I stayed in one room with 2 of my friends after 10 days in Ireland/Scotland. First of all it was Clean and the bathroom had a tub and a shower. The bed was comfortable and the owners pride in the place showed through. Second the owner, Stuart, loves to cook and we had the most delicious breakfast that we had in 10 days. He makes his own bread and we were met by homemade shortbread! Third, Stuart himself was so nice and helpful. Good conversation! I would recommend Ravenswood to anyone.
What a find! Brilliant guest house — exceptionally clean, lovely rooms with modern on-suite bathrooms. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of variety — fresh fruit, yoghurts, gorgeous fresh bread, pastries, cereal and then a variety of cooked options (loved the poached eggs) including the fantastic Scottish breakfast. Stuart was lovely, offering tea/ coffee/ Turnock teacakes on arrival (and also placed in the rooms) and the complimentary water and beer for the guests in the fridge on the landing was a lovely touch!
Cannot recommend this place high enough — 5 stars! Thank you Stuart for a fantastic 4 night stay — we will definitely be returning if we are ever lucky enough to visit Sterling again!
