Review of My Place Hotel-Spokane Valley, WA 2*

This hotel is not someplace I would choose to stay at again, especially not for an extended period of time. We ran into a couple major issues and a few minor ones. — Our first night here, maintenance came into our room while we were still asleep to fix something. There's very little more frightening than being woken up by someone coming into your locked room unannounced while in a strange place. Apparently they thought we had checked out because someone looked at the wrong list, didn't see or room listed, and thought we weren't here. — The hotel is advertised as 100% smoke free, yet they have smoker's poles installed very close to the entry doors, encouraging violation of Washington's law of no smoking within 25 feet of doors and windows. I have health issues that prevent me from being near smoke so this was a big problem for me. — This place is advertised as extended stay, but the only difference I see between it and other hotels I've stayed at is the addition of an electric burner and a larger fridge. If you want pans/dishes/etc, you have to buy them yourself (never seen that at any extended stay I've been to). — Only one night stand was provided, so my wife had one, but I had to set things (glasses, phone, etc) on the floor. — Some of the TV channels didn't work. They would instead show the neighboring channel, but still listed it as what the channel was supposed to be. Additionally, it seemed our TV was probably a demo model as every 5 minutes or so, some information about the TV's features would appear on the screen and needed to be dismissed. I could not figure out how to get rid of it. Also when asked about the problem, the front desk claimed it probably couldn't be fixed and didn't even attempt to do anything. Otherwise the bed was reasonably comfortable, and the shower worked fine. I might consider staying here if I was driving through and only needed a place to crash good the night, but I would not consider staying here long term again.
