Parking slots available, room was clean including the bathroom. But should be completely renovated (e. G. Shower kept dripping), not worth 4 stars more 1 star. The location is near the castle and the old town. Restaurant excellent and worth the price. Breakfast nothing special or any better than in comparison to other accommodations.

Hotel very well located. The rooms are typical, but very well maintained and clean. The place is very well placed a 5 minute walk from the castle. Their restaurant offers very well presented and good dishes. The hotel has a large free parking, which allows you to explore the city on foot, regardless of whether your vehicle is.

We got a lovely welcome from experienced staff. Great wine and a good selection of beer. We did not eat but food looked very good with great reviews from others eating there at the time. Very clean and a great relaxed atmosphere, yet up to date and well presented.

The rooms are great! Definitely wouldn't reccomend the breakfast though. Everything tastes as if it has been on a hotplate for the last century. Even found some moldy bread at the buffet.

3rd visit to hotel. Pool lovely. Cannot fault food. I am very fussy with food so this is high praise indeed. So central and easy to get to everything. Perfect for a family. Excellent and of course will return for further visits.

The hotel is OK. Little room without light almost. Shower difficult to use.

Good stay in general, unable to take a room service order correctly after calling twice to state what was wanted. Came for breakfast at10am and was standing waiting to be seated as four members of staff hovered over the till looking at us and checking their watches. The Guinness was off at the bar and I was informed it was only cans they had @ £5! each!. General bar staff attitude is supercilious and dissmisive and are more interested in chatting to fellow staff than service quality. The steak is poor quality and not worth buying. Do you complain or simply not return?, Not sure yet.

The hotel in an old part of the city. Rooms a bit outdated but I guess this makes this place unique. Bathrooms need a serious upgrade. Old seals everywhere and a shower hardly working. Quite decent leisure facilities incl sauna, steam room and medium swimming pool. Good place to set off for city tours.

I was happy with my room. The staff was very helpful when needed. And the best thing is the location, one of the best in Stirling. Walking distance from the train station if you are somewhat fit, also walking distance to the castle and several other places around.

Great hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious, meals are beautiful. Couldn't fault them at all. This is our second visit to hotel and would definitely go back again.

Room were clean and tidy, very spacious and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was fantastic! Highly recommend the slow cooked beef! Service was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Building itself is extremely nice and packed with history. Well worth a visit.

It's clean, comfortable and has free Wi-Fi that works. The only downside was the breakfast was not to my taste. I wish they would have more variety of pastries and something in chocolate and maybe cake as well! I prefer a non healthy breakfast.

We chose this place for it's central location. It's proximity to everything made it more pleasant for walking. The room was good & clean. We had a decent view of outside. We even had a chance to go for a swim. Nothing beats a breakfast style buffet!

Comfortable hotel with good amenities. Somewhat inconveniently located on a steep hill on a one way road system — — try not to arrive after dark! Staff v friendly & supportive.

Fantastic hotel, thoroughly enjoyed lunch today served by a lovely pleasant waitress. Portions were very filling I had cauliflower and cheddar cheese soup followed by delicious battered fish and chunky chips with a lovely tartare sauce. Had an amazing back, neck and shoulder massage from Caitlyn, best yet :-)

My stay at the Stirling Highland was comfortable and relaxing. Customer service was excellent and the room was not too bad. The view from my room wasn't too good, but I didn't pay for a nice view, so that's okay. Took me a moment to realize the hotel had been a school back in the day. It was neat working around the grounds and seeing where the children took classes. Overall, if in Stirling again, wouldn't pass up a stay at the Stirling Highland Hotel.

Enjoyed 4 nights at this hotel. The food was supplied as part of a half board package negotiated by a holiday company and was, generally, very reasonable. The room I was allocated was a good size with sufficient storage for my time there. It was clean and tidy with a service each day. However, although the decoration was fine some of the fittings, particularly in the bathroom, we're tired. There was also a constantly dripping bath tap that should have been identified for repair. The location was excellent. The main town tourist attractions were within a few minutes walking distance.

Lovely family dinner. The staff were all a credit and they were happy to accommodate and make me vegan food which I really appreciated.

Wonderful old school building. Unfortunately, the standard of housekeeping was poor. We had an old frayed towel hung up in the bathroom that was immediately replaced when I brought it to the attention of reception. There was a wine bottle screw lid left in the middle of the floor that my partner very nearly stood on. Reception didnt seem too bothered when I brought it to their attention.

Excellent service. Restaurant has a small selection of excellent meals. However bar menu is more traditional. Rooms were comfortable and each had en suite. Car patk entrance is subtle and just up hill of the hotel but there seems to be ample parking. 24 hour room service is available. Wifi also available.

Great historic building in Stirling located on the road up to Stirling Castle. A great selection of meeting rooms to cater for all tastes, a quaint bar and nice restaurant that is away from the hustle and bustle of the town. A very nice gym also.

If I could rate 10 stars I would the Stirling hotel is a fantastic experience… the staff are friendly service is fantastic and the best 5* food… my wife and I used the gym and that was a great experience too we will definitely be back THANK YOU FOR THE UNBELIEVABLE STAY WE HAD.

Our booking was a nightmare, but as it was non-refundable, there was little option but to stay there. The messed up our reservations twice, charged my card incorrectly at least that many times. With no apologies or explanations. Also, while the charges went on right away, it took a week to get them off. When we arrived their elevator wasn't working, which fine, that's not something they can predict. We had several people in our party with mobility issues, one of whom climbing up from the ground floor to the third was an impossibility. We finally got a room on the ground floor, it only had one bed (as that was all that was available), but they weren't going to refund the difference of the room we weren't going to be staying in: a family room with a king bed, and a second room with a bunk bed. It took ages for the person at the front desk to finally get the manager to come out and speak with us. (She went back three times before the manager came out. ) Frankly, I'd rather sleep in my car then stay there. At least with my car, I know what I'm getting and the service will be better.

All the staff we've come across have been great, lovely spa and treatments. Gorgeous dinner, comfy beds. Perfect treat for my mum. :)

Always a good stay. Comfortable bed and good breakfast. Still doing a refurb of hotel, but not too much disturbance.

Overly expensive, rubbish breakfast, spa facilities under construction, no extract fan in ensuite, no pendant light in bedroom, poorly maintained public toilets.

As a conference venue quite frankly I found it to be a dreadful disappointment.

Nice size room kept clean and tidy lovely bottle of wine on arrival. Staff 1st class good all round well worth the money. We booked through secret escape meals at night 9.5/10. And a good choice of breakfast.

One thing from the hotels we're expecting is to be worm. There this wasn't, room was freezing hall night and day. And when we told in reception all they can say was 'oh, we're sorry'. Talking about the spa, what a joke, swimming pool and Jacuzzi was freezing, wasn't the feeling we're in spa, it felt more like Beeing beside the sea. And spa women's changing room, I guess, wasn't cleaned for a week. Not happy about the service, we were so happy to go there for Valentine's, so dissapointed when we left. Never again. P. S. Only thing we loved was food, thanks for that. And they will ask you for £50 deposit but be prepared the price of room pluss deposit from your card on check in, then when you check out they will debit your card the full amount again then you'll have to wait 3-5 days to get back your money. Thanks greatest service we ever had.

Absolutely NOT worth the £172 per night price tag — do not be fooled by the beautiful exterior and book to stay at this hotel unless you like small, dirty, dated, tightly packed together rooms with interconnecting doors to neighbours rooms, through which you can even hear them breaking wind. Noisy and staff were quite rude, barely acknowledging me when enquiring where to go for breakfast.

Had a great break at this Hotel, very nice room, staff very helpful, nice food. Would certainly stay here again.

Stayed here for The Worlds, 2015. This hotel is in historic high school with an observatory on the roof. Blocks from town, nice rooms, did not try restaurant because of the breakfast price.

Would not recommend this hotel. For what was paid and the expectations of a 4 * hotel we were disgusted at the room we got! room was a premium room. Was dirty, dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. The bathroom was dirty with blackness round the bath, tea n coffee facilities were put in a side cupboard and when taken out n looked in the kettle, was unusable. Walls were dirty, sockets were dirty. Staff were not helpful when approached about this. We were told we couldn't have a refund as paid upfront, we couldn't be moved rooms as they were all fully booked. If that was the premium room then I dread to think what a standard looks like. Will definitely not be back or recommend to anyone!
