Beautiful hotel and the staff were fantastic second time myself and my husband have stayed and we loved it and will definitely be back ❤️

We attended a 40th birthday here at the weekend. Our room was lovely and the staff were all fantastic. The ballroom looked stunning all set up for the party. Breakfast was also fab. Couldn’t fault the place at all. I’d highly recommend Colessio.

Hotel Colessio hosted my 40th party and were absolutely fantastic! From the first enquiry to check out everyone was amazing. The service, the food, the function suite, the staff, the small gestures, the attention to detail, couldn’t fault a thing! Lynn, Jason, Lesley and their team went above and beyond to make sure over 100 people had the best time. I would highly recommend for any event large or small. Plenty of parking, close to the town centre, right in the hub! Thank you all for making my birthday the best! Cat, Dave, Harry and Layla xx.

Customer service at reception both on booking in and out — not even a smile or a friendly is this your first time at hotel how? or how was your stay? also got told I could only get 3 wee sachets of milk when I asked for more. Lack of toiletries in room — remember pack your own. No substitution of GF items for breakfast — had about 4 items on my plate in comparison to my partners portions but same price paid for both. Hotel lovely and modern decor, but room was small with lovely big bathroom. Prime location (albeit middle of a hill) for tourism. Cocktail waitress was fantastic and very welcoming and friendly and made lovely cocktails but bar was unstaffed so long delays in getting drink. Breakfast was also clearly understaffed unfortunately. When cancelling our booking for next week and reasons above given and even mentioned we have booked hotel next door to it — still no apologies. Will definitely pop in for cocktails though!

We had the most amazing 2 nights stay here, we were in the king deluxe room and the bruce suite and both were just unbelievable — the staff were so friendly, well mannered and dressed very smart, we will 100% be back hopefully soon.

We both enjoyed an overnight in here DBB This is the 3rd time we have visited here It’s a beautiful hotel staff are really helpful and friendly especially sammy on reception Pete for the cocktails🍹 and hector at breakfast for the service. Nothing was a bother food excellent and cocktails were even better 😝Dog friendly too 🐶amazing place😊

Just back from here and to be honest I was disappointed. Hotel is beautiful, staff was lovey. Bed in my room very uncomfortable to the point I'm in pain today. Was booked for DBB, they didn't have us down as booked for dinner (even though we did it when checking in) but took us anyway. My soup was lovely (had to ask for a spoon) and main was nice (had to ask for cutlery for main). Breakfast, had to ask for glasses and oj at the continental. Sat for our breakfast was asked if we wanted toast with our tea etc, all other tables got their toast (some got two lots) we are still waiting. Breakfast some items where missing and the rest was barely edible. Got the feeling they where very under staffed and some of the staff where inexperienced. Felt really sorry for them to the point I was going to clear tables for them. I hope this is something that is sorted soon as it has the potential to be a lovely place to stay.

Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough, staff where all very friendly and attentive. My friend is vegetarian and Ross the head chef went out his way to cater for her. We will certainly be back again.

Lovely room, comfortable bed and peaceful nights sleep. I hosted a dinner which was delicious, and we received great service from the team, from the moment I walked through the door to leaving the following afternoon. The breakfast chef was more than happy to accommodate my off menu requests too. I held a couple of 1:1 meetings throughout the day in their lobby area. The team noticed I hadn’t ordered lunch and I ran out of time so they arranged a ‘takeaway’ late lunch for my train journey back south.
Too many individuals to name… everyone was great!

We had any excellent time here. Staff were amazing a couple of minor hi cups which the staff fixed quickly and efficiently. Can't wait to visit again.

On the first visit was very disappointing in regards to everything room, service, noise from kitchen staff at 6am, meals and facilities in the restaurant/bar. The manager told us to come back for another visit and was much better. Service, room, meal in the evening. Then came the worst end to a great night the breakfast. My wife and I ordered a full Scottish breakfast and nothing was said about the items. The plates were brought over and there was no bacon on any of the plates, so I asked a staff member and they said oh we’ve ran out of bacon. Then the worst part was I picked the black pudding up and you could bounce it off the wall, same with everything else, everything was over cooked fried egg had a crispy skin on the bottom and had some kind of film over the top. I picked this up and flopped it about to show the staff member. Hotel and staff was very good but don’t eat the food.

Lovely hotel, the staff also were very welcoming & friendly Scott & hector and of course the rest of them all, breakfast was nice & hot & dinner was fab lovely tender pork loin I would definitely recommend it thanks 😊

the bed room was very nice only thing was the heat in the room was not nice no air-conditioning they did have a wee fan which helped abit.

Had my wedding at the Colessio on 18th December 2020 & cannot thank John & his staff enough. John was great from start to finish & made us feel at ease on our special day — everything ran like clockwork & John had set everything out just the way we had wanted. Even the receptionist helped sort my train & veil for me as I was about to walk down the aisle! Hotel room was lovely, clean & spacious and our wedding meal was delicious — we all enjoyed it very much. Would definitely recommend Hotel Colessio. Xx.

I had my sons 18th birthday party in the beautiful ball room. Service staff food and venue was beautiful and we had a lovely experience I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back Thanks again to all the staff they did a 5⭐️ job made us feel welcome ❤️

Had an overnight for our first wedding anniversary was lovely, staff were very accommodating, the food was delish we had dinner and breakfast. Would definitely love to come back again in the near future.

Scott at reception was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was lovely. Rooms were spacious. Definitely would visit again.

Great friendly staff coping in difficult circumstances.

We have just booked our wedding tonight with hotel manager John. John was extremely helpful in allowing to view the venue (socially distancing of course) letting us see the place and answering any questions that we had regarding the day itself. The hotel has been undergoing some work during lockdown which John could not apologise enough for as we had to use our imagination in certain areas but he did not let that deflect from how lovely the venue is. Although we could not shake hands or sit close at a table John maintained great professionalism throughout our appointment and we are very happy to say that we went ahead and booked our special day for next year! Thank you John we hope you do well in your new venture at Hotel Colessio. Its a shame your first few months have been in lockdown!

Absolutely lovely staff so polite and welcoming (Scott at Reception extremely helpful and friendly) would recommend this place.

Just had an overnight stay here in room 108. Absolutely gorgeous cosy room. This was a gift from our daughter and partner but fully intend to come back again. Beautiful Hotel and staff were all very nice and helpful. Definately gets 5* from us. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Had a fantastic night at this lovely hotel which is located ideally for a walk around the the town. The food was wonderful and the staff were friendly and very helpful especially Scott at reception. We will definitely be returning hopefully soon.

Was here for 1 night got a great deal bed dinner & breakfast. Dinner was fabulous, really tasty. Had to leave early, so didn’t have breakfast. Room was huge as was the bathroom.

Had a beautiful lunch here last week with my partner and daughter, she enjoyed her children's fish and chips then a brownie with ice cream, our food was lovely too and our server was friendly and attentive, would recommend to anyone after a nice lunch or afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings.

Here for a meal birthday celebration had a really good meal and staff were brilliant great cosmopolitan to start with and then our wine and few drinks before we left recommended.

I would recommend Hotel Colessio I stayed here 2 weeks ago with my husband for my birthday the room was lovely and the food and the staff are lovely will definitely be back xx.

We were booked in for afternoon Tea and had the most wonderful time. The staff are great and so helpful. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Lovely hotel. Nice decor and lovely bedroom with all mod cons. Breakfast was lovely and good selection. Reasonably priced hotel and will definitely be back.

I won a competition prize meal of steak and fries and my daughter and her fiance visited last night My daughter said the steak was the best she's ever had, better than Miller and Carter ☺ Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal, which we had won on FB. Nice welcome into the hotel, good recommendations from barmen. Service in restaurant was first class. Thoroughly enjoyable dinner.

We have stayed at Colessio a few times and come for Hogmanay. The service is outstanding, food cooked to perfection and staff are very attentive and welcoming. Definitely be back soon. Lovely, relaxing hotel to come to. 5 stars ⭐️

Minor problem with room made much worse by staff ignoring it for 18 hours. Can't hear yourself think while sitting in the expensive restaurant that looks like a lap dancing club. Incredibly tacky. Plastic crystals and dirty mirrors. Event venue right next the dining room which meant you got blasted by music and loud drunk guests walking past you as you eat. They got the food order wrong, despite the waitress carefully writing it down. Pot of tea was Luke warm. Will not visit again.

Great place for a quiet lunch. Has an inexpensive st lunch.

Dinner only — Food was spectacular. My wife and a I loved all starters main courses and desserts last night. Service was great as well House rose wine was horrible l, but I'll still be back soon to try something else.

High tea was brilliant hotel is lovely inside and decor too comfy seats staff were lovely.

Attended a wedding Very impressed. Hard to find fault though the drink prices were extortionate (without this no doubt it would have been a five star). Overall a lovely hotel.

Two stars for the building and decor. Other than that a very expensive burger with unhappy staff was our Sunday lunch experience. No a la carte menu. Very disappointed. Not sure will go back.

I loved the place, the friendliness and high standard. However it would be great to offer more food options for the most common allergies, e. G. Soy Yogurt & Milk (which normal people eat& drink too so you don't waste it) They offered me a gluten free toast which was nice.

Having stayed at the hotel previously twice I find the quality of the food drastically reduced. Bruschetta was solid and couldn't get knife through it. Choice of main course very limited by comparison to previous. Personally won't be back.

Stayed the night whilst at the hotel for a wedding. Excellent service from start to finish. The wedding itself was well organised with great length of time hanging around and a very quick bar service.

Went for lunch today and l have to say for a 5 star it is very poor, food was standard we spend ages waiting for each course to be taken away after finishing, when main course arrived we were told they had no mayonnaise and had to wait on the vinegar as somebody else had it. I used to visit on a regular basis but will be going else where in the future.

Very nice place, excellent food and service — nice quiet atmosphere. Good selection of cocktails as well.

I was very impressed by the service we received from my first enquiry through to the end of our meal. We had a large group afternoon tea which was lovely. The restaurant area is modern and bright and perfect for a special occasion. Highly recommend.

This place is beautiful, the staff delightful and the food and cocktails to die for. I can think of no nicer place in this area to go to with friends, family or loved ones.

Fantastic hotel for central Stirling food was very good and staff very helpful. Thought the rooms were a wee bit pricy. But really enjoyed our stay.

An almost perfect stay. Wonderful staff, amazing location, and the room was gorgeous. If I end up back in Stirling, I'll almost certainly stay there again. The only downside was that they occasionally seemed understaffed, so that even though the front desk or bar staff were ready and enthusiastic to help once they were free, sometimes there was a longer than average wait to get their attention. Overall, they were amazing though, and the bar chairs, music and Christmas trees made waiting seem much much less painful.

Poor boxing day buffet, shocking sparse choice of food which was all obviously all left overs. Singer was good albeit very cruiser esk and the staff were lovely. Will not be returning.

We enjoyed a relaxed evening with excellent food. The only criticism we had was that, during the booking process, we were asked to vacate our table in 2 hrs! I would expect to be asked to do this at the weekend, not on a Tuesday night!

Poor experience. Very rarely get out with my husband. Spent over £250 for 1 nite. Didnt stay due to family emergency. Emailed and wrote to explain with no reply. Over 4MONTHS ago. Will never be back.

Very nice and modern hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff. Great location — equal distance from Stirling Castle and shops/restaurants.

Fantastic meal. Staff slightly under trained and no stands for wine buckets. But overall was a lovely meal. Averaged £70 per head with wine and food.

Attended the hotel for professional event. Lovely hotel. We had a very nice lunch. Parking was an issue. Limited spaces in car park. I arrived an hour early and there were no spaces. Street parking was limited to 2 hours… no use when you are in a meeting. The nearest car park I could find was also limited to 4 hours so also no use. I ended up driving around and parking a fair distance from the hotel. Good job I arrived early.

The grill room has a good selection of menus and options whilst providing modern surroundings to enjoy your meal that are hard to find in Stirling. Enjoy a josper grill steak and a nice cocktail here!

The staff were lovely but the food wasn't great. The vegetarian starter was ok but the main (a risotto) was terrible. The sweet was very nice though. Maybe the meat options were better.

Stunningly beautiful Hotel. A real diamond in the crown of Stirling. Top quality A La Carte menu at great prices. The best cocktails you will get in stirling also.

I attended the wedding fayre on Saturday 12th Aug. Very impressed all round. Friendly, warm and attentive staff. Hotel itself is beautiful and our party thoroughly enjoyed lunch and cocktails.

One if the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Upscale but with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are immaculate and modern. The food is fantastic. When staying in Scotland I will always try to come here.

Fabulous hotel — my very regular place to stay in Stirling. Brilliant staff and location. I entertained colleagues for an amazing dinner which can only be classed as one of the best ever.

Hotel with luxury of doubt taste and pretentious.
I had room on the courtyard level and had to always keep the curtains closed to avoid prying looks. No closet and place to put your suitcases. On the other hand the bathroom is spacious and comfortable. But in the Hotel you don't go for the bathroom. I only stayed one night.

Cool hotel in old part of Stirling. Good food. Very good meeting venue other than dodgy projector screen. Beware room 121 if you are sensitive to light or sound while sleeping. Morning sun gets through blinds and church bells start at 5. Also could do with some proper beer in the bar. All the non lager is rubbish. Otherwise excellent.

Afternoon tea was really good, one of the better places I have been. Good service. Lots of staff working here. Best to make a reservation as it's very busy. Good value for money at £15 a head. Will be back soon.

Myself and two friends Stayed here in December 2016, The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating,, the young woman bar tender was exceptional at her job, It is a young staff but they have been trained well the new look to the place is lovely, our room was really comfortable. I myself was in the hospitality for twenty five years, learnt my trade at Gleneagles which was then owned by British Rail.
I was sorry to read a review of only one star today, so had to put my own review in.

Worst experience ever. Booked afternoon tea for 3pm arrived 10 mins early. Let the lady on reception know we had arrived. Lovely girl on the bar Emma couldn't have been nicer and got our drinks organised. At 3.15pm reminded staff we were still waiting for our table. Lots of empty tables so unsure why we were waiting. Got taken to our table 5 mins later. Restaurant manager got our order of 2 coffees wrong! We got 1 tea and 1 coffee. At 3.40pm my husband was very unhappy as we still had no food and asked to speak to the manager who suddenly appeared with our food. We declined at this point as we feel when you book a table at a time in advance service should be better than we experienced. For a 5 star hotel we feel this is unacceptable. Won't return.

Been for lunch and dinner a few times now and it never fails to impress. Food is amazing along with the cocktails and the staff are very friendly.

Stayed on 20th Dec for our works night out party night was good (we have great staff) room was lovely only issue for me was lighting in room very dark not adequate for putting on make up or drying hair, also no mirror in room at all! Bathroom was fab huge powerful shower great mirror but would recommend taking continental plug as you could dry your hair in there also deep bath looked great breakfast was lovely too couldn't fault the staff at all very friendly and helpful would stay again just better prepared for issues.

Wasn't impressed. Service was not attentive, staff chatting in corners, Guy at bar forgot about us and after 10 mins caught his attention and he admitted he forgot about us. We were told on arrival menu will be given, it wasn't, table booked for 7pm I had to ask for menu at 7.30 didn't seem bothered, yet only 4 tables had clients in, wasn't busy at all. Very disappointed. Same happened next day at breakfast again sat at table and nobody appeared to ask us for order. Other couple were complaining to manager and staff too busy trying to listen to what was being said. Room too warm and unable to open window at night. Spoke to manager about above and offered other night away free of charge on same deal as he advised us he was new manager here to try & sort things out & show us how a 5 star hotel should be ran. Arrived 24th October service in grill room better & food ok but disturbance in room next door forced us to check out at 2am due to fearing for our safety and police being called. When emailed hotel about above they don't appear to be interested. What was supposed to be a relaxing night away turned out to be the night from hell. Will never stay at this hotel again as certainly not 5 star experience in my eyes.

We have booked 1 year in advance 2 rooms and our beautiful rooms have been promised. We had made 2 room with a view on the air conditioning which is a huge fight. After several complaints, no proper solution has been offered to us. Night 2 hours of waiting in the Lobby of a different Hotel we were looking for which was located 30 miles…

Pretty good hotel and a comfy bed. We booked the night before we arrived and got a ground floor room which was tiny, but the bathroom was great. Nice staff and good bar. One of the best hotels in Stirling.

Great location to get your glad rags on for an evening out. Had a wonderful meal and fab cocktails and wine. Was definitely worth the pennies.

Stayed 2 nights. Very disappointing. Not advised in advance that there was a wedding being held in Hotel on Saturday evening. On our arrival all public areas being used by the wedding so couldn't have a drink in the bar. Second night couldn't book table in Grill Room for a reasonable time owing to function being held. Hotel guests seem to be a bit of a nuisance. Room a good size but very hot with 2 small windows so no ability to get air into room. This was on not particularly warm days in June. Must be stifling in Summer.

We went for afternoon tea for my hen do. Thw afternoon tea was lovely, quick service and friendly staff.

This is not a 5 star hotel. The carpet was too big for the room and there were huge bumps everywhere. The bed linen had rips in it. The bath plug wouldn't come out and no one came to fix it despite us asking about it. The food is nice but in no way a 5 star standard. The hotel was extremely noisy due to a wedding going on downstairs until late and staff emptying glass bins outside early in the morning. There are no leisure facilities. There is no lift. There isn't even a mirror in the room for drying your hair. We won't be coming back!

A very attractive hotel, restaurant and bar with a very nice function hall for weddings and parties. It is definitely the most salubrious place in town with prices to match but considering the look and feel of the building you can understand why. I have been for a steak dinner and it was a great meal and the staff went out of their way to accommodate my friend and I, so far as to serve us beer which was not available as it was used in the making of a dish on the menu and not at the bar.

The service and the dinner was excellent. Especially Hollie at reception and Freddie during dinner. The decor is not my cup of tea but others may like it.

Nice hotel that's close to the town centre The rooms are clean and I had a lovely large bathroom. Bed was also large and very comfortable. Food in the restaurant was absolutely fabulous and very good value for money.

An up market boutique. That didn't quite do it for me. The idea of the project is good, however too many compromises have been made to achieve a finished result. Attention to detail on arrival was poor. Rubbish at back door next to carpark. Red carpet tatty and frayed. Water damage to bar ceiling. Marks on the carpet in the restaurant etc. The maître d was a bit stern. Waiting staff, were friendly, polite and well trained although most were quite young. So a big plus there and well done to them and their trainer. The food was excellent but not excptional. Rating on food and waiting staff 4 stars. But the fact that Hotel Calessio wants to be exceptional but isn't then in my opinion it's only worth 3 stars. With time there is a chance they will get it right. But not there yet.

Stayed in this Hotel Friday 19th February, beautiful hotel, rooms lovely, very friendly staff. However, when it came to sleeping and being able to sleep it was not good. Our room was perhaps under the Kitchen and all we could hear was banging all night and this was doing my head in, couldn't sleep, had we stayed another night I would have requested a change of room. The restaurant was lovely and the food was good, however the service could have been quicker we were a table of ten and we were booked for 7.30 and we were still eating at 9.45pm.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea with my 3 children on Friday. Pleasant surroundings and very attentive staff. Looked after my daughter who is a wheelchair user very well with dignity and respect. Great selection of sandwiches and beautiful cakes. Will definitely be back :)

Visited for dinner with work. Staff were excellent, food was good.

Service ok. Not much attention. Disappointed by the Christmas menu being in place — no mention of this at booking and several favourites missing.

We spent the last 4 days in the Colessio hotel. Had a lovely time a couple of hic — ups but all dealt with I have to say the staff in all areas were excemptional — — James — bar Holly — reception Maddison-restuarant. These were only names we knew but the on the whole the experience was great, As were all the staff. The housekeeping were so helpful and friendly.

I can't fault this hotel at all. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also big and the shower was lovely, like standing in warm rain. I also ate at the hotel and the quality of the food was suberb and good value. As I was on my own I decided to eat in my room which was no trouble at all for the staff. The staff were all friendly and breakfast was lovely. The hotel is ideally situated just a short walk from Stirling castle, other attractions and the town centre. I would definitely stay here again.
