Took 45 minutes to get linens now I have been waiting for over an hour for maintenance to arrive so we have hot water in our room. Worst Marriott stay. I thought the autograph collection was supposed to be top of the line Marriott. Have been staying at Marriott for many years but will begin using Hyatt as my preferred from now on.

The new shoes that I left in the room must have fit a lucky staff member as they magically were not found.

Very accommodating! Beautiful building! Great location in Old Town! A gentleman named Gregory behind the counter was a true Saint! We had some issues prior to our arrival and he addressed our concerns with great care. I would (and have) recommend (ed) this place to everyone!

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice now and absolutely love it. The customer service is great — doormen always holding the door open when you walk out, greeted with champagne upon our arrival (we are Marriott members), free yoga class on Saturday mornings, and beautiful rooms. Will continue to stay here when we are in the area!

Gorgeous lobby and rooms — esp. The wallpaper and eccentric furniture pieces throughout! Arrived at 1am after a long journey. Cheryl at the front desk showed me such great kindness and customer service. Journeyed to the convenience store to get me a diet coke and upgraded my room-amazing! Top it off with a great breakfast at the not your typical hotel restaurant and I am one satisfied guest! Try the BELT!

My wife and I stayed one Saturday night in July for a weekend getaway. The location is outstanding, centrally located within easy walking distance of most sites and restaurants in Alexandria. The ambiance was beautiful. The staff on check-in was very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Our room (a single queen bed) was clean and comfortable. It included complimentary robes which was an unexpected bonus. The bathroom was clean. The only drawback was the room did not have an in-room coffee maker, although free coffee was available in the lobby. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would stay again for a future getaway.

We absolutely loved this place. It is such an unique place. The decor, the history, the charm of this place, the service, the amenities, everything is just exceptional. Even the breakfast which is included with the stay is great. You get to order an entree from the menu of the Jackson 20 restaurant. I would definitely stay whenever I come back to Alexandria. 10 out of 10.

If I could give zero stars I would, based in part of the lack of care this hotel exhibits to it's guests. Customer “care”: I had a series of bad experiences at the Alexandrian Autograph in Virginia June 25-28, 2018. First, I requested a King room and got a double-double, which was okay. I’m flexible. Two days of dealing with the engineering people who wanted to do work in my room while I was a guest was only the beginning. I was contacted while I was in my meetings, which was very inappropriate. I complied and made every effort to be as flexible and patient as possible; I even allowed them to move my belongings to a new room while I was away from the hotel. I was very patient with all of that but on the 3rd night I was moved to a so-called “upgraded” room, which initially seemed very nice. But, there was wet carpet outside my door, which was next to the ice machine closet and there was a very loud and obnoxious carpet-drying machine which ran into the evening. At 11 p. M. After again being patient with the noise, I decided to try to go to sleep. Before turning in, I phoned the desk and asked them to turn off the offensive machine. They would not turn it off. The machine was not only loud, but it blocked my ability to safely egress in the event of an emergency. This machine was left running all night long. It could have been moved to the other side of the ice closet, but that was too much to ask.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and it's convenience to all of Old Town. The oysters at the hotel restaurant were especially delicious and the complimentary happy hour was great! The staff was very accommodating with each of our requests. The location is a pleasant retreat yet convenient to the hustle and bustle of D. C. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and stay here again.

Ridiculously gorgeous throughout. Genuinely considerate staff. Ultra convenient to Old Town Alexandria. Stayed in their whirlpool king room and it was spacious and lovely. Hot tip: get yourself a room here on a warm summer Sunday night for cheap, park for free along the street overnight until 8am, and hit Old Town for a nice dinner and walk by the waterfront.

Quaint hotel located in the heart of Alexandria. Dog friendly (which is great if you want to bring your pet but be forewarned that you might hear barking as we did when the pet owner left the dog locked in the bathroom all night). A quick walk to dozens of shops, restaurants and the Potomac!

Seems to have gone downhill since changing from the Hotel Monaco to the Alexandrian. No door man, peeling wallpaper, our nightstand lamp was missing a bulb, huge chunk taken out of bathroom door and the elevator smelled like urine. For $300 a night I was disappointed it didn’t include a continental breakfast.

The Alexandrian Autograph Collection on King Street in Alexandria, Virginia, has always been a fan favorite of mine when visiting the Washington D. C. Area. I've stayed there several times over the last year. Conveniently located in "Old Town Alexandria" everything from specialty shops and restaurants, the waterfront, an old fashion farmers market, coffee shops, etc. Are within walking distance of The Alexandrian. My kids especially enjoyed visiting the weekend Farmers Market — apparently one of the oldest in the country. Clean and modern hotel with excellent facilities. Rooms are modern and very comfortable but do not have microwave ovens or coffee makers. Fresh coffee is available, though, in a very modern lobby. Valet parking is expensive — this is my biggest pet peeve. Friendly and polite staff — never an issue with them or an unanswered concern. When I did question the parking and valet fees, the hotel manager credited my account for the fees without complaint. Competitively priced and among the nicest of facilities in Old Town Alexandria, I wouldn't hesitate to return when visiting the area in the future. William E. Lewis Jr. Vero Beach, Florida.

Great place. Very attentive and polite staff. Location couldn't be better. The rooms were well appointed if not on the slightly smaller side. $34 for parking was a bit rough but overall I'd definitely stay here again.

The room was in great condition. The bed was comfortable as we're the pillows. The location was great for shopping, eating, and seeing the local sites. If you are on the north or shout side and play one of Niantic's augmented reality games there are locations at the East and West sides of the hotel. The staff was friendly.

A must stay for a romantic weekend! Once again another great visit. This is a great hotel that puts you in all the action in Old Town. Valet the car and forget about it. The staff is truly top notch and are the superstars. A must stay for a romantic weekend! They also have cruiser bikes for you to pedal to the National Mall or Mt Vernon.

A great hotel in the heart of old Alexandria. There are lots of restaurants and shops up and down King Street, and the waterfront is only a few blocks away. The hotel is older, but well maintained and clean. The front desk and hotel staff are very quick to respond to requests. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back the next time that we are in town!

Outstanding remodel of an Alexandria classic. Minutes from restaurants and numerous local sights. The adjacent restaurant, the Jackson 20 has done a superb job in providing excellent food in a comfortable atmosphere. Some points off for housekeeping, a slightly aloof barkeep and parking issues. Otherwise, my ‘go to’ hotel in Alexandria.

If you want to experience the history of Old Town ALEXANDRIA, VA The Alexandrian is the place to stay. Such fun and quirky decor, caring staff, and charm charm charm from every corner of the hotel. Very quiet rooms despite being centrally located on King Street, two blocks from the Potomac River. History, dining, and shopping are all within steps of the hotel entrance. By far my favorite hotel in my month long stay in the Washington, DC area.

Pet friendly. This was one of the best locations that we have stayed at all year! (And we travel at least 2 x per month). We brought our large dog, and they were wonderful, she was treated as we were! They have very stylish rooms, the beds were comfortable. The location is perfect to walk down to the water front and very near the Torpedo Factory — and some AWESOME pup-friendly restaurants!

Loved it here. We had the Loft Suite and it was amazing. The room eas clean and beautifully appointed. The service at the front desk was totally on point, they had everything ready for us. The food and drinks were exceptional at Jackson 20 off the lobby. We will definitely go back.

Cute, attractive, historical hotel. However, my cable TV kept going on and off during the morning and evenings. I stayed for four days and reported the problem everyday. First day, ignored, second day they said it would be fixed, but it wasn’t. Third day I told them I didn’t want an engineer in my room all evening and last day I gave up. The TV would go off and then come back on five minutes later, other times, I would have to turn it back on. About 10 to 20 times a days. Very annoying. The shower fixture was broken. The staff acted helpful and seemed to pretend to understand the problem, but I didn’t feel they knew what I was saying. Fix issues or lower rates. Meal quality was not consistent. Some days good, others less so.

Was here for meetings — the hotel is awesome, very cool design and furnishings. Staff at check-in were very friendly and the staff member taking care of our meeting room was also awesome. The only thing I didn't love was the bathroom door (there was no place to hang anything because they were french door style. Looked cool but not super functional — there eas no place to hang a travel toiletry case). The shops and restaurants around the hotel are nice and the street is so cute. I have already recommended this place to other coworkers looking for meeting spots and friends who may be vacationing down that way. This will bey choice of places to stay next time I'm in the area.

Service was ok but the food was overpriced for the quantity and quality. Salads were expensive and small and my burger had an over abundance of salad, onions, and tomato but the patty was small and dry.

This hotel used to be my very favorite. It seems like it changed hands and has really gone down hill. The rooms weren't in good repair (peeling wall paper, broken picture frame, missing picture) and our non-smoking room smelled heavily of smoke. Also, the baby crib that was provided wasn't warm or welcoming. The service in the restaurant was so slow that one time we walked out after waiting for a long time without even being greeted. It was really disappointing. I hope they get it figured out and returned to the exquisite experience it once was.

Very comfortable stay. We stayed for one night and it was quiet and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The only issue is the front entrance. The street can get a little backed up. There's is no loop for drop off or pickup just double parked cars on the street. Overall very nice experience with our stay.

Location is hard to overestimate. Room was comfortable and staff very helpful with setting extra bedroom and accommodating late checkout request. Small gym very functional, and breakfast can be taken outside in warm weather to look out on King st passers by.

Very nice pet friendly hotel in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Room was clean, quite and larger than average. Hotel staff was efficient and friendly. Lots of good restaurants, bars, and museums within a short four block walk either side of the hotel. Tip: Park next door at the courthouse garage on South Pitt Street.

Attended a wedding at this hotel. The venue was elegant, with a chic lobby and a quaint courtyard in which the ceremony was held. However, the event was marked by a rather toasty temperature. It appears the AC was struggling to keep up the whole night.

Nice hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Food at the restaurant was ok, The food for our meeting varied. Breakfast the first day (scrambled eggs was great, but every meal after that (we met for 2 days) was sort of blah.

The pool this frost, does not have heating. For 300 USD a night, you are missing amenities.

Had an amazing time in this beautiful hotel. My wife and I were celebrating our four year anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel special and welcome. Breakfast was delicious had the bacon green fried tomatoes and egg over easy sandwich… simply awesome. I was not a fan of the hash browns but never have liked hash browns.

Stayed at the hotel on a Saturday night just to visit town. Was impressed with the decor and the staff. The bed was very comfortable as well as the room and the furnishings were beautiful. We stayed in a room with a balcony and it was very lovely. They carry Beekman toiletries which smell great. We had dinner in the Jackson 20 restaurant which is part of the hotel. The food was very good but the service needs a lot of work. It was slow for dinner and the next morning for breakfast it was even slower. I think the management needs some training. There's good potential at this hotel. I'm happy that it's part of the Autograph Collection now as we are Platinum Elite members and love to stay in Autograph Collection hotels. This hotel has a lot of potential but there are some kinks that need to be worked out. The pool had beautiful comfortable loungers surrounding it but it was freezing cold, so cold we couldn't get in it! The lifeguard was lounging around like a guest on a cell phone laying on a lounger, laughing his head off, while the water was freezing and there was not one towel available for a guest to use. There was a signed indicating that it was 80 degrees but there is no way that pool was 80 degrees! It is managed by an outside pool company called Sunset and their employees are known to slack off because of lack of supervision.

I attended this hotel for a professional conference, so I'm not sure what the rooms or amenities are like. However, they were very hospitable and kept our conference room stocked with breakfast foods, snacks throughout the day, and water/coffee as we needed it. All of the staff where professional, helpful, and respectful. I'd definitely consider staying or attending a conference here again! Parking was $10 per day across the street, and was right off the beltway, so it was easy to get to, too.

Great location! Walk or take the free trolley up and down King Street. Friendly, helpful staff, clean hotel. Only downside for me is really a matter of preference… there was no privacy between the toilet area and the sink/vanity and no lock on the bathroom door at all. Also no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so showers left the bathroom steamy and wet. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Had a terrific stay. The staff was very courteous and the room was comfortable with the exception of being a corner room. Shuttle runs every hour on the hour to airport and was very close and convienient to our training site. Will definately visit again in future.

Great boutique hotel, unique decor, super friendly staff and terrific food! Attended a meeting there 4/25-26/17 and it was first class! Lovely location to take a walk, shop and dine any hours. Hope to go back one day!

This hotel is very nice. Has a location excellent and very palractica. The Rooms are quite nice and well decorated. The room that we were assigned unfortunately does not have coffee makers but for the rest is well-equipped. The air system is a little noisy for her years but it works well. The only drawback that we had what were the neighbors of room that from the middle of the night until the early morning hours made a lot of noise with the door and the TV which is heard through the walls and the door that the interconnects. The hotel staff was very friendly and offered to change our room in the middle of the night.

The city of Alexandria has many attractions to be there, the hotel Monaco is located close to excellent places to eat, do some quick shopping, and also in shops of good brands. The hotel is convenient, comfortable, and allows its guests to bring their pets. It is very clean and tidy and the attention is very good and unobtrusive. The shuttle service is courteous and punctual and have taxis at the entrance at all times.

This is the best place to accomadate anyone from anywhere. The staff is very kid friendly, helpful and Icourteous. Our room is AMAZING! We booked a suite and it is well worth it. The kids loved the pool! It is located in the center of Old Town. It is in walking distance of may shopping stores and fabulous restaurants. The location of this hotel is why it makes it great! They offer a complimentary wine hour in the lobby. It is pet friendly so there are many dogs walking around the hotel. I couldnt.

Great value overall. Right in a very hip area of town. Has above average food. Staff is very approachable and very helpful. This hotel has an older, classic feel… In a good way. I would stay here again.

My husband had a reunion in Old Town in December 2015. I researched hotels online. We chose to stay at the Monaco because it was close to the reunion location and the hotel looked lovely. When I called to make reservations, the reservations agent asked if there were a special occasion. I told her about the reunion, and I told her we were also going to celebrate my birthday early. When we arrived, the front desk staff wished me happy birthday. Later, the staff brought up a complimentary bottle of wine and two cupcakes for my birthday! Wow! Plus the hotel is absolutely lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip. Absolutely fabulous!

It's the little things. While I enjoyed our stay well enough, there were many little things that were not up to par considering the price of the room. The tub was broken in one way then another after they came to fix it. There was no sense of urgency with any request, so it was lucky were never in a hurry. Although any person I spoke to was very nice so there's that.

Location is perfect. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are nice and the decor is quite interesting. Only issue we had was being woken up to a fire in the hotel garage on our anniversary. It obviously wasn't their fault but they weren't very sympathetic to the fact that we had to stand outside in our PJs for hours. Update: I have adjusted my rating to reflect the fact that the wonderful Assistant General Manager Elif later addressed our concerns and was indeed very sympathetic to the issue and was genuinely apologetic and accommodating to both myself and my wife. The Monaco Alexandria is now a no-brainer booking for my wife and I when staying in Old Town Alexandria.

This hotel is very famous in Alexandria. The decoration is very nice and cosy. The rooms are spacious and clean with a big TV. They have a package, you can get free breakfast every day for 1 dollars. They give you a voucher for that and it can be exchanged for a free drink at the bar. Basically you can have drink at the bar everyday for free :) In the lobby you can borrow a bicycle and have a ride downtown. Old town Alexandria is a beautiful historic place. The hotel restaurant is Jackson 20. It's really good. I really liked the corn bread and the slow cooked beef brisket.

Edit: $54 charge for mini bar we didn't use. Was refunded once I called in but still, check your statements! Great last minute room with well lit, quiet room. Friendly staff and easy to check in and out.

This is a great place to stay in Alexandria. One of the best things about it is that you can bring your dog. Also comma there is a free happy hour where you can drink wine and relax in the lobby. The happy hour can get pretty crowded, even too crowded depending on the occupancy of the hotel. The hotel has a pool and a workout room both are pretty small. Other Clinton hotels have a more Boutique eclectic design, butt the rooms here are spacious and comfortable. Many of the rooms face an interior Terrace and have small balconies with tables where you can relax. Ask for a Terrace room.

Had a good experience at the Monaco. Nice room and nice service. Only gripe is that the on-site parking is way too much considering there's a city garage next door with 1/3 to 1/4 the rate.

I booked a room to treat my daughter for her birthday, during the long weekend. Kayla was an absolute delight to work with on the phone, booking the right room, and allowing a late check out. (Unfortunately she was not on when we checked in) Coming in during wine hour on Valentine's Day, the lobby was exceptionally crowded, but both the valet and bellman were attentive and helpful. The front desk service seemed a bit overwhelmed and rushed, so I had to ask about the things Kimpton hotels typically offer having stayed at a few of them. They didn't have a few things that I asked for, stating each time because it was v-day. (Though I feel they should have been prepared for that) The room was beautiful and comfortable, plenty of room. They set up a chalkboard with our names, and left candy and juice for my girls. There was even a goldfish in the room. Jackson 20 was amazingly accommodating (no tables avail as it was V-day) and found us a table and didn't force us to order from some prefix couples menu. Food was delicious and not overly priced. Would def stay again, but maybe not on a holiday weekend. Spa services were also fully booked.

Location was in Old Town Alexandria. The rooms were very nice, but because of the layout the rooms can take a while walk to. The overnight car parking fee was 30 which was higher than expected. They do a wine tasting which was fun. Overall, nice place to stay.

I was very impressed with the hotel and especially with Kayla, the front desk manager. She did everything possible to make our stay, and everyone's stay during the blizzard, pleasant. She is a huge asset to this hotel chain!

Rooms are large, open and the hotel is pet friendly. Wine social in the evenings. The attached restaurant is excellent. The hotel staff is friendly, helpful and cordial.

The room was tastefully decorated, with a large mirror and a cute terasse for two. The shower is in the same space as the toilet. Service was excellent, and the attached jackson 20 is both delicious and convinieny.

I only went for an office party, but the service was phenomenal, the food was great and everything felt professional. I would highly recommend any company looking to host a party there or even small weddings.

Great value, attentive staff.

Location is perfect for hopping out and hitting the city. Parking is pretty bad, but about the best you can expect in such an old structure. Staff was friendly, had no real issues. I didn't like that I couldn't access the TVs HDMI ports to hook the kids up with Netflix, but I should expect that I guess.

Pool heater was broken but pool was not closed. Staff is hit or miss on service. Staff offers services and does not follow through. Bed was made with only a comforter and no sheet. Did appreciate the airport shuttle but did not appreciate the "flight for life" ride from DCA that made my wife carsick and made a veteran ambulance driver fear for his life. One night a guest left a dog alone in the room adjacent to ours which proceeded to bark continually until they returned at 2:30 AM.

It was a nice hotel to stay, it was definitely a modern one. The room I got was big enough for me. The bed was so comfy and relaxing, I would love to just lie in there all day long. The only problem is, improvement of customer service in this hotel is a must! And one more thing, they have an early check out fee, so stay in this place if you are on a longcation.

Excellent hotel, staff was friendly and helpful however a little disorganized. The room was clean, comfortable and quite luxurious.

I must have missed the friendly staff. Tried catch the elevator, staff would not hold it. Dogs fighting in doorway. No help with parking. Called about a room said they would hold, showed up gone. Lucky that's just day one. Save money book marriot, hilton better service.

This hotel is an awesome place to stay. Pricey but it is worth the money with the comforts that they offer. Staff is excellent and very courteous.

Lobby and Jackson 20 are modern, yet still comfortable. Bar staff is great and drinks are very well-made.

I walked in to a roaring fireplace and a very cozy lobby. Many hotel lobbies don't encourage hanging out in the lobby but this one was full of plush sofas. The room was spacious and comfortable with old world decor. The staff seemed really nice as well. My aunt wasn't sure where to get ice but the kitchen staff got her some even while telling here that there was, in fact, an ice machine on each floor. The surrounding area in Old Town makes it accessible to everything.

My wife and I did a little week getaway here. Loved it and the service was fantastic. Very odd and quirky yet fun hotel.

We stayed here for a week, with our four kids, in two suites. The staff were polite, professional, and helpful. The facilities were immaculate and high quality. The location is exceptional, close to Metro and the Old Town trolley. Will definitely stay here again.

Amazing experience. We have two 170lb dogs and the staff didn't blink an eye. The room was fantastic and our balcony was wonderful. We enjoyed the happy hour wine tasting and Jackson 20 restaurant/bar. The staff was pleasant and helpful at every turn. They provide a dog bed, bowls and waste bags. It is right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars, shops and tourist destinations.

So it must be, great Hotel, 1a Service. In any case, the $ 1 extra Option.
