Definitely the cleanest, most well maintained budget friendly hotel we have stayed in during our long road trip. The beds are surprisingly comfortable and the linens are soft. Don’t let the outside of the hotel fool you. The inside is completely updated.

My family & I enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly & very professional. The hotel was very clean and the appearance was nice. The beds were comfortable. There is a microwave & a refrigerator, which is a plus for me. Located in a convenient area near where I needed to be. I will stay here again when I visit.

Good stay for us overnite. Only suggestion: Door locks need to be reinforced. Lock did not line up with door jam to provide a safe and secure environment. Also door needed to be rehung as we could see the light from the hall all the way around!

Very courteous staff at reception. Hot water for shower all the time. Shower drainage great. (It is an issue at most of the hotels). Enough towels for the whole family in the room. Overall clean and comfortable.

Overall, nice place. Hall carpets are old and filthy. If you're just sleeping, it's a decent place to stay. Not much to do here. No pool or outdoor social area. If you're in a wheelchair, find another hotel. The main and only entrance is dangerous and near impossible to maneuver. A death trap, for sure. Ridiculously steep!

Greetings representative, please take this critique for what it is worth. • When I checked in, the first room they gave me had a 14” x 14” hole in the wall that was covered by a plate. When I arrived and closed the door, due to the vibration the plate’s glue failed and came down. It would stick when attempted to apply it to the wall. In addition, the TV would not accept the code for the premium channels. They gave me a 2nd room. • When I entered it, I saw a plastic zip lock bag and used towel on the bed, a pillow used as a cushion on the recliner and an ironing board and iron out as a result from being used (obviously an in – house employee used the room). They gave me a 3rd room. • When I entered it, 1 of 3 bathroom bulbs were blown, the telephone did not work and the tub looked dirty due to the lining of the tub needed to be changed. Great shower head (water pressure and dispersion)! • There was no newspaper available on the premises (in the lobby). • When I went to the workout room, most of the machines were facing the wrong direction as it relates to the TV. A few machines faced the TV but if someone were on a few machines that did not face the TV, you would be in the way of the viewer. The fitness center had no water and no towels on the towel rack. • When I went to breakfast, for 2 of the 6 days I stayed, there was no butter available in the field, just margarine. I recommend turkey patties instead of pork patties as some people do not eat pork.

I was there. For a training meeting! Hospitality at the finest. The manager is absolutely wonderful! Keep up the great job!

Not impressed stayed here last week on Tuesday I believe for $99 came back this week and the room doubled in price $200 oddly the same room 126. But this time the floor was wet from a/c unit to the bed. I was tired so just went to bed. Next morning made complaint and was basically told by the Manager too bad. Will find new camping spot on my return in 2 weeks. Double the price for a lesser room doesn't make sense to me.

4 stars for it being quiet and great customer service. I did have dirty furniture in my room and I had to wipe down a night stand because there was a sticky substance on it.

The Best Western was extremely clean… breakfast was really very good much to my surprise. The only reason why it received a 4 star and not a 5 was because the tub was stopped up and I notice there was no ventilation in the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We go to Virginia twice to three times a year. And each time that we've went the hotel has been upgraded and looks very lovely and comfortable to stay in I won't stay no place else.

The room was ok; good water pressure on the shower. The door to our room didn't close correctly, and had to be slammed in order to clear the jamb. Only the 1st and 3rd floors had ice machines, which was annoying since we were on the 2nd, but room had decent-sized fridges. The breakfast they offered was fine, I guess. Pretty standard continental breakfast circa 1995. Overall impression was that the hotel was doing the minimum necessary to get by, but didn't cut any important corners. Solid 2 star place.

It's a very nice hotel. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The Wi-Fi was strong with plenty of bandwidth for streaming Netflix. Breakfast offered many options pancakes, waffles, eggs, ham, biscuits, cereals, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee, etc. I would definitely recommend this Best Western.

Great value, clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close enough to multiple restaurants and easy access to the Huntington Metro station.

The renovation was really nice and rooms were pleasant. Coffee machines were amazing and breakfast was phenomenal. Front desk everyone and morning was quite pleasant.

Booked our room online only a few hours before check-in. The staff was friendly, courteous, and made our stay as comfortable as possible. The free breakfast was decent. Thanks for the good night’s sleep.

Many buses of children visiting the area were staying… Breakfast staff was overwhelmed, seemed to keep up ok but seating area was maxed out. As a business traveler, needed a quick breakfast and had to go elsewhere.

I originally booked with Expedia which was a Terrible idea, and caused a little bump in the road for me (which was Expedia’s fault and inability to explain and provide thorough information). However, the wonderful young man working the front desk and a women (I think the manager) took amazing care of me and was so kind and humbling. The workers care about your stay and your comfort and I will have to say, the service, help, and comfort I got from the workers was THE BEST service I have EVER received. I highly recommend booking with this hotel… TODAY!

Clean hotel, good food and parking set up. There is only 1 door to access the inside with, which is odd. Most hotels have side or back doors you can use to get inside. The food and internet were good but the manager is extremely rude and one of the workers texted my phone talking about penises and whatnot… Very creepy.

Fantastic customer service. Hotel was clean, breakfast was seriously lit! The area had many places to eat and shop. But their were tiny maintenance issues. Phone to call the front desk didn't work and then one of the lamps wouldn't come on. But the main reason for the 3 star rating was the water. It was sputtering when I tried to turn on the hot water then it would come out Brown. I let it run out until it was clean again, but my husband didn't notice and brushed his teeth with it lol. Otherwise it was nice and quiet for a Valentine's Day stay.

The motel was in the process of upgrading the rooms including flooring and furniture (by the time you read this it will be completed! ). While the room we reserved was already upgraded we were allowed to use a suite that had not yet been redone at the same price to meet our special needs. The location near Mt. Vernon and Fort Belvoir is strategic for both visitors and local residents needing space for family and visitors.

We love the Best Western Hotel on Richmond Highway in Alexandria VA. This hotel is not far from DC and other attractions. This is our 3rd stay with them, since our son and family are living in this area. We have always been treated very well, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the bed (s) are so comfortable, we fall fast asleep as soon as we hit the pillows. The breakfast is always delicious… which is included with your stay. Love the waffles… nothing like a warm breakfast… and if you don't want the usual eggs, bacon etc… they have toast, muffins etc, plus hot oatmeal and also cold cereal… as well as juices, tea and coffee. Even thou, you are on Richmond Highway, the hotel itself is very quiet, you don't hear any of the traffic. You also don't hear other guests once you are in your room. Overall we recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Alexandria area.

Clean and comfy, breakfast was great! Some noises drilling but it didn't last long. Staff were friendly and attentive. Parking was tight but available. A bench out front would be nice:)

I stayed here with my group and the front desk that night was not friendly won't assist me because I drove a bus and asked where to park. Was told to park way in back with no entry to hotel from there I'm a female and that's to late and dark for a woman to walk back by themselves didn't even say I will come with u and it was to men at desk. 10/6-8/17 need to have better PARKING for buses if u want us to keep bring guest. Other than no pool so kids could get in the room was nice.

The worst hotel experience that I have ever had. We stayed here September 1-4, 2017 in room 225-A. Our Authorization was held in my bank account and was returned on the day of check-out. However, when we went to check out, my card was declined twice even though it had enough money to clear. My friend was able to pay with his credit card, which was fine, but then when I checked my bank account to try to figure out why my card was declined, I saw that the hotel had charged me with a separate charge, a different amount from the original total. When we asked for an explanation from the staff, they told us that they didn't know why the charge was there because my card had already been declined. I asked to speak to a manager, and they called the manager, who would not come out to speak with us, and simply told the staff to tell us that it was another "authorization" charge, and that it would be refunded within 4-15 business days. We make minimum wage, and cannot afford to pay for a hotel room twice, especially when one of those charges is for a different amount than the original room total that we agreed to pay. Every time that we have called the hotel, we have not been given an explanation, and have been told that the amount will be refunded within 15 business days.

Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Maintence didn't fix a problem with the room safe being locked and inoperable on check in when reported. They did come by at 630 pm and spend 45 minutes in the room banging on the pipes behind the shower for unknown reasons. Thought they were there to fix the safe which is at the same location.

Friendly front desk. Good Hot breakfast, eggs, bacon, biscuits, potatoes, waffles. Along with cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, donuts, etc. They had something for everyone. Rooms were clean, had fridge and microwave. Beds were comfy. I definitely recommend this hotel. Very convenient to Mount Vernon and about a 20 min car ride to DC.

The gentleman named Stacie at the front desk was so helpful during our stay. He helped us tremendously with transportation and was so pleasant to work with. Breakfast was super, not the average "mystery meat" continental breakfast. Only thing lacking was benches or sitting area outside. Overall, a great stay, highly recommended.

Our family highly recommends this Best Western. The employees and management really care about making sure visitors have a comfortable stay. They made us feel like we were part of their family. We can't thank the manager Marcus and the outstanding employees like Otis enough for saving our family's vacation which was almost ruined by an unexpected cancelation from another hotel. Best Western Mount Vernon genuinely cares about customers. In addition to the helpful staff, the facilities are clean and comfortable. They offer a large selection with their free breakfast each morning including eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, mini donuts, juices, waffles, an awesome coffee machine that makes lattes, cappuccinos, hot chocolate and more. The location is great too because it's close enough to easily visit DC, but nice and calm as it is away from the crowds. We ended up using the public bus right outside the hotel to get to the metro every morning. Of course it is especially close to Mount Vernon. We took a bus and got there within 15 minutes. There are convenient restaurants and stores close by including the Dollar Tree, McDonalds, Little Caesars, and several other restaurants next door and across the street. We would definitely stay at Best Western Mount Vernon again!

This hotel was spotlessly clean, although the bathroom showed a bit of wear around the edges (scuffed baseboards and the like). The breakfast was quite good (the waffles in particular were very good). I have no real complaints about this hotel, but I do have to say that having the manager (or the person I took to be the manager as I later saw him behind the front desk) standing just outside the front door in the morning smoking a cigarette doesn't exactly set the right tone.

The breakfast was great! My kids were so excited to have strawberry syrup and whipped cream to go with their waffles. The proximity to Mt. Vernon was also excellent. The room was clean and comfortable for the price.

Nice rooms with renovations underway in public spaces of the hotel. Breakfast buffet is awesome — excellent selection. Staff were friendly. Coffee station was out of stirrers several times during our stay, but that was minor. Lots of parking but most is in the back. Good chicken place — Su Polo — right next door. Shopping plazas just across the street. Tough to exit onto Rt 1 going south at times.

Room was adequate but had a must smell to it. In fairness, there are some renovation notices around, but I didn't notice any renovations. There is a nice coffee bar downstairs (complimentary! ) And the breakfast is nice. There is also a fitness center but I didn't use it. All of the staff were nice and had no major problems during the stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the immediate area. Room availability was great for non reservation, breakfast was excellent, rooms were immaculate and we'll stocked and rates were very reasonable. I would stay there again if I'm in the parts again. I 100% recommend it to anyone that wants quality stay at a hotel.

Very basic compared to the candlewood inn next door. Very accommodating, there was a bathroom problem in my room and they moved me to a suite for no charge.

The furniture was chewed looking in our original room. The tub ended up leaking and flooding half the room. The front desk was awesome about finding a new room for us for the rest of our stay. Overall a good experience.

Beds were fine, room was adequate. TV was decent. But in this day and age, many of us rely on Wi-Fi for things we need in our lives and the Wi-Fi here is 1994 speeds. I tested the connection and it was 13.3 kbps one night. 13k speeds?! Really?! I had to use my phone data for my entire stay. Pretty weak, Best Western. Get with it.

Great room for a family of five. Breakfast was ok but free so you can't ask for much and the fitness center was small for a guy who enjoys working out.

You know it's a bad sign with the lobby chairs are so disgusting that the top half of them are discolored. I mean that's the part everyone sees so if you don't care about that just imagine the rooms. One of the most grossly neglected hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff are so unfriendly it's like watching dead lice fall. Which by the way wouldn't be surprising considering how nasty everything is. Hotel management should be embarrassed to have their name associated with anything so poorly managed. Lamps were burned out, room service barged in room when the do not disturb sign was on, waited 15 min at desk and when the guy arrived he said no apology just acted like we woke him up. Pass BIG time on this one.

THIEVES! Whatever you accidentally leave in your room even if it's just socks or a piece of costume jewelry they will STEAL it and tell you they didn't find anything. Save your time and pay for a decent hotel that is run by honest people.

Very frustrated with the hotel. Working near by and need a nice place to stay. Reserved 4 rooms for multiple weeks and they refused to work with us. We had scheduling changes and needed to change reservations (day of) and unwilling to bend on anything. I am a diamond member and stayed at best westerns across the country for work and the staff at this hotel is not very friendly and not very helpful. I told them I could take my money and business elsewhere and they didn't seem to care. Really surprised and frustrated with the staff and particularity the manager. They have the opinion that this is how it is and we don't care. BTW they have to strangest cancellation policy of any best western ever. You have to cancel the day before the reservation by 4pm. Are you serious?

I have stated at this hotel on several different occasions now and it is not a quality place to spend a night. For the rates you pay at this hotel their are far superior locations nearby. The beds sag so much ide have a flatter bed laying in a hammock. There is mild in several locations. I have not eaten the breakfast as I would be afraid to given the mold. During my most recent visit the staff was completely unconcerned with customer service having waited over 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. All and all there are much better locations for your health and wallet in the area.

Disgusting! We booked 2 nights here 9/24/15 and 9/25/15. Our first room was room 204, which smelled awful. I've never smelled a rotting corpse before but room 204 is what I imagine one would smell like. We were switched to room 220 after a trip to the front desk. The second room smelled much better so we put our luggage in it and went out. We got back somewhere between 1-2 am and started to settle in when we noticed black mold growing down the walls, prominently above the bed! I went to grab my phone to take photos before going to the front desk to ask for another room change. The guy at the desk was one of the rudest hotel employees I've encountered. Apparently there's a specific time that you're supposed to notice mold growing on your hotel room walls? He seemed more concerned about why we were just noticing the mold at 1:30am than there actually being mold on the walls! So after the front desk people huffed and puffed about moving us we were put in room 219 which has an A/C unit that sounds like a train and has a musty smell. It should go without saying that we canceled our second night here and are opting for a Marriott. This place is GROSS! Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

This was THE worst experience. The staff and the MANAGER are just rude and clearly dont care about their guests. The room smelled like something died in it. The bedding was just disgusting. It is more like an hourly hotel instead the of "newly renovated" "upscale" place. If this is renovated, I hate like heck to see what it was before. If this is better, OMG! They should have investing in getting rid of the bed bugs and the mold. They charged our credit card WAY more then we were quoted. When we questioned them about it, they out right lied and claimed they did tell us that price, when in FACT they did NOT.

Place just has a weird smell, as soon as you walk through the door. They only clean what they see.

We booked 3 rooms through expidia. Once we arrived we started having issues with the hotel service. The manager said that that was what happened when you used a third party to book at the hotel. That answer is unacceptable since the hotel is the one providing the service and shuttle service, wether I booked through a third party or not, they should provide quality service and care for their customer satisfaction instead of blaming the customer. The issues: one of the rooms had a leak in the roof that wet one of the beds. The first shuttle service we asked for never arrived because the person at the front desk before leaving took the sheet off and the person of the next turn didn't know. Therefore we had to wait for 40 minutes more for the shuttle to arrive. Once he arrived we noticed it took him so long to get there because he had stop for food (the shuttle said no eating drinking or smoking). Once in the hotel the driver didn't even bother to help us open the door to get out. The house keeping didn't finish cleaning the room and left everything a mess half way. When we checked out three days earlier (today) and we expressed all to the manager after she asked why we were leaving, she practically blamed it un us for booking through expedia. So in othwr words if you don't book directly with them you will get a crappy service and you can't complain because their bad service is all your fault and you are to blaim. P. S. Book somewhere closer since the hotel is very very far.

This hotel had BED BUGS! I had over 50 bites on me and no one at the hotel ever even asked how I was doing or what they could do for me. The manager emailed me and let me know that my room would be refunded and that was all. Bad customer service and very dirty and old rooms! Don't stay here.

I was there Oct 14 — Oct 19 2014. I enjoyed my stay there. Room and establishment was clean. Complimentary Wi-Fi and cable as advertised. Located on a main artery leading into DC, Ft. Belvoir and Alexandria. DC traffic is heavy. Complimentary breakfast every morning was sufficient. Good coffee machines are accessible 24 hours daily. The parking lot was safe enough. Ft Belvoir is roughly two miles south on the same highway as the hotel. Old town Alexandria is within five or six miles north on the same highway. King street in Old town has a great quaint shopping area. The nightlife was great too. Plenty restaurants nearby. Had a slight problem with the day clerk upon arrival though. She was indifferent to our requests. Called the corporate office. They responded immediately. Overall good experience.

The moment I walked in I was hit with a wave of musty and something else that I still can't quite place. Even from the outside there was no facade to hide what was inside. Judge a book by its cover on this Best Western and avoid at all cost. The entire facility felt dirty and had an odor to it. Bed was also not comfortable. My Verizon 4G signal was also very weak in here.

Friendly and efficient staff, quick with a smile and a hello. Room was clean and accomodating. Internet service was adequate and they provided a house computer as well. Breakfast was plentiful and dining area was large (not cramped like some other hotels). Overall would recommend stay here to business colleagues and friends.

When I got into my room, the first 3 things I touched were sticky. I swear the towels in the bathroom were damp. Hopefully they've been washed and not damp from drying the previous occupant's butt crack. The internet connection does indeed suck. The bathroom fixtures were updated and pretty nice. Nice big dorm fridge, too. This is one of those places where you don't want to take your shoes off. It's not cheap, either.
