Brilliant dessert place in sparkhill SWEET ladypool rd good service, price ok dessert delicious atmosphere good in evening quiet in afternoons.

Never actually stayed in there as was just passing through with my partner stopped off to let traffic die down when we witnessed young girls between 16 to 19 drunk and being supplied what seemed to us more than alcohol why a hotel. Would let four men go to a room with 2 young girls is disgusting.

Worst place ever needs to be shut down. Room was filthy sinks dirty toilet had a number 2 in it. Room was dusty. When sleeping in bed felt like insects were crawling on me. Then asked to move rooms and the second room was the same dusty and dirty. The receptionist guy with the ginger beard seemed to have a bad attitude on him and didn’t seem to mind the drunk guy shouting abuse to people. There was another drunk guy in reception walking around the hotel intimidating people. How can this hotel still be running. It’s the worst I’ve ever been to please do not waste your time here.

We checked into our room after 4 hours of travelling, only to be put into a room that had an old smell of smoke in it, our bath had a crack in it, the bathroom was really untidy and NOT clean. Really hot in the rooms. Made us laugh as there were signs saying no smoking (what a joke) Rooms were so dirty and marks on the walls, beds weren't clean. Just AVOID not worth paying for!

Down-market, tired and dated. I checked out after a couple of hours so can't comment on the night's sleep or the shower etc. Large free car park and room was warm though.

This is not a Hotel, It is an absolute disgraceful, dirty, smelly building, The owners should be prosecuted for charging anyone money for this filthy place, It should be taken of the website,

What can I say I can excuse the run down place. Very dated Mathew was lovely rest of the staff are rude. I would advise anyone wanting to stay here not to this is what welcomed us after a 18 hour day. Nothing was done about it and no one will speak to me about so so cross.

Do not pay more than £40/night.

The Birmingham hotel is a nice hotel for people who are staying in Birmingham to go.

I stayed at this hotel worst experience ever worst hotel ever very rude workers got chucked out of room at exactly 10 o'clock there was no one to talk to you are very very rude. Got woken up in a very aggressive manner after I couldn't sleep all night because the beds are terrible. Avoid staying at the hotel experience and I go to a lot of hotels unless you want to a unclean hotel, and get treated like a dog,,,!

I have never seen people so courteous as the people in Birmingham. They are kind, funny and soft hearted. Food is cheap and amazing at the same time. So many places to go. If u know where u are going, you will never feel bored at all!

It is easy to find and has a nice large car park but that is it's only redeeming quality. There is an intercom to get in but reception wasn't manned when we arrived so we had to stand in the cold for 20 minutes waiting for someone to appear. Tried ringing but again you're ringing an unmanned reception desk. When he finally arrived there was no apology, he just complained about being on his own. Check in was quick and simple but on the trek up to the room you will easily notice how dirty the place is. The stairs and hallway clearly haven't been hoovered in years, the carpets are disgusting and heavily stained throughout and I doubt the decor has been freshened up for at least the last 10 years. Finally arrived at our room, with a clear non-smoking sign on it yet when you open the door it stinks as though someone has been chain smoking cigars in there. Again carpets were very old and filthy although it had been hoovered recently which was a surprise. Bedding was nice and clean albeit a very low quality but the bed was clearly decades old and and the mattress was awful. It was quite springy in the sense it felt like you were on a water bed but you could feel every single lump and spring no matter how you positioned yourself. Bathroom was surprisingly clean but very dated, looked very late 80's/early 90'd. Shower was reasonable and no issues with hot water.

The Bullring is a fabulous shopping centre, the shop attendants are so helpful it's a really lovely experience. I adore Moor Street Station, the German Christmas Market and the variety of shops. And let's not forget the best Indian food in the country.

Horrible place, the carpets were manky not hoovered and the rooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the seventies! Staff aren't much better sent an email of complaint and still waiting on reply months and months later! Cheek to charge room prices for that dump!

The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly to the point where one even offered to nip home to get me a pint glass however the bar and restaurant are still under construction. The Wi-Fi is too slow for netflix the rooms are very dated and the locals use the car park as a racetrack. By the look of the work that has been ongoing for four years the hotel could be very nice but I would wait another four years before you try it.

Not a very well set out hotel, no lift to get to upper floors and rooms are dated and dreary.

Undergoing refurbishment so fully equipped temporary reception in action. You can see through to the new one which looks proppa posh. Still got disabled access and staff happly to help.

Staff are very helpful and polite. When extended my day at early notice, wasn't expecting to get it cheaper and found that to be very generous. Rooms are spacious and clean and staff on hand when needed for any issues.

Do not stay here at all! stayed as it was booked by work Supposed to be being refurbished but no work going on Come back to room in same state it was left in the morning (dirty towels unmade beds etc) Breakfast is just toast or cereal bread is not fresh and everything is left out overnight. No evening meals and nowhere nearby to eat so takeaways only. Car park is full of scrap cars from a nearby garage Rooms are noisy as walls are paper thin and if there are actually any other guests the receptionist has a habit of putting them right next door to you despite having 50 other rooms to choose from. people next door were actually fighting in the corridor at 6am after spending all night drinking/playing music. All doors cannot be closed quietly and slamming doors are heard every few mins. Showers are mixers on the bath taps and either red hot or scalding. Staff are friendly though.

The staff was hostile. The rooms were depressing, shabby, and had basic maintenance issues (one of ours had no cold water in the sink). Avoid if at all possible.

Avoid avoid avoid! I needed a hotel to stay in for a night until I had the keys to our new house. As soon as I walked in, the hotel stank of dirty scummy awfulness. I sat on the bed for 10 minutes. Me and my husband felt physically sick. I could not stay there so we both walked out, the bedsheets stank (not fresh) and there were blood stains on them! we wasted £60 on this awful hotel. Just hooded pervs everywhere. Not decent! not a place for a couple and definitely not for a family!

Would love to give no stars for unfriendly staff (kitchen/service), low level breakfast and rooms from the 1960's. But I survived (2011), hence 1 star.

Low priced Birmingham Hotel great for one nite.

Wasnt a bad hotel except I rang up and booked it then when I got there they said it wasnt booked and lucky enough there was 1 room left. They did have a bar but only sold canned pop ie cans of coke. Fanta. 7up.

The hotel room was scorching hot and you couldn't turn the radiators off, the shower fell apart as I used it, it was a thoroughly awful experience, I will never ever stay here again or recommend this to even my worst enemy.
