent Cecil &Yvonne.

I stayed here last weekend in a triple room with my sister and Auntie. Room was lovely, clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location. Atmosphere throughout was relaxed and welcoming highly recommend.

After multiple visits to Dunkeld over the years and having stayed in all the hotels I'd now be reluctant to go anywhere else. Friendly staff, comfy cosy clean rooms with great food on offer. Always found it to be the best value for money in the area. Having a meal in the main restaurant doesn't break the bank and food is fabulous!

We love our stays there. Excellent staff, wonderful food. We will be back again soon.

Great beer and company the lad behind the bar from Gateshead was brilliant. He just never stopped. He would be an asset to any hotel.

I would recommend everything. Comfortable room excellent welcome. We was at, a Club Dinner and the food was lovely. Choice of beers excellent. Yreat all round experience.

Chef was fantastic with regards to dietary needs. Service and staff very good. Would recommend all day long.

Just had an excellent meal here. Steak and Guinness Pie, mash and mixed veg. Delicious. Followed by Rhubarb crumble with cream for me and custard for my Husband. Gorgeous. The waiters and waitresses were really friendly and helpful. Have to say I’m glad we booked. By 7pm the place was full. Would highly recommend.

Friendly staff, reasonably priced, good clean accommodation, sizable rooms, beautiful part of Scotland and very enjoyable jammin session in bar.

Exactly what we were looking for. Clean room. Friendly staff. Reasonable priced. We like Dunkeld and this is the first time at the Royal, would definitely recommend. Good food menu. Breakfast lovely. All staff bright and friendly. Felt comfortable here as opposed to a previous hotel we had stayed in. There’s a nice homely atmosphere in this hotel. Thanks to receptionist. We were lucky to get a room as the town was very busy. Good experience.

Would highly recommend. Food was great and owners helped with our lands end to john o groats charity fundraising. Staff very friendly.

Staff very helpful and freindly anx cabbins very nice and clean to I will certainly be coming back food is excellent aswell.

Lovely hotel, great food and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend for an overnight stay or if you are planning on a wee trip to see surrounding areas, this would be the place to stay. Would definitely come back and thank you.

Went in for light lunch on route to Pitlochry. Soup and Toastie very nice and priced at 5.95. Staff very efficient and friendly.

Lovely hotel with period features. A great nights sleep in a comfy bed. Staff lovely and helpful even though they were very busy. Dunkeld is a beautiful village. So many tall trees which we dont have much of in Caithness! Watched crows pecking seeds off a tree and dropping them on the ground, from the bedroom window! Dont know the type of tree mum took one of the things of the ground to have a look!

Party of 8 ladies stayed at the hotel and we were exceptionally well looked after. We had dinner in the hotel for our 3 nights — food excellent. The hotel also made a packed lunch every day. Bedrooms we excellent. I would recommend the Royal Dunkeld Hotel — excellent service and customer care.

Very friendly staff all very helpful. Room was a decent size and clean only down side was the curtains which allowed to much light in with it being summer. Breakfast was nice. Lovely atmosphere — will certainly book again.

Lovely staff who helped me travelling on my own with two toddlers. It was very much appreciated. Room was a good size for the three of us. Breakfast was plentiful. Maybe black out blinds for the summer nights would help but bed really comfy.

Our group of 7 enjoyed a lovely meal here. Everyone commented on how nice the food was — we enjoyed dishes including fish & chips, chicken stuffed with haggis and the burger. All very fresh and delicious! Nice beer garden at the back too!

Had been told they did a carvery, but it was just the normal menu. All staff were new and unsure what was going on. Cheese and garlic sauce for chicken was tasteless, salad was mainly lettuce and cucumber skin, chicken burger was cold.

Great location, friendly staff, great food. What's not to like? Will be back.

Fantastic find in the centre of Dunkeld, great food, drinks and service.

This is an extremely welcoming and friendly hotel. Good breakfast choices and staff very happy to cater to your individual needs. Dinners were delicious and well presented and again served by delightful staff. Rooms were spotlessly clean, very comfortable, nicely presented and with tea/coffee provided. Towels thick and soft whilst being a good size and showe was hot and powerful. Remember this is an old building so if you want ultra modern decor and a spa day it's not happening but I personally would prefer the intimacy and Craic of this hotel than the aforementioned. All of our party look forward to returning. Thank you all.

Only visited the Bar but friendly staff, warm and the Cask Ale was just the job after a long walk!

We had lunch in bar, dogs welcome and staff friendly. Had homemade soup and sandwich, which was lovely. Would pop back in for lunch again.

Very friendly staff & great hotel location. We stayed in the annex which is fairly basic in terms of room facilities. Would stay at the hotel again but opt for the main building.

Tasty bar food. Nice atmosphere. Disable toilet door was left open (not in use) which could be seen from where we were sat which distracted a little.

Nice friendly atmosphere. Rooms are a little dated but have everything you need. Beer garden is great. Breakfast was perfect, cooked to order and more if you wanted it. Would recommend this hotel.

Delicious and beautifully presented food, friendly, witty and trustworthy staff, really good deal for dinner/bed/breakfast. Animal friendly rooms at high hygienic standard, comfy beds. Well stocked up bar. Nice, big sitting lounge for group gathering, outdoor garden. Parking space might be a bit tight, but in an enclosed, private area.

Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, good filling food, it is a bit in need of an upgrade but the hotel is always getting upgraded, Neil and Katrina are the owners, not some big hotel group so all credit to them for using the available funds to tty to improve things instead of pocketting the cash and moving on. Great wee atmospheric hotel in a beautiful setting! What's not to like unless you are very picky. Mike Diack.

Really friendly staff and attentive staff Had a great lunch with friends and family yesterday and l love that dogs are welcome. We left the puppy behind as was worried he may have an accident but will take him back next time. Coleslaw really is the best I've tasted. Lovely Hogmanay lunch. I have to say the staff are lovely and keepers.

Brilliant pub and restaurant with excellent bar and kitchen staff.

Not great only half a star.
