Amazing service! great food.

I have no idea how this hotel is 4* it is filthy, grimy taps, shower hanging off the wall, dirty nappy thrown out of the window. Some kind of insect powder all over the carpets. Crusty skin on the beds. Honestly it needs new staff to bring it up to standards. It need environmental health sending in. The food is embarrassing to say the least, my children had 4 slices of overcooked smart price pizza no side no fries £6 each! And not to mention the food takes years to actually come out. Adult meals were no better proper cheap ingredients and was charged £15+ no choice of draught beers/lager unless you like Stella. The amount of peoples tables the restaurant staff messed up whilst we were there was shocking, they just wander around looking disinterested and lost. Please don’t bother, it’s absolutely vile.

Dirty, Dusty, unkempt. Utterly disappointed for the money spent. Moved rooms which was better but still thick with dust and cobwebs. Surprised as I’d believed this hotel to be high end. Sat in the garden at 22:30 dirty tables, plates and condiments. Staff not doing anything in bar area!

Hotel needs a clean from top to bottom. Changing rooms at the spa, bathroom in the rooms, Stair bannisters and car parks, wine glasses. Incompetent staff who have no idea of customer service, I cleaned my own wine glass as the 2 bar tenders, couldn’t find a clean one. Never entered their heads to clean the glasses themselves. The toaster toasted one side only asked the staff if they knew that was what it was doing and could they fix it. No sorry it’s always been that way, was the answer pmsl. Bar shut early even though we where still drinking in the private dining room, no night porter service. Walls of the rooms are paper thin you can hear everything 😝 Plus side the evening meal was pleasant. I forgot to mention the under cooked sausages at breakfast. Gain some compensation with around £50 deducted from the bill. The problem I have is I really don’t want to go through the aggravation of complaining.

Definitely not 4star service rude staff noise rooms no consideration for guests happy to take ££££ wouldn't recommend this hotel over priced and not 4star the list goes on …

Fantastic hotel, we have just got home from a lovely relaxing weekend at Sketchley, staff are very professional and helpful, the room was awesome, the food was wonderful, the pool and facilities brilliant, lovely and clean, can't wait to go back.

Cheap and cheerful, lovely pool and spa, delicious food and nice food and decorated bar, will come back!

Came here for a weekend spa break, and it was lovely. The spa facilities could do with an update, and the pool wasn’t as big and we had anticipated. But nevertheless it was lovely, rooms were nice and the dinners were great. They suggest booking in advance for dinner, and when we booked we decided to book for the whole weekend and even then they had very few slots. But the people were nice and polite and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing.

Sketchley grange could improve by having some respect for their customers. The worst service I've experienced in any hotel in the UK, the manager clearly needs changing and fast.

Terrible experience. I don’t recommend if you want a peaceful place to rest. We chose this hotel, because of the swimming pool for our children, but it wasn’t child friendly. We discovered in our arrival that the children could use the swimming pool 45 minutes in the morning, same time of breakfast and 45 minutes in the afternoon, and it needs to be booked. In the morning when we went to book the swimming pool slot, they said that the boiler was broken, so the water was cold — no swimming pool to enjoy at all.
On two nights of stay, we couldn’t sleep because of drunk people messing around, laughing, screaming and knocking our room door by mistake in the middle of night — UNBELIEVABLE.
Not being enough, in our second day, when we went to have breakfast they didn’t allow us because they said it wasn’t paid. We went to the reception to solve this mistake, waiting 30 minutes for the manager. At the end, what were supposed to be a relaxing time, went to be a nightmare stressing my husband and I in our celebration for our wedding anniversary. Waiting for them to contact us to make a refund.

Had a spa day for two, which we’d been looking forward to for ages, felt very disappointed as the spa facilities were very poor and not enough space to relax. The changing rooms/area were not clean, litter on the floor, toilets filthy, flush broken. The pool area was quite small and there was only a small amount of loungers which all looked un clean and un cared for. The jacuzzi temperature was far too hot, with rust and what appeared to be sand or dirt around and in it.
The staff were lovely and we both enjoyed our massages and light lunch. But compared to other spa days I have had this one was definitely not worth the money.

Booked through Secret Escapes for our 2 night break and can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed every minute!
Hotel is lovely, spotlessly clean and has a really friendly atmosphere, all of the staff were all very helpful throughout our stay.
Our contemporary junior suite was spacious and perfect for me as I have very reduced mobility, food in the restaurant was lovely, very well presented and always hot.
Would like to say a huge thankyou to Mandy in the Roman Health Spa who went above and beyond and gave my husband a guided tour and answered questions on accessibility for me with a mobility scooter! We had a very enjoyable time and I was able to relax and use the spa facilities with no stress!
We will certainly be visiting again soon and felt very relaxed when we left!

Very welcoming, staff are great especially the lady on front reception who's been there a while. Very clean, rooms are fantastic, food really good. Leisure facilities are brilliant. Have been here several times and would recommend.

Having just returned home in Scotland after a two night stay following a wedding. It was lovely! The hotel really ‘pulled out the stops’ to create a wonderful atmosphere for a truly special occasion. However, there is one person — above all others — who merits special praise.
‘Sally’ (sorry we don’t know your surname) who oversaw operations in the restaurant and dining room was exceptional. No doubt after already putting in a long, hard shift (for which I doubt your staff are truly appreciated or adequately remunerated) Sally always has a smile for us and was most attentive in making sure we were well looked after in the restaurant. It really is very rare that you find an individual of Sally’s qualities. After many years as a commercial lawyer for a retail bank, I know what the epitome of excellent customer service looks like. It looks like Sally. I should know: we strived to achieve it without fully succeeding in our company. It would be unfair not to mention the food, after praising the service. We weren’t disappointed. We had dinner in the main restaurant (after some re-arranging by Sally to fit us in after a long drive). The three-course meal was excellent. Good choice of tasty dishes, with a good wine list and exceptional value for an hotel. What we’ll miss about our stay? We’ll miss Sally. If you have an understanding of customer service and how customers should be treated you will know that Sally is worth her weight in gold.

Excellent value for money. Lovely large room as standard. Great evening Al a Carte meals. Friendly helpful staff. Will definitely go again.

It was a lovely place especially the pool area and the food was very good me my daughter went for her 40th birthday I would go again thank to the lovely staff and to kirsty hayes travel manager for booking it.

Came here for my 40th birthday with my mum and it was amazing. The rooms were very spacious and clean, bathroom was very big and had a very powerful shower. We had treatment at the spa which was wonderful and relaxing. We also used the pool facilities which was wonderful and clean. We had a 3 course meal book for the evening which was delicious and because we was so full with the first two courses they let us order pudding to our rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful and with the current situation going on with covid we felt safe. Would love to come back again.

Would 100% reccomend this place… very friendly & helpful staff, our room was upgraded to a suite at no extra cost, massive room with lovely comfortable 4 poster bed and double shower. The food was unbelievable and the treatments & spa facilities were amazing too. Excellent value for money.

It really ISNT luxury accommodation. It needs money spending on it to redecorate it. The hand dryers didn’t work. There were holes in the ceilings and walls. The handrail in to the pool was loose, as were the toilets seats in the changing room toilets.
The ‘light lunch’ is a bit small, it could do with some fresh fruit or a scone with the soup and sandwiches that would be fine.
The treatments were good though.

Lovely looking hotel with poor customer service. Asked for early access to rooms to decorate for friends birthday was told management dont allocate rooms until check in so unable to go in early, another lady comes to check in early and is allowed to go straight into room, then we are given keys to room and asked for a £50 deposit on room even though rooms and spa treatments were paid in full. The other people in our party came to check in but was not asked for a deposit on their room. We went into breakfast the next morning at 9am and asked the lady behind the bar If we could order some diet coke she said yes so we found our seat then went back to order to be told rudely by management that theres no orders before 11.30 even though the lady stated we could order. The businessman next to us asked for crossiants and he was given a basket full and told he could have as many as he wished as if there was plenty so we asked for some to be told theres none. We went back to the room to relax to find cleaners in our room which had disposed of drinks and food and stripped the bedding and unplugged all chargers when questioned why they were in the room at 10am when checkout was 11 and that we did not put sign on the door they stated they thought we had already checked out. I think judgements were made based on us being young and casually dressed but if we are paying to stay at your hotel we expect the same level of customer service as everyone else.

Attention to detail and very helpful staff.

Where do I start? We had our wedding on the 27th April at this amazing venue and It was perfect. The Coppice and Grove suites were great for our amount of guests and were exactly what we were looking for. The team were great in the planning and day. Sammy listened to everything we wanted and worked with us really well! Plus all the facilities were great :)

What a beautiful place this is ❤️Sam is the most helpful, kind and lovely staff member I have met for a long time!
Steven Burton on the other hand is rude and thinks he above everyone else. He was rude to me in front of 3 other guests! Not acceptable The food at breakfast is wonderful but was made to feel rushed as it finishes at half 9! And we were down for 9 and they wasn’t happy making more food for us when we asked. The rooms are outstanding and so are the house keepers.

Reception staff were very accommodating and friendly. Spa was lovely. Will definitely stay again.

The reception staff were great, efficient and welcoming. The room didn’t disappoint either.
Going to the garden restaurant was a whole new experience. The waiters and waitresses were very accommodating without being intrusive. A fine skill set.

Great room, great food, great service.

My husband and I got married here on the 26th July this year. From the start, our whole experience of Sketchley was excellent. Sammy, the wedding co-ordinator, was fantastic. She handled our booking and was only an email away from answering any questions we had. We were lucky enough to set up the evening before, which is where we met Richard, the master of ceremonies. Richard was extremely helpful and gave us advice and support. This was all provided with our best interests at heart and without being at all pushy.
The wedding team co-ordinated well with our suppliers, organising setting up, dropping off/picking up without us having to stress.
On our wedding day, the hotel couldn't have done enough for us. The day ran so smoothly all thanks to the hard work of all the staff. The food and service was of a high quality. The presentation of dinner as well as the generous portion size was commented on by our guests. We had a few guests with dietary requirements which were all accomodated.
At the end of the evening, our decorations were packed away by the hotel and placed in one of their conference rooms for us to collect the following day.
We truly had the most perfect day and couldn't wish for anything better.

Great rooms, good food but this review has to go out to hayley the bar manager. Along with her staff she made sure we had the best time here.

We booked a mini break, first night was great. Second night a huge disappointment! You had a wedding and our room was right next to the party room! It was like the party was in our room! With 4 young children we could not sleep so had to up & leave at 10pm!
We had asked to change rooms but said we couldn’t. On checking out we where told families aren’t normally put in that room! So why did you? We had booked months in advance!
Please explain to my 4 upset children why?
We lost out on our entire pre booked activities the next day too as we’ve had to travel miles!
Not happy at all!

Nice atmosphere and great staff with amazing breakfast.

Lovely room with huge bath and a huge shower. Friendly staff, great restaurant and a fantastic dost. What's not to like?

Can't say too much about the hotel itself as our visit was to an event that was being held there selling off Patio Furniture. We did however have breakfast in the restaurant while we were there. If the breakfast is anything to go by the standard of food appears to be very good and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and appeared very busy on the day we attended which is always a good sign.

Friendly people, really good food in the restaurant, the breakfast was particularly well stocked and varied. We had a junior suite, which was both massive and exceptionally clean. Pool, sauna and steam room were used daily and worth the visit. The gym is functional but arguably outdated, basic CV equipment with some money needing spent on resistance equipment. Not a massive issue by any stretch but Wi-Fi was intermittent and not any quicker than 4/3G. This was more of a personal annoyance as we were trying to search the local area and couldn’t due to poor signal, not the end of the world. Would come again.

Great hotel, friendly staff, plenty of free parking and the menu choices were excellent. Rooms were very spacious and quiet. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had a big bath and separate shower which made it easy to relax. The bar and restaurant had outside seating as well, which meant that I could make the most of the great weather and eat outside. Overall a great base for my training course just up the road. Thanks for a great time.

We've only been to the 'Roman Baths' but the kids really enjoyed it! Upon entering, we've received the biggest bath towels I've ever seen. The changing rooms could do with a bit of refurb but they are clean and have hairdryers and even a special spin to dry the swimming gear. The pool is clean and well maintained and there's a jacuzzi too. I haven't tried the steam room and the sauna but can't wait to go back and relax in there.

Stayed as overnight guest for a wedding. Room was a suite. Very nice, spacious, very comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom with large bath and separate shower unit. Room 327. Did smell a little bit of tobacco smoke though. Wedding held in function room which was very well dressed for the occasion. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Used gym facilities which were in excellent condition, lots of equipment to choose from for a great workout. Tasty breakfast which was buffet with a great choice but fruit juices had been watered down. Overall we have a great experience here and look forward to visiting again. Well don.

Very smart and tidy place. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and very spacious. The outside areas were quiet and relaxing. I would stay there again if we were in the area.

Been for food on two occasions and both times left disappointed. The food is probably what you'd expect, however the service despite their best efforts is very slow. Both times drinks weren't offered until requested. Overall, the high prices don't reflect the quality of service on offer.

All the makings of a great hotel but lacking in a lot of aspects. I will say it was clean and the room was very spacious. Plenty of parking. However, I found the staff on reception cold and not very convincing. I reported a problem with the shower in our room (it was broken and nearly impossible to turn off) and the man on reception barely lifted his head and looked at me. The food in the bar was vile. Myself and my husband both sent ours back. We were refunded. The swimming pool was clean but again the staff were abrupt, didn’t even show us around and when we asked could we charge items to our room, that cannot be done. All in all this hotel could be something great in the future with the right staff training/ownership but for now it really is not.

Beautiful location VIP rooms are very spacious with lovely deco. Only downside was shower in room was not working and SPA area is a bit small. Food was delicious and staff were very helpful.

Hotel was being worked on so not a very good experience understandably. Had a meal the first night, quite late on which is probably why the food came out too quickly and was obviously taken straight from a hot plate & dry as a bone. Decided to eat out the next night but to be fare the breakfast was good & plentiful. I've stayed here before & had a great experience… I just hope that with the hotel expansion, the rest of the standards aren't negatively impacted.

Had a really good day at Sketchley Grange, we we're there for my daughter's wedding reception. Then on the Monday after checking my bank transactions they had charged me twice for a bar tab — one transaction taken from my account and another pending (the amount taken from my balance) hence showing my account short. It took 8 days for this to be sorted and many phone calls. It's not the banks fault it's the hotel charging twice. So be careful if you get a bar tab — CHECK your account. Also last year my son in law booked a room for this wedding and he had £500 taken from his account which almost left him with no money. Many days again to sort. be careful.

Very disappointing especially 4 stars hotel, the flush in our room was not working call up for the receptionist no one bothered to fix it. Waiting 4 hour for us to finish the whole dinner. The meat inside my husband burger is destroyed. It is suppose to be one whole meat but he received 3 crumbling pieces. Asking to change for another portion but the waiter said ‘NO’ the meat was meant to be destroyed from the supplier. Awful experience, never come back to this hotel. But the swimming pool and the staff was very nice.

Came to this hotel for a day meeting, had lunch in the Bar. Really good and friendly service and great food. Meeting rooms are well appointed, although coffee breakout area was a bit messy when we arrived to the meeting room. Excellent leisure facilities, must be great for a relaxing weekend break.

Very disappointing overall! Some areas need attention and refurbishment. Only few facilities available. Young staff that seem to be running it. Had a massage but pretty average and the staff member was yawning! Pool quite cool and very strong chlorine smell. Steam room very shabby and peeling paint. Complimentary drinks was a cup of tea and included lunch was a dry tuna sandwich with water and a few crisps. Despite having until 6pm we left at 2.30pm. Won't be returning sorry.

Great staff, great spa was a lovely big room and amazing shower! Only downfall was the bed being so uncomfortable. I don't know if this is because it was new of if it was extra firm! Anyways the rest of the stay was very enjoyable :)

We stayed here on a two day groupon with our 2 golden retrievers. We found our room spacious. It is a bit of a maze but the rooms a adequately signposted. The room had been recently decorated and had a very comfortable super King bed. The large en suite had a big bath and a separate shower. The heating was fully adjustable. The breakfast was fully self service with a huge choice of very nice quality options. We found it excellent value for money and I would definitely go again.

Was meant to stay for 10 nights. Left half way through as the cleaning of the rooms was utter shambles. They just fold up and hang the same towel back up. They do not vacuum or empty bins. Moreover one of the lady receptionists was extremely rude. Would not even move from her desk which was away from the counter to come and talk to you. Outright condescending and judgmental and needs to be sacked. Hats off to Sam and the bald receptionist supervisor and Tina — what an asset to the company. Having raised my concerns with the manager I wonder what they will have to say and what they will do to win my custom back. They lost over £1500 business by my family and I walking out. The swimming pool facilities were great however changing room and shower facilities were fairly dirty.

Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. The amenities were okay nothing to write home about. The rooms don't have enough ventilation so when the heating is turned on it becomes very stuffy very quickly. Only wanted to take the chill off the room. We were given a view of the carpark. I was woken at 5am by the person in the room above. The shower had to be turned very slowly in order to turn off. The food was very nice.

We booked the Double room (which is the cheapest) and were pleasantly surprised with how big it was. Staff couldn't be more helpful and assisted us with dietary requirements. The Spa was lovely and facilities were nice. Breakfast got busy at peak times but staff didn't forget the small things and were really trying their best. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Attended here on a last minute chance to attend an event being held. The hotel was very clean, huge room, nicely furnished very comfy bed and nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and polite and provided good service. Breakfast was great full English. Did not use spa facilities due to lack off time but would definitely recommend this hotel.

Had Christmas works do there (in the not so posh room) the ambience was very relaxed. DJ was good and a good time was had by all! The only criticism was that the service was by young teenagers. They were so petrified at making a mistake! It needed to be more relaxed. This was no fault of the waiters/waitresses more the "senior" staff.

I held a function here for over 100 guests. The service from the staff here was tremendous. Every single detail was taken care of and their hospitality was fantastic. The hotel itself is very well presented and serves great food and drink! The rooms were very nice and the added bonus of spa access for staying was the icing on the cake. Wonderful facility and very much look forward to more time in their once it is updated.

Nice clean building but whilst some of the staff were helpful most were quite rude and very un-caring. Food was atrocious and most of it was left from our evening at the hall. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Booked this for my girlfriend birthday and we was not disappointed. The room was stunning, the spa amazing and dinner at the hotel was simply beautiful. Fantastic service we will return a great place to chill out with the Mrs.

Lovely atmosphere and welcome feeling from all staff members whilst visiting for a wedding. Stayed over night and was impressed with the rooms, both with general size and facilities provided. We got our money's worth with breakfast and would recommend this hotel and spa to friends and family. Everything was worth the money and look forward to going back when we can. We look forward to using the swimming facilities next time.

Not my favourite — asked four times for my window lock to be removed but nothing done so baked in a room with little air. Corridors are all lit with strip lighting and feel like a supermarket aisle. Little personality and in strange location next to an industrial estate — there are more imaginative options out there.

Clean, spacious rooms with plenty of storage space. Spa facilities were not busy on a Thursday night. A choice of fresh bread rolls would be nice however only toasting bread was available during breakfast buffet. Quiet area only a few minutes drive to local restaurants and supermarkets.

Good value. Rooms decent, spacious. Bathrooms too. Power shower'd've been nice. Breakfast was a solid ✅. Staff were on point too. Successful competitive incentive maybe? One nearly poisoned us with industrial detergent. I've removed a star for that. Would recommend though.

Always love coming here! With my daughter being a wheelchair user we have experienced so much stress in what should be an enjoyable break. Not here! For us to return somewhere, it has to be good! The spa treatments aren't nearly the best we've had but they'll do. It's a beautiful place set in lovely grounds. I'd have my wedding there if I ever had one but don't like that guests of hotel going to their cars can walk through the reception! I know because I felt terrible walking through someone else's, but to go all the way around the outside of the hotel would be too hard due to mobility issues of me and my daughter… But it's lovely and we'll always go back.

Disappointing! We couldn't have the treatments advertised on the website as they no longer do them. We were not given robes — We were told it's not part of our package so we asked to hire them and were told they had none spare!. The reception manager on Friday 25th of August was not at all helpful and not interested in our complaint. The spa area… changing rooms dirty and in desperate need of decoration. We couldn't get a lounger around the pool-There were only about 15 and people just left their towels on them so others couldn't use them even when they were not there. My room was lovely though I didn't appreciate my ripped bedding or the stains under the sheets. There was a wedding on and the noise went on until 12.30am-We came here to relax we should have been warned about this. Also to have someone play knock a door run on us at 12.30am wasn't fun. I rang reception they told me it was children and they'd had other complaints but didn't even come up to the corridor to see what was going on. The hotel needs maintenance — from broken windows to wires showing in the lift and holes in the changing room ceilings. I have taken photos which I will put in the comments below. Breakfast was lovely however it wasn't hot as you queue for your food then have to queue to do your toast. We came here for a relaxing get away but it just felt like a hotel with a pool. I would not class it as a spa.

My partner and I actually adore this hotel. We've been here three times and every time has been so relaxing. The access to the hotel's spa is free for the guests and it is very well presented. The staff are lovely and will do whatever they can to make your stay pleasant. We've returned here because the service is always good quality and they always provide a relaxing experience which we cannot fault. Also very good value for money, if you search around on sites, such as secret escapes. I'm sure we will be returning soon!

Lovely hotel and spa. Room was bigger that expected. With hair dryer and ironing facilities. Bath and shower were brilliant. Breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from. Staff very helpful. Cannot fault this hotel would defiantly recommend it.

I tried to contact the grange before we arrived to sort out dietary requirements. As gluten and lactose free. However there was no answer at the kitchen.
On arrival the set meal menu did not offer a meal I could eat. The reception manager was very helpful and booked us in to barnicles — which was lovely.
The only thing they could offer was gluten free bread. Nothing extra for breakfast — cereal or yogurts.
The room was spacious and modern — could have been a bit cleaner.
The maid came into our room in the afternoon — we were asleep.
The spa had children jumping in and out of the pool. Staff did not say anything or do anything — dispite the signs! Spa changing rooms disgusting. Dirty, tiles falling of the rotten plaster. Spa staff rude and unhelpful.

Nice hotel. We enjoyed a 2 night stay in a contemporary junior suite with bed, breakfast and dinner. The room and bathroom were very spacious and stylish although some of the furniture was damaged. We had a nice big shower cubicle and a lovely double ended bath. The spa facilities were better than expected based on reviews I'd read. We found everything to be clean and not too busy. The pool was lovely and warm and large for a hotel. We also used the Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room and the loungers by the pool and all were relaxing and enjoyable. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant other than the battered fish that still had skin on under the batter. All in all we had a lovely weekend and we would recommend the hotel to others.

We arrived and immediately the signs were great. Very helpful reception staff. Especially John the reception manager, he deserves the special employee of the month car parking space. He is a credit to the hotel. He upgraded our room to a suite as he thought our son was too tall for the sofa bed. The new room was outstanding and this was very unexpected. We unpacked and went to the leisure area again this didn't disappoint beautifully clean and well equipped and really relaxing. We were not book for evening meal but we asked John could we have a table. John went and spoke to the restaurant manager. The restaurant manager gestured that the place may be booked however there seemed to be plenty of tables. We did get a table and the meal was lovely but I don't like to be handed the bill and stood over while we sort out the money and to then be asked did we want change. If the truth was known we would have left a larger tip than we did but because we were stood over we paid and retired to our rooms. Breakfast again was lovely but the restaurant staff were too quick to whip a plate out from under you assuming you had finished.

Lovely big beds & good breakfast. Rooms lack some of the basics such as bottled water. Our room had no phone & the safe didn't work. No bath mats even though instructions requested putting one in the bath before getting in!

My friends married at this venue. It's a nice, peaceful and quiet location and the building is also pretty. The staff were great and very attentive. From what I saw of the bedrooms, they look to be in a good condition, and I suspect it is a nice hotel to spend the night in.

Lovely stay, had a problem with the food but, the manager was very quick to resolve the issue. Very good customer service. Food tasted great. Very happy with our stay. I would gladly come back. A++++++

I stopped here on Saturday night to attend a friends wedding in a near by village. I must say the hotel and staff were exceptional. The wedding I was attending started at 2pm and with a normal check in time of 2pm I was going to struggle to find somewhere to get ready. Thanks to the kind efforts of the staff they were able to not only get our room ready 2 hours earlier, they also gave us a suit when we were only due to have a standard double room. The lady on reception went out of her way to keep us informed on the status of the room and the bar staff even asked the kitchen to make us lunch despite them not officially taking orders for another half hour. All in all they exceeded my expectations and despite there being back to back weddings at the hotel, I still feel like they gave us as other guests a first class service. The room and grounds where beautiful and I'd love to stop again in future. You really do understand the importance of customer service. Hats off to you all!

Nice and helpful staff. Fantastic room's quality more than expected, but some broken bulbs in lamps and toilet handle. Maybe confusing labyrinth of corridors. I love swimming pool and steam and sauna rooms, bobbling jacuzzi. Good meal, lots of to choose for breakfast. Huge car park. Will return without hesitation.

To be honest, we were dissapointed with this hotel. When we first arrived we couldn't find our room despite several directions so had to back to reception and ask them to show us to our room. The place is like a maze and the signage is poor in the corridors. Room numbering is complicated with numbers starting with 2 on the 1st floor. The room was OK but my only complaint that there were only enough to toiletries for one person for one shower. The spa was lovely but full of spa day women taking up all the room in the jacuzzi so no one else could get in there. The breakfast was disappointing in that they only provide sliced bread and no fresh bread. Wouldn't go back tbh.

I really enjoyed my stay at sketchley grand hotel. The hotel is well signposted and very easy to find considering it is fairly secluded. We received a warm welcome on arrival with simple directions to both our room and the spa facilities. The stay was in a contemporary junior suite which I was impressed with when I entered the room. Very large room, exceedingly clean and we'll kept with modern tasteful furniture. The bed was comfy and I was more than happy to leave valuables in the digital safe. I was also impressed to see a decent iron and ironing board easily accessible in the wardrobe. The bathroom was spacious, very clean, modern and stylish. Everything in the bathroom functioned perfectly. The only 2 complaints I have about the bathroom are the lack of a toilet brush and the toilet paper itself which I would not like to have to spend a full week using. Aside from this I had no issues or complaints. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast at the hotel but this was also another good point. All breakfast items were cooked/presented well and all plates and cutlery were very clean and we'll laid out. As a coffee lover I was glad to find out that fresh brewed coffee was available on request and was quite tasty. The spa facilities were clean and we'll kept with only 2 small bits of damage clear signposted next to the pool (soon to be repaired) the towels given out were of good quality and were very clean.

Very good, well organised day. Was a bridesmaid at a wedding there. Great event, good facilities, bar prices as expected. Breakfast was yummy, beds were comfy, rooms well positioned and well decorated.

Stayed one night as a couple in a normal room — very impressed with king size bed and bedroom furnishings. The bath was a decent size and having a separate shower cubicle was convenient. Although it took some time to come the food at dinner was excellent. The hotel as a whole had a modern yet warm feel to it and I couldn't fault how well maintained it seemed.

The hotel and staff was very nice. Breakfast was good however the evening meal main course was a bit below standard. But overall a nice weekend. Room was lovely although the hot air blower was blowing cold air which we had to ring reception about.

The hotel was really pleasant and a lovely location for a weekend away. The only thing that let the hotel down were the reception staff. They were incredibly sniffy and rather unhelpful. Instead of being briefed at check in of where to go to get to the spa or the restaurant we were simply handed our key card and left to guess. It is a lovely old fashioned building and not the easiest to navigate. A friendly talk, map or similar in the room would be helpful. We found the same level of service in the spa. The staff on reception there looked like they really didn't want to be there and our arrival seemed like it was putting them out. It made our stay rather uncomfortable but not terrible. The Staff in the bar and restaurant were really lovely and made us feel welcomed and at ease. On check out there was one receptionist who was on a phone call. She made no acknowledgement of us standing there and we had to wait for over 10 minutes to check out and settle our bill. I would have expected at least a couple of staff on reception at this time as it was close to latest check out time.

The hotel was lovely however we booked through a woucher offer and booked the evening meal with a free bottle of wine when booking the room as it was my birthday so we booked a table for 8pm. When arriving at the hotel they asked if we would like an evening meal we advised we had booked but they said they had nothing in the diary so again we booked for 7:30pm this time, when entering in the diary he wrote woucher at the side. On entering the restaurant that night they looked in the book and said woucher. Asked if we would like wine I advised that we got a bottle free she said oh yeah woucher I will take your glasses then and she walked away with the glasses. When ordering I asked again about the wine the girl said yes you get a bottle and took our order and left. When collecting our plates after the starters I asked again and this time got a blank look. After finishing our main I asked again when we would get the wine to be told well depends what you want rise or white I replied white and was told right I'll get it along with the dessert menu. I finally got the wine 15 minutes later with the dessert menu for her to then take the lid from the bottle and leave with it. I really felt that we were treat poorly because we had booked through woucher but if that's the case then they shouldn't offer the deal. The menu also had a very small selection to choose from.

I would describe this hotel with leisure facilities rather than spa but what we experienced was very nice and clean. Our room looked like it was recently refurbished and it was a lovely large room with a nice comfortable large bed. We had an evening meal and breakfast both of which were excellent. Drinks were a little over priced. I would recommend this hotel and use it again if in the area.

Having stayed several times at Sketchley we have always found the staff to be attentive, the rooms (contemporary suite) to be very well appointed, large and comfy. The spa is very nice with a good pool, we have always enjoyed our stays. Cannot comment on the restaurant as we generally eat out at other local restaurants (Rossini's & Dog and Hedgehog which we would highly recommend)

Can't comment on the facilities as the booking process was such a sham. Called the hotel and was put through to the spa team to book a spa day. Spa days not their area of expertise apparently and they give me a number for the beauty team. When I called I was on hold for so long that I gave up and called the hotel again. Hadn't finished my sentence when I was put through to reservations, they tell me the whole team are out and will be back in 5 (can't see any reason why this should happen) I ask if I'm actually going to speak to the right person, they finally ask what I'm trying to book. Get another phone number and low and behold… No answer. Infuriating Spent a lot of time looking into where I wanted to take my friend for her birthday. What a waste of time.

Lovely relaxing stay — unfortunately we were charged double for breakfast and after 3 attempts to speak to somebody about a refund still no contact. It is a lovely peaceful place but be warned CHECK your bill carefully — my husband didn't and it meant the weekend cost an extra £60!

Bit of a shambolic start with only 1 of 2 rooms being booked. They made up for it with an upgrade. I would say the rooms are stylish but have lost function. Bathroom freebies could be better. Breakfast OK but the waiting staff all seemed to be away with the fairies. Had dinner in the bar which was excellent. Tasty and good quality. But nearly £6 for a glass of wine. Really?

The Conference facilities here are excellent, the food provided at breaks were excellent and the staff met all of the requests even at short notice.

The spa was unorganised and not to 4☆standard (ignorant staff and poorly educated masseuse) poor restaurant (felt like a feeding hall) limited menu with VERY uncomfortable chairs. Drove 2 hours and spent hundreds on a quality spa break and heathrow hotels do better…! (5min drive for me. ) My advise… do not waste your time or money. Me and my husband had a VERY poor experience.

We booked to stay here as part of a family wedding. We then read reviews on a number of sites, some of which were very uncomplimentary and scathing. This caused us some concern, but we needn't have worried. All the staff we encountered were very polite and professional. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. The food was excellent. If we need accommodation in this area again we will certainly try here first.

My husband, myself and our young grandaughter stayed at the hotel for the weekend, the room was beautiful, the pool was a big hit, everywhere was very clean. Our only let down was the food and service in the bar area, the staff were slow and rude, the food was overpriced and awful, such a shame.

Stayed in a modern contemporary jr suit, which was huge and nicely decorated, could have done with more tea and coffee supply's and better loo roll single ply is not very good when paying £140 for a room, the spa was ok but the pool and hot tub were very heavily chlorinated not pleasant. Breakfast was ok not the best I've had but Staff were friendly.

Went for my partners birthday 2nd july for 1nt. Lift to our floor was out of order. Went to the spa was told there wasnt any dry towels ready,, we had to wait for them. Booked a evening meal in resterant an it was nothing more than reheated food. It was shocking. I did speak with some lady bout all these problems. She wrote it all down an took my email an telephone number an said someone would be in contact with me. AS this really spoilt the birthday. An I was sorry i, d booked it. But nobody has had the respect to even get in touch,,, about all any of these things. They clearly dont care about there customers. When I stayed before it was a really nice hotel. But its not anymore.

The room I thought was nice and big with a super king bed, T. V with sky sports :) and the bathroom was also nice and big. The room was a little cold for my wife, apart from that it was nice. The spa wasn’t that good, it was more of a health club spa and to say they have spa packages on their website it’s a bit misleading. The restaurant 52 was ok, food was good for the price. The only problem was it took a long time for drinks! Overall would I go back, no. For £59 on Amazon Local, yes. For around the prices on the website, I don’t think so.

The newer annex rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant 52° had poor service on this particular night and the food is not the best. Convenience over choice.

Stayed here following a wedding reception 29th Sept. The room was fine but very warm and even with the window open still too hot. Had to ask for hairdryer and T. V remote as we couldn't find one in the room, toilet paper single ply. Think they could afford to use better. My main complaint was the breakfast which seemed a shambolic affaire. The hotel was full I admit but queuing for 15 minutes for our hot food and waiting for tea and coffee, when all they needed to do was leave pots on the table. We had to ask for salt and pepper and sugar as there was none in the dining room waited so long for toast that we gave up. The breakfast itself was cheap, nasty, and very greasy. I sent the hotel my complaint and didn't even get a reply, so I can only assume they don't even care. What a pity.
