Nice place and great location.

DO NOT STAY HERE! INCOMPETENT AND NEGLIGENT EMPLOYEES! I stayed here while in town for a friend’s wedding. I returned from the wedding and my room key did not work. The front desk employee, Lydia, was unable to unlock the room for me using many “master keys” and told me nothing could be done to get into the room that night. She told me she was stressed and needed a cigarette and walked away from helping me to do so. 2 hours later she gave us another room to sleep in and told us maintenance would be there first thing in the morning to open the door. I ended up sleeping in my contacts and the dress I wore to the wedding, unable to access any of my belongings. The next morning, I spoke with Gretta at the front desk who tells me maintenance is still working on opening the door. I sat in the lobby for another 3 hours until maintenance was able to give us access to the room. The maintenance man said “I don’t know why they didn’t call me last night. I was on call and live very close. ” All of this caused me to miss my flight home. Unfortunately, it was too late to cancel my flight for a refund, and I had to book another flight. On top of this, I asked Gretta, the front desk attendant, to kindly write her name and the attendant from the previous night’s name down for me. She proceeded to yell at me and tell me that she had just returned from vacation and the night attendant was new and that it was not their fault.

I love this place. Been here a couple of times and I can’t tell you one bad thing. Close to everything and yet far away and quiet. River view is beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was great.

Very nice, however when making reservations we asked for king bed suite on River side view, when we checked in they told us they were all taken and he had to settle for view of parking lot at same price!

Beautiful serene setting, secluded but close to town. Clean comfortable facility. The staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fresh with a good variety. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony and the common patio areas. The river views are spectacular. We will be back for sure.

Most comfortable bed we have had on our vacation so far. Beautiful location overlooking running water. We slept with our balcony door open all night as the water sang to us.

It’s on the second we checked him until the second we checked out every single aspect of this hotel was amazing.

We had a wonderful stay in a river view suite with our 8 year old son. Highly recommend upgrading to the river view balcony on 3rd floor, if possible. The hotel is very secluded and peaceful, and the sounds of the water function perfectly as white noise for awesome sleeping. Only grab and go breakfasts are available right now, due to Covid. Nice little outdoor deck areas and a even a short walking trail by the water with fire pits. Dillsboro is always such a fun, little getaway. If you’re lucky, you might get to see the Great Smoky Mountains RR trains go right by the hotel (in season) … my son loves trains. The hotel is very close to GSMR train tracks, and we (very carefully) walked down Haywood Road to see the bus/diesel wreckage from “The Fugitive. ” We also got to see many river rafters go by on the Tuckasegee River! Fun excursion. My son gives it 5 stars!

Nice rooms, great views of the river from room. They will let you have fires outside in their fire pits.

Reserved a 3rd floor with balcony before the covid even started we arrived yesterday and they said they didnt have 3rd floor with balconies available… wont be coming back. Drove 10hrs looking forward to the private balcony…

Beautiful hotel but do not stay right now, workers from the local bridge are here taking up the hotel and they are awake at 5:30 am and I guess they expect you to be awake also. On vacation, yet they have to go to work so unfortunately you can’t sleep in with the slamming of the doors and talking in the hallway that early. Hotel should have done better then to book them throughout the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We got put on the ground floor and would have preferred an upper level but it was really nice too. It is absolutely worth the extra money to get the riverside room. It is wonderful to have a balcony and the views are beautiful. We spent quite a bit of time during our stay outside sitting in the rocking chairs. Definitely recommend.

This place is so wonderful. I’m so glad we found it. Our cabin we rented a few miles from here didn’t work out so we were scrambling to find a good place to stay. We saw this place and it is wonderful. We were worried driving to it, that it wouldn’t be very nice but boy were we wrong. Beautiful balcony right over the water and my son LOVED the pool. Definitely hope to come here again!

Was there with the Florence hurricane folks, but besides that, this place is a gem. I hate to rate it so high because it will get hard to book, but they deserve every bit of it. Even the stairwells were clean, an awesome pool and hot tub, rooms that overlook the river. When you drive to it, it would seem like you're going to the construction yard, but once inside you will truly enjoy the sense of escape. If I would have to ding it for something it would be the room smelled old, but it's on the river, so humidity probably has something to do with it. Sprayed it with our Lysol and problem solved… it was really nothing. So 5 stars it is. Thos will be on my regular escape to the Mountains!

This hotel is beautiful. Staff was amazing age recommended a great local restaurant, and some amazing local views and sights. The view from the room is great. Riverfront with mountains on the horizon. Will return here whenever I'm in the area.

Great place. Evetything about the place is perfect. As long as you're splurging, ask for a river side room and you can step out and be so close to feel it. Jumping in is not recommended and could be fatal. Has child-proof barrier, but don't let little ones run wild. Very fast water at certain times of the year. Just thought of one minor negative. You have to drive past some commercial/industrial property to get there. The hotel has a big sign now, so you won't miss the turn on account of seeing the big trucks. You can't see that from the hotel. Consider it your cover.

Lovely river view, close to town, clean, comfy beds, super nice staff. It's also nice to see the same employees each visit — they're truly helpful and seem to be happy in their work. Everything looks new — towels, bathroom curtains, etc. Hotel smells clean, too, wherever you go, and that's what I want most in a hotel. The rocking chairs out back by the river are a nice escape — I'm glad we made time to use them this trip. The walk into town to eat was quick — maybe 200-300 yards? Great for Summer nights. I'll stay here each time I need a hotel in this area, if I can get a room.

Excellent slightly off the beaten path, more remote low-key relaxing location while still being close to area attractions. You won't be sorry with this hotel location venue or building newness/freshness, layout & amenities! Just be sure if you're there for more than business travel, to request a room that's rear facing if they have availability. Original room was front facing/3rd story with a view of the parking lot if you feel it necessary to keep an eye on your car. Fine for a business traveler, but you're cheating yourself if anything other not to have a rear facing room that over looks the rushing river. Immediately after check-in, upon stepping out onto the overview veranda deck; we inquired if they had availability across the hall before disturbing a thing in our given room. We were blessed to be able to have upgraded for $30 extra, & it was SO worth it! We couldn't have been happier to open our double-french doors out to our balcony & additionally enjoy the sights & sounds from there! A real treat! Excellent value & you won't be disappointed with all the extra touch amenities that are so apropos for the location!

This is an awesome hotel. Loved the location. The staff was extremely helpful. The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional. Everyone who works there makes you feel welcome. We will definitely stay here next time we are in the area.

We loved everything about this hotel. The location on the River is amazing with the view off the balcony worth every penny. The pool was warm and well kept, with a hot tub and supply of towels. There are fire pits by the river with chairs and picnic tables. Breakfast was great the kids really enjoyed the waffles and pancakes. I would highly recommend and will be back!

My wife and I just came back from a stay at Best Western in Dillsboro, NC. One word could describe them: WONDERFUL! But I'll give more info. When we got there I was extremely sick. I felt absolutely terrible. My wife told them about my being sick and they treated me like royalty! These people were so very kind and compassionate. The room was very clean. The furnishings excellent. The view from the balcony was beautiful. I so much appreciate the needed help we got from the front desk people and from house keeping staff. Upper management Please give these fine employees a pay raise! They represent your business in an outstanding manner!

This hotel was above our expectations in excellence. Staff was friendly, courteous and professional. It appeared that they truly cared about their positions, the hotel itself and in providing excellence. I am extremely picky about cleanliness and this hotel was the cleanest we have ever experienced. We have stayed at 5-star hotels that didn't match the Best Western Plus River Escape. We were extremely satisfied and thankful that we found it and we look forward to staying here every time we visit this part of NC.

Room seemed to be newly updated. Property is sparkling clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. This seems to be a team who enjoy their jobs. The location was very convenient and very quiet. We had a river view room which was also fantastic.

Great service. Pool area is indoor and very nice. Hot tub is HOT. Makes other hot tubs look like warm tubs. Rooms are very nice. Riverside is beautiful. Breakfast was everything I could need or want. You even get free cookies at the desk! Otis spunkemyer at that! Highly recommend.

Not just Best Western, it is the Best Hotel. Clean, quiet, and serene. Scenery is gorgeous, hotel is spotless, and the staff could be Marriott trainers. I hesitate to tell the public about this place because I don't want it to get booked up all the time, but that would not be fair to these very nice people. I stay in hotels all over the nation, as I travel for business, and I can honestly state that this is my favorite. I found it by accident several years ago, and I am so glad I did.

This BW is very clean, staff was pleasant and the river is beautiful. I will always stay here from now on. Shower pressure was great, bed was so comfortable I want one for my own home. Air conditioning was great and everything was so clean, the hallways and lobby were perfect. Food was good and the cold beer in the lobby for sale was a plus. Plenty of parking and did not use pool but will next time.

My family and I had a great experience at this Best Western! If you get a room with a balcony, it'll definitely be worth it… great view and calming to listen to the water flowing by! Staff was very helpful and nice… one breakfast staff member even went out of her way to get coloring books and a few crayons for my two little ones to color while eating their breakfast… kept them in their seats… nice move, thanks! We will absolutely come back to this hotel when we are back in town to visit family!

Best 'Best Western' we have stayed at. Clean, great views of the river, great value. Would have 5 stars if you could add items from the pantry to your room, but they have a 'cash-only' rule for purchases under $10. Many people don't carry cash, I could understand cash only under 2 or 3 bucks to cover merchant fees but 10 is too much.

It was a delightful treat. I felt like I was at a resort. All the staff demonstrated true southern hospitality. The room was spacious and the view, sound was amazing.

A great hotel with friendly, helpful employees. We have stayed here many times on trips to Western N. Carolina. There are other choices in the area, but we love the location on the river, the updated amenities and the friendly staff. We highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful clean hotel with a nice view of the river. Clean hotel with nice decor in the lobby. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The fitness room had a machine that was not working, but overall a great stay.

This hotel stay came at the end of a six-week trip that involved lots of hotels, and lots of Best Westerns. This was my favorite room of all, and I stayed in some very nice ones. The room was spacious, well-designed and sparkling clean. The bed was comfy, the fridge was good (though there was no freezer), and the internet was smooth. At breakfast, I went out onto the deck and watched the river flow, and that was really special. Breakfast was good, too, with bacon and sausage, a rarity. The only issue I would raise is the bizarre location of the hotel, which of course can't be changed, and the inadequate signage, which really could be improved. You do not reach the hotel through the parking lot of the fast-food place on the corner, but by driving down the street, turning onto a small side street, and then driving over railroad tracks and past an industrial business. It's worth searching this one out.

The hotel is located right by the river and that was great. Very nice to sit on your own deck and listen. But the rooms could use an update. The pool and got fun was nice but we didn't get to enjoy it long because they booked a birthday party that was going on while we were there. We left because it was too crowded and loud.

Really lovely, scenic location. Excellent decor. Room was very clean, sheets were nice and crisp. I will definitely stay at this location again in the future and seek out other Best Western Plus hotels on other trips.

This place is a hidden gem! Super clean… awesome staff… great views on the river side. Beds and pillows were great. Breakfast was fantastic and free! With an indoor pool and hot tub! They even have everything you need to make your own fire outside… wood, starters, nice fire pits. Highly recommended!

Room and facility was nice. The indoor pool was great for the kids during our winter stay. If you like firm pillows, bring your own. The ones one the bed we're much too soft for me.

Convenient location for fly-fishing weekend escapes. A short drive to several excellent fishing spots (which I won't divulge). Not sure there's any other reason to stay here. Nothing fancy about the hotel.

People very polite an friendly, rooms nice and spacious, nice TV and beds. Great view of river sitting on patio. Love the town of Dillsboro. The breakfast was excellent, full breakfast! Nice view of the mountains. We enjoyed it very much! We think Dillsboro is our favorite Best Western.

Paid $100 extra for balcony/terrace which I did not receive and they were booked so no upgrade was possible and no discount recieved. Rooms are much smaller than they look in the pictures. Overlooked the parking lot. Bed felt like a queen size roll away cot. The bathroom seemed updated but not the room itself. The river was a nice view for those lucky to have one. Priced above what it should be for the room quality.

The hotel sits on the river. We enjoyed sitting by the river and talking while the cool breezes blew. Good restaurants are. 2 miles away in Dillsboro. Sylva is only 2 miles away. We found several places to hike within 30 minutes of the hotel. Some were easy hikes and others challenging. Very friendly staff and they were extremely helpful at finding restaurants and activities. Sitting by the river in the moonlight was so refreshing.

Beautiful property with all of the right amenities, including indoor pool/hot tub and a fire pit right beside the riverbank. Great attention to detail and the perfect mountain place to get away from it all. Rooms overlooking the river at a great price. I'm sure this well-kept secret won't be for very much longer.

I would highly recommend this Best Western Plus. The river view is relaxing and breakfast on the deck a treat. The rooms are clean and comfy. I can't even begin to tell you how friendly and helpful the staff are, especially Jay who went above and beyond his duties to be of assistance to me and my family.

Beautiful motel! Always clean and it has a great staff. Will be coming back to this area twice in October but unfortunately we will not be able to stay due to the large increase in rates for the fall. Looking forward to staying here in the future!

This is a great place to stay when you are in the Dillsboro area. The hotel is located right by the river and the views are amazing. The hotel appears brand new and the staff is just awesome. Highly recommend!

Charming hotel tucked away by the river, but also very accessible to downtown Sylva. Service was friendly and staff also offered complimentary tickets to the local college football game. The suite was quite roomy, and included a Jacuzzi and a private patio with a view of the water. Overall, the entire experience was outstanding.

This is a great place to stay. Close to Smokies and Blue Ridge Parkway. The environment along the river away from town is wonderful. From our room, we saw a great blue heron fishing along the river several days. Staff are great. Breakfast is great.

We had a great experience at Best Western in Dillsboro. We had a 2nd story room on the river side and thoroughly enjoyed hearing and watching the river and all the activity (both human and animal. ) The staff at the hotel are very friendly. The room was clean and well-stocked with towels, toiletries, etc. The free breakfast was not that great and it was crowded with lots of guests. The staff did their best to keep up. Looks to be pre-made food that is microwaved and held in heated serving/display containers. Good coffee is non-existent in this area, might just bring my own coffee and coffee maker next time! The location cannot be beat. Asheville, WCU, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee, Great Smoky Mountains, and Gatlinburg are just a few miles away. It was noisy around the hotel. There is a quarry (yes, a QUARRY! ) across the river and the dump trucks started at 7:30am and were loud! All in all, it was a great vacation and we will stay at Best Western Plus River Inn again.

We didn't plan to spend the night in the area but I got a severe migraine while traveling with my two young children. We booked the room at a good price considering the holiday weekend. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the view of the river was beautiful, and everything was very clean. Once I got feeling better we were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub and the breakfast was good and had lots of choices. Oh, and the mini store with snacks and microwave Mac n cheese saved the day because I couldn't drive. It was fun watching the kayaks and rafts going by in the morning.

Stayed there for a visit at WNC. The rooms were nice and check in was wonderful. However the breakfast was horrible. They have a sign that says build your own sandwich picturing scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. There were no eggs out at 8:30 (we had to ask and it took 20 min. ), no bacon, the pancake machine kept failing and th e OJ was watered down. When the eggs did come out they were tasteless omelets (kind of hard to make a sandwich with anyway) never saw any bacon. Needless to say we had to go out for breakfast. Don't know if I will stay here again…

This hotel is great. I loved the whole theme and color scheme. The to was great. Nice and clean. The lady at the front (I don't remember her name) was very friendly and made the check in quick. Will definitely be booking here again. Oh and it's about 15 miles from the casino!

The room was great. Balcony with river view. It was amazing to be able just open the balcony door and enjoy the wonder of nature from the room. The staff is friendly, helpful & courteous. I got a great rate considering how I booked it so last minute. And they serve a really good breakfast. Waffles, pancakes, eggs & so much more. There's something for everyone! And they make the food fresh up to the last minute. The pool doesn't go too deep (3ft — 4ft — 4ft 9in) but it was clean, well stocked with towels and the Jacuzzi was amazing.! Hotel is not much of a drive from the casino. It's a bit of a drive (25-35min) to either soco falls or mingo falls but it's totally worth it. The waterfalls are great & coming back to a great room at the hotel at night is the best. This place is AMAZING! It's a must stay and i'd definitely go back.

The place was very nice, the people were very nice, and the room was very comfortable.

A bit hard to find the first time. Seems like ut is only a few years old and it is right on the river. Indoor pool and hot tub is nice as well. Only 20 mins. To Cherokee — close but not too close.

Great stay if you get river side.

I was traveling to the Greater Asheville are for business and we ended up staying at Best Western Plus River Escape Inn & Suites for close to 10 days. In my 10 days at this location I was given exceptional customer support by two people: Katie (who was new) and Erik (who was an amazing person). Rooms were really nice and VERY clean. I left my room in the morning in a complete mess and came back every evening to a perfect room, apart from my things which were exactly where I wanted them. Everyone was very thoughtful. One problem. The pool water was a little on the cold side, and the hot tub didn't work. They spent close to a week getting people there to fix it but there was a persistent problem. They assured me that this WILL be fixed for my next stay however. Average breakfast, but what can you really expect? The problem was that there weren't that many Vegetarian (eggless) options. Wifi was decent but got slow at night when everyone was online. Dryer and washing machine worked great. No complaints. Oh, did I mention that the location was AMAZING?

Nice rooms but got chared twice for one night. Not cool. And they make it hard to get the issue resolved.

Hotel is in the process of remodeling. They are doing a beautiful job. Brand new carpet and tile flooring. Very well remodeled bathrooms in room with granite countertops and updated faucet Not completely done but once it's done this will be a great hotel to stay at. The location is gorgeous. Get a river front room and you will have a great stay.

Great location for touring the area. The back patio overlooking the river is pretty relaxing after a day of hiking. The free breakfast is marginal at best. The room we stayed in was freshly painted and still smelled like paint. (They were getting ready for their busy season. ) The room definitely needs some upgrades. There weren't enough plugs available for charging multiple electronics. We've stayed twice and will go back again. Just don't think you're getting a four star hotel.
