Great hotel. Great bars and restaurant. Entertainment good. Swimming pools inside and outside.

All the staff are very helpful especially Josh in the Aztec bar I think it was his first day yesterday he was so helpful and polite brilliant hotel all round.

The closest you can get to being abroad without flying…
friendly staff, great food, nice chilled pool area with music, frequent live singers, free parking, comfortable clean rooms and 5 minute walk to beach harbour and shops… absolutely perfect and great value for money. We were lucky to get 3 sunny days which obviously helped but will definately be back!
In regards to covid they have good systems in place to keep you safe.

We've been here on a tinsel & turkey week as theres 52 of us.

Lovely holiday spent at the Derwent with family. Leisure facilities excellent, restaurant and food very good and overall facilities lovely too. Ideal for families and themed activities. Good to have loyalty to previous guests recognised too. Great location — Paignton Zoo nearby, Dinosaur World, Dawlish, Exeter and other S Devon attractions. We’ll be back again hopefully treated to better weather though!

Had a fantastic break away with my husband. The hotel is excellent and very clean. Lots to do and is in a great location with a bus stop right outside that goes to many tourist attractions. The meals where great and all the staff are lovely and friendly. We enjoyed ourselves so much we extended our stay. We will certainly be back soon.

Very dated. Rooms weren't cleaned particularly well. We had confetti left on the carpet of our room for the 3 days we were there. It was there when we arrived and there when we left. Not much hoovering going on. Bathroom was pretty bad, can't have been redecorated in 40 years. The pool area was nice. The kids loved it. The 10 pin bowling lane on the right slopes to the right. Food is limited to easy cook carb fest, so left feeling pretty unhealthy. Bingo every night at 8:30 was… actually quite fun… but just seemed like everything was trapped in the 1970s… oh yes, and not enough parking for all the rooms, so everyone was getting blocked in as cars were just taking any available room in the car parks as there was no other option… people getting quite upset. 3 stars, will never be anything more.

I would give this hotel zero stars. It is filthy. It is a fire hazard due to very narrow corridors and stairs. The people who seem to go there cannot control their children and just want to drink. The restaurant staff were fantastic and the meals were good. All in all the 4 hotels within the complex needs to be closed for a few weeks and a total refurbishment required (with all the discloured her curtains burnt). Would I stay there again DEFINATELY NO.

An enjoyable stay on a large complex. Nice food polite staff, a great old family and young family resort hotel. Five mins walk to the beach large open spaces nearby plenty for everyone, I will visit here again.

Central location, close to the shops, bars, and Chepstow Castle. Small car park to the rear of the hotel. Staff were friendly. Dining area is nicely decorated, and there is a small bar with the option of outdoor seating which is in a good spot on the cobbled street outside. Room wasn't anything special, but it was clean and good as a base which was what we wanted. Four stars mainly for location and lovely staff.

We have stayed with TLH soooooo many times but always between Christmas and new year. We decided to take a 2 day break from 1st July as we had a couple of days free. What a delight! We arrived far too early to check in but our cases were kept in a secure room while we went and had lunch and a drink in the Aztec bar. From then until we checked out today everything has been great, even then we were told we could enjoy all the facilities of the hotel until we were ready to leave. A special mention to Caracas on reception and Anita in the dining room. But well done TLH you've done it again.

The hotel is very clean the staff are very friendly. There is plenty to do there. Breakfast is very good main meals at night could do with more of a selection bar from that the food is very good.

The Derwent Hotel is fantastic. Great for a family stay. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Good choice of food and drink. Plenty to do come rain or shine. My boys aged 13 and 3 did not know what to do first. Excellent indoor pool, arcade with various things to do, soft play area, outdoor playground and so much more. The on site entertainments team are truly superb. Try and catch the Hits From The Flicks show. The hotel is a 15 minute stroll from the beach and Paignton Zoo is a 15 minute car ride away. I would highly recommend a stay with the team at the Derwent Hotel. The Kirwan family.

This is a review for my Mother & Father who have just had a great time at the Derwent Hotel Torquay for the second time with James Beven Coaches the only complaint is that the evening entertainment started too late after the bingo but other than that great.

Really enjoyed our stay here loads to do and town isn't far. We come here alot and will continue to come back.

A nice place to stay with good facilities. Lifts are very small, so if you arrive in large groups who need to use the lift, it may slow access to your rooms, but otherwise nice.

ThIs is a complex of four hotels each offering different levels of room quality but sharing all facilities. Dining rooms are large to accommodate the amount of guests that can stay here but that does not detract from the quality of food on offer, cooked to order or from the buffet. The rooms I found to be very clean and spacious offering tea /coffee making facilities. Wardrobes are large and house a personal safe. Though many of the guests are in the plier age range the hotels offer indoor pastimes to suit all ages including swimming pools, dance floors, indoor bowls green and a games room. Outdoor swimming is also available. Entertainment is varied and available every night from live artists to dancing and bingo. Hotel lies within five minute walk to the beach and can be reached easily by public transport as it is not far from the train station. On site car parking is available passes obtained from reception.

Nice hotel, plenty to do there if the weather is bad, very good entertainment team who puts on their own show on some nights.

There is so much for a family to do no matter the age. I love this place. You could easily not leave the hotel. Food is really good and service is brilliant.

Just arrived back from the Derwent hotel we were unfortunate to be there when the snow arrived! Because of the amount of snow that fell we were unable to leave on the day of departure? I would like to show my appreciation to all the people working at that hotel for the kind way they looked after us untill we were able to leave a day late this ment that approx 50 people on our bus had to be rebooked for a extra day this took a lot of work to put us back into our original rooms, this was helped out because the arriving bus trip was cancelled because of the snow! Thank you the Derwent staff.

Hi had a lovely time at Victoria only downside was the lift being out of order, would like to have seen a porter there offering to take some guests cases up to rooms.

Excellent weekend (turkey and tinsel) just a little — for disco just would have liked a little bit more modern stuff but over all enjoyed. All staff lovely and welcoming thankyou all.

Just came back from derwent been going there for 8 years or more playing bowls this the first time it has been bad. It was cold in starlight lounge most of the time and in a lot of places. The restaurant was not as good and it was cold in there it seems like cut back through out I hope it gets back to how it was the staff do s good job.

Always found this Hotel very clean and tidy. The food is excellant. And staff are very helpful. This is our 6th visit to Derwent and Torak.

Good surroudings, friendly staff, excellent facilities, great breakfast! Do you need anything else? Give a try you won't be disappointed and if you are let one of the staff know, they will do their best to sort it for you!

An excellent weekend spent at this excellent hotel with a group of 29 others and everybody really enjoyed themselves as there is so much going on to suit all she groups.

Been coming here for over 14 years! My favourite place ever! Never want to leave. Great for all generations, plenty to do and see. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recently got married there this yr! Made my day even more special getting married in my favourite place. Azetc Bistro is amazing food and staff are great. I've recommended the Derwent to many of my friends who now are regular visitors too.

A well organised bowling holiday venue. Very friendly restaurant staff and housekeeping do a good job.

Great destination for a family holiday… Everything you need is there and it's safe if ur kids have special needs.

Stayed from the 12 th to the 19th august 2017… what a great place! Good location 10 minute walk to town. So much to do in the hotels for the whole family my 12 year son was never out of the indoor and out door pools. Great activities for the full family and great the torquay united came and played football. The staff are amazing and go the extra mile especially the entertainment staff! Food lovely and lots to choose from. Room was very clean and fresh towels everyday. My only issue was my son wasn't allowed to use the gym as he's under 16 years old maybe this is something to think about as most young boys use the gyms at home. All in all a great holiday and already booked for next year! Well done derwent.

Me and my partner have just came back and we loved our stay, the food was beautiful, staff helpful and loads to do. We will be booking for next year and taking our children with us, as they have so much to do.

Excellent informal holiday hotel in a complex of four with many shared facilities. The food at breakfast & dinner in the restaurant is superb. I don't know how they cater for so many guests with the variety of dishes on offer. Three choices of starter, mains & pudding, extra a la carte, a servery option, a vegetarian option & salads. Wonderful service.

Best value for money hotel in country great staff super place.

Nice place to come and stay, good entertainment, and things to do if it is rain or shine, very good food if you are staying and eating in the restaurant. But a very good choice of food and good price if you want to buy food in the top restaurant and you can eat in or out the choice is yours.

This hotel is dated, the beds are hard and old. The shower cubicle in our room was small. The swimming pool was lovely, but the changing rooms were not particularly clean. It is such a shame as the staff were absolutely wonderful, they couldn't be more accommodating.

I was at Tlh for the workout warrior studio class. Great class, excellent work out Costs £5.

The most important thing to say is that the staff there are amazing. They couldn't help enough and were all friendly. The view from the room the event was held in was fantastic, overlooking the sea and local area.

A hotel that has a lot of entertainment to offer for its customers.

We like going they as family holiday and the staff are very frelindly as well.

Large hotel with plenty of amenities. Excellent restaurant with lots of choices. Entertainment and leisure facilities are plentiful. One fault is the amount of stairs and distance of rooms with inadequate quantity of lifts for size of hotel.
