Very clean and spacious no disability friendly tho.

Stayed here with friend while wedding shopping! Great location, lovely spotless room and good breakfast and service from Linda. Enjoyable stay.

Stayed one night and the room was ample for what we needed. Warm and clean. We stayed in the guest house across the road. Breakfast was lovely with good choice of cereals etc, but limited hot stuff, although was very good. Friendly efficient staff.

Unhelpful staff. Booked through a third party website and it was incorrectly down as a twin room I had booked. I showed my email to confirm I had booked a double. They seemed not to care and also wouldn't upgrade my room if I didn't pay the difference of price!
I kept the twin room and put the beds together and asked the same woman at reception if she could put a king sheet and duvet on the bed. She said yes ill do this. Came back later that night from the city and bed change wasn't done! Very Unhelpful from start to finish in this hotel! Twin room had stained carpet and stains on walls. Holes in bed base and chipped and worn furniture. I use hotels in Glasgow 3 times a month and will certainly not return here in future sadly!

I stayed at this hotel about 7 years ago with my uncle and it was lovely and quiet and great staff. One I’d definitely like to return to.

Booked the Argyll Hotel for a weekend break to go to see Still Game at the Hydro, hotel was a short walk to the Hydro. Bus stop outside the hotel for trips into city centre. The hotel was lovely and clean, great breakfast, comfy beds (we got an lovely free upgrade to the honeymoon suite as it was our 10th anniversary). Reece on the reception desk was without a doubt the best staff member we came across, so helpful.

Stayed here last weekend on our short break to Glasgow for "Still Game, Live! ". Staff was super friendly; breakfast was great; public transport right outside; hop-on-hop-off bus stop less than a block away; LOTS of pubs & restaurants within a short walk. Already planning to book another stay as soon as we can!

Clean, well presented and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful and given the central location the cost was less than expected.

My son has found this hotel on Booking. Com while we were desperate to find an accommodation at 11pm, after a long day and long drive. I found two extremely nice gentlemen at the reception and I asked to see a room. We fell in love right a way. My son whispered: "Mom, please, let's stay here. I LOVE it! " We did. We had great comfort, good sleep, nice shower, no noise, beautiful people at the restaurant, delicious breakfast and delicious cakes that we bought for the road. The girl at the front desk was really nice as well and she helped me to get all the information I needed, plus she advised us what other options we can have. I would love to stay here again and I recommend this place to everyone, with all my heart. <3

Currently staying in the guest house and we are really pleased. The room is tartan themed which is a nice touch, it’s also really quiet and cosy. Breakfast is amazing and the staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. We will definitely come back next time we’re in Glashow!

Hotel completely come down from the outside and sifted from the inside. Room is fine, the bathroom is new and clean. Breakfast is a single disaster. Little choice, nothing is fresh and bread is a cheap toast bread from the supermarket and all for 10€, total rip-off.

Fabulous… if I go back to Glasgow I'll try to get back to this hotel.

Hotel well located in the new district 2 2, 5 km from the city center. Nice room. Friendly staff. Giant bathtub. King size bed.

This was a highlight of our time in Glasgow in April. Excellent location, and the friendly staff directed us to a superb nearby pub. We will be back next time we cross the pond!

First time I have used here booked a twin room in guest house over the road, it had 3 single beds immaculate & clean. Breakfast was delicious & staff very friendly & helpful. Only 10min walk to the SEC Armadillo where my daughter & I were going to a show. Reasonably priced & excellant value for money will definately book here again instead of my usual place for future shows.

Good basic room with all the standard amenities, along with very helpful staff. The cohesive decor was a nice touch! The breakfast was too basic and not worth it. We were told no when asking for a toilet brush for the bathroom, which is a necessity when sharing a room with someone else! Very hot on the top floor, and the walls are thin — not their fault, but worth keeping in mind.

Excellent! I needed a place to stay for a night in Glasgow after a concert. This is an excellent hotel in that price range. Personally, I am unsure why it only has three stars from whatever body assigns stars — and, no, I have nothing to do with the industry or anyone involved.

Already a very good location close to the Museum and the University, the rooms are fine but the dimensions can be disparate, the 204 and 205 are very large, more than 25 m2, with good quality bedding, the other rooms are smaller but well when even, the staff is attentive to the guests, which is nice. In short a small hotel very nice and nice with a very Scottish décor, to recommend.

Great customer service. Awesome beds. Shower is a little temperamental, but it is beautiful. Shower tub combo so you can bathe if you want. The tub is really deep.

We are regular visitors to this hotel, its location is brilliant, so close to the SECC hydro, and city centre. The rooms have just been refurbished and they look very nice with lovely tartan decor. The breakfast is absolutely delicious which is a self service buffet with all you need to set you up for the rest of the day. The dining room has been refurbished and it's absolutely gorgeous. Praise must also go to Mr. Bobby Bashir & Linda for looking after everyone so well, the personal touch really makes a difference to your stay. A big thank you to the rest of the staff for service with a smile it's much appreciated. Thank you all see you in October.

Some spot really friendly staff could not fault them especially having to put up with 17 of us at a hen couldn't have been nicer I will definitly go back.

A nice hotel, very cozy and very nice people there, I can only recommend.

This hotel is a mixed bag. I booked mainly because of the free parking and on-site restaurant, as a place to stop over after a 5-hour drive. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed with no notice (despite menus stuck on every available wall persuading guests to eat there) and no explanation from a disinterested receptionist, which didn't get the stay off to a great start. The room was comfortable and very clean, and the breakfast was great for the price. In short, the nuts and bolts of my stay were absolutely fine, but I wasn't made to feel welcome at all, and I won't be staying again.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago Do not stay in room one. It is tiny and a very uncomfortable mattress. Cheap mattress could feel every spring, left after two nights with an aching back. Room needs a refurbished, old carpets and too large scruffy furniture. Bathroom good and breakfast fine, porridge nice. It is important to get decent sleep and l had none due to mattress.

Staff lovely. Breakfast brilliant. Room 304 twin tiny! Steer clear. However Room 306 which our friends had was double and lovely.

Had a lovely stay here when attending a nearby dance event with my teen son. Staff nice and lovely breakfast. Walked into Glasgow City Centre but takes at least 30-45 minutes. Nice coffee shops and restaurants near hotel.

It is a very Scottish place, very comfortable, the staff is frankly warm located in the very Priche district of the university, many good restaurants around we will return.

Good location close to Kelvin Grove Park, museum, library, shops, cafes and Glasgow University. Staff are helpful and courteous. The room was clean and we'll decorated. The cooked breakfast was tasty and filling. Good value!

Very clean and tidy. Excellent rooms for the price. When we arrived the woman on reception couldn't of been nicer, helping us where to go and parking arrangements. Couldn't be said for the Asian woman on reception in the morning. Don't think she smiled once. Breakfast was a buffet style full Scottish or continental both were equally really good. Parking is very limited, think about 5 spaces round the back of hotel. There is on street parking which isn't that expensive, however they do a council deal which is very cheap. Overall a pleasant stay, and very central to where we needed to be in Glasgow.

Nothing special but friendly staff, clean tidy room with a really new bathroom. I traveled on my own and the room had a good lock on the door which I appreciate. Best power shower I've had (although I've only tried a few so it's not saying much! ) Perfectly hot and powerful and the best way of waking up properly in the morning. I'm always cold so asked for a spare duvet which was delivered to the room promptly. I turned the radiator up as well and by the morning the room was very toasty, so if I'd gotten to the hotel earlier and put the heating up I wouldn't have needed the duvet I think. Breakfast was standard, decent enough. All in all, good value for money and definitely worth £35 for a single room.

Booked in for the night due to attending a show. Was expecting a twin room but was allocated the family room. Decor was beautiful in the room and well stocked with tea coffee etc. Staff were friendly and plenty of choice for breakfast. Would definitely go back.

Clean, tidy quite place. 77 bus to city centre. Close to Glasgow University & watering holes.

The hotel was ok but I'm being generous when I give it this rating…! Do not rely on the photographs of the room for the not accurate…! Also when there are events on this hotel likes to rip people off by having a laugh by asking for ridiculous prices…! Has a world-renowned academic who has studied at numerous world renowned universities and also is a renowned cultural anthropologist and is well travelled and has lived in many hotels in many parts of the world I can strongly recommend when I say this with over 30 years of experience and living in more than several hundred hotels in my lifetime…! Do not spend more than £100 in this hotel I recommend you make your maximum price £80 for the quality of the rooms.! Yours sincerely Shifu Colins MA. Efficient service. Clean rooms. All neccessary facilities. Nice suburb with many eateries, pubs and bars and within walking distance to the city centre (around half an hour).

I stayed a few years ago on my first trip to Glasgow: It was adequate for my needs. Small room and bathroom at the top but no view. Did not bother me. Lift to the top so no need to lug cases. Staff were pleasant & helpful. The breakfast were really good. I was lucky with my room & would return but would make sure that I had a good room pre-reserved, after all, it is a budget hotel and no one wants a bad experience.

Found a nice parking spot on the street right out front of the entrance. Front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They helped point me the in the right direction to get a SIM card for my phone. The room was very nice, beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was adequate and very clean. Nice view of the city street from the window and no noise from other occupants. They provided is with a early breakfast because we had to leave early. Very nice hotel, definitely recommended.

Staff were friendly and had a decent breakfast in the morning. The poor rating is based purely on size of the room. Room 302 was tiny. Almost had to climb over the bed to get into toilet. And couldn't get into any drawers for a mis placed chair which there was no space to move. Also on a very humid night there was no air con. And last but not least we were underneath a set of stairs. Pretty loud feet, especially in morning. Overall I reckon the room would be a better cupboard perhaps. I'm sure other rooms are good based on most reviews, but room 302 is definitely not worth paying for. Ruined a rare romantic night away.

Natalie, Lauri and the gang hosted my murder mystery birthday dinner party and made sure we all had a great night! The personal touches were just wonderful and the actors were a ball. You know you're being looked after when your hosts head out specifically to buy you tequila. Having been advised that the evening would come to an end around 11pm, the last of our party were rocking the bar well into the night, without being made to feel unwelcome at all. Couldn't have asked for a more jovial crew. Thank you for making my night one to remember!

We absolutely loved our room (205), four poster bed and a huge corner bath, staff couldn't be more helpful, location was perfect for the hydro with plenty of bars and places to eat nearby, breakfast was a buffet full breakfast, we will def be back again.

We booked our room through late rooms, we paid £56 for an overnight stay not including breakfast, we were offered to book for breakfast on arrival for £5 per person, our bedroom was huge, 1 double bed and 3 singles haha, the bedrooms had tea/coffee and plenty of it, plenty to choose from at breakfast time from yogurt, cereals and full fry up, tea/coffee and juices so something for everyone, would highly recommend, and only 10 min walk the the sse hydro, the girl on reception even gave us a map so was easy to find, would defo go again x.

Hi Patricia and Cristie, We would to thank for this amazing and pretty days in Glasgow. Our hearts " will cry " to leave this fantastic Land Called Scotland. We staied very well in your location and we hope to return before possible. We also want to thank the Sir, the Young boy that enable us to print the check in for return in Rome and all the people of breakfast room. The breakfast has been very abounded, with toasted bread, integral bread, sausages, bacon, stramble eggs, beans, potatoes, Mango's/Orange/Ace Juice, tea, coffe Milk. The bed and the room have been very comfortable and romantics. i' m hopeness to rewiew and live other days in Scotland and when I will be return in roma, I talk about Argyll Hotel with my friends. The guesthouse seemed a bit run-down. Can confirm a bit of a smell from the drains mentioned in one of the other review. But still alright and to be expected for the price category, I suppose. What wasn't alright were the bedbugs in the room. Caught several ones crawling around during the 2nd night after noticing 6 bites. Even brought one to the reception and asked for another room. There was none available, though. Management didn't even think to offer a refund or anything else for that matter. 2/5. Would not sleep in and get bitten by nasty bed bugs again.

Nice clean hotel, good breakfast and friendly helpful staff.

Basement room very, very small and claustrophobic. The view looked out over rubbish bins, so I did not really feel like spending any time there at all. There was a smell from the bathroom drains. Otherwise, the room was clean. I did not sleep well because of the noise from late arriving/departing guests. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and breakfast in the hotel across the road was fine.

I found this bed and breakast perfect for a short stay and found everything to be fine. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was superb would recommed it to anyone.

A real jewel of a hotel situated 15 mins walk from city centre. Food is wonderful, staff very helpful and courteous, rooms are cosy and very clean. All the amenities you would expect at a far more expensive hotel are here. Free Wi-Fi, digital TV etc. Food is worth a special mention, very tasty, speedy service, very impressive standards, bar is well stocked with finest beers and good selection of malts. All in all, a home away from home, unbeatable value and I will certainly visit the Argyll again.
