Excellent service, decent breakfast, club rooms comfortable with comfy bed and feather pillows. Normal King room is good, comfy bed and synthetic pillows. I have dropped from 5 to 4 stars as the general cleanliness has slipped a little the last two times I have stayed and the décor especially in the bathrooms is starting to look a bit shabby.

Fantastic breakfasts. Rooms & beds comfy & good views over The Clyde. Good extras included in the room too (bottled water, biscuits, robe, slippers etc). Gym is small and basic, pool is small too, but has steam room & sauna.

Two stars, not four. This place is kidding itself on if they think they are a good example of a conference hotel. Prices are on par with the Marriott across the motorway but without the class. Only two of the staff I encountered over the weekend could be called good. Others sneered at guests when they thought nobody was looking, totally unprofessional. At least 4 different toilet stalls were damaged and cleanliness of many fixtures throughout the hotel was lacking. Even if you are in the city at the secc, hydro or armadillo, find somewhere else to bed down for the night. This place needs a major staff reshuffle. PS — don't take your car, the approach road is eroding badly and you risk landing in a pothole.

Had a great evening here for a boxing event. Enjoyed a very nice meal, considering the number served at once this was something I had been concerned about. Friendly staff and very good service. Drinks prices are higher than bars but what you expect in a hotel. An enjoyable experience.

Pretty old hotel. Service is okay. Yesterday, I reported the hair dryer doesn't work. When the reception sent someone to us, I thought she would bring another hair dryer for us. Instead, she just came and checked if the hair dryer really doesn't work or not. Feel like she didn't believe me. After her checks, she also realized it's really broken and then she went to find another one for us. It would be great if they can believe guests. The only advantage is the location. Very close to the conference center.

We do love the Crowne Plaza however this visit was not the best. We were placed in a room next to the elevators which provided a lovely back ground noise to our relaxing morning We had a prior engagement out with the hotel so did not eat or drink there so cannot comment, and although we left without breakfast it is usually worth it. The checkout staff very keen to ensure you pay for the parking (which always annoys me with a hotel). However 'buyer beware' although we paid there was No need to as the barrier was automatically opened as we approached (although is it worth the embarrassment if it doesn't). All in all though we do like staying at the IHG Crowne Plaza.

Amazing service from staff who were friendly, happy to help and very patient. Gorgeous rooms and a really excellent location for the nearby conference centre. Ate in their restaurant one evening which was excellent quality. Bar staff particularly friendly.

Room decor was beginning to look a little tired. Only 1 dressing gown provided for my wife and I to share! Heating and air con was very noisy. Our stay was a gift so perhaps I'm being a little harsh. On the plus side the showers are amazing, restaurant food and service was good and the staff where very pleasant and well trained as you would expect.

Hotel rooms are really nice and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent too in terms of quality. The poor review is due to the following: (i) check in took 25 minutes. Why is it a surprise that large numbers of guests will check in between 4pm and 6.30pm? Why would a hotel of this size only have 2 reception staff working? There were only 6 of us in the queue! and (ii) housekeeping were knocking on my door at 8am! Check out isn't until 11am so why the rush to make up my room? Housekeeping must have a list of occupied rooms and reception must know who has checked out, so why bother guests?! So many good hotels in Glasgow, this isn't one of them.

Coming to Glasgow for a couple of days? … Stay here. Trust me. Restaurant food is excellent for a hotel buffet, they have lots of parking spaces, lovely rooms and great staff. If you're very lucky, you might just get a room with an awesome view of the river but even if you don't, this hotel is in a great location.

Went on business and loved the hotel. Lovely room. Clean, tidy and good facilities. Nice food at the restaurant. The burger was really good and breakfast was OK. Slightly better food would have gotten this place a 5, but overall it is a great hotel.

Nice bar with an OK coffee which although a little small came with a shot glass filled with maltesers. Whilst there I noticed there was registration taking place in the bar for British Athletics so the place was filled with (literally) fit young people. It was a good atmosphere and a warm place to wait for friends. Nearby the setting sun produced some excellent shots of local iconic architecture such as the Armadillo, The Hydro, The Science Centre and The transport Museum and the crane as well as the tall ship and the Waverly Paddle Steamer. On a sunny day it's a lovely part of the city to visit and in the winter it's important for a warm spot as by the river it does get incredibly cold!

Purpose built city centre hotel right on the banks of the River Clyde and 200 metres from ssec and hydro concert venue. 10 minute walk into city centre. Room are spacious and very clean. Food good quality with a nice relaxing bar area. Average prices for city hotel. Location means minimal transportation costs once you arrive.

Hotel is in a cracking location on the bank of the Clyde, room was clean and tidy. They only had a single room left, but the bed was fine. Shower was great, hot & plenty pressure. Reception staff were great. Nice big carpark. Can't fault it.

I have Christmas day meal here every year. I really enjoy every aspect of the day with the Crown Plaza. The staff are lovely and always there to help. The food is great and there is alway an amazing spread of hot fresh food. Santa makes a great appearance the magician is swell and the singer sings. My only slight issue is being hard of hearing the singer is very loud when she tours the restaurant and makes it very hard for me to catch conversations.

Amazing service from the Crowne Plaza! Myself and my partner went there for our birthdays and we were treated so well by all of the staff. They made our birthdays feel so special and even sang us happy birthday with a cake! We also had an issue that the spa facilities were under maintenance throughout our visit and wouldn't be available and they dealt with our concerns very professionally! Definitely will be back!

Attended a Christmas party night. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was decent and function was brilliant.

Great room and view over the river. Comfy bed, slept well which is not like me. Small room with a huge bed, preferred smaller bed so there could be 2 comfy chairs to sit on. Bathroom was average, but lack of grab handles on the bath made it difficult for us both to get out if the bath. When 2 people are staying in the room, why only 1 towelling gown and slippers. Other than those little complaints we have enjoyed our stay and will come again.

Great hotel, a little bit out for the city centre, perfect location for the Hydro. Clean and friendly staff. High level floors give you incredible views of Glasgow.

Loved my stay here, very spacious room with a comfortable bed and lovely riverside view. The breakfast was great, well prepared with lots of choice. I enjoyed a swim in the pool. Nice bar area with friendly staff.

Good room size. Big window with river view. Huge, comfortable bed. Shower over bath. Tried both the buffet breakfast and dinner. Very good. Easy check in. £24 taxi fare to Glasgow Airport. Recommended.

What a lovely place to stay. We had a quick and easy check in and got into our room early — bonus as you don't get this in other hotels. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We had a snack at the bar which was very tasty. King room was well appointed with everything we needed. Both the room and the bathroom were clean.

Good size room for business trip, clean with decent fresh decor, felt like a Crowne Plaza lite in places. I travel a lot around the world and this is a favourite hotel brand if available. Disappointed with the view of. Largeparki g lot after being offered and requesting a room with a view of the Clyde. Elevators are pretty responsive, staff are very friendly some of the best I have found. Attractive location but not a great deal within walking distance to see or to eat if not dining at hotel. Hotel bar good with furniture outside by the river. Restaurant was above average with good variety. If in Glasgow then great place to stay if you don't need too much in terms of nearby facilities. Brilliant bed and pillows.

Absolutely brilliant! Room is clean. Bed is comfy. All you need is under the same roof; sauna, pool, gym, bar, restaurant just name it. We came to Glasgow for a concert but blaming myself already not staying longer than a couple of nights. Definitely returning!

Great hotel. Rooms were spacious, sockets have built in USB ports and the breakfast choice was huge and well prepared. The fire alarm was triggered during my stay and the staff handled it well, being visible throughout and handing out blankets for those that needed them. Once we got the all clear they opened up every back lift and stair case so we could get back to our rooms. Will definitely stay again.

Very very nice hotel!

Was there for a graduation ball. The staff were lovely but the dancefloor in the room was a bit small for so many people. Food could have been better too as the soup was too salty and the chicken a bit dry. However all in it was a very enjoyable night.

Fantastic time with the kids. Staff couldn't be more helpful in every aspect. We all loved our time there. Especially in the pool :)

Excellent hotel for visiting SECC. Very comfortable and modern inside. Check room allocation if you are on the top floor as some suffer from air conditioning equipment noise!

A good hotel, a bit tired on the occasion I visited, the restaurant and bar next to the reception are very nice but the room, pool and sauna room etc could use a bit of an update. Great if you are seeing something at the Hydro or SSEC but as you would expect from a Crown Plaza not cheap, so make sure to use more than just the room ir you may have well have stayed somewhere else.

Love this hotel, a wee bit awkward if u don't drive but Great if just wanting to chill or there is a concert on at the Hydro or SECC. Staff really friendly from check in to check out. Rooms spotless!

Great place to stay whenever I'm in Glasgow great food and views of the Clyde and the city are amazing recommend to anyone.

There were two big problems with the stay — first, the internet was next to non-existent in the rooms and lobby! For a business hotel, this is a complete no-no! This was not just my experience but pretty much the large group/company staying at the hotel! I had to use my personal 4G during my entire stay and for business needs, this pretty much ate my data for the month! Most annoying! Second, and this might be a Glasgow wide problem, which I've experienced many times (bring on Uber) but the taxi situation is dire! If you're happy with a 30 min wait in the cold in the hope a taxi will come around dinner time, then fine, but I travel the world and Glasgow is exceptionally bad (been many times over the years) on this point. The bad thing for the hotel is that they are not exactly in the centre of town and there doesn't appear to be any desire to improve upon this situation — so be organised, especially if taking a large group out! Pre-book your transport ahead of time. The rooms were not exactly great, but they were OK and because the hotel is right next to the conference centre, this makes up for the lack of frills in the room. Beds were generally comfortable. Food was OK, the bar was OK and the staff were great.

One star simply because of the outrageously poor internet (non-existent Wi-Fi), and to add to it, my phone didn't work! How can this be possible at a business hotel? When I was speaking to the manager about the fact that incoming calls were being redirected to voicemail after half a ring, and the message button was constantly blinking (but when I checked, there never were any messages) the line was disconnected! When he tried to call me back, it went directly to voicemail! I was unable to access the internet for business which caused massive problems and basically received no help from the hotel. In fact, the manager admitted they have problems, and that is an understatement. If you need Wi-Fi to work and are counting on it from your hotel, do not book in here.

Asked for vegetarian meal in advance, was served dessert with gelatine. If you have special diet requirements, dietary or religious reasons, please avoid Crown Plaza Glasgow as even after reminding staff on table that vegetarian meal was order in advance and asking before every course I was still served a dessert with gelatine in. After couple of bite, asked to check if it was definitely suitable for vegetarian and then got told no. Still feeling sick and disgusted.

Nice comfortable room with good view. Decent but pricey restaurant. Fantastic breakfast selection with Scottish favorites such as black pudding, square sausage and potato scones. Good health club, cardio equipment, pool (smallish, 12-strokes' worth but still), sauna and steam room. Great perks for IHG loyalty card customers, 20% off bar and restaurant etc. Recommended.
