Spend a weekend there for my husband’s birthday, it was a fabulous time. We enjoyed the timing of the elevator, it’s clean and is kept cool.

This location mastered not only the big things but the little things too. I was here for a conference over the weekend, but of course forgot a few things. Not only did they have a razor and toothbrush, but even a small sewing kit! My travel pillow sprang a leak on my way in & they saved me from spewing micro beads all over Alexandria. The room was pleasantly cool & the bed was phenomenal. I loved the two types of pillows. I didn’t expect the thin duvet to be warm enough when I cranked the AC but it was perfect. This location was everything I needed to turn a conference into a lovely getaway.

Great hotel and restaurant.

Overcharged and other issues with bill and charges. It took two weeks for the issue to be resolved.
The room was nice and clean, bed comfortable.
The staff was great upon checking in, not so much after that. Was short and abrupt when I questioned charges.
Be aware they hold out a $50.00 per day deposit. However they say it’s for the $36.00 per parking fee. They said they would deduct the $72.00 owed for parking and credit my account for the rest. However the took another $82.00 out of my account, with the two $50.00 still pending.
I called every other day trying to get it resolved. The gentleman repeatedly told me to wait 3-5 business day, the problem with that was it had been well beyond that.
If you’re a member double check the $9.99 internet charge if you use the Wi-Fi. I was charged for it being a member. Know that if you aren’t a member you will be charged a $9.99 fee.
FINALLY after speaking twice with Beth and her being of no help. I thanked her and told her I would contact Marriott corporate office. She said they can’t do anything because we’re a franchise. However the very helpful lady I spoke with did not share the same info. Beth called me back to tell me she found the issue with being over charged and it would be credited to my account. She also said she would have someone call my bank and have them stop the pending $50.00. She did not, and it did not come off until I contacted my bank.

Please respond with how and why something like this can happen in your establishment! My son stayed there and slept on these sheets. This is disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach!

Nice hotel to stop and get a good rest. Excellent customer service willing to help you and answer questions that you may have. The entrance is clean and well-kept. Parking may be an obstacle unless you want to pay for valet parking.

Location is good, busy but not downtown DC busy. Several restaurants within walking. Hotel is nice but they lose a star in my opinion due to service or lack of. Simple internet problem, it was my mistake, but could have easily been confirmed by phone at front desk if they had taken the time to listen to the issue. Instead they transfer me to an internet help desk where I waited for several minutes to get a very simple fix.

It's pretty expensive for staying a single night, we checked in at around 2 am and our around 9 am. Despite the price is was located near DC and could accommodate us coming so late. The hotel looks very nice.

Stayed here for two nights. Check-in was fast. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The proximity to the courthouse and the patent office makes this hotel's location ideal. The staff I dealt with were friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Enjoyed a long weekend getaway with my partner. Great location, parking can be tricky Fri and Sat if you don't want to pay to park at the hotel. The room was large, very clean and the bed was truly heavenly. Buying the mattress soon. Enjoyed the bar and restaurant as well. Overall, just what the doctor ordered. Highly recommend.

The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Alexandria. The rooms are spacious and the common areas are clean even when big events are scheduled. There are inexpensive parking garages nearby. The hotel parking valet is expensive.

Breakfast is lovely, but not included in your stay. Andrea in restaurant is super helpful, especially with food allergies. They made my kiddo a special meal due to all his severe allergies. The rooms are great as well. Love the mini essential oil sleep potion. Actually helped me alot. Water in rooms is complimentary. Third night, housekeeping took my hand towels and didn't replace them, nor did they replace my water. I called and they gave me a little sass, but brought me up more even after I told them not to worry about it.

Let me start off by saying that I have stayed at many Westin hotels and have found them to be wonderful — but this one just didn't cut it. We arrived late, and the bed was very comfortable, but they placed us in a handicap room. Though the room was Ok, some of the furniture was banged up, but the bathroom was handicap accessible, which was not what we needed. I did go to the front desk and ask if it was a mistake and they said, no, it was the type of room that I booked. Without arguing, I stated that I chose a regular room and would rather be moved to a different room, to save the handicap room for someone who needs it. They were unable to move me, unless I wanted to pay $75 for a suite. I told them I would take the handicap room. The bathroom had no shower, which I understand, but when I shower, the entire bathroom floor would get wet, even the toilet area. After showering we would have to wear our shoes into the bathroom since the floor was soaked. It just wasn't how we pictures a Westin Hotel. Drains in the floor slowly drained. The shower had no shelf for shampoo or bathroom accessories. We ended up checking out early and heading home. I think next time we will be staying in another hotel chain.

Very nice hotel. Very clean upon arrival. Bellhops were very helpful and nice. Customer service was excellent. Check in was a breeze. Room was very clean and all the features worked in the room. Room Service was fast and good. A bit pricey but it is room service. The bed was very comfortable and the there was a very large new TV in the room with on demand.

Over sold the king rooms, so my wife and I spent our "romantic" weekend in separate beds. Catering for our group was high quality and surprisingly good. However, they didn't serve enough for our whole group to eat. Spent a lot of time waiting for more food to arrive. Hotel was very clean and well-decorated.

The location is just out of the way enough to be inconvenient, but they have a shuttle to somewhat make up for that. It's about a ten minute walk to the metro. The staff are generally nice and the rooms are comfortable, but for the price I would expect a little more. The small details give away the lack of real quality. The scratches on the bathroom hardware, the chunk taken out of the door, the tiny specs on the carpet in the hall that show that it hasn't been cleaned over the course of a couple of days, the coffee packets that are the wrong size for the coffee machine. It's just a lack of attention to detail that makes me not want to stay again. It was a pleasant and quiet stay, but I can get that from a Holiday Inn Express.

Very pretty hotel, was attending a wedding vendor showcase there for the city of Alexandria. Location is nice, and the overall look and feel of the hotel was pretty as well. Restroom is on 2nd floor, which was a little inconvenient but not awful. Valet parking was $10, also less expensive than most hotels I've visited. Would come check this place out as a guest in the future.

The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. Hotel itself was clean and our room was noticeably updated. Trademark restaurant is attached, has nice beer selection as was as food choices. I had the crab cake Benedict, it was very good although it came alone… could've used potatoes. Only issue was valets were slow, but it was a busy holiday weekend.

I've stayed here several times and have liked each stay. They have some of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, the rooms are always clean and well maintained, and the bathrooms are in above average condition. I'd have no issues recommending this place to anyone. Perfect for a reception or a meeting with its many rooms of various sizes for those events.

Very well run hotel. Professional and extremely helpful staff. Decent restaurant. Food from kitchen was fresher than most hotels. Rooms are clean and fresh. The shower does not work properly though.

Great location adjacent to both a Metro station and Old Town Alexandria. Very friendly and capable staff, with clean, comfortable rooms. The parking can be steep if using the valet/garage, but street parking is available and free in the evenings/overnight. Definitely worth a stay and rather reasonable in price during the winter/early spring.

The property and service were exceptional. Definitely up to my travel standards. The only negative feedback I would have is that wife I was not included in the room rate and they wanted to charge an additional $8 to access the internet. I did book using a promotional website so it's possible it was not included in the rate I received. I would definitely stay there the next time I'm in Washington.

We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. We booked through a discount site and the rate was great. A quick recap: The staff was efficient, professional and courteous. The lobby was conservative modern and clean, in spite of a good deal of activity during our visit. The room had two queens, which was our presence. The bed and pillows were a tad too hard for my tastes. The outlets for devices was adequate. TV was a flat screen LG of adequate size. There was free Wi-Fi, but it definitely was on the weak side of service we've been offered elsewhere.

Staff was very welcoming. A baby was with our group and they were very good at accomodating any needs/issues concerning her. Plenty of restaurants walking distance to the location which is very convenient for us. Shuttle and bus stops close by to easily get around and a short walk to the train station which was ideal.

The Westin is located in the heart of Alexandria's newer developments. I was there for a conference, and the main room we used can easily accommodate several hundred people. Also, the food provided by the hotel was excellent (perhaps because the conference was about nutrition and cancer). The staff was extremely helpful and polite!

The Westin hotel in Alexandria. Apparently, they have a continuing problem with the hot water and boiler. Not having hot water for a morning shower can be a major deficiency for a hotel. Also, the lock on my door did not work. A nice hotel restaurant. No pool. Decent work out area. Very comfortable beds and refrigerators in room.

Modern, aesthetically pleasing accomodations. Superb customer service. Excellent restaurant in hotel with exceptional service. I don't know her name, but the girl with longer, brown hair, was phenomenal. She was so helpful and made it very clear I was a priority, even though I was picking up food to go that time — (this was on 10.16.17, hopefully her manager sees this! )

Great location, excellent staff, comfortable and clean rooms. If you come in from the metro or the Amtrak station, use the hotel's free shuttle. Great place for an event. Plenty of good places to eat within walking distance, but the hotel restaurant-bar was excellent for snacks, drinks, and brunch.

I visited the Westin as part of a work event held in the conference rooms. Overall the experience with the hotel was mediocre. First the good: The rooms looked good, they provided water, and the chairs were comfortable, food was ok to good, and the bathrooms looked good. The bad: the trash cans in the bathroom needed to be emptied, the employees were not nice (we were served food, one employee started taking away plates from a serving table where people were lined up and stated 'go to the other table and walked off), there was not enough food (the company knew the attendance and ordered accordingly…), drink choices were sprite or coke, employees were not around to provide assistance, there were hardly any outlets for computer/phone charging, parking is expensive ($15 for day) or street if you can find it but then beware Alexandria meter maids… Overall the experience was much less than satisfying. I am sure there are much better places to hold company functions. I would only choose the Westin if they were the low cost provider by a significant margin.

Nice West End very comfortable beds really nice showers restaurant is incredibly slow don't eat breakfast there if you want to get out before noon. Really nice gym but no pool.

No free Wi-Fi. Hidden fees and charges everywhere if your not careful and read the fine print. Even the "free" breakfast isn't free. If you stay here be very careful and watch for hidden charges. Did not like the valet. They were pushy and rude and stared at me like I was an alien when I asked questions about my car and its location. $34 a night to park at the hotel as a guest… absurd. Front desk clerk was okay… at least he was not rude. Would not be my first choice to stay here again for future trips. Very disappointed.

I attended a festival at the Westin and the hotel seemed to have all the amenities. Plenty of open space for movement and accommodations for lighting and sound. The I stayed in a double bed room with a friend and the beds were comfy and the bathroom was spacious and accommodating. Overall a nice place to stay, if you like hotels.

Very nice hotel and cleanly. We're staying here for a conference event so we're mostly in the hotel all day using 7 of the conference rooms. Not many amenities though, and the restaurant closes for food at 11. There aren't many places around the hotel to grab food, especially no late night stuff. There's a whole foods within walking distance but no microwave at the hotel for hot meals. If you're coming here on business and are mobile I would recommend this hotel!

We came to the Alexandria area this weekend and stayed at the westin Friday and Saturday night. We booked a room with two beds. When we got to the hotel we were checked in and given a room key only to find out that the room only had one bed. We went back downstairs and notified them and were then moved to another room. After getting settled in the room, we noticed that our refrigerator was not working. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and had a cake and drinks that needed to kept cold. We called maintenance and were told someone would up shortly. The maintenance man came up and said the refrigerator would need to thaw and that he would be back in about 45 minutes to recheck everything. We went on about our day and came back to the room over two hours later and he had not come back to fix it. My husband, who happens to be an apartment maintenance technician, ended up having to fix it but by this time, the cake was already ruined. We had to run out and purchase another cake and were late to our dinner reservation because of this. We had to wait almost two hours for a table. When we did finally return to the hotel for the night, the room next to us was extremely loud. We were at the very end of the hallway and you could hear the guests from the elevator. As it got later and later, I finally went outside the room to ask them to be quiet.

Very friendly staff. Beds are very comfortable. Water pressure not amazing but around average for a hotel. One really nice feature is that they'll rent you a set of workout clothing for your stay if you forgot to bring some of your own. The exercise room is well equipped and managed and has a great view. The beer selection at the hotel bar is varied and the drafts focus on local craft beers.

We booked a King room. When we checked in the hotel told us there wasn't a king room available and we would have to stay in a double room instead. After talking to the manager she gave us the room key to a King room that wasn't even finished being cleaned yet! The cleaning lady was still in the room making the beds and taking trash out of the room while we were taking showers. We had reservations for my birthday dinner we were trying to make so this was completely inconvenient to have housekeeping still cleaning a room we were already given the key to. Mind you we checked in around 7:30PM. Totally unacceptable and unexpected from a Westin Hotel. Definitely put a sour taste in our mouths about booking another stay at this hotel chain.

I would have given 4 stars however I had several issues with my stay. 1. I never got the code for free Wi-Fi and was never told that I was supposed to receive one until I was on my SPG app and found out because I booked online, I was supposed to get one. Wasn't very happy about that.
2. Water pressure in the sink was awful. First there was none. After maintenance came up to fix it, the water spewed everywhere. There was no happy medium.
3. Water in the tub was not dra…ining out properly when taking a shower. After maintenance came to "fix" it, it still didn't drain out properly.
4. Pillows were terrible. Woke up my first day with a sore neck.
5. The buffet had a good variety but all the meat was pork. Just wondering why, in this day and age, would they not have a non pork option. The waiter gave me turkey sausage for no charge. That was a plus.
6. Check out, what can I say? They screwed up my reservation. My confirmed reservation had me confirmed for 3 nights, at check out I was told I should have checked out on the 12th to which I pulled out my confirmed reservation which showed check out on the 13th. My response, "this is the 13th isn't it? " Was inconvenienced because I had to give CC info again and it took time away from my schedule. I think I should have received SPG points for the inconvenience. Overall not happy with my hotel experience. It's really a nice hotel but they need to do better.

Here with my school for a trip to D. C. The room was simply too cramped — — a queen bed and a tiny couch for 3 people. There should have been two beds, but I suppose its at the fault of my school and not the hotel. You have to pay extorbitant prices for the Wi-Fi, and I didn't even bother checking how much TV costs. As I write, I am at the breakfast buffet. The orange juice is sour and very pulpy — usually I love pulp in my orange juice, but this has such an odd texture and taste that I just can't drink it. The water, according to my friends, "tastes like sewer water". The eggs are rubbery, the potatoes are mushy, and the cereal tastes like it's been stale for months. The only good things about this hotel are the breakfast sausages and the free lotion that comes in the room.

I came to The Westin Alexandria earlier this week because I was attending a wedding. Im a makeup artist and did an on-site service for the bride and her bridesmaids. I cannot comment or review this hotel based on an overnight stay since I was only there during the day of the wedding, but I can say that the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful upon my arrival. The hotel was extremely clean and staff were everywhere. The bride stayed in the Presidential Suite which is very large and spacious. Fantastic view as well. Room service was called a few times during my visit and they were very quick on their feet. Overall, it was a great experience and I wasn't even an overnight guest. I would definitely stay at this hotel.

Good location in Alexandria, good enough food and pleasant staff as with most SPG hotels. However one employee at the restaurant seemed stressed and rude. I'm sure it was an outlier but I did not enjoy that. Recommended if you choose to not stay on dc proper.

It was clean, comfortable, the shower felt luxurious, and I really appreciated the bathrobe.

Clean and bright, well-maintained facilities. The service staff can be a bit slow out of the gate, but they're friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, bright and well decorated. The restaurant is a bit hit or miss but having the bar onsite is convenient. The front desk will tell you that there is a Starbucks 'on-site' but it's actually around the corner on the same block and doesn't open until 7am on the weekends, I'm not sure what time it opens during the week. The breakfast was underwhelming and overpriced. Considering there are plenty of other options in the area, it might be worth exploring a different spot to dine in the morning. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Conference rooms were good size, catering was very good. Ready to configure environment which was able to handle around 200 people with ease.

The hotel is beautiful. It is clean, nicely decorated, a comfortable temperature and just an overall pleasant experience. The hotel staff is extremely friendly, and the pool/gym/hot tub areas are well maintained and great for a winter night.

My girlfriend and I stayed here yesterday to go to a show at the Carlyle Club across the street. We love staying at this hotel because it's clean, attractive, and has great views. I highly recommend couples to stay a night and go see a show across the street.

We had our Holiday party there again this year and it was fantastic. Didn't stay in the rooms but the service and food was great.

We've stayed at Westin Alexandria numerous times since 2008 and haven't been disappointed yet. The facility is rather new but is beginning to show signs of deterioration. Minor interior updates are needed, such as wallpaper, paint, etc. Service has been very good each time however at our last visit no one delivered additional towels as requested. Overall we'd recommend this hotel and will return in the future.

Overall a nice hotel. I stayed here to attend a conference hosted in the hotel. Very convenient shuttle to old town locations and places nearby. The hotel room doors are loud and most of the people staying in rooms near me didn't bother to close their doors with consideration of this, but let the doors slam shut each time they came and went. I swear the woman at check in told me the hotel had complimentary Wi-Fi that didn't require a code but I never found that to be the case. I was generally too busy with conference activities to inquire further and the conference hosts had a conference Wi-Fi code so it wasnt a big deal for me. I didn't order room service or dine in the hotel restaurant, but did eat lunch during the conference event where the hotel provided the food and it was delicious. Found the $5 voucher incentive to not have your room tended everyday a nice idea, but didn't consistently get a voucher even though I followed directions to do so. I found this to be the case for other conference attendees as well. Not a big deal for me either, but might be for others. I would stay here again because I did really like the convenience of the shuttle, and the rooms were nice (bathrooms were decently sized and shower was spacious with good, steady water flow and temp. If you're looking for a breathtaking view, the location of the hotel isn't really ideal for this.

Hubby and I have stayed here at lease 5 times over the last five years. We love it, that's why we keep coming back. Everyone who has attended to us has been very professional. The rooms were always clean, and housekeeping was attentive. Parking could some times be a problem, but it never ruin our trip.

Perfect location near metro for an amazing 4th of July weekend in DC area. Friendly, helpful front desk and valet staff (really appreciated the umbrella service upon our arrival…rainy night! ) Our room was lovely, clean and quiet despite the hotel being at capacity, and the beds were just what we needed after busy days touring the monuments and museums. We appreciated the in room fridge and coffee to help make our multi-day stay quite comfortable for our family. Well done, we'd love to come back sometime if we can get another great deal (outside of our usual price range otherwise. )

People should accept that some people don't like fancy hotels and its in a rustic town and just except that. You always dont need a fancy hotel.

Is it a 4 star Hotel? I am not certain perhaps just 3? The rooms are nothing special just Hotel rooms. I did like the service I got. From the room service to the valet they all did a great job. I could not pinpoint what the issue was here. I think the atmosphere is what was off. I did like the Restaurant at the Hotel the "Trademark drink and eat". Bartenders did also great and food was great too. Kitchen closes at 11pm.

Relaxing serene experience.

Stayed here when my apartment flooded. Absolutely fabulous hotel. Beautiful foyer and beautiful exterior, easy access to the metro and they have shuttles too. Attached is an awesome bar called trademark. Those with access to the concierge floor will find a well stocked and maintained escape run by one of the nicest people I have ever met. I had to keep extending my stay and each time I talked to the front desk they knew who I was and what happened. Incredibly polite and helpful, I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.

Disappointing. I was expecting much more from a 4 star hotel. The room and bathroom were both very clean. That was the best part of my stay. The worst part about this hotel was the management. It seems that nobody working there has a clear idea of what is actually going on and it was impossible to get a straight answer from anyone. For example, we were charged a $50 holding fee twice, and when we inquired about it, we got two different answers. One response was that it was in case we stole anything, and the other response was that it was to cover anything like room service (? ). The fee was eventually not charged to our account upon checkout, but that in itself seemed shady. Again, nobody could tell us exactly what was going on. We were also told by management that we could utilize street parking for free instead of the valet parking (saving us about $26/night) which was the ultimate reason why we chose this hotel. However, we were still given a ticket. When we tried to contact the hotel, Westin staff was uninterested in this problem that they helped to create. We had a question about paying with Wi-fi and called the front desk who then told us we had to physically go to the front desk to resolve the issue. When we went to the front desk, we were then told that they couldn't resolve it right then at the front desk, but it was rather an issue to bring up at checkout. It felt like we were being sent in circles to resolve any small inquiry or issue.

We had a room with a view supposedly but not much to see but roof tops. It was a long walk to the elevators. We asked for 2 double beds but got a king with a cot. The maid did not know how to make up the cot bed and to cover the old blanket with a sheet. Tthe toilet was clogged right as we all had to go to graduation but was fixed within the hour. There was a constant shortage of towels and pillows. The room service and housekeepers were accommodating. The food was good in the casual restaurant in lobby but the place was loud at all times of the day. The hotel rooms need to be refurbished.

Definitely not a four star hotel. Not worth the money. Never staying here again. During my 3 night stay the maids NEVER replaced the toiletries. I had to ask for more shampoo and conditioner every morning. The towels smelled funny, pool is the size of a puddle, lights flickered constantly, always a 20-30 minute wait for the complimentary shuttle. There is only one and it will only take you within 2 miles of the hotel. I know I could have gotten a better hotel closer to DC for the same price.

The facility is pretty nice and the location is fantastic. HOWEVER, they have a wonderful way of making you feel unappreciated with their extra money-making schemes. I did not appreciated being charged for Wi-Fi or the crazy rates they have think is appropriate in the business center. Congratulations Westin on getting an extra $75 out of me, but I will be giving my business to someone else next time. Another brilliant short-sighted corporate idea.

I've stayed here ~35 nights over the past 18 months, so I have a wealth of experience at this location. Avoid this hotel if possible. Rooms: Furnishings are normal for a Westin, but there is a surprising amount of room noise. From your bed, you can hear the sounds of pigeons and other guests' bathroom activities and conversations through the vents. Cleanliness: Bathroom towels/cloths frequently go unchanged. Have found clothing items belonging to previous guests in my own room after checking in. Parking: This is abysmal. The facility has a very small parking area, and few valets to service it. I have waited over 40 minutes for my car in the morning. If you call down to request your car and then head downstairs 10m later, the valets frequently are not aware of your request; you must ask them personally, at which point they fetch the vehicle. Executive Lounge: Poorly stocked, and the smell of cigarette smoke is often profound. Restroom: Shower water temperatures vary more than normal due to water usage of other guests. Higher floors experience this to a greater degree than lower floors. If you must stay at a Westin in this area, drive a few miles East and stay at National Harbor.

The management is terrible and the bedding was not clean. At first glance, it appears like a nice fancy hotel, but don't be fooled: your money will be better spent at any of the other nicer hotels in Alexandria. The rooms were acceptable, but when I tried to leave the hotel the valet locked my keys in my car with the car running. Instead of offering to do anything to help the huge inconvenience, they all stood around there and waited while I called my AAA and fixed it myself. I was delayed by over an hour, used up an hour of gas, didn't have access to any of my things, and waited in the lobby for over 45 minutes and the only thing I was offered was a coffee. None of my emails have been responded to and the management clearly was not worried about my experience with the hotel. Additionally, the bedding was stained and you are given very little amenities with the overpriced cost. No Wi-Fi, no breakfast, overpriced water in the rooms, and no working fridge. You can find other hotels in this area with better customer service, provided breakfasts, and cleaner rooms. I will NOT be returning here.
