We stayed one night at Kauai Palms after a late flight. Our room was ready with a light on, very clean linens and the room was adequate for our needs. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. We recommend this hotel for your economy needs! Free coffee in the lobby was an excellent treat! Mahalo for your kindness!

I recommend people on island and off island this hotel is family oriented with full customer service love and aloha from the receptionist to the employees. There so professional in what they to with love qne aloha they really love there job. There 10 on my list. Mahalo nui loa k. P. H.

I loved the Kauai Palms Hotel! Good rooms for the rate AND they have a washer/dryer… which is especially helpful if you're traveling for a longer period of time!

Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, plus a great little mini kitchen. No complaints. I’d definitely stay here again.

Cons: Very thin walls, don't expect to sleep in past 7:30am. High price point for what you get but there isn't anything cheaper on the island (Besides a hostel). Pretty small rooms Pros: Free coffee and Wi-Fi Cheapest hotel on the island Good quality towels and bed Convenient location Don't expect what you would get for $120 on the mainland but it's definitely not a bad option.

Very quiet and home like place to stay. Staff is very friendly. Love staying there. Very comfortable with soft beds, TV and air conditioning.

Great stay. Very comfy and cozy. Aircon is a plus. Towels and a good shower. A little small and no soap so bring your own, but other than that we would stay there again!

This is a two star hotel. That being said, all expectations were met and we got what we paid for. The bed in our room was not conformable and the pillows are quite flat. The shower is also difficult to operate because it tends to stick on either full hot or full cold. The room was clean and the AC worked perfectly. Staff was friendly and kind.

Had an awesome time. We only stayed one night but the staff was very nice. They recommend several great things ga for us to do while here on our first trip here.

Great cheap hotel. Small rooms. Good staff. Some good restaurants close by. Robs grill and daddy o’s restaurant were great. Loud AC but kept the room cool. Quick drive to the beach. We stayed here for the first half of our trip so we could save some money and spend our days hiking and exploring. Only downfall was a few cockroaches in our room — not surprising given the climate though.

This place was perfect for our trip! My brother and I stayed here for four nights. We love exploring so we just needed a place to sleep and shower and didn’t want to spend a fortune to do so. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The rooms are small but comfortable and the beds were super comfortable for me, which I greatly appreciate. We booked late and so we actually had to book 3 rooms to cover the nights we needed. We were in room 17 the first nights, which was my favorite room. It’s on the top level and does not have a kitchenette but we didn’t need it. Then we moved to room 22. It was also on the top level, had a kitchenette, but was a little cramped. Our last night we were on room 26, which was on the ground level and was a great size room with a kitchenette. We had an AC unit in two of the rooms but we didn’t use them. Just opened the windows and had the ceiling fan on and it was perfect! The parking in the back is nice and feels very safe. The roosters do crow in the morning but I am a deep sleeper and this didn’t bother me. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors, but once again, that didn’t bother me. Overall, if you’re looking for a place to sleep and shower, while you explore the island, this is the place for you. If you’re looking for a resort experience, this is not for you.

Clean, comfortable and friendly. Many restaurants in walking distance. Washer and dryer available. Coffee in the lobby in the morning. Soft beds and towels. Our flight got in late but Maria sent me a text saying which room was ours, left the lights on and the key on the dresser.

Clean and quaint. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. Bring earplugs because the roosters that wander free in the neighborhood wake up early.

Great first night on the island! It ain't fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. Right in town, accessible to everything in Lihue. Convenient and original.

Stayed here in February for 2 nights before hitting the Kalalua Trail. While the rooms are simple and there are few amenities, they are well kept and clean. The staff are awesome. They are very accommodating and sweet. The price is very affordable for a hotel near the airport (which was only about a $12 cab ride). I would definitely recommend staying here!

Very homie feel to it the lady at the desk is a total sweetheart very helpful and went above and beyond to help me.

Clean place with decent rooms. Location isn't great though, not too close to beach or any other attractions. Very limited parking available. Wi-Fi is absolutely terrible, unprotected and usually down, don't expect to have Wi-Fi at all here. Also no free breakfast and pretty much no space outside of rooms to hangout in. Overpriced and very basic, don't expect much.

Probably the best accommodation for that money on Kauai. Kind of motel style, but very cozy and clean rooms. Me and my gf stayed 2 nights (each one in different room) and we were very satisfied with amenities and cleanliness (well done housekeepers). The only thing we were missing was a basic kitchen as there isn't any grocery shop around so we brought some food with us but we couldn't cook it.

The rooms were very small but sufficient for our needs. The bed was very comfortable. Very reasonable rates.

Roaches all over our room! In the bathroom. In the closet. They’re coming from the wall the TV is on. We went to tell the front desk and they acted surprised, but conveniently had a can of Raid roach killer to give us. I’m so disappointed.

Arrived at around 1230 in the afternoon, and didn't realize the check in time was 3 pm, Maria that worked the front counter said it was no problem to check in early, and that was great. Rooms are small but very comfortably. We were a little tired from jet lag so took a nap, and asked where a good place to eat and she said go to robs good time bar which we went to right down the block, well this place was the bomb!, great happy hour from 3-5, Great Mia tais, and great appetizers. Fri night's is there special rib eye steak for 19.95 that looks delish, I would of got it but was to full from the appitizers. Also a plus was a live band that starts at 5, well after 5 Mia ties & appitizers and lisinging to the band we finally stumbled back to our hotel to call it a night.

Just what we needed. Pretty much just a place to sleep. We were busy exploring the island.

This place is off the beaten path just south of Lihue airport. It is more in a local neighborhood and is really a Motel. Your not quite sure what to make of the place when you pull up as it almost looks like another residence. However once you step up to the open air check in the place feels home and inviting. The rooms simple but clean and our room had 3 different bed and it's large enough to have them. So a family can really travel on a budget. It also has a microwave, mini fridge, sink, coffee maker, a hot plate and cooking utensils. They serve a Continental breakfast in the morning as well. Plenty of parking BTW. Great place at a budget price.

Lovely place, walking distance to eating joints. Wish they could provide kettle in each room, so that guests can have tea or coffee whenever they want.

This place was cute and clean. The lady behind the desk when I checked in was great — she chatted to me and was super friendly (checkout was another story altogether, I felt like I was bothering the lady behind the desk by dropping off my key). The rooms are small, but they have what you need. The bed was fairly comfortable and the AC worked well enough for the size of the room. The Wi-Fi is totally open, so don't access any sensitive data while you're there unless you have a VPN.

Great customer service, very friendly and accomodating for our late check-in (our flight arrived at 9pm). Clean, small room and perfect for what we needed. Shower has good water pressure. Has a small fridge too! We only stayed one night, as we went to stay in Princeville the next day. Bed was fine. Great price too. We got the room with AC, totally worth it. Loved how parking was just steps from our room. Made things really easy for check in and check out. Would stay here again.

This place is exactly what we need, and nothing more. The rooms are very small and minimal, but if you're spending a bunch of time in your hotel room in Kauai, you're not doing it right. We've only met one employee (at the check-in counter), but she was very nice. All in all, it's perfect. It's not the prettiest hotel, but it's a great, inexpensive place to spend the night.

Stayed here for one night as the kickoff to my honeymoon. The room was clean although because our flight was late they just left our room unlocked so I didn't enjoy that aspect of it. It was close to the airport and easy to get to but I wouldn't stay for a whole week. I prefer to be close to the beach.

The room is alright. Clean sheet with mattresss protectors. I can hear people's talking when they walked by the corridorcorridor. Limited parking space available.

My wife and I spent our first night in Kauai here, and Maria was very helpful; we arrived late but they were still able to accommodate us. Nice room, functional and handy window air conditioner unit, the bathroom was a little tiny but the bedroom was spacious for two people.

After reading various reviews on Google and Expedia concerning the cleanliness of this place and the roaches (which should be expected in Hawaii) and bedbugs (which freaked me out) I was relieved to see that both the grounds and the room were very well kept. The staff members were polite, and willing to answer questions when asked. It was apparent that they were just doing their job, which is something I can appreciate. The room itself was large enough for it's purpose, we didn't want anything beyond a place to sleep and keep our baggage. We stayed for a total of four nights, and most of our time was spent away from the hotel. If you are going to be staying here for longer periods of time I could see how the size might bother you, especially if you didn't come to Hawaii to be outside. The free coffee was a nice touch, though admittedly we were usually gone by the time the sun was coming up. We were on the ground floor and there was no noise pollution from the rooms around us or the neighborhood around (aside from the chickens). They have a small barrel with beach equipment in, which you can borrow if you need to. On site washing and drying, free Wi-fi which didn't make it into the room, but was still there. Location was good. Overall I think this hotel was great and would stay there again.

Horrible hotel mold in the shower wall and on the shower curtain. Walls were very dirty as if someone had dirt on their hands and smudged it on the wall. The door boards in the bathroom had dust everywhere. I complained and nothing was done. If u don't want to be upset I would recommend to not stay here.

Complete waste of time. Called and asked the receptionist ahead of time. Her name is mili. She guaranteed me a room with ac and tv. 2 things I told her I required. She said it would be ready. Got here to slow service and a higher rate than we agreed to. Then the room doesn't even have ac. She brushed it off and I told her I'm leaving.

I stayed there for one night upon my late night arrival to Kauai. The accommodations had been updated and I was impressed to see organic toiletries offered. Room was clean, staff was very helpful and it served our purpose of having a place to stay right near the airport. The morning coffee was greatly appreciated. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Kauai.

Had probably the biggest place there ☺ stayed for two weeks. Staff was very kind and help full. I would definitely stay there again even in a smaller room (had opportunity to see). If I ever get to return. Thank u Kauai Palms.

Kauai Palms is an older, no frills hotel that fills the bill of a clean decent place to shower and get some rest. I like it there, it is no frills but it suits me just fine. The added bonus is that it is right next door to her more assignment so my meals are always covered.

My room was very comfortable. The location is so convenient to popular restaurants within walking distance. The hotel staff has a lot of Aloha Spirit.
I really enjoyed my 10 day stay for my high school reunion. I will return to stay here in two years. I would recommend Kauai Palms Hotel to everyone. The local atmosphere is wonderful.

Simple bedrooms (bed, shower, mini fridge). Be ready to be woken up by the roosters.

For comparatively low price of around 80 bucks this motel seemed like a deal for a few day trip from Maui to Kauai as we likely would never be able to make this trip again and wanted to see all the islands. Upon arrival I was severely disappointed, as the rooms appear nothing like their website picture. Tiny rooms measure 10 by 15 feet including the bathroom! The room wasn't well cleaned and had old used mini shampoo bottles in the top part of the shower and a small uncapped needle that rolled from under the bed during the stay. The bed was over used and had huge indentation. I thought we could ignore this as most of our time was spent sight seeing out side the hotel. What I at first thought was an allergic reaction to cheap laundry soaps used to wash the sheets turned out to be BEDBUGS! My first clue should have been the few roaches I saw in the room but I was told that even the 5 star places have them due to climate. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars trying to completely exterminate BEDBUGS from my house, not roach sightings as of yet, so that is good. Have not had company over for weeks and weeks as they are afraid they'll get them too. Terrible experience overall. Sad I have to give even 1 star to this place instead of the ZERO it deserves.

We only had a one night stay here as we arrived a day early for our extended stay in a beach front house but this hotel was excellent for that short time. We arrived late at night but staff were up and waiting for us, they found a spot for us to park on a crowded street and did everything to make our stay comfortable. Our room was old and well used but clean and comfortable and our biggest difficulty was hauling our big suitcases up a fairly steep flight of steps. Coffee in the morning was good and welcoming. We would certainly consider staying here again.

Don't do it! Bedbug alert! Spend the extra money for peace of mind elsewhere. The front desk lady was very nice, fast service and a breath taking view. As newlywed's we thought this was affordable and a great bargain after spending good money on our wedding. However, my wife and I noticed that every night we stood at the Hotel we got little red bumps on our feet and arms. We realized what they were on our last night at the Kauai Palms Hotel. I felt something lightly crawling on my arm, so I smacked the upper part of my arm and saw a little bug that looked as if it had a blood feast the night before. Grosss. We thought this whole gross nightmare was over, but it was just the beginning. A month later we started getting the red bumps/ bite-marks again. So we had an exterminator come and check things out, the man said we had — — — — Beg-bugs! — — Finally four months later we had to get rid of all our new furniture/ bed because they were breading grounds for the — — — — — — — Bed-bugs. In the end we still ended up paying a lot more money for our vacation and new lives. Bedbugs will make you one mad person, I can say this from experience! Great for if your low on cash. Its prettyy cozy for how cheap it is too. The beds arnt plush but there comfy and most importantly the bathrooms are clean. They have free Wi-Fi too.
