Had a lovely stay at Ye Old Ferrie Inn, rooms lovely and clean, location is beautiful with stunning views and the staff were all amazing, can’t thank you enough for a 5🌟 mini break.

The staff are lovely and the view is beautiful. Right next to the Ferry man which is handy.

Beautiful place, calm and relaxing set on the river. Wonderful to watch the world go by. Food is incredible and staff so attentive and welcoming.

Fabulous room with everything we could want and more, including stunning views. Friendly, helpful staff who went above and beyond. Stunning location and amazing food. We stayed at YOFI for four nights to celebrate our anniversary and can honestly say we were so relaxed and made to feel so welcome we didn't want to leave. The riverside location is amazing, food is delicious and the staff just wonderful. Well done team YOFI!

This is just gorgeous! The Otters Lodge is beautiful! So comfortable, warm and high standards throughout! The river is the nicest calming thing to wake up to! The food is divine and the staff are fantastic!

A cosy, comfortable and rustic pub on the river with fantastic views and great walks. The wood burners are as warm and as inviting as the welcome and attention given from the staff from the minute you walk through the door. Quality food and ale complete the box ticking. We genuinely have no adverse comments to share.

Fabulous location on the Wye, spectacular views. The renovations after floods earlier in the year have been completed very sympathetically and given a lovely spacious indoor area, cosy with the fire and stunning views along the River. Food was delicious and staff very welcoming. All done whilst complying to covid restrictions. Well done all, we'll be back.

Arrived last night for our booking and needed to wait outside, staff were very busy but that didn’t stop them being super friendly, very attentive and just brilliant! I’m sorry I didn’t catch your names but thank you! The short wait was worth it! Food was outstanding and the service was fantastic. This was our first time back to the Ferrie after 10 years — we loved it then and we weren’t disappointed this time either, just fabulous and we’ll definitely be back. Fab place, fab people, Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We queued for about 30 minutes to be finally given a seat. We then queued again for another 30 minutes and despite being told "food served until 3pm", they had stopped serving food. There was no apology, absolutely horrendous service and incredibly rude staff. Certainly will not be recommending this place to anybody.

Visited this premises on Friday 12/7 had a fantastic meal and drinks. Visited again for lunch on Saturday 13/7 had a magnificent platter more than enough for 2. Staff were fantastic, also spoke to landlord and said how good everything was. Visited again on Sunday 14/7, what a difference, ordered same platter but was half the size, complained to female manager who was not interested, was going tonight for evening meal, no chance as it was obviously a rip off.

Amazing food, wonderful service would easily return. Must admit we had originally planned to go Saracens head having been before but opted for YOFI for our Sunday lunch. And we will continue to use YOFI now! We had a newborn with us and our little Schnoodle. We were made to feel so welcome and even when our son decided to throw up they were so helpful by ensuring my wife’s food remained hot by taking it away. Easily recommend!

We visited for my husbands birthday, the service was good, however the food was a disappointment. Most starters were sold out. I ordered a cheeseburger & fries for my main meal & the burger was of very poor quality, especially for the £11.50 price tag. My husband had lamb which tasted of fish? A real shame as we were really looking forward to our special date!

Very nice location next to the river especially on a nice day. Perfect for a refreshing drink after canoeing. Friendly staff, nice old pub with nice atmosphere. However I wouldn’t recommend this place for food. The burger was very basic (the bread wasn’t very fresh and the beef patty was bad) and the falafel burger was bad. Wouldn’t be trying the food there again.

The perfect place to stop for lunch on our canoeing trip down the river. We sat on the lovely outdoor terrace and our food arrived really quickly. Quite impressive as we were a party of nine! The bacon cheeseburger is highly recommended. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Always had lovely food here until recently. Went there for a meal at 7pm which is not late and there was hardly anything left on the menu. I know they serve food in the daytime but come on people go there at night time as well. Also you pay for your meal first and when I ask for chunky chips I want chunky chips. Instead waitress comes out with skinny fries because that's all they've got left and asks are these ok. Bit late when you've already paid for it. That's where they got you instead of telling you first. Never going back there again.

Visited twice in a week while on holiday. Would have been 3 times but restaurant full. Good food at slightly high price. Good range of real ale. You pay for the view of the river while drinking and eating outside. Not a place you would want to miss. Just for the fun of it take the ferry across the river Wye.

It should be a relaxing stop in our 15 miles canoe tour and although it was lovely to have a cold bear, we also wanted to order some snacks. When we asked about cheese chips we were told that "chef doesn't like doing them" so no. We asked for the cheese on the side but also been told that chef doesn't like to that either. Clearly the place is not about customer service but about its employees preferences. I would get rid off such person from my business as obviously he has no idea how the business should work. The canoe adventure is lovely tho so I would recommend ;)

Sarcastic barman… But in a funny way. Ploughman's is simple… But done VERY well. We stopped off whilst canoeing past.

Due to a complication with booking paddle boarding, we were unable to do it. However, this was completely made up by a generous offer of canoes for as long as we wanted. Top notch service, looking forward to it next visit.

Great pub in a fantastic location! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean with a view over the river. Was a little noisy at night but we didn't mind this. Food was also good.

Food was absolutely lovely and setting beautiful. Having spent a lot quite happily on lovely food we were not impressed that we could not hear ourselves think or each other speak due to the rowdy crowd of football supporters. Had it been made known on booking we would never have booked a family meal in a pub showing the football. We booked a table asking about a children’s menu so it was clear we were a family eating! When we commented on how horrid an experience it was with loud rowdiness we were told the football match was very important. Not to us and certainly not to our children who were frightened by the shouting and ended up leaving! Would not return.

Met family here from London. As we walked past we decided to stop for tea, coffee and some cake. It was a Saturday afternoon before the evening rush. Service was quick and staff were very friendly. Such a lovely atmosphere. Delicious food, roaring fire and somewhere to dry our snowy gloves! Usually when you go to a pub with 7 young children it is (at best) a traumatic experience, but not so at Ye Old Ferrie Inn — I can’t even begin to describe the welcome we received from the landlord who was so genuine, friendly and accommodating. Thank you to all of the staff — we had a lovely time:)

Had a lovely farmers platter with my girlfriend and a pint of their most popular local ale. All sitting in a sofa in front of a log burner. Amazing. Lovely pub. Lots of parking and right by the river. Do not come if you resent dead stuffed animals on the walls. Wish they didn't do that.

Highly recommended Sunday lunch, shoulder of kid was amazing and great roast potatoes and veg. Scotch egg and piccalilli starter also awesome!

This place is very welcoming from the first moment you walk in. We have eaten here a number of times and the food is always great. The lamb we had for the Sunday roast was amazing and the extra gravy in a teapot was genius!

Being at the Ye Old Ferrie Inn on purely a work basis, I found the staff to be very helpful, polite & seemingly good company. The "locals" are very friendly & approachable not "clicky" as some locals can be when you're in their domain. During the times I've passed by or visited this Inn during work duties, it always seems busy which is a good sign in this day & age & the food smelt divine. If only I'd had the time to sample some when offered by the management. I'd recommend this place purely on the basis of the people who run & frequent here & would urge anyone, if you're in the area, drop in, I'm sure you'll receive a warm welcome with the offer of some good food in a lovely environment.

Came here on a beautiful day, we wanted to book a table to celebrate a special occasion. Waitress was extremely rude, not patient at all, raising her voice. Decided not book anything just because of her attitude, I must say this place got fabulous views but spoilt by incompetent staff.

Saw the menu online so booked for bank hol Monday when we got there we were given a menu not the same as the online menu waitress said they'd just updated it! There were no steaks an not one dish was chicken unless you had a child's chicken goujons. Not impressed four of us had burgers and drinks £74. Overpriced just a burger with lettuce a piece of tomato and a pot of skinny fries. Could of had it at McDonald's and the burger would have been cooked thro mine was red in the middle and I didn't eat it. Been coming to the Ferry in at Easter for over 30 years won't be returning.

Ate here after canoeing down the river wye. Good selection of beers and cider and the food was very good, with an enormous burger that is not for the faint hearted. The riverside location is perfect for a summer evening.

Perfect half way point on our canoe down the river wye. Service was Friendly and quick. Food was quick and nice. Definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic location. Ace staff, lovely food, and our accommodation was top notch with views out over the river and the God send of a coffee machine.

Used to live there when was 12 years old for a bit was great had cover bands smoked salmon fresh home made pies and the falcon across the river would be out hunting for there young used to have a rope ferrie to take people across good fishing great memories.

Nice food and a good pint. Think its been revamped since we were last here 4yrs ago. Ferry wasn't running which was a shame.

Insisted that a pint pulled from the end of the barrel was OK, cloudy and acidic.

Amazing pub family run and owned definitely go back warm and friendly great atmosphere.

The pub was very dirty and in desperate need of a major refurbishment. Tables and chairs sticky, flies everywhere, plaster falling off walls, toilets like those you find on a park and anything above five feet high hadn't been cleaned for years. Its a real shame as the pub is in a superb location on the river bank. The beer was poor and the food not particularly good but high "tourist" price. I'd be embarrassed if I owned/managed this place. It could be so much better; a "gold mine" even, but it has no chance the way it is. They simply make money from tourists that likely never go back.

We came to canoe the river wye and this was our finishing point. Had a beer and a something to eat while wiring to be picked up by the canoe hire company. The beer was great after a 14 mile paddle and the food was reasonable too. Would go back again.

A lovely place to stay, spent the pre xmas weekend here. Plenty of walks along the river wye. Staff are fab. Came down for breakfast and our table was already laid. Highly recommended.

WARM and Friendly. We stayed here overnight on a recent trip to the area. Our first visit to the beautiful Wye Valley. The Inn is set in a fantastic location and our room offered great views of the river and woodlands. We came into a lovely warm atmosphere, receiving a very friendly welcome from the manageress. There was a log fire burning and we settled comfortably there for the evening. The owner was very friendly and was such a great host we felt quite at home. He's also a trained chef and consequently we both enjoyed our meals, a perfect steak and a vegetarian option for my wife. The Wye Valley Pale Ale was very moorish too, be careful if you have to drive away in the morning. After a hearty breakfast we left refreshed, and already planning another visit.

Disappointed. Ye Olde Ferrie Inn offers bunkhouse and B&B accommodation. Some friends and I stayed in their bunkhouse for a weekend recently. The room seemed pleasant enough, but there was no lock on the door to the bedroom (the door once had a lock but was now missing). The bedroom had its own bathroom, but the bathroom door didn't shut properly and as a result the lock on the bathroom door was also broken where where someone had tried to force it to lock. The bathroom was clean and functional but would clearly benefit from modernisation. There was signs of mold around the shower because the wall hadn't been tiled to the full height of the shower — only painted. Back in the bedroom one of the two lights in the room had a blown bulb. All of the things mentioned above may seem like minor niggles — but they are things that are quick and easy and inexpensive to remedy — so why not? Of more concern was the attitude of the staff/management. When the booking was made, it was made clear that one of our group also wished to stay on the Sunday night (since it was a lot closer to his work than his own home and could therefore get up an hour later and save petrol money when going to work on Monday morning). We were told this wouldn't be a problem when the booking was made. However, on the Sunday morning the manager (? ) denied ever saying it was ok for one person to stay the Sunday night (despite the booking only having been made a few days earlier).
