Review of Sketchley Grange Hotel 4*

The hotel was lovely however we booked through a woucher offer and booked the evening meal with a free bottle of wine when booking the room as it was my birthday so we booked a table for 8pm. When arriving at the hotel they asked if we would like an evening meal we advised we had booked but they said they had nothing in the diary so again we booked for 7:30pm this time, when entering in the diary he wrote woucher at the side. On entering the restaurant that night they looked in the book and said woucher. Asked if we would like wine I advised that we got a bottle free she said oh yeah woucher I will take your glasses then and she walked away with the glasses. When ordering I asked again about the wine the girl said yes you get a bottle and took our order and left. When collecting our plates after the starters I asked again and this time got a blank look. After finishing our main I asked again when we would get the wine to be told well depends what you want rise or white I replied white and was told right I'll get it along with the dessert menu. I finally got the wine 15 minutes later with the dessert menu for her to then take the lid from the bottle and leave with it. I really felt that we were treat poorly because we had booked through woucher but if that's the case then they shouldn't offer the deal. The menu also had a very small selection to choose from. The hotel was supposed to be dog friendly, however we took our dog out for a walk to find no dog bins Infact no bins at all which was very disappointing as I am sure they don't want you to leave their mess on the grounds, we actually walked into the village to find a dog bin which I am sure some guests would not do.
