Nice venue. Easy location for New Street station. Cheap drinks and decent food. Another 5 stars for whetherspoons.

Spacious, comfortable, good facilities (tea, coffee). Large family room, clean, helpful and polite staff. Very well situated in City Centre. Reasonable pub-restaurant attached. Good stay.

Good quick food. Comfy and spacious. There's unlimited hot drinks and self service coffee machine. Wetherspoons is usually a good option for a nice, affordable and fast breakfast. Generally they serve food til late and there's now an app so you can order and pay for food at the table.

Lovely pub, lots of seating and tables, huge selection of drinks, the ale is beautiful and cheap, always got new selections and specials, the staff are wonderful, even during busy periods they're maintaining the floor and cleanliness… Toilets are always fresh and clean, great atmosphere, wonderful food quality, quantity and affordable too. Great food selection for adults, children, vegetarians and vegans… Only downfall is no space for a smoking area, so you use the front of the pub, still no issue but it's nice to have a designated smoking area for the summer too, overall 5* top pub!

Room was clean with a very comfy bed and nice towels. Room had complimentary tea making facilities, iron and ironing board. Extra pillows and towels in the wardrobe. Staff at reception very polite and friendly. Would stay again.

This is where I go for drinks after work with friends and honestly, it's a good pub for that. Good atmosphere, good prices, good food. However, the last time I went I'd ordered food and once I'd had it, was told I needed to pay for it. It turns out a nearby table had ordered the same three sharing dishes that I and my friends had ordered… at the same time. It seemed suspicious at first as I didn't want to pay twice for the meal. I politely put my point across and listened to the shift leader however she was incredibly rude — much ruder than the other stressed staff members. I was told "I don't care" as I calmly explained things from my point of view. I also work in the service industry so I know how stressful it can get at busy times and the service is generally great, however I expected a better attitude from someone in charge.

Served fairly quickly for a Friday evening at a city centre pub. Didn't try the food but draft beer selection was good, they had no draft cider only bottled. That wasn't so good. Most tables had little at them and it wasn't too busy but not much casual seating available. Staff were regularly cleaning up but it was a weird balance between a potentially nice hotel and somewhere locals just grabbed a drink. Unfortunately it needed Doorman to keep them in check so turned a hotel experience into a local pub with all that attracts. Doorman were however very polite and professional and welcoming.

Good priced drinks and reasonable inside. Plenty of room and ample toilets if always out of toilet paper and need to be better looked after. Food looks good and drinks are nice. Good prices as it’s a weatherspoons.

Here for my birthday for 2 nights. Room was nice, not the most modern but that's the nice thing about this hotel. Breakfast was amazing for the cost, with unlimited hot drinks if you choose the option. Well done weatherspoon's.

Friendly receptionist. Was very helpful. Can leave luggage behind reception even after you've checked out which is handy if you want to roam around the Bullring.

Rooms are o. K… Only problem, if you have a family room is the noise from the road outside… We were all woken up by loud banging due to a delivery of Beer Barrels at 5:30 in the morning… Don't know if it was for Briar Rose or the Pub next door… After that you hear road sweepers, bin lorries etc. Food was nice in evening however breakfast was cold…

Called in for breakfast, being a wetherspoons you can pretty much guarantee what you are getting. Food was average as with most wetherspoons. Beautiful building with interesting interior. At the entrance I was cheerfully welcomed by 2 door supervisors (can only assume it was match day) the young girl on the till barely managed a smile and struggled to reciprocate the friendly banter you can usually have with barstaff. Overall not a bad experience. Would visit again.

This is a fantastic pub venue situated in the heart of Birmingham in Bennett's Hill off New Street. A Wetherpoons Pub with the usual variety value for money food and drink and also tea and coffee. Students like this place especially but there is a great mix of folk. Being in the heart of the city it's a great place to chill out then shop or go somewhere else afterwards. It's very spacious too. Wonderful.

Overall nice experience, as with most Wetherspoon Pubs. We both had burgers, good arrived quickly and was hot. My partner had the pulled beef burger but the pulled beef was not very nice and she ended up string the burger to eat it. Other than that God value for money.

Very very busy. Managed to find a table at the back. Someone cleared it and cleaned it for us. We ordered using the app because the bar was busy. I would recommend this, we even did a test. I got my drink quicker than someone at the bar! Toilets were clean. They were out of most draught beers but then it was very busy. Would return here.

Was very busy however we still managed to find a table, we then used the whetherspoons app to order and received our drinks extremely quick. Very impressed.

Popped in for a cheeky drink and a meal friends. Although the place was really busy we received our food within around 20 mins and was very nice indeed. Location is superb as is in central Birmingham.

A really nice pub with a respectable clientele. A good selection of well kept beers and some reasonable wine. Every time I have been it has been packed so others clearly agree. Close enough to New Street train station and only a short walk to the Christmas Market. Food available too if you are there at the right time of day.

Came for breakfast. Was very busy, and there was a shortage of mugs, so we had to wait a while for our coffee and tea. Breakfast took slightly longer than you usually expect from a Spoons. However in the end the food what exactly what you expect for a very good oride.

It is a nice spoons, with a good range of drinks and fairly comfy. It was a little small, but we were able to find a table and order easily. The spoons app did not recognize the table we were sat at so did have to go and order at the bar though.

Older hotel in great location. Bathroom could be cleaner (with little help od bleach). Lovely staff. Great size of room (luxury double) with very comfy bed.

Well equipped rooms in a good location. Close to the train station and restaurants. Staff very welcoming. Excellent breakfast available in the Weatherspoons below. One star lost due to the noise from extractor fans that are on until late at night then back on again early in the morning.

Loving the new ordering system. Simple, quick and saves me spilling my drinks on the way back to my table. Standard weatherspoons… Could do with a bit of a return but nice enough and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Visited on a Thursday evening about 5pm. The place was very full but the food we ordered still arrived remarkably quick. Very friendly staff. Nice clean toilets.

Value for money lodging. It's basic without feeling cheap. Attached pub also has very well priced food and drinks from the menu, but was too packed when I tried getting a table for dinner.

Briar Rose very quickly became a staple of evenings after long days in university. Whetherspoons food and drink are near enough all the same so nothing different to comment here. But the vibe is good here, nice and chilled during the daytime and when the evenings come it becomes a hive of a whole swathe of Birmingham life. It can be difficult to get a table after 5 on a Friday or Saturday though.

Very central, totally underpriced for the standard. Quiet rooms. Some lovely period features. Some of the paintings on the walls were by local primary school children which was nice to see.

I attend on Monday evening, nice atmosphere and cheap drinks. Staff were polite. Ordered chicken burger and chips, all got a fresh Enjoyable evening.

Service was good, as we did not have to wait for drinks. The crowd were friendly, and the choice of drinks was very big. Loads of gins! Inexpensive.

First Wetherspoons that I've walked into, and then walked out. Spent ten minutes standing at the bar, big queue with two girls struggling to serve. As I only wanted a coffee decided to go elsewhere. Best described as a very popular dive.

It's a Wetherspoons so you know what you're going to get but this is always one of our safe bets in the city centre. It's cheap, food is quick even when busy, we've not had any issues and the staff are friendly. It's baby friendly too, the staff were great with our little one on our last trip.

Called in on Saturday afternoon for a dessert and a couple of drinks. Really busy in there as you'd expect, but managed to find a table. Good was nice and cheap, drinks were good too. Pretty good all round.

Great for a good inexpensive meal after an afternoon at a theatre matinee. Many of their meals include a drink too. See a show with your friends and a meal with a glass of wine afterwards GREAT!

Hey, it's a Wetherspoon city centre pub. The beer is normally quite good, the food acceptable (though not special). Everything is reasonably priced. The staff polite & attentive​, though with a rapid turnover it's difficult to establish a long term rapport.

A chain with the weatherspoons brand. Food is very cheap, cheerful and done to an average quality. Usually very packed there with it being the only weatherspoons within the centre. Also caters for food delivery to table from the app. Overall decent service with decent food but atmosphere could be a lot better.

A good Wetherspoons. Good guest ales. Have used the conference room a few times and that's always been tidy. And like many pubs more, the toilets feel like a three day trek away.

Visited to meet friends for afternoon drinks. Half pint of cider and large bottle of Mythos beer was less than £5 so excellent value for money. Friendly, polite staff and good atmosphere. Waiting times at the bar are reasonable.

Quite a quiet night, very easy to get served at the bar, plenty of staff on duty at the time. I like to drink ale and they have a great selection and more importantly the beer is kept right and served well. I would recommend.

Stopped off for breakfast before attending a meeting. Had the vegetarian breakfast which was really nice. The place was very quiet just before 8am. Good service, food came very quickly.

Went on a match day so knew it would be busy but it didn't seem like the staff were bothered about quick service. They were extremely slow and unhelpful at the bar. Not the best spoons I've been to!

Been several times before, the place and staff are very good but never eaten there. A few more alcohol free soft drinks would have been nice as they had no alternative to appletizer. Only down side are the toilet which are a bit out of the way downstairs through a bit of a maze of doors. But nice place for a drink and not too heavy on the pocket.

Really nice 'Spoons. Large drinking and dining area so it wasn't too long before we found a table. Great selection of bottled ales and food deals too. The waitress that served us was clumsy as but that was quite funny.
