Wouldnt reccomend this hotel, room not like photos on website, stained carpets, not worth the money we paid, no door on shower so when you shower all water goes on floor, dirty walls, staff were helpful when we arrived, not so helpful after, as for the night club underneath DONT BOTHER if you dont buy drugs down there the bouncer will drag u up the stairs and kick you out,

Lovely hotel in a very central position in the city. Liz and the rest of the staff are amazing and very attentive to your needs.
The restaurant/bar “the Amsterdam” in within the premises has a great selection of food and drinks and the staff is very friendly.
Will definitely book again! Thanks.

Room was clean and well presented liz at reception was very helpful overall a great wee hotel would highly recommend it.

Stayed at the Brunswick on 1st October and really enjoyed our stay. Friendly, helpful staff, and a comfortable spacious bedroom made sure we will definitely come back. Situated in a great part of the city, and it's handy having The Dam next door for food and drinks.

Always buzzing! A great place to stop off and have a snack or a meal. Great service, we’ve been taking our son since he was a toddler.

We were offered a choice of rooms and asked for a quiet one. Hotel is convenient for city centre and all attractions. Service with a smile, as one would expect in Glasgow.

Was only in the bar. Friendly staff and reasonable drink prices. Cool vibe.

The staff extremely friendly and courteous, rooms maybe a bit small but worth it since you're in the city centre.

Just a wee complaint as this hotel is a shitehole my partner and her sister stayed here for an overnight and not only was the rooms tiny but she also slept in a blood stained mattress so after phoning 4 times to speak to a manager since the 26th May my partner just phoned back for the 5th time to be told a refund of £20 will be given no thankyou a paid £100 this is shocking the hotel reception isn’t the best either no one is never there to answer a phone and now we are having to leave the £20 to then speak to the person that owns it absolute terrible service certainly won’t be booking this again! ragen is an understatement.

Our favourite hotel in Glasgow. Budget but friendly. Fab location for arriving by train and walking everywhere. Great bar and restaurant too.

Very clean undergoing a refurbishment but it didn't interfere with the stay. The small room is perfect for 1 night lots of towels iron and board and hair dryer. Great location would stay again.

Booked the penthouse suite and was told that it might be going under renovation but should still be available either on the date I booked or after in July. When I called up today I spoke to a lady called Ellen who sounded like she had great pleasure in telling me it wouldn’t be available with not much more info or help. She also cut me off mid sentence in my opening question when I asked about the booking. I then asked for help on anywhere like it nearby to try out instead and she bluntly said she didn’t know anywhere. Phone manners would be nice, this is all a customer can ask for.

Cheap and cheerful place to stay for a night. Could be doing with some refurbishment and the bed wasn't the comfiest (room 101). Staff were lovely.

This hotel is central and good location for merchant city. Receptionists friendly… however… place needs some investment. Rooms are small and desperately need new quality beds in them… Curtains need a good wash or replaced… shower unit and ceiling needs looked at… take earplugs as the noise on a Saturday night is thumping music and general noise of revellers outside. These factors are I guess reflected in price.

Nice place for a drink and a bite to eat. Clean and quick service. Small place but they use it well. Also have small underground private night club function room for hire. Nice small venue for birthdays and private functions. Trendy place in the heart of the merchant city.

Douglas is an excellent host. Very approachable and full if all information that we need. Superb service.

Very cheap stay for a night reception and cleaning staff were friendly and has a good restaurant and bar.

Last minute hotel booking, Decor was a little bit to be relished. Certainly felt a little like a brothel. Room was comfortable enough and great access to Merchant city for a night out.

I visited the attached restaurant called Brutti Ma Buoni. Always a favourite of mine they have an extensive menu of comfort foods, mexican and salads. There is also a rotating special menu usually with something interesting on there. Staff are always super friendly and service is generally prompt. The only disappointing part was that the selection of beers seems to have narrowed. Perhaps with brew dog around the corner they thought it unnecessary. Anyway. Worth it.

Questionable cleanliness.

Good value for a wee overnighter in Glasgow, rooms could do with a wee makeover, mattress was rather hard, windows could do with an overhaul, we came with another couple, who were on the1st floor, who returned about 12.45 and couldn't sleep till the bar below turned off the music, blaring even though there was no one in the bar, was on 2nd floor and when I got home at 1.30 /1.45 it was still on. So bar staff please take note you have guests above you.

Stayed here as a break from the norm (Premier Inn) and was disappointed — I stayed one of the king bed rooms which in itself was quite nicely laid out — the whole place needs a scrub top to bottom though — the bathrooms are very poorly fitted. Mattresses are shot. Breakfast is poor and coffee is hit and miss.

Nice atmosphere. Good drinks selection. Staff are great, very welcoming especially Kyle the barman who cheerfully made all my drinks to the best of his ability.

This is a great wee place, Iv stayed here a few times both in the small room and in the penthouse. The staff are friendly and very helpful, and the food is great with something for everybody. The small room is compact as it describes on the website However is ideal for someome looking for a place to lay their head at the end of night having been out in the city centre. The location is perfect, in the heart of the merchant city. The penthouse is really something else! It's stunning with floor to ceiling windows with great views out to the streets below, I would highly recommend staying here for a night or two. I actually laughed when I read so many people's complaints about this hotel! This is a 2 STAR HOTEL! And a very good one at that! If you want to pay for an expensive luxury hotel with all the mod cons then that's fine. If your looking for a hotel that offers great value for money, a clean room, and excellent service then this is the perfect place for you. This is a 2 star hotel! You get what you pay for and more it's a great wee place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Lunch menu, fantastic lots of choice, super tasty and all cooked fresh to order. Serving staff second to none. Great atmosphere and right in the heart of the merchant city.

A little hotel in the heart of the city. My room was small but clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. I'd certainly recommend it.

To be honest I didn't like anything about this hotel. The room was small, stale smell, unclean and needing freshened up. A size of the room is a bit small. Not much space between beds and wall. The room was pretty shabby, not like the photos on the website. The room was not valued for money. Very small shower. It's not a very safe and hygienic room to stay in!

Had an overnight stay with wine n nibbles and continental breakfast, once we found the hotel (we were rubbish at following directions) it is in a nice handy location, room was nice and had everything we needed, enjoyed the bar, staff were nice n service was good, same at breakfast time, we would book the Brunswick again and recommend it to friends.

Service was nice, people were friendly. Window was broken, good thing there was alot of hesting, cracked bath and other objects but no matter it was good.

Room was in very good condition, good Wi-Fi speed, staff was very helpful — allowed me to keep my luggage for a while after checking out.

Please avoid this hotel if you want to spend your money in an honest establishment. They withheld a security deposit, then produced a SECOND set of terms and conditions to justify their actions. Their staff then came up with several untrue stories, none of them matching. Trading standards agreed that their actions were illegal, but seem to be an ineffectual organisation when it comes to getting justice in these situations. This is probably why dishonest hotels like The Brunswick are rife in the UK and keep getting away with stunts like this. Again, AVOID this disgrace of a place. If you want to risk it, I strongly recommend NOT handing over a deposit and asking for the terms and conditions not publicly advertised and withheld by the hotel (the word document with extra T's & C's typed on to the end! Not joking unfortunately! ) Disgusting experience from beginning to end. I will be very careful in the future (the only good thing to come out of this experience).

Stayed here for one night as a bed to sleep in after a days shopping and a girly night out. For the price we paid it was great. Room was spacious enough for 3 girls to get ready for a night out with our many shopping bags too! Was very clean, bedroom could have maybe done with a lick of paint but the bathroom was spotless. The staff were great — especially the guys who worked in the bar and were advising us on where to go. The room was a little warm for our liking and when I tried to turn the heating down it didn't seem to be on but opening the window soon cooled it down. Really liked this hotel, it's very quirky and perfect location if you're planning to hit the shops or bars at night — will definitely be back!
