Second stay Here, would have been 3 but through the pandemic things changed! Great room again, big bed, sooooo clean! Simon and Joan are grrrrrreat hosts and make you feel at home ♥️ looking forward to booking our next stay! Breakfast is 10 out of 10! Would highly recommend a stay here! (but don’t pinch our room)!

Just returned home from a wonderful stay in May Cottage. The hosts, Joan & Simon make you feel so welcome and are very knowledgeable about the area. They had some useful suggestions for places which were accessible for my husband and myself to go on our mobility scooters. Very clean, comfortable room and great breakfasts made our stay in this friendly B&B a treat! — looking for recommendations.

Really enjoying our stay. The staff and the rooms / facilities really live up to the promise on the website. It’s nice to have experienced exactly as the read up suggested. The hot tubs on the balconies are awesome, the room is a high standard with everything you need, the restaurant next door serving excellent food. Every member of staff genuinely helpful and look like they enjoy working here.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay. Thank you for making our stay luxurious and comfortable. Thanks to you all for serving an excellent breakfast on all the days.

Perfect location in Windermere and managed to bag a parking space in near by street as no official parking for guest house.
Room 4 — could do with new mattress but room apart from this was perfect. Good view from window, mini fridge and wine glasses provided. Little things but so often in guest houses you get a mug and a plastic cup only. Worth the price paid for two nights.
Usual occurrence these days of self check in, not sure I like it, undecided, miss the meet and greet.

The owner Ruth it’s such an nice woman and she helped us to accommodate and very hospitable! I love the room we stayed, it’s feel so much like home, clean, well decorated and organised. Plenty of storage in the room, tea, coffee, mini fridge, kettle, toiletries. 10/10 we will definitely come back here! It’s free parking front of the hotel if you are lucky, otherwise you can park for reasonable price at the rail station which is 2 min away to walk.

Thank you for having us and our collies this week. The room was immaculate, the bed was so comfortable, and the tiniest details like air freshener in the bathroom and ear plugs in the bedside drawer were exceptional and very thoughtful. Breakfast food was stunning and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. 100% recommend and will definitely stay here again. Our dogs loved it too. Ps. To the owners, Luna is beautiful.

Just returned from the most beautiful lunch here. The food was fantastic and service impeccable. Really can not recommended highly enough. And that cheesecake… Delicious! Will definitely return soon.

Absolutely gorgeous food, the Beef suet pudding was to die for and the staff were so friendly and helpful would definitely go again.

Just spent 3 nights at Brantfell House. Can highly recommend. Lovely clean room. Breakfast is delicious & sets you up for the day. Perfect location for walking & eating out. Parking not an issue with a permit supplied to park in the car park very close by. Adie & Mandy are the perfect hosts. Full of local knowledge & recommendations. Excellent hosts Mandy & Adie. Well positioned B&B, quiet and located close to Ambleside centre and walking distance to lots of circular walks and Lake Windermere. Parking not a worry, given a parking pass so we could park in the roads nearby, space at the back to drop off luggage. Breakfast… perfect fresh good quality food and dietary requirements catered for too. (vegan). Loads of attention to detail … won't spoil by saying what😉Well done 👏🏼 ✔️ 10 out of 10!

Absolutely great weekend with my wife. Clean, amazing big bed and fantastic base to see all the Lake District has to offer. It's close to everything in Bowness but tucked away from any unwanted noise. Chris the host was really helpful. We can't recommend highly enough. Looking forward to visiting again.

I had a great stay at the Rockefeller apartments with my friends. Beautiful modern apartments with everything you need. Very comfy beds and luxury bedding. Chris the host was very helpful. Also my daughter has just stayed in a one bedroom apartment. She also had a great stay. Great location too. I will definitely return very soon.

A very comfortable stay in this lovely guesthouse. Perfect location, the guesthouse was a great choice. We had everything we needed in our well appointed and beautifully clean room. Very comfy bed too.

Service was impeccable. Breakfasts were excellent. Rooms were thoughtfully furnished, perfectly clean and presentable. Would definitely stay there again when we return in the future. Very central to everything you need in Windermere and the Lake District. Walk to most things, Bus nearby or a short drive if walking isn’t for you.

We stayed one night and would definitely return again, great location plenty of parking spaces and fantastic rooms, spacious bedroom and lounge… I would return just for the breakfast which wouldn’t be out of place in a 4/5 star hotel… friendly staff and a hidden gem!

A beautiful weekend at The Dozy Deer 🦌
I stayed here with my two siblings in the family room (1 double bed and 2 singles). The room had 2 cosy chairs to enjoy a cup of coffee in after a long day. It was also equipped with a TV, where you can log in with your netflix. The room was beautiful — so clean (5*) and had everything we needed.
The cosy ensuite was equipped with a sink, toilet and a stand in shower.

Absolutely loved the stay, room was big and clean. Grest location, 10 mins walk from windermere station and one can get frequent buses from Library stop to go near by attractions. Staff was very kind to accommodate us before the check-in time and allowed to keep our luggage. Free coffee machine to use, small room to have coffee, food, snacks. Lots of supermarkets and restaurants near by.

I can’t recommend The Mortal Man highly enough! Staff are super friendly and welcoming and treated our little dog like a VIP. Nice menu in the restaurant and some nights there is live music and open mic in the bar. The setting is beautiful, perfect for walkers and hikers with hikes for all levels of ability. We can’t wait to return.

Stayed in room 12 in the outbuildings. Dog friendly room which was lovely. Well furnished and a great walk in en-suite shower. Hearty great pub food served and a belly busting breakfast. They serve locally brewed beers which are really good. Just a good traditional hotel and pub that has retained its heritage. There’s resident Badgers 🦡 to see too!

Some lovely guests visited us tonight at the Glen Rothay & left this amazing drawing! So of course we have put it in its rightful place right above the bar ☺️ thank you!

Great Motel, second time I've been here when I take my annual fishing trip. Clean, comfy bed with everything you need, lively bar area, beach is a minute walk with beautiful coves and long stretch…

Extremely friendly staff and check in was quick & easy. The room was exactly as advertised and everything worked perfectly. Breakfast was easy to order and arrived on time and hot every day. Would definitely recommend to others and we will be back to try the other rooms.

We stayed at Elim Bank for my 50th birthday. Adam and Symmoane have a wonderful guest house. They have thought of everything including complimentary toiletries and fresh towels daily. The continental breakfast was extensive and nothing was too much trouble. The actual guest house is very cosy with period features and appropriate decoration. Our room was at the top of the house. The second flight of stairs are narrow and a bit steep, they are I keeping with the building. There is no lift.

Lovely guest house, spotlessly clean and within walking distance of the lakes shops and bars. Adam and Simmoane were so attentive and welcoming. We would definitely recommend staying here and would go back without hesitation.

However … electricity charges are h my opinion. I was charged £156.48 for 6 days occupancy. I was careful to follow all advice given re turning down temp to 16 degrees when going out. Used the dishwasher once. I heard others complain about these charges. Unit charges were pointed out to me when arrived, doesn't mean much when you have no idea how much electricity is in a unit. I was also given the initial reading but there was no access to the meter to check.

Great location in bowness with plenty of quality restaurants bars and shops close by. Small selection of essentials available in reception too just incase you’ve forgotten anything! Apartment was cosy and well equipped. We did have a housekeeping issue during our stay but very happy to report that Elisa sorted this, thank you Elisa. We are looking forward to a return visit early next year.

I have just got back from staying at Puddle Duck Lodge and I have to say that Dave and Jenny really look after you. Nothing is too much for them. They have really lovely homely, meticulous accommodation, superb breakfast and it's cooked to perfection. I went there with my dog and they welcomed her from the beginning of our stay until we left today. I cannot recommend Puddle Duck Lodge enough. Thank you again Dave and Jenny.

Had an AMAZING time here at Puddle Duck Lodge… Dave and Jenny were wonderful hosts… The attention to detail was truly beautiful, breakfast delivered to your door and cooked to perfection… I honestly didn't want to leave… Can't wait to return 😁

Cannot recommend enough if travelling with a dog. Adore the tennis ball. The breakfast was sublime. Ellie was so kind to our dog Willow. Maybe a dog menu for breakfast. Car park charge bit expensive.

I stayed one night with friends, we had dinner, bed and breakfast. The staff looked after us from the moment we arrived till we left. The room was amazing. Every detail from the decor to the tea tray. The bed was super comfy. All the food was delicious. Would definitely return again.

Came up to the lakes for a weekend getaway, thankfully the hotel was a great pick. First impression (after the beautiful scenery of the lake district) was the staff who were really friendly and courteous throughout the stay, always much appreciated after our long drive up. Food was great and hit the spot perfectly 👌
Rooms were clean and tidy as you'd expect, and our bed was really comfy.
We'll definitely be booking a stay here again.

Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff! Located in town with only a couple minutes walk in the centre. Rooms were clean and had a plenty of room for putting away belongings. Comfortable bed which meant a good night sleep. Reasonable price rooms in comparison to other B&B in the area. Great pubs and restaurants near by and only less than a mile away for Lake Windermere. Only negative was that in our room there was only a sliding door to the ensuite bathroom which could not be locked or shut.

Had meal and drinks The various meals that were had were well presented and cooked well very tasty, decent sized portions. Priced very competitively would highly recommend a visit here.

Hotel room was large and overlooked the spa, the bed was extremely comfortable, breakfasts were great and even had Almond milk which was great for me as a diabetic as milk can raise your sugar, service was friendly and quick, all in all a great 3day break made even better with an upgrade and the black Friday deal.
