It is a very swanky hotel. Bed was comfy, Wi-Fi was decent. Shower has good water pressure. Very lacking in sound proofing. Your roommate (and possibly everyone on the floor) CAN hear every thing you do in the bathroom. Surprisingly few amenities for such a pricey place. No continental breakfast, very sad. Maybe that is just standard in Austin, TX, though, I am not sure.

We really enjoyed the view and the frozē at the poolside bar upstairs. I have to amend this review… Admission to the pool bar used to be free. Now there's a twenty dollar cover charge per person to get to the upstairs bar. I don't mind paying too much for a drink with a good view but I'm unwilling to pay a cover for the privilege to do so.

I was skeptical booking this hotel, you often hear in these reviews that "the pool is too crowded" or that "the location sucks" but after spending my weekend here I have absolutely enjoyed everything this hotel has had to offer! The beds and room we're super comfy and practical, only complaint is the shower is super pretty, however it is lacking in water pressure and that's the biggest negative I have for the hotel If you want to enjoy the rooftop pool, go in the morning! Nobody will be there and it's a great relaxing experience, and at night time it's a party! The Westin will definitely be my hotel of choice in the near future.

I stayed here with buddies for a guys weekend. It was close to the action, local food and dining around the corner, and great roof top pool atmosphere (free to hotel guests). Room was clean and entire hotel is up to date. Would definitely return.

Pretty hotel with nice rooms… that said. The "pool" is only good for am extra club scene. Super packed with people at all times. Bar at pool is pretty slow, but makes good drinks. Pool has DJ while I was there with my husband. Ohh also, valet parking is required and costs $45. Keep this ridiculous fee in mind while pricing the room you want. Hidden valet costs made me extremely upset and lost respect for Westin management.

The service was great and the room was really nice. We got upgraded to a suite and enjoyed it. The pool is small, but a fun and beautiful atmosphere. The location is great… Close to everything. The only thing the hotel was lacking was a club level lounge. However we enjoyed the vouchers for breakfast.

I had a great time at the Westin! Only negative thing I have to say was my experience at the pool. The bartender with the short blonde hair was very rude for no apparent reason. She didn’t greet us as she greeted everyone else who came into the pool area. Just kind of a blank rude stare towards my boyfriend and I. But. Didn’t think anything of it. I had a glass of wine at the pool that I brought from my room… I didn’t know about the no glass rule. I was out there for 20 minutes with my wine glass, then the woman shouted to another employee to tell me that there was no glass allowed. Loud enough for me to hear. I have no problem following the rules I just wish she could’ve been more discreet about telling her to do that. I’m assuming she is some sort of manager but that is not the way I feel a manager should enforce something. But overall great experience.

Bad experience, valet service is mandatory with no exceptions with an extra $45 fee per day, I wouldn't mind paying that if could park my own car because I don't like strangers driving my vehicle, well turns out I found some hotel property evidence that was left in a part of my car where valet attendants were obviously snooping through parts of my vehicle where they had no business in, exactly why I don't like strangers driving my vehicle. The overcrowded pool was a hassle just get in there, get carded for ID even though I had hotel key, didn't allow any outside drinks to come in so you're forced to buy something at the pool bar to drink even though I already had a drink purchased from the hotel lobby, and the pool is very small for the amount of people wanting to use it. There's a learning curve for the elevators, multiple people had same issues everytime I got on the elevators. There is a refrigerator in the rooms but no microwaves anywhere on property to use so I had some leftover food that went to waste that I could not reheat Two stars only because it's a nice looking modern up to date hotel at a great location, but there are plenty of better hotels in the area to stay in, I would not stay here again.

The Westin in downtown Austin is nice. Within walking distance of the capitol building, 6th street, and many other attractions. The valet parking is mandatory, and is $45 a night. A tad steep, but ended up being worth it for a 2 night stay because it comes with unlimited in-and-out privileges. Super clean as always with any Westin. The downstairs lounge is nice. The rooftop bar and pool are exceptional! Great views, comfortable, and they usually have music or a DJ.

A nice hotel in the heart of Austin. Rooms are modern, comfortable, and clean. However what I enjoy most of all is this hotels location next to the dirty 6th Street bar scene. Fun times are only a few steps away. Bars close at 2am.

I hate to leave a negative review, but this experience was my first bad one with this hotel chain The folks at the front desk or nice but otherwise the rest of the stay was not great whatsoever. No place to sit or go at the pool, but half the areas where roped off not allowing people to sit, broken shower head in the room as well as a busted outlet in the bathroom. What really did it for me was when the valet took and wash my claim ticket, thankfully the young man at the end when I picked up my vehicle was understanding and did some homework to make sure it's all set. For $300 night experience, I don't think I'll ever come back to this particular Westin Hotel This was my first bad experience, but bad enough that I don't see myself coming back next time I'm in Austin. You guys can do a lot better for a high-end hotel! The $42 surprise valet fee that's not listed on the website was a little discouraging also. I'm all about communication. Hope this helps.

Went for the roof top pool party which was hands-down the BEST party I've been to. It was amazing and the views were incredible. Can't speak to much about the experience of actually staying here but thought the lobby was very nice and classy. Staff was attentive and kind. All in all, great place to stay for your first time in Austin. Pretty sure it's pricey…

WOW is a great description for this hotel. The staff is first rate, from the valet to front desk to the bartenders on the amazing rooftop pool and bar. Room was clean and spacious. It was a little pricey but worth it. Unfortunately the waiter we had at the restaurant attached to the lobby was terrible, so we only went there once. Hotel is in a terrific location, I definitely recommend this gem, the front desk is over the top in their professional demeanor and service skills!

The hotel was clean and the facilities were good. The gym facility was nice though unfortunately the rooftop longue was closed for construction. The location was good, rates were reasonable and the staff were friendly. Walls are a bit thinner than you might expect.

Attended a professional event. The staff was very attentive. They provided high quality, good food. Hotel was clean, nicely decorated but I cannot speak to the overnight rooms.

They charged me $800 incidental fee for nothing! And they wouldn’t give me a solid answer why. I don’t recommend this hotel for anyone — it looks cool but there are plenty of great hotels within walking distance of this one.

Great gym. They even let you borrow some gym clothes (cleaned of course) so you don't have to pack shoes with you in order to get a workout in when traveling for business. The rooms are great of course, and the restaurant is fantastic. Zucchini quinoa was fantastic, and I'm not even a vegetarian.

The beds are very comfortable and the service is beautiful.

The hotel is in a great location and bathroom design/amenities were amazing! The service was great and rooftop pool was also fantastic! I was only there for 1 night but the cleanliness was defintely NOT up to my standards. There were very visible stains all on the bed skirts of both beds. I counted at least five and they were not small. Keep in mind they were all white sheets… but come on! Also we found two long hairs in the sheets when we pulled back the covers. We were so grossed out that we slept on top of the covers. So overall I would definitely have to say 3/5.

Welcoming lobby, restaurant downstairs, heated pool and 24 hour gym upstairs. In the rooms, the beds were so comfy, everything was super clean, and the TV was giant. Not that you'd want to stay in your room a lot since The Westin is in prime area right off 6th and other downtown attractions.

My husband surprised me with an amazing experience. He reserved the Gingerbread house for us to dine inside for my birthday. The experience, drinks, and desserts were amazing. Our waiter was gracious and great at his job. The downside was having to argue with the hostess on our reservation. They had down 2 people and my husband's email showed 6. Also the Valet parking was a hassle. For the money we spent for the experience we expect other aspects to be seemless too. I do however recommend this experience. It is amazing and they donate a portion of the sale to charity.

The Westin in Downtown Austin was a great overall experience. The great service started when they allowed us to check in early (6am, ) after we arrived early from our red eye flight. Service continued with concierge providing information for anything and everything we needed. Our room was very well kept and the large bathroom was a great addition.

The rooms appear to be newly remodeled and we're very clean. The lobby is also recently updated and trendy. I stayed at this hotel for a few days for a convention and the staff were very polite as well.

Was very disappointed! So the Westin calls themselves a resort but I didn’t see it or feel it at all. First the parking, $42 to park my vehicle on a side street and not in a parking garage. I’m serious ask the guy parking your car where are you taking my car. This just blew me away. Yes it very nice inside and the people are nice but whatever you do don’t run your bank card as debit! They will put a hold on your account for 3 days even after they have their money. I understand this is normal but 3 days after the money is clear that’s ridiculous. Which brings me to the billing department, if there is one because I haven’t heard from them yet… instead I talked to someone at the front desk who didn’t have the resources to help me on my billing problem. The problem was fixed 4 days after my stay and the Westin did comp me… $50 which I’m thankful of but not enough for me to not send a bad review. And don’t get me started about the no smoking on the roof policy, more personal than anything but it’s still ridiculous to not to be able to smoke on a roof when your spending this kind of money. Needless to say we won’t be staying at the Westin again.

Modern hotel in downtown Austin. Good size rooms with comfortable heavenly beds. Their gym gear lending program is always very convenient. Restaurant is pretty good too. Overall definitely worth staying here.

I did not enjoy my stay. We arrived 5ish pm from a 5 hr flight and cab interval to hear the concierge tell us that our room was not ready. Our check in was 3pm. So its not like we requested commitment above and beyond. The excuse was they had a wedding that took 300 rooms. So does reservations mean anything? We decided to leave our bags at front and walk to a restaurant. When we arrived our room was ready. So that was good. When we arrived in our room, it was dusty. This is a corner suite, their largest. I expected cleaner since we desired to experience their best. Its funny because we love giving rave reviews. The worst part was the constant music beat we could hear which was probably upstairs pool. We slept poorly because of the music but also the stuffy room. Needs better circulations. We will not be staying here next year for our yearly conference event.

Great location, within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. They have a great rooftop bar. Service is good and valet is relatively fast.

The Westin never disappoints. We went there for a work happy hour and it was phenomenal. The little nosh selection was impressive and the drink specials were awesome. We will go back for sure.

Great hotel 8n a perfect location if you like music. Was here for a conference but appreciated being right at 6th street. Costs what you would expect for a 4 star hotel but the service and amenities match.

What an amazing Westin property! Centrally located in downtown with incredible front desk staff and the deliciously welcoming Westin scent. Classic contemporary lobby and carefully decorated rooms as well as some of the best room service food I have had at a Westin property with a heavenly bed to fall into after a night on 6th!

I just stayed here this past weekend of 08/12-08/13/2017. The customer service is here by far the best I have ever had! I work in banking so I can appreciate the great customer service. From the moment I called to make my reservation to the moment I checked out, every representative was very friendly! I would highly recommend this hotel! Thanks Westin!

Prompt check in. Very busy night life at the roof pool and bar. Great views of the city from gym. Room was nice and had great Starbucks coffee. Loved the shower and toiletries.

The hotel is actually beautiful, the service is a little lacking but overall it's a great experience when you walk through the front door or even park your car with the valet (By far the best service at the hotel). Certainly not the hotel to stay if you want a good rest. The rooms are not very well insulated from noise at all and I just honestly can't recommend this hotel to anyone that's expecting to get a good rest before 2am. Now… if you're a party animal and that's the time you get back to your room then I am sure you'll LOVE this place. From the confines of my very modern and clean room all I can hear is the bass beat from what I can only guess is a club next to the hotel and being a migraine sufferer I could feel that beat vibrate through every part of my body. It's not a bad hotel, it's just very unfortunate location for anyone desperate for a good night's rest.

What an amazing experience, seeing the city from the Azul rooftop bar and pool was great! Amazingly friendly and warm welcome. The parking could be better but we found a garage that had $10 parking really close by from 5 pm to 3 am. The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside. The decor and atmosphere are truly "Austinesque. " We will make another trip to try the restaurant since we were only there for swimming.

Very nice hotel. Roof top pool is great, but not exactly the most family friendly on weekend evenings due to the bar. With that said, very adult friendly at those times. The in house restaurant is also very nice, and a cut above most of the other in house restaurants at equivalent venues. High class, but not over pretentious ;)

Not kid friendly. Outdoor heated pool is basically a club/bar with a DJ and loud music and there is no alternative. It was very nice atmosphere if you like that kind of thing — not a deal breaker but my 6 year old just wants to swim and was disappointed. The issue was compounded by the fact there was no bathtub but only a shower. **We cancelled our stay not specifically because of the pool but because the walk in glass shower in our room was mildewing and the room smelled. ** FULL DISCLOSURE: The hotel management offered to move us to another room, which was appreciated. We declined and the hotel reversed the charges. Frankly, the customer service was excellent.

Attended a conference at the Westin. All the staff, especially the valet and front desk, were super helpful. The first day, their room card system was down and they did their best to make it easy on us. The conference rooms were great, the catered food was one of the better hotel catering I've had. Lastly, the rooftop pool and bar was great, very clean and nice. However it was a little small so space was hard to come by and the bar didn't have a great selection.

Rooms are quite comfortable! Highly recommend the rooftop pool/bar. Excellent place to chill for an hour or two with a drink.

Great atmosphere with an incredible roof top bar & pool. But overall, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. If you looking for somewhere to stay right in the heart of downtown, this is your place.

This was one of the best hotels I've been to. It was like a constant party. Whoever picks the music there picks a banging playlist 24/7. Its quieter in the morning and gets more fun throughout the day. The rooftop bar and pool is popping at night and absolutely fun. Great gym, rooms and showers. Honestly it was great total experience.

Everyone was very kind and helpful. The place is absolutely fabulous and the beds are so comfortable! I would have stay in my bed all day long. The restaurant "Stella" is very nice too and it's very good and not to expensive. If you can, go to the rooftop to enjoy the pool and bar. The view is incredible!

We stayed one night here in June of 2016. The hotel was newly built at that time. The room was very comfortable. They offer a complimentary dinner Mondays-Thursdays that we were able to take advantage of. Beer and wine were included. The pool looked liked fun but we did not have a chance to get in.

Terrible hotel. Service was horrible, stayed the night and because I didn't look like I had money I was treated extremely poorly. Had an issue with my Wi-Fi and the front desk was no help at all, talked to their manager on check out and clearly showed they didn't care about me and my stay. Decided to take my fiance and have a special night downtown but there's way better hotel companies, for cheaper and just as close to the action! The Westin is a huge corporation that is bullying local music venues that follow sound ordinances to the T and sueing them for over a million dollars due to "loss of business because guests hear the music" Yet The Westin knowingly built their hotel 20 feet from 6th Street but didn't feel like spending the extra money to adequately soundproof their rooms enough. It's terrible to see these massive companies come in and take advantage of what has been built in Austin and profit from its culture and then turn around and destroy the very thing that made it possible for them to be here in the first place.

So here's the deal. This hotel is being ungrateful to the Austin community by moving into a neighborhood that is known all around the world as a music community with loud bars, loud outdoor events, and a lot of loud people. There are other establishments in this area who are grateful, cooperative neighbors — — unlike The Westin. If you're looking for a quiet hotel, then don't stay at any hotels in Downtown. You'll likely be hearing noise no matter the sound abating materials used in the project. They should be suing their consultant, not a small business owner. Also, the Westin is not a high-end hotel. Don't stay at a budget hotel if you're going to nit-pick about noise levels. If you don't mind a little Austin Ambiance, I would suggest nicer hotels such as The Driskill (you'll hear some noise) and the Hilton Downtown (you'll also hear some noise). The Driskill has been here since a hundred years and the Hilton has been in downtown for 13 years. Neither of them have acted like spoiled brats to the neighborhood that gave them a reason to open their doors in the first place.

Place smelled. The staff was rude. Just poor experience all around. Tries to be pompous while at the same time has dozens of crackheads asking you for change. Really exemplifies the whole Californian in Austin persona as a hotel.

Austin has been the music capital way before The Westin was ever built. However you are suing a small business for 1 million? Do you not realize that I'm sure much of your business is from musicians and the visitors they bring? I will never recommend!

I don't understand how a hotel can be built in the live music area of the live music Capitol of the world and not expect to hear live music. Sounds like real poor planning and poor management.

I ordered room service and I'm pretty sure someone farted in it. It smelled and tasted very gassy. These guys hate service as much as they hate live music. Will never return.

Service is really nice, 5 minutes walk to 6th street, and about 15 minutes walk to Capitol, very nice location! Quiet at night, all kinds of nice food are around! Nice pool and gym on top and good branch at first floor! Highly recommended!

Beautiful property, very upscale hotel. Breathtaking view from rooftop pool. The bed and the pillows are pure luxury, heavenly. Staff goes out of their way to make your every wish come true. Quick easy walk over to Austin's World Famous 6th Street. Valet parking only which you will understand since it is located in the middle of downtown Austin, but reasonably easy to grab a cab, although an easy walk to most places.

This hotel is a jewel. Very modern, clean with amazing services. The location is perfect, only one block from the 6th Street. I will recommend it and will stay there again.

Amazing pool with great views of the city, come on Sunday for a more relaxed vibe. Hotel was very chic especially for the price. Front desk staff, Minerva, treated us to a bottle of champagne for our anniversary… so thoughtful! We will be back!

Great service! Concierge offered to accompany me to show me around the hotel, and was also very accommodating with not just my own, but my friends' baggage as well at check-out.

The westin a a great place, right by 6th St, Vudu doughnuts were amazing, and it's just a fun time.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff was very nice and quick when it came to checking in and checking out. The location was very central to the things I needed to do in Austin as well. The room was everything you need with a little bit extra with a big TV, nice shower, etc. The main complaint would be the fee for Internet. Nowadays it should be a standard to have free Wi-Fi for guests. The extra $15/day for Internet is a significant amount as well.

Rooms were good. Check in/out easy. Pool area too small and crowded with furniture. But the worst is the parking cost! 40 bucks per night. Ridiculous!

I took my family here for Easter Lunch yesterday expecting to have a long wait but was greatly surprised at the over welcoming staff and how quick and efficient the service was. The food was amazing and my family enjoyed the dining experience. Will definitely be coming here again very soon! Great place!

Pretty standard gray-modern design. The conference rooms seemed a little cramped and the conference rooms typical. They will have trouble maintaining the appeal as it ages.

I went to The Westin Austin Downtown for a SXSW event. The space was nice and clean with a strong Wi-Fi network.

My wife and I had drinks at the Westin Austin on 2/27/16. We had a great time there. The service was prompt and the drinks were strong. I'd highly recommend going there for a date night!

Nothing to complain, service is among the best westin experiences I've ever had. Valet is a bit expensive which is 40+tax.

Amazing food and great service! The waiters were very attentive and thoughtful.

The service was excellent! We went bar hopping and it was a perfect location. I had so much fun that I ended up sleeping on the floor NEXT to the bed. I will say that they have the most comfortable floors I've ever had the luxury of sleeping on. Around 6am I made it up to the bed and that was wonderful as well. Will definitely be back!

Nice hotel. I was expecti g something a little more upscale but it was a pleasant stay there. The room with 2 double queens was quite lovely but it didn't seem as if someone did a final inspection aftr construction. There was exposed sheet rock looking material by the window behind the curtain. When the curtain was drawn it couldn't be seen. Overall, I would stay there again.

Wish I could tell you about my stay. Sadly (or fortunately), I don't recall most of it. But I woke up with a 9 at my side. So, you know, at least I've got that going for me.

I love the boutique hotel Austin vibe at The Westin Downtown. Good to have live music playing in the lobby with a beautiful restaurant on location. Service from valet to the front desk was impeccable and the staff is obviously happy — enjoying what they do. It was worth the rate to stay here.

Horrible building design, if you stay on the weekend, be ready to get no sleep because of all the noise. They need to insulate the rooms better. The breakfast menu leaves much to be desired. They do not offer a free breakfast like most modern hotels do! Not worth the expensive room price. The so called heavenly bed is not anything close to it. What a brutal stay!

Our stay here was for one night only, but everything was exceptional! The building's beautiful as well. Will be staying here again in the future!

Exceptional staff, friendly valet and front counter. Clean new building, modern architecture with a restaurant and bar in the lobby. The check in clerk asked the purpose for our visit we stated a kids convention and our child's birthday. By the time we got up to our room they had sent a runner with a birthday gift (some popcorn, cookies and A HAND WRITTEN NOTE from the whole front counter staff) We stayed on the opposite side of the hotel from 6th street so it was nice and quiet. The only complaint I could think of is the next morning they had a construction crew hammering two floors above us. At first I thought someone was knocking, then I thought it was an adjoining room. As it grew in intensity I went waking around and found it two floors up, twelve guys beating a room into shape. If not for the rude awakening it would be a five.

Simply amaZZZing! Great service ✔️ Great atmosphere ✔️ Great amenities ✔️ It's like they thought about everything! The TV even has a white noise channel for light sleepers! Good luck lifting a finger here because they'll try to do it for you! The rooftop pool is incredible and the poolside bar was the perfect touch. It's a bit intimate in size but everyone was super friendly.

Amazing place with a view. Rooftop pool and bar and gym are unbeatable for the price! Live music in the lobby during the night. Along with a restaurant in the lobby.
