Staff was very friendly and room was very clean. When I made my reservation online, the site said that the queen suite accommodates 3 people (I entered 2 adults and 1 child). I even called the toll free number and double checked. I was told that the room has a sleeper sofa. I figured it was a loveseat sized sleeper sofa. We got there an hour before check-in. I went in and asked if we could check in early. The woman working said that if we wanted to check in now, we'd have to take a room on the first floor because she was the only one working and hadn't had time yet to inspect the rooms on the other floors. That was fine with us since we were only staying for one night. We got to our room and there was no sleeper sofa. One bed and a broken recliner. I went up to the desk and explained what I was told I would get. She said being that I called the toll free number and not their actual location, I was misinformed because this is the smallest Candlewood in the country. And, they only have two types of suites: one queen bed or two queen beds. She upgraded us to the 2 beds and informed me that this was an upgrade that usually costs more, but being that I was misinformed, she wouldn't charge me. Okay, thank you! She told me that since I prepaid for the room with a debit card, they would put a $10 hold on my checking account for incidentals. Fine, no problem. We get to our room and as nice and clean as it was, it was 2 FULL size beds, not queens.

I stopped in there to use the facilities as we were traveling. I spent at least 20 minutes talking to staff. They were extremely helpful and amazingly friendly. I would definitely stay there if the opportunity arose.

We stayed two nights while we were in town for Rolling Thunder, this is a very nice hotel, clean, well stocked, laundry facilities and the staff were very courteous and friendly, yes we will stay here again.

It's what to expect at a Candlewood. Note to remember this is not a Hilton or Marriot. However, it was a decent experience with pleasant staff and fairly clean rooms.

This particular visit was not great. We were supposed to stay here with a large group. About 9 families. Visiting the area. Unfortunately, something happened with the reservation and outmrs was not in there. (we ALWAYS stay here when we visit) so we were kinda bummed that there was no rooms available for us. (although a few ppl that did make reservations couldn't come. So there SHOULDVE been some rooms that opened up? ) Anyway… normally, the rooms are very nice, nice staff, clean. There is no breakfast available.

Very beautiful, woman at the front desk very helpful. I booked online and apparently the room I booked was already sold out no worries she fixed the issue without breaking a sweat. Would stay here again so fast my son loves it also their market in the lobby was a great touch for midnight munchies. Very satisfied with my stay!

Great staff, very recently renovated rooms. This was my second stay at this hotel in that past few year and I would stay here again if back in the area.

I like this hotel for this arra. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Free washer and dryer is nice. Gym isn't to bad for a hotel. If you will be in town for an extended stay this is a good choice.

The location is close to DC, Maryland, and many surrounding attractions. The room is spacious and clean. Lots of amenities are included. Great service.

On A Business Trip And Had A Wonderful Stay Marvin At The Front Desk Was AWESOME Helped Me Every Step Of The Way.

The Candlewood Suites was a pleasant stay. Although I was not given the room with the King Bed requested (particular establishment only has two according to front desk staff), nor was a was couch in each room as expected for a Suites Hotel, it was comfortable. Parking was ample, well lit and convenient to several restaurants and shops. Good night's sleep, will do it again!

Clean enough. Maid hell bent on moving every belonging and anything I moved for my convenience. Really friendly staff and it's quiet.

Nice large rooms. Floors could use some insulation as I heard the kids soccer team above me running around at all hours of the night. Helpful and very friendly staff ready to help you out with anything you might need.

Stayed for one night and it was fine. Gym smelled very musty. Internet was a little slow. Pillows were a little dirty.

We had excellent accommodations and a very restful stay. Teshia, executive housekeeper, went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we visit.

One of the kindest experiences I have had at a hotel. They let me check into a room early after having laser eye surgery and let me stay past check out as I was waiting for my wife to arrive to continue recovery. The room was very nice and clean for a cheaper rate in the area. But, the staff was the best part.

Place is kept very clean. I would recommend a night stay if your in need of an hotel and in the area.

No restaurant inside. Slow front desk. But fast free internet :)

Pets are allowed, but it's not extremely pet friendly. The pet area and fence line was full of trash. One parking space was taken up by a car, literally full of trash. The inside stairwells smelled like cigarettes. We didn't receive the room size we reserved or a room refresh during the five days we stayed. I took the trash out everyday and went to the front desk for new supplies. Update #1: Dropped another star after discovering that the front desk changed our reservation in the system to make it look like no mistakes were made. However, in the process they removed our IHG rewards number. Now I'm going through the process of getting the five nights we stayed credited. My new summary: go somewhere else. I am switching to Marriott properties.

This place is not somewhere you want to go to relax and or "get away". I was checked into two filthy rooms, accused of smoking inside, and as well as the staff; the manager had no customer service skills. Upon check-in, the front desk clerk told me all of another guests business. Then she said they check people into dirty rooms "All the time! " Once she put me in the third room, she accused me of smoking inside and promised she would go charge my card as I slept there that night. I woke up to a gift bag at the door. As if that's compensation for being falsely accused or for having to bounce around room to room. After the manager got tired of ducking me, he called my room. He swore I was lying about the cleanliness of the rooms and that his employees/coworkers would never check someone in to a dirty room. He then offered me a late check out. I'm currently contacting corperate and my lawyer, as it was clearly a racial issue. I say that, because an older Caucasian gentleman came in and got his issues handled with no problem, but I got told I was making the nonsense up. Dont go here if you want to be treated as an equal…!

I arrived at approximately 5 PM and my room was not ready, HOWEVER the staff provided me with a significant amount of complimentary snacks and food (including hot dogs! ) for the night. I very much appreciated the high degree of customer service I was given. The facilities are practically spotless.

It was great! For $60, I'm not sure it gets much better. Clean, Wi-Fi and a clean area of town. Less than 10 minutes from Mount Vernon.

I stayed for a few nights for work. The room was immaculate. The hotel staff were extraordinarily helpful and the hotel was extremely pet friendly. I would definitely stay again.

I had an outstanding experience! I called two weeks prior to visiting the area and they were able to get me into a great room for a great price. I was greeted right away from the customer service specialist at the counter and by the manager of the hotel. The room itself was very clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The shower was nice and spacious and the kitchen area was well kept and stocked with the essentials. The only recommendation I would have is to have a complimentary breakfast and a shuttle that goes to/from the gate of Ft. Belvoir (especially being so close). Thank you to the staff for the great experience and hospitality. I will be sure to go to that hotel again whenever I'm back in that area.

Candlewood suites was really awesome about accommodating my husband's service animals! It's also a super convenient location.

Loved the room, and staff was outstanding! The main reason why I booked them was because of all nice reviews about pet friendliness and they have met my expectations. Area surrounding the hotel was also very nice. Prices are affordable and Marina was really helpful. Wi-Fi was a bit slow but I managed to do all my work.

Love this place specially the front desk girl syeda she is always fun to talk! and the gm Danielle she is very nice as well.

Hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are very modern large and clean. Only reason I do not give it five stars is there is no breakfast.

Stayed almost 1 month. Pros: -Kitchen w/ Stove, Microwave, full size fridge, dishwasher, and sink. -Free laundry area -Good gym (for a hotel), has weights, exercise balls + cardio -Free Coffee and tea 24/7 -Close to Ft. Belvoir -Really friendly/helpful people at the front desk, and also the repair guy -Free Cookies available in the evening -Dog park (if you have dogs) + free dog treats by entrance -Lending locker -Movies available at desk Cons: -No free breakfast -No Oven (Make sure the Pizza at the grocery store is microwavable…) -Internet is on the slow side, requires you to reenter a access code 2-3 times a day, and that changes weekly -House Keeping (Inconsistent, full clean is only weekly IF they do it) -No pool If you plan on staying here a short time (counter intuitive to the extended stay model) you shouldn't have any issues, if you intend to be here a while based on my experience and that of a few other reviewers (i. E. Elicia Daniels review 9 months before me) don't expect your room to be cleaned properly, more on that below. Internet Review: The internet is slow, but it works, the most annoying thing is you need this 4 digit code, which changes weekly, and you will be randomly prompted to re-enter it about 2-3 times a day, which is frustrating as your internet will just stop working, and at times you have to disconnect and reconnect to the Wi-Fi to get the login prompt up. There are many better ways to do authentication.

I agree with everyone saying the rooms were nice, but the Internet is absolutely horrid. This is an extended stay hotel off of Ft Belvoir! You would think the Internet was good enough to sustain a VPN tunnel to work. But it wasn't even decent enough to do a basic search on Google. I was booked for 20 days but moving to another suite hotel because off the internet.
