Brilliant night here, even when the heating didnt come on! staff soon found us a plug in heater. Lovely apartment, clean, well decorated and equipped and quiet and we got into it early. Will be back.

Our room was infested with bed bugs! moved to another room which seemed bug free but one of the towels had a thick white substance stuck on it. Avoid this hotel, the staff don't care. Yes they treated our bags but no apology.

Had to check out 2 nights early due to bed bugs told they would refund me for those nights, been messed about and lied to. Worst place I’ve stayed in … shocking customer care. Avoid this place.

The staff I can’t fault as they are very polite etc but I definitely wouldn’t book it again! On booking. Com it mentions the rooms are soundproof but I had sleepless nights as you could hear the folks next door consistently and also banging doors all night long. Also the Wi-Fi wouldn’t work and no there isn’t Netflix on the television! I’ve stayed in many hotels in London and it won’t be on my list to ever come back to.

If intimidating staff and broom cupboard rooms are what you’re after then look no further than the Melville hotel! After booking for our recent trip to London and finding the room was minuscule we were shown a larger room which I agreed was better. Nicely anything would have looked like a palace compared to the first room. The misleading pictures on booking. Com led us to the mistake of booking here. We politely asked for our money back so we could continue our trip in somewhere we wanted to stay and were rudely (borderline aggressively) told no. I could go back and forwards for hours about this place but frankly I don’t have the energy. The attitude of the staff here is appalling they are incapable of having a mature conversation and in the end neither of us felt this was a safe place to stay and did not trust leaving our belongings here to go out for the day.
I am sure the hotel will come back to this with another ridiculous response but I wouldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t warn people of this and they had the same terrible experience we did.

Bitten by bedbugs. Not been reimbursed. Disgraceful.

May as well have stayed in a prison. “False advertisement” doesn’t come close. The smell as soon as you open the door to the room was disgusting, the rooms were freezing cold, and the mould was horrendous. I wouldn’t leave my dog in there.

Lack of customer service. My daughter had a Stressed stay having to change rooms and then problems with second room. Meant to have been a chilled break for her. She came home stressed out. I called to complain and told 15 business days before they get back to me.

The Melville Hotel will rob your bank account. Avoid at all cost. I attempted to stay at the hotel in July. My bank blocked the transaction as "suspicious". 3 WEEKS after the attempted booking, Hotel Melville decided to take £115.00 from my account without my authority or authorisation. Once they have your bank details they will take what they like, regardless of whether you used them or not. Daylight robbery.

Super tiny rooms, barely space to put your suitcase. Cleaning service was not great either. Great location though.

NEVER BEEN TREATED SO BAD! Due to another booking through Airbnb regarding an apartment which we on the day of arrival, couldn’t get but had already payed for, we had to stay at The Melville Hotel Albion House Hotel and The Exelsior Hotel instead, since King’s Cross Hotels Group apparently were to take care of our AirBnB-host’s guests (us) while he was on vacation. Since the day of our arrival, we have been lied to about why we couldn’t get the apartment, slept in small and dirty rooms, been yelled at by the personal (and manager), been lied to about who the manager was, been sent from one room to another because of the hotel’s extremely bad planning and we had to explain our situation to more than 6 different employees in only three days. They made us feel like we were the problem and I have never been treated so badly in my life! The King’s Cross Group made our trip to London a terrible and poor experience – DO NOT BOOK THESE HOTELS.

Not worth a star. Disgusting service and attitude. Overbooked rooms and then had the foul cheek to ask my wife to share with a male work colleague. It is beyond belief that they are still taking bookings while being full. Do not book, call or stay here!

Excellent location, clean, well maintained and good value for money.

Rooms are nice and spacious if plumping for the studio, can't say as to the other rooms. Had a few people wander in our room but thats probably down to the guests. Good for transport as right next to St Pancreas however no food is offered so you have to shop elsewhere. Service was great, had no problems at all.

Good location, good for a short stay. Maybe a little overpriced. I stayed over night. The bed was very old and uncomfortable but the Hotel is clean, friendly and quiet.

Very small room and the woodwork is damaged but everything is clean. Close to King's Cross St Pancras, which is very convenient. The staff are always available and friendly.

Is what it is. Small 3/4 bed with a tv, window and a shower. Located brilliantly for kings cross or euston. Shower was small and wouldn't fit a larger person. Myself being 5:10 12st and still cracking my elbow. Room wasn't cleaned properly. Hair left on bed and side top. But other than that. You get what you pay for. No frills no spills.

Correct reception. No service. For 3 days I asked for help and I'm still waiting… and collect QQ bites on the forearms… Insects?

Not a bad place, but it could definitely be a little better for the price. Our room is in an underground which was refurbished to be room, but the distribution of incoherent or closed windows give off its old essence.
It is very clean and the room is spacious, but there is no closet or anywhere to hang clothes or even leave it.
There is no elevator to the subway at least, so we had to drop our bags down the stairs.
In conclusion, I would recommend it as a secondary option to stay in London. A reasonable quality product is obtained at a relatively reasonable price.

Wonderful stay! For the price is was way above expectations, the room was beautiful and clean and the location was perfect.

Great location and hotel was very clean. However, the rooms are very small and basic. The bed appeared to be only 4ft although we didn’t have a tape measure, and was squashed against the wall. I would suggest booking last minute for best deals. We booked a few days in advance and paid more or less double the price advertised when we arrived. A kettle was provided but when requesting a couple of coffee sachets we were informed there would be a charge of £5.00! Very disappointing and quite unbelievable in this day and age. Would we stay again? Probably not…

If you just need a place to sleep for the night the Melville Hotel will suit you. The room was small & basic. A kettle & 2 cups were provided but tea, coffee & milk was extra! A nice quiet room is available in recognition with plenty of sofas & chairs to relax whilst waiting for your train or taxi.

The hotel is very well located, only positive point.
The reception is supposed to be open 24 hours a day but in fact no: we waited 30 minutes outside the front door of the hotel, from midnight to 0h30 (end of november, as much as you say it was not very hot…). We had no way of contacting anyone: the only available number being that of the reception, Deserted. We had to go to a nearby hotel to ask the receptionist to contact the manager of our hotel so that someone would come and open us. A person finally arrived, without excuse.
We had paid extra to get a bigger bed. Booking offered us a bed of 152cm. Finally, our room contained a smaller bed. When we explained this at the reception, we were told that the room was well in line with the one proposed, and that the bed was the right size. We insisted and the reception offered us another room "but the bed is identical". The bed was nevertheless a 152cm in this new room…
The window of the room remained open all day, while it is 3 ° Outside.
finally, the baggage is not one. The suitcases are piled up in a hallway, no number or ticket. So anyone can leave with any baggage.

Reasonable prices for a room so close to the train station. Rooms are small so I wouldn't want to stay for more than one night or so. Rooms have a safe and a kettle, but no teabags/coffee (however, they are available for an extortionate £5 from the concierge for two teabags, two coffees, four sugars and four milks). Rooms are small and clean enough, but nothing to write home about. Great if you're looking for a place to just spend the night without breaking the bank, and very handy for the train stations.

Tiny room, but fairly well kept. Shower head wouldn't stay in which was a bit annoying. Convenient location, and over all well laid out run considering the size.

Room was spacious and had everything I needed. Didn't have a hair dryer which wasn't a problem for me. The area was a bit lairy at times, but thats no fault of the hotel itself. Overall it was a good hotel with good facilities, within reach of anything you'd need.

Worst room I ever stayed at. Super dirty bathroom. The light switches obviously haven't been cleaned in years and feel like you don't want to touch them again. This room requires an immediate restauration.

Room was OK if a little small. Very hot rooms even though a fan was provided. Perfectly adequate for what we needed.

Reception area very clean and well-kept. Shame abotut the rooms. Comfy bed but TV didn't work, bathroom fixtures unfinished and had to pay extra for tea and coffee. Also missing a hairdryer which would have been nice.

Would never return. Booked and paid in advance for a family room, was given a small room with one double bed and not even a chair. The "wardrobe" was waist height and had enough room for maybe an overnight change of clothes (see photo's) It was technically clean but not clean if you can understand that. There was an awful ingrained smell about the place. There were industrial type warnings about leaving belongings in the room (which didn't instil confidence) There wasn't any conveniences but you could buy a "Refreshments Pack" consisting of 2 tea bags, 2 coffee sachets, 4 sugars and 4 milk cartons for £5. It was like a horrible B&B but without the second "B" so it's just a B. Quite seedy. A bloke on his own could rough it in there for one night if you were stuck. But it's expensive for a dive.

Horrendous place. Rooms without air conditioning, on the top floor 1am in was not possible to stsy in the room. Too hot. The bed the worst ever found in hotel. The area around, besides be close to Saint Pancrass station, quite poor impresion. Rubish all around and vomits on the street. I'm not consider myseld picky, but just book same night another hotel, pick a taxi and leave.

Small room, dirty sink and shower. Not enough toilet roll. Only glad it was a one night stay. Booked for £77 but when payment went out was £100 with no explanation. Wouldnt recommend to any friends or family.

Lovely place. Reasonably priced. Very central for easy access.

This place was Comfortable and it was close to Kings Cross station. I enjoyed my stay but I wish breakfast was included. The room was a good size for a London Hotel.

I've never written a review for a hotel before but feel compelled to write for this absolutely disgrace of a hotel. We arrived around 7pm and it seems that they just give away rooms at random as the room we booked online was not what we were initially given and then they moved us to another room that was bigger (we'd ordered Club Double) but the shower was the size of a cupboard, not the rainshower bathroom advertised. I spoke to the 'night porters' who were the only people …there and they were offering the apparently only other room available (a family room) to me for £50 extra charge. I said no. Carried on complaining our room is not what was advertised, then he changed it and said £30. This hotel seems to have the most dodgy and intimidating staff and left me running out of the reception crying with how they made me feel. I used TripAdvisor to base my research for hotel choice but will now research further afield as this place should be avoided. I am just glad I was there with my partner and not alone.

Worst experience here! Never come again! We reserved family suite one month ago from New York to London trip on x'mas! When I got in they said first come first reserve! So why need to reserved? 2nd thing they don't have enough room just put us in basement tiny room? In New York basement is illegal to live! We couldn't acceptable! They charged us over $200? They said cause we are not first come? What a reason? I always physical scary about sleep in basement! I talk to them I am a consumer! I booked the room not state that is in basement? Fortunately we understand English so can stand on my side! At the end they settled two separate room for my family of 4 (two kids）！London is a beautiful city! But we got worst experience cause The Melville! Also made us unsatisfactorily! Made my kids worried about us!

The staff were so helpful and the room had a good bed, towels and the ensuite was lovely and warm. I couldn't want for anything more and it was just 5 mins from St Pancras / kings cross. It did make me laugh with the lovely mirror above the bed though cos I luckily wasn't tall enough to see myself ha ha.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights before catching the Eurostar and although the room was small and basic, it was clean. Coming back from France a week later, we arrive to check in at 11pm to find our room isn't ready. The bed's not been changed, towels are damp and rubbish left by the bin. Just not good enough. We had to wait 10-15 mins for the receptionist to change the bedding & towels. This hotel is convenient for St Pancras, but it is room only, too small & I wouldn't stay here again.

Rooms not cleaned. Binds not emptied. Shower has drops of blood in it. First room fan covered in dust. Window has to have something in it to hold it open. Showe r flooded whole bathroom. Staff not helpful.

Good location, close to St Pancras. Clean hotel, rooms not massive but big enough with private bathrooms.

Opposite the hotel is a beautiful park, from the St. Pancras, King's Cross and Euston stations are very close, and this is why we live here. The room is very small, I was pushed against the wall. Also, there is no way to hang up the clothes, hangers, and "closet" is very small.

Clean, tidy, reception was not overly warm. Book said to have breakfast, but it is not. Bed and room was very small. I'm not sure I would come again. Hotel is located very close to the station, but could go elsewhere next time.

Good service, good hotel. Only concern was the shower had the option of being hot or hot.

Good hotel for good price. Near the station of kings cross which has two great metro lines to discover or enjoy London.

Clean and comfortable. No breakfast or business center, but there is plenty of good food in the neighborhood, as well as an internet cafe with a printer. The singles are VERY small and cozy.
