A lovely receptionist checked us in, followed by a superb room. Breakfast was excellent, great choice with good service. All staff throughout were very pleasant and helpful. A great central location for sightseeing.

Lovely hotel, perfect location for our visit to the theatre. Easy check in, very helpful staff. We asked for a room away from the lifts and that’s exactly what we got. I had forgotten my slippers I asked at the front desk if they had any and when we went back to our room there was 2 pairs waiting for us. Nice bar area. Lovely breakfast, everything you could want. Will definitely stay again. Thank you guys.

Stayed there yesterday for an event. The staff were amazing; so helpful. They made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend this as a venue;we hosted 110 ladies for our annual Celebration yesterday. The food was amazing and our suite was so comfortable. Thank you to everyone who made our event a sucess.

Lovely place. We stayed in the one suite on the 16th floor as it was my partners 30th Birthday and also got engaged here on the evening in the room. Room was a bit out-dated could do somthing more with the rooms but it was fine.
Clean. Lovely place would visit again. Only thing id say is the £50 deposite you have to leave when you check in, refunded at check out the next day but its a bit off putting especially when your not told or probably was in the ‘fine print’.

Very nice bar area small but very clean and bar staff was very friendly great place to go for pre night out drinks and one before bed.

Recently booked a suite and the staff were excellent and very friendly. The suite was looking tired and I. Need of a really good deep clean. In a suite I would not expect hair in the bath and a very cheap toilet seat. The toilet seat looked like something at the very cheapest range of plastic. Only one wardrobe had clothes hangers. I think I would stay there again but it’s not ticked the boxes or a suite in the centre of Birmingham I would have expected. The windows inside and out required a clean. The air conditioning did not work and produced an error on the display. And with a full frontal glass building it is required. I would have paid more for a better room but this was the best I was shown.

Where do I begin?! Super room with breathtaking views. Divine afternoon tea, friendly and real service.

Stayed over for a work meeting and meal out, very comfortable and easy access to restaurants and town area. Station close by, parking was a bit of a pain and £30 for the night but overall good would definitely stay again.

I loved almost everything I say this because my stay way ruined by the heating that was blowing cold air in the middle of winter! I was give a large supplementary heater and an extra duvet. I didn’t sleep well and ate my breakfast in a rush as I was nearly late for my conference. I was so groggy in the morning from the night before as if I had been partying all night There are thoughtful touches everywhere but I wish they could switch to European traditional heating systems and not the air conditioning US style as it really dries out the skin more.

OMG — best ever! Staff is super kind and friendly! My flight was cancelled and I had to stay an additional night. A nice fruit surprised waited on my room to make "the best out of this"!

The staff went out of their way to make our family stay a very special one. They treated our daughters (aged 8 & 11) like guests in their own right. We were all delighted by the experience!

Stayed last night — lovely stylish hotel, staff more than helpful (especially the guy in the restaurant and the guy in the bar) However, totally let down by lack of information on the roadworks/route to the car park on the website or social media. The car park advertised is currently inaccessible by the route stated and after sitting in a complete traffic jam for 45 minutes we chose to park in another NCP car park that we could access. This car park parking is not validated by the hotel so cost us £30 to park. All it needs is a simple message on the website to warn people about the issue — poor service by Radisson — and we overheard a few other people who had the same issue. Spoilt an otherwise good stay.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Friendly staff and nice spacious rooms. Only bad thing is the curved corridors project every single noise along them so not great if you're a light sleeper.

A treat for Mothers day. My family joined me here for food which was amazing. The barman was lovely and offered to check if the Chef could do fish fingers for my grandson. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. Beautiful, comfortable accommodation. Thoroughly recommend it.

It is what it is! Clean room, which staff were able to get me into earlier than standard check in time. The downside beibg the view which was a wall however this was not a hotel I was staying in for the view! All staff I had interaction with were unbelievably lovely, which isnt always the case in these bigger hotels! The colleague I was with had a much nicer room but again this hotel is what it is… perfect for business travel in great location close to shops & restaurants & quiet!

I've stayed in many a Radisson Blu hotel, so I thought I knew what to expect. Usual city centre location, no onsite parking but discounted local NCP. Booked 2 rooms and ended up with 2 "accessible" rooms. Bizarrely the room doors opened outwards including the bathroom door. Not much of a view, overlooked the loading dock at the back. Other colleagues staying on outside rooms were impressed with the views, esp on the upper floors. Avoid the lower floors facing the rear, and esp the "accessible" rooms if you don't need it. Would maybe stay again if it was an upper floor room facing outwards.

Spent my birthday dinner and night out here. Firstly we had a standard double room which was lovely. Clean room, comfortable bed and good view of the city. Nice people checked us in (Thank you Katie and Nico! ) And gave us a good start to a lovely night stay! I definitely recommend a stay here and look forward to coming back for either a night getaway or a nice weekend for friends and family!

Good room fairly close to the city centre. Staff were very good. Tv clearly needed servicing though. Nearly falling off the wall. Apart from that a very good nights rest.

Came to see the T20 and stayed here. We were runnng a bit late and to be fair the meal we grabbed in the bar before leaving was quick and good, it all went downhill thereafter. Our room was extremely hot and we hoped that by leaving our key card in and the air con on whilst we were out it would cool down. We were lucky to grab a taxi soon after the cricket finished and were back before anyone else so ordered a bottle of wine and food. Half an hour later others arrived in the bar, still no food and we gradually noticed that all the people who arrived in the bar after us received their food. We asked where ours was. The excellent barman chased it up but after an hour still no food. It took an hour and a quarter for our "snack" to arrive by which time we were past wanting it. With regards to our hot room, we told reception that our air con wasn't working and were told maintenance weren't available and got handed a fan. We had the most uncomfortable night ever, feeling extremely hot, added to which the pillows were atrocious. At check out, we were told the money had been taken and then asked if we wanted a receipt, I would have thought it would have been common practice to allow us to check our bill first. Not particulary impressed and we stay in a lot of hotels who have been much better.

Stayed here over Birmingham Pride, wow what a hotel! Staff were so welcoming and all the extra little touches to make us attending Pride were so lovely! Great breakfast, so much variety and selection. Big rooms with Apple TV and the most comfortable beds. Loved our stay so much we have already re-booked for a summer shopping trip!

Great three nights, huge variety at breakfast, lovely staff very quick to clear plates and keepnthings topped up. Room was great lovely view, only critics was we couldn't turn the air con below 19. Didn't ask about it so it might have been able to be done Quiet we were on 18 th floor. Lifts very quick. Very pleased with choice we made.

I went for business purposes to this hotel. Easy to find. A few minutes from the Bull ring. Friendly staff member named Ricky. Was very helpful, professional, polite and considerate! He made my stay ever so enjoyable and comfortable! Room was lovely. Good sized King size bed. Clean carpet. Nice dining table and chairs. Maybe the bathroom was not as spectacular as the room hence the 4 stars and one other thing was the night shift reception staff who were not friendly at all. It felt like I walked into a scene of a mafia movie after a night out they need to be as friendly and welcoming as Ricky!

I did not stay at the Radisson Birmingham on this occasion (checked in on Facebook in the lobby) but I came with my daughter and her partner to check in, for her 40th birthday treat and felt that their welcome was less than warm, which would have been nice as it was freezing outside. The staff at reception were quite rude and seemed to have little empathy with the wet, freezing customers who were queuing after check time whilst they laughed and chatted in the office at the rear. I'd been with them earlier (albeit an hour before advertised check in) when they were told quite abruptly 'no, check-in is at 3pm'. No 'sorry' or 'I’m afraid'. I was brought up to believe that courtesy costs nothing. It should always apply in the service industry. Can't comment on the rest of the hotel as I didn’t stay but first impressions and all that. I stayed at the Premier Inn which was far cheaper and very friendly indeed! Other hotels are available Radisson Blu!

Attention to detail. I can’t find a single bad thing to say about this hotel. It’s easily accessible from the airport, the rooms are huge for UK standards and still on the large side for US standards. The service is professional, the Wi-Fi works great, it’s very clean with attention taken to clean the spaces in between, and it’s quiet. Something I wanted to mention was I sleep with a fan. I blew the fan I brought from the US on the first night of my trip here when I mistook a power strip for an inverter. This was at another hotel out of the city and they didn’t have a fan I could use so the last week has been terrible for getting a good nights rest. I gave this hotel a call and asked if they had any fans I could use. The gentleman on the phone said they don’t have fans since the hotel is climate controlled with air conditioning but he would put in a request. I didn’t think anything more of it until I walked into my room and the first thing I see is that they left a fan for me on the desk. It’s little things like this that make be very happy and will put this place in a permanent spot as my hotel for future business trips. 5 stars, no argument. Thank you if you work there and are reading this.

Very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I had booked this for a Valentine's surprise followed by a meal elsewhere. On arrival, it took 20 minutes to check in as my booking was not in the diary. The gentleman on reception did not seem to know what he was doing or how to rectify this situation. My partner and I were then woken up at 8.00am on Sunday morning asking that I report to reception as soon as possible to pay for our stay. I am so disappointed and angered by this experience, I will not be booking again! What was meant to be a romantic and relaxing experience was anything but that!

We really enjoyed our visit to this hotel. We stayed here as we were going to the Train gig at the O2. This is a 5 minute walk down the road so an ideal location for this. We ate after the gig at a great curry restaurant down the road which was recommended by the concierge. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and good variety. Wished we could have stayed longer but with the cost of parking so high, we're glad we didn't!

Over the past couple of weeks I've stayed in 3 rooms in this hotel, the experience has been good, and mostly ive slept well. Rooms at the front are superior rooms, they are slightly larger and have a good view with more windows. The xx04 and xx20 standard rooms at the rear corners have a unusual but neat layout. Xx20 rooms on floors 11 and lower have a view of the neighbouring hotel's wall (but this does block the morning light for a sleep in). Staff are nice and the breakfast is tasty, with a good range of options.

Great Service, everything we needed was in our room. Also when unfortunately we did have an issue with water pressure for the bath — staff were quick to give us the option to change room. Which turned out to be a massove upgrade for no extra charge. I'd recommend staying here to anybody (as long as you don't kind heights). Although it is more of a business style hotel, it's a great experience for anyone staying in the city for a weekend.

This was our first visit to Birmingham and the hotel was easy enough to find with parking available in the NCP close by. The staff at check-in were friendly and the hotel reception had a modern feel too it. The room we were allocated was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable with supportive pillows. We went out for dinner and the hotel is close to amenities such as the Bullring and Mailbox. Breakfast was first rate and once again the staff were friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again.

Nice hotel central location great breakfast including fresh smoked salmon which was a treat! Rooms good quality. If you are nervous about going out at night I would suggest you eat in the hotel the area can be challenging!

Lovely hotel. Nice big rooms with air con which is handy on warmer nights. Friendly staff and good security, check in was quick and easy so we were up at the room within a matter of minutes. Parking on site for those that need it. Beds were very comfy and as we had a room on the outside we also had a full length window so we were able to admire the view in the evening. Breakfast was lovely and a very big selection of food on offer to suit everyone. They had everything from continental breakfast snacks to a self service traditional buffer if you were after a full english! Very happy overall with our stay. Only thing I would say is be careful when booking as prices change quite quick and you may find yourself out of pocket!

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and very spacious. Style of the hotel was trendy and modern, the bathroom was clean and television / entertainment system was quite good (miracast enabled). The staff were very helpful and polite at all times. I ate in the restaurant and enjoyed an oversized, but nicely prepared burger. Complimentary drink was a nice touch. The location was great, about 3 minutes walk from the New Street station. I would be happy to recommend this for an overnight stay.

Stayed last night. Lovely room and friendly staff. Couple of whinges; Ordered room service and food was cold. 25 minutes later, still no replacement so rang to change my choice as I'd gone off the idea of curry. Manager deducted it from my bill. The other issue was a really noisy pipe that made a noise all through the night. Drove me mad. Apart from that, bed was comfy and breakfast great.

Very nice centrally located high rise hotel. Very modern iconic and distinct looking styling. The rooms are modern, clean, functional and good sized all you could ask from a hotel room and reasonably priced for the location. The central location is great so all the amenities of a town centre are all within easy walking distance. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

Rooms are very basic compared to Malmaison. We upgraded previously and the upgraded room was exactly the same as the normal room. Air conditioning has been broken on three out of the four times we have stayed recently. Breakfast is really nice and lots of choice and love the buffet arrangement to have as small or large a breakfast as you like. Service is slow at check in and staff can be a bit frosty sometimes but who would want to work the night shift. Bar is nice now its been refurbished. We have a refurbished room last stay and half the furniture was missing or it was even more basic than before. Views are fabulous!

Had building work going on at entrance — however, great hotel. Asked for a room on the lower floors and was given a room with someone requiring assistance etc. Still, the room was great. Good restaurant and bar = also good place to plug in and play on laptop if on business. Would stay again. Book early to avoid steep price.

The hotel has a great central location within easy walking distance of the centre. The staff are lovely and the rooms are really nice. The bed was super comfortable and everything was really clean. Breakfast was excellent, wide selection of hot and cold with lots of options for all tastes. Highly recommended.

Was absolutely perfect! Me and my partner stopped here for my birthday. We also got upgraded as it was my birthday :-) 100% would recommend such a lovely quiet hotel with amazing views. The staff were brilliant and welcoming, Can't wait to stay here again.

This hotel could be perfect, it's just a few minutes walk from New Street train station, it has high floors with great view, a gym on the 18th floor, the buffet breakfast is as perfect as it can be and I got a great upgrade as a CC gold. Unfortunately a few things made it loose the 5th star: the neighborhood isn't so great and I had asked for an early check-in and, while I understand it's not always possible, it would have been great to let me know. The room wasn't quite ready when I arrived at 15:20 but ended up ready after finishing the check-in so no harm. Finally, I wasn't offered any welcome gift as normally offered to CC gold so not sure this is standard at this place or they just forgot. No big deal, though.

Nice hotel, good decor. Attended for a corporate event and did find the room quite small. Restaurant was nice and quality of food was fairly good, however, choice was limited.

I have stayed in other Radisson Blu Hotels in the past and this was nowhere near the best. The hotel staff made the mistake of giving us two queen rooms instead of two twins which was initially quite awkward. The hairdryer had an awkward button meaning that you had to hold it down throughout drying your hair. The view was awful as well and they have removed the spa facility even though it is still advertised on the website. There wasn't much variety at breakfast either however, the porridge was definitely the best we have ever had. Didn't even need any sugar. In addition, the hotel staff were highly commendable.

Attended a workshop here. All the facilities were great and the food excellent. Easy to get to from the railway station. Perfect for the conference.

Attended a few meetings here recently. Flag ship hotel, almost dominating the skyline, and in an excellent location, with easy access to New Street Station, the Bullring, and, of course, the Chinese Quarter. The building looks stunning, especially when the sun is reflecting off it. At ground level it lets itself down with what I can only describe as a grubby entrance.

Good location and OK views, and the room was cozy, however room decoration was very tired and needed refurbishment. Didn't sleep well due to noisy neighbours and there are (locked) doors separating the rooms which doesn't help with the noise. Breakfast was nice and reasonable spread of food.

I stayed here the night of my wedding, and was a bit worried because I had seen some bad reviews, but I was so pleased when we got to our room! We must have been put in a recently refurbished business class room because it was amazing — looked really clean and new. Great view and we had room service the next morning which was perfect — breakfast was so nice. Check in/out was easy. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel itself is very nice architecture, beautiful with a gym with a very nice view on the last floor as well as its spa, rooms that have beautiful volumes and a staff in the listening place in the city center everything is accessible on foot (station D E New Street, Mailbox, bullring) The hassle is the lack of parking that is far from being redibitoire.

The room was fantastic, such a nice, spacious, modern design. The service was great and the all you can eat breakfast was actually really nice! The cost may be a little high but the quality of the hotel is apparent. It is true that you get what you pay for.

The Radisson Blu is located in a fantastic area, about a ten minute walk from all of Birmingham's best night spots. The view from our room on the 15th floor was incredible with the new Grand Central building taking centre stage. Unfortunately that was probably the best thing about the rather basic room we stayed in. The room itself was decorated well and provided a suitable place to sleep, but for something carrying the Radisson name I was left unimpressed. Of the two single beds that were stuck togther, one was sagging rather badly. Upon arrival you were also only given a single, rather worn out pillow without any others to be found. The bathroom had fixtures loose and hanging off the wall and the shower really wasn't that great. Further to that the TV was quite small and dated, proving quite difficult to actually watch from the bed. The saving grace (and the main reason this got an additional star) was the included breakfast. There was a fantastic menu as well as a self serve buffet, offering the standard cooked breakfast to accompany any pastries, fruit and cooked meats and cheeses. Overall the Radisson Blu is a lovely hotel, if not a little uninspiring. You're left feeling that the price is mainly for the location with Birmingham Grand Central and the Bullring a 5 minute walk, Broad St and the Mailbox within 10 minutes as well, but depending on the requirement of your visit it would certainly be worth paying the extra to stay here.

The staff were rude at every opportunity. The bedroom we were first given smelt of smoke. Once we moved we were given a room with a view of a brick wall. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant but sent both of our main meals back as they were tasteless. When we complained to the waiter he said that the hotel hadn't had a refurbishment for 10 years and things weren't as good as they should be! Quite how this impacted the taste of the food I couldn't figure out. We asked for two extra pillows (only 1 each in the room) which took well over an hour to arrive and we had to chase in person at reception in the end to be told they were trying to find some for us! Most hotels have spare pillows in the room as standard, even much cheaper ones. Even when we checked out at reception and said we hadn't had a good stay they weren't interested and only vaguely apologized. We won't be staying again and recommend that anyone else find any where else to stay.

This felt like it should be better for the money. The rooms to bedside lights didn't work (we flicked every switch). Mini bar prices were extortionate. The carpet was shabby around the edges. Bed was comfy but the duvet wasn't big enough for the bed! We had a drink in the bar at the end of the night. Chairs are shabby and dirty looking. One single malibu, one single cpt Morgan and a shared bottle of coke was about £13-14! Breakfast area looked nice, food was nice but just luke warm!? There was a menu on the table for things to be cooked but nobody asked if you wanted any of them. The gym… Well, it's small as advertised, but over half the room is taken up by an un attended reception desk and treatment rooms with nobody in. The air con was broken and stuck on heat which made it unbearable after ten minutes. The dust under and around the machines was terrible. It can't have been cleaned for weeks. So much potential with location but overpriced for the standards kept inside. I gave it OK because of location and the look of the building.

Good points: A well situated hotel next to New Street Station, car park and restaurants with some great views. Haven't eaten or used gymnasium but breakfast was fab. Staff was friendly and professional, rooms clean and spacious (got upgraded to business if that matters). Not so good: bathroom looked tired and generally room felt a bit forgotten about. Some sockets were not working. Hotel has a discounted rate at nearby NCP car park (£25->£15 overnight). Good but being charged for parking is a bit unusual.

Wait so many hours for a room after three in the afternoon and not taking into account your special request is a mistake of attention to the client.

You get what you pay for. Friendly staff, OK rooms, view at the back of hotel horrible (ask for city view room), room didn't heat up despite heating being on all night. 5* for location and that's it.

Abosolutely disgraced by the whole experience! We booked the non-smoking room in hotel in advance and paid for it before we got there too. But when we arrived to check in, they told us they dont have a non-smoking room available and that if it was ok to have a smoking room instead. Then we were told to wait around 40 minutes before they could clean and find a room for us. Finally we got allocated a room and then when we got to the room the sitting furniture was dirty and there was some weird smell in the room too. We then were trying to contact room service and after 7 calls they picked up and answered quite briefly and there was no such thing as customer service! I have been to another Radisson Blu where I wanted to connect my HDMI cable to the TV and couldnt access it so the room service team sent me an engineer who brought up a spare small TV for me. Here when I called for any in room dvd player they checked and within 2 mins told us "sorry theres nothing we can do" and put the phone down. The staff seemed quite untrained for how to approach and talk to guests! Next morning we went for breakfast and there were very limited options to choose for a vegetarian which I understand but the taste of the food wasnt too good either compared to the other Radisson Blu's I have been to before. Overall I would not reccommend you wasting your money to stay here as there is nothing worth staying here for apart for a half decent view if you are on the top floors.

Nice sized, adequately equipped room, that was quiet and comfortable (I slept like a baby). Speedy, free Wi-Fi too. The couple of items of gilt furniture were a bit incongruous with the rest of the decor though, and the fridge was a bit warm (maybe not working).

Nice clean hotel. Friendly staff, just disappointing the bar shut around midnight on a Thursday.

It's ok. The view is amazing the staff are very friendly but the rooms aren't great. We had to call the cleaner back because there was dust everywhere. The bathroom door handle was broken and there was chipped plaster from the walls. Not the nicest of rooms, especially when they charge you a £50 deposit on the room in case you trash it.

Very good hotel, ideal for our day in Birmingham. Central to everywhere we wanted to go. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. Very enjoyable stay.

Excellent location in center of Birmingham, it only takes 3 mins walk from new st. Station to hotel. Impressive modern design; Nice bar; Friendly staff. I can enjoy a magnificent view of Birmingham skyline from my room. Highly recommended.

Premium hotel? Extremely disappointed in the quality of the room I have been allocated. Reminds me of Hotels in the nineties. Maybe I had a bad room, don't care, this should not be standard of rooms today. Badly stained carpets, aged interior. A nice bed is not the be all and end all to a good hotel experience! Out of ten I rate this a five, need to match the marketing it gives as a premium hotel. Sorely disappointed.

I know in that part of England is the one direction and many greetings to the one direction.

(+) Totally pleased with everything about that hotel: the convenient location 5 min away from the shops/station/nightlife, the nice design of the rooms, the time at which breakfast ends (12:00 on Sundays! Yay! ), the very friendly and helpful staff,. Definitely my home in Birmingham :) (0) A misunderstanding on my final bill (charging for things I thought were included but were apparently not) was settled within a a few days in the form of a refund of the extras. (-) There was a persistent unpleasant smell in the bathroom, but I can only assume it will be taken care of very soon.
