Fantastic facilities. Beautiful rooms and quality amenities.

I have to recommend this hotel and especially Miss Rachel! My husband and me were trying to get a room for our uncle while we were in Georgia. Our uncle got declined in another hotel because of his service dog. We called this hotel and got miss Rachel on the phone. This lady helped us sending immediately an form to fill in so we can pay the room with our credit card. My card got declined first due to a fraud alert. Miss Rachel called us immediately back and helped us to book everything with a second credit card. She was patient, helpful, nice and went above and beyond to help us getting a room for our uncle. The moment our uncle arrived, the staff gave him immediately a room key and greet him with „uncle miller“. I don’t know what position miss Rachel has in this facility, but please dear Marriott Spartanburg Manager, keep this lady in your Team. She definitely restored our faith in humanity! Thanks to her we had a safe night knowing our uncle and his service dog are safe even 340 miles away from us. We can’t describe enough in words how the staff helped a newlywed couple and their family. We appreciate the help and support.

Very nice, spacious, first class facilities!

I give it a five out of five for an overall great place to stay. For its functionality. It's placement within the city of Spartanburg. Its spaciousness. The bar and grill and the restaurant are absolutely great. The staff was very professional friendly and very helpful. There was ample parking and a huge parking garage which was absolutely free to my surprise. They have a very large comfortable and accommodating pool. The mezzanine was very clean nicely set up and had a very wonderful overlooking view the terrorist was beautiful and spacious. This is a all-around great Hotel and it's not overly expensive at all in fact it was very inexpensive for all of the comforts and amenities that it offers. This is my designated place to stay forever whenever I'm in around or near Spartanburg South Carolina.

Amazing place to chill and work in Spartanburg.

My wife and I made a 2:00 reservation for their Thanksgiving buffet. We were finally seated at 2:38. The tardiness could have been tolerated but for one thing: the waiter told us they quit serving at 3:00. Worse yet, the rude turkey carver told us that they were out of turkey! All he had was a couple of dried out drumsticks, off which he reluctantly agreed to strip some meat. For crying out loud, Marriott, it’s Thanksgiving Day. You know—turkey day. Our waiter did virtually nothing other than take away a few plates. He even failed to refill our water glasses nor ask if we wanted coffee with our desert. For this the Marriott had the nerve to add an 18% “service charge” to our bill, which came to just over $100. If they want their staff to work for just tips, they should make certain they earn them. I refused to pay the service charge, but left the waiter a ten dollar tip, which was five dollars more than he was worth. To quote a famous bird, not a turkey, “Never more. ”

Outdated, old, rooms were meh. I would go to the new ac Marriott across from Cribs. This full service Marriot isn’t what it used to be. Edit: the concierge staff was fantastic, the ballroom was as beautiful, the cash bars operated efficiently, but the Id check was a bit extreme. The staff, however, made it a wonderful experience. The concierge staff were great. The marble entrance is beautiful. They could use an update on rooms, that’s the outdated part.

The food at the Mother’s Day brunch was not very appetizing, my chicken was pink : (

Very nice hotel. Beautiful Lobby. Room was very nice. I still do not understand why at a very nice hotel like this the breakfast is not complementary.

It was ok, probably up to Marriott's standards and not worth what we paid. Most of my complaints can be chalked up to location and age of the building. Our door didn't close due to a warped frame. Really had to bash it to close. Shower took forever to get going and never got above lukewarm heat. Food options were scarce but I chalk that up to location. Overall, I wouldn't stop here again.

This is our home town Marriott that we stay at for a 2 night event each year. The service is very accommodating. They are always so nice about extra towels, late checkouts, etc. Most of my complaints are pretty picky. Sometimes the hot water seems to ebb and flow in shower as in your house if everyone was showering at once, often about the time everyone is likely showering, but hey, it’s an elegant hotel, maybe you could fix that. (it’s not scalding or freezing, just seems odd, it’s not an old building. ) Getting to the pool is comical. You have to go to the 3rd floor then take another elevator back down. Not really a big deal. The slick marble floors in part of each room, the grand staircase, and all the common areas require you to walk carefully but is very lovely, as is the lobby ceiling! Love those multifunction lamps in the rooms! The food for catered events is good, not stellar but nice. The breakfast buffet IS stellar, however! The elevators are really efficient. There were 2 big events, one that had young people even, and we never waited for elevator. (Obviously guests could alter that. ) All in all we absolutely love staying here.

Very nice venue for after our friends wedding ceremony. One thing, that stopped it from being great. There are no baby changing stations in either male or female bathrooms also no areas for a mother to nurse. We had to change our 4 month old in a quiet corner on the ground because there was nowhere more convenient.

Very nice hotel. Parking is pretty good when not busy. I am taking off a star because Wi-Fi isn’t free, and the snack bar downstairs is very expensive. Much like a minibar. You can pay upfront for a $3 bottle of water and $5 for a cookie if you’d like or you can charge it to the room. Otherwise great hotel.

One of the best experiences I have every had at a hotel! It's all because of the staff! Blake the night manager is one of the most professional yet down to earth Person I have met in Sc hospitality. In my experience we have never seen that type of service anywhere else. That man deserves a raise because he has made us costumers for life. Thanks Blake your awesome.

Was here for a local graduation event. The hotel has parking underneath the hotel which was initially difficult to find but is very convenient. The rooms are spacious and comfortable like most Marriott's I've been to. They have a big bar and restaurant area which was nice to spend time at.

We stayed at the Spartansburg Marriott while doing The Assault on Mount Mitchell bike event. They were very accommodating to all the cyclists with a convenient location close to the starting line. It was a very clean and comfortable place to stay!

It was good. Quick over night stay we checked in at 1am and checked out at 7am. Not much to report other than customer service was nice.

Wonderful and busy brunch. Thanks to the team and our excellent servers, Lacey and Chasity. You made this meal extra special for our large group.

Incredible employees who really are welcoming and helpful. Loved the spacious lobby and dining areas. Gym was impressive. Stayed on concierge level which makes business travel much easier. Great bartender team and social vibe in the lobby bar. Walked to restaurants on Main Street — just a couple blocks from the hotel. Very walkable town. Great shops, lots of art, and incredible food options.

I asked the front desk on my second day to have someone come fix the heat in my room. It was a very cool 64 degrees and the heater was not working. No one ever showed up. Second day I went down to the front desk and asked again and now told them the water was not getting hot in the shower. I was told to let the water run for 15 to 20 minutes and they would send someone to look at the heater. Again, no luck. So that afternoon I met a hotel maintenance person on the elevator. He came to the room and adjusted the a water valve in the heater and left saying it was "fixed. " Yep. The room now got up to 67 degrees! Finally, on the third day, after going down to the front desk twice a real maintenance person showed up and had the heat working at 6:30 PM (no luck with the water! ) I checked out this morning at 5:30 AM and after asking the front desk if they could reduce the bill was politely told that they could do nothing. Next year I will stay elsewhere and I recommend you should as well!

Beautiful facilities but their reservation process lacks in attention to the details. I was part of a large group who was the only one staying two nights and was getting the run round on the second night. Luckily the lady who made the reservation had where she did make mine for two nights.

My daughter and I went for dinner after leaving another downtown steak restaurant who told us it would be a two-hour wait. There was no wait at the hotel restaurant and the steak was as good as I have ever had. I had the 12 oz New York strip and it was superb. They three cheese scalloped potatoes asparagus salad and sweet cornbread were awesome as well.

Nice hotel with attached convention center. Lives up to the high standards of the chain. Second stay at this location; easy to recommend and revisit.

Very pleased with all that this hotel has to offer. I usually can't afford a Marriott as nice as this but a company put me up here for a few nights. So glad they did because it's been a great "home away from home. " My room is comfortable, quiet and the hotel is very convenient to the office and downtown Spartanburg. Can't say enough about the staff and their very genuine smiles, thank you's and " how can I help you. ". Kuddos to the GM for assembling such a great team of people. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to that area.

Great hotel. Very clean and super nice room. Comfortable bed and really nice bathroom. Would highly recommend. They had a live band playing in a lounge one evening. There was a nice view as well.

The hotel is really good and very well looked after. Excellent parking lot below the hotel. The staff are always friendly and helpful, making it a better stay. Well placed for getting into Spartanburg.

Absolutely loved it. Room was perfect. Great location. Shawn was absolutely amazing. He gave us a short tour at 10:30PM when we arrived. Highly recommend.

Spartanburg Marriott was very comfortable.

Spartanburg Marriott was just okay for me. Its way better than Super 8 located on Blackstock Road. Spartanburg Marriott has a grand walk in with a beautiful lobby area. The room I stayed in on the 6th floor was just okay. Its nice but its old. The floor wasn't clean. I took one of the white towels and wiped the bathroom floor, I got black marks. The carpet in the room had stain marks. I feel for a 5 star hotel I should have spotless floors and stainless carpet. I also believe the rooms needs to be upgraded. Some paint on the wall and a clean rub down on the bathroom door and walls.

GREAT place to stay. All the staff are help and willing to help. The beds are so comfortable. Near the fireplace there is a pool table and nice leather fluffy couch. I will return.

I feel the front desk staff was helpful making sure I didn't need no help with anything. I ordered some food from the restaurant and they delivered it up to my room and Brandon was beyond great super friendly definitely cares about the guests. The chicken soup was great my daughter said it was delicious and the Burger I got was good as well. So far I haven't had any complaints in my stay if anything changes before my check out I will update my review, but as of now so far all has been great honestly.

Amazing place, management opened the hotel for people fleeing Hurricane Irma with their pets, awesome employees as well as the management staff. Would highly recommend this Marriott to anyone. Couldn't ask for a better place to ride out a hurricane.

This is probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Every single one of the staff was incredibly nice, they had fantastic choices for dinner, and the facility is first class. I would definitely go out of my way to stay here again!

Awesome experience. I had two rooms for my group of eight people. Everything from check in to check out was awesome. They were even hosting a free eclipse party for guests. We didn't stay for the party since our purpose for the trip was to get into Greenville to see the full effect of the eclipse. But everyone was super nice. Everything was super clean.

Very good service upon check in. Room spacious and clean. A bit noisy in the morning with guests. Great food at the on site restaurant although service was a bit slow. Nice place for meetings or conference. FitNess room equipment in very good condition. Pool had lap lanes which is a big plus.

From the perspective of the 5th floor with a window viewing the pool area this hotel is in superb condition. The bed was clean and well maintained the couch was suitable for casual television viewing and the shower was adequate. The fitness center offered at least three treadmills, three elliptical machines and three stationary bicycles. The weight machines were all operational and the free weights were more than enough for a traveling workout. Pool was clean and there were plenty 0laces to sit of sunbathing was on the agenda or of you simply wanted to swim the pool was big enough to get a good workout in that area too. Hot tub, while not my taste, was also clean and of adequate size and temperature. Overall my stay at the Marriott was very satisfying and a welcome change to the travel catastrophe caused by Southwest airlines and their lack of professionalism or customer service.

I live in the area, but hadn't had an occasion to visit this property until this week. Truly a beautiful property. Great for a professional or special event, and very inviting with so much to offer! I ended up meeting Crystal Pace, Sales Manager, and would definitely recommend engaging with her for your on site event and group needs.

Beautiful place. Had a great time with the Father Daughter dance held there. Food and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to book a venue for a party or conference.

The hotel is great and very clean. The rooms are nice and the whole facility is amazing. Price is a little high but it is the best hotel in town.

The rooms are adequate and nice but dated. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly when they realized an error was made. However, the staff seemed to "look down" on my family when we arrived and when we left. I believe this was in part because we were not "dressing the part" of an upscale Marriott customer. Overall, our stay was fine but for the cost of the rooms vs. The quality as well as the feeling of being judged as we entered and exited the hotel I'll choose somewhere else from now on.

Only had a drink at the bar. Price reasonable hour a hotel and made a very good dirty martini. Sparks restaurant is excellent from prior visits.

The stay was fine, but a few of my friends have lost some things on our stay there. A pair of shoes, earrings, and my shirt. Its just a shame to stay in a place that things arent returned when found. I liked that shirt. Wont be staying here again, for fear of losing my things forever.

Standard Marriott hotel — large and full service. Rooms nice and bed comfortable but shower was pretty bad with only Luke warm water and noisy drain. Crazy the charge $13 for Wi-Fi. At least the parking is free.

The Spartanburg Marriott is a beautiful hotel just from seeing the entrance. The event room was large and beautiful. I had a really great time!

Went to the Spartanburg Marriott for Donald Trump Primary Watch and the event starts at 8, got there at 7:15 the whole area was packed with news reporters and people. Some people were racist cause I was a different race. Mostly everyone was white. Security was rude asf but whatever never got in but the hotel was very nice thats why I gave it a 4-star.

What had happened was: the waiter dropped a slice of cheesecake on my homie's nape. Homeboy was the host and event planner too. Lolz. Actually give it another star that was some funny shenanigans. Here's the deal: Spartanburg Marriott is the best hotel and event place in Spartanburg, but there's a catch: "You're still in Spartanburg. " Have some class and dignity and stay or chill in Greenville not Spartanburg. Not the red roof inn off the interstate though. That place throws hella shade. One.

I attended a small political event in the banquet room. We had great food and great service.

My school holds their winter formal at the Marriott, and it's always a good time. The ballroom is beautiful, and the staff is always kind to take care of things.

Ok to be honest it's a pretty clean, nice hotel. The staff that I ran into were friendly and they seemed to be going out of their way to help a customer in line in front of me who had made a mistake on their reservation. This review is more about management. So why just 2 stars? Because this hotel has committed the unforgivable act of charging for the Internet. This is 2016, who does that? McDonald has free Wi-Fi, for crying out loud. I bet crappy College Inn in town has free Wi-Fi. When a hotel nickels and dimes you for things like the Internet, that's just a terrible business model and customer service, and it makes your hotel look like it belongs in a third world country. Marriott, this is for you. Stop doing stupid stuff like charging $12 for a night of internet.

It haves everything, basic, but everything, the gym its 24 hrs. And also has Sauna and Vapor, Concierge offers free breakfast and dinner, and Buffete breakfast at mornings to 11 am.

Don't bother telling anyone at desk issues you are having. Call general manager David Sanderson. If he is not aware the issue didn't exist. Don't call Mr JW Marriott. He doesn't care either. I would call Hilton hotels. You are treated with respect.

This is an outstanding Marriott property! We have stayed here several times over the years and this is the place to stay in Spartanburg. Beautiful lobby, convenient parking, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. A five star experience that is an exceptional value.

I will never come to this Marriott again. The heat in my room did not work for three (3) nights. Just got off the phone with the assistant GM and he wouldn't even offer me a nights cost off my bill. When I get home, I'm writing to Marriott corporate.
