DO NOT STAY HERE! INCOMPETENT AND NEGLIGENT EMPLOYEES! I stayed here while in town for a friend’s wedding. I returned from the wedding and my room key did not work. The front desk employee, Lydia, was unable to unlock the room for me using many “master keys” and told me nothing could be done to get into the room that night. She told me she was stressed and needed a cigarette and walked away from helping me to do so. 2 hours later she gave us another room to sleep in and told us maintenance would be there first thing in the morning to open the door. I ended up sleeping in my contacts and the dress I wore to the wedding, unable to access any of my belongings. The next morning, I spoke with Gretta at the front desk who tells me maintenance is still working on opening the door. I sat in the lobby for another 3 hours until maintenance was able to give us access to the room. The maintenance man said “I don’t know why they didn’t call me last night. I was on call and live very close. ” All of this caused me to miss my flight home. Unfortunately, it was too late to cancel my flight for a refund, and I had to book another flight. On top of this, I asked Gretta, the front desk attendant, to kindly write her name and the attendant from the previous night’s name down for me. She proceeded to yell at me and tell me that she had just returned from vacation and the night attendant was new and that it was not their fault. I spoke with Best Western customer care to report the horrific incident. I was told I would get a response to my simple request to reimburse me for my flights in 2-5 days. I had to call back several times over the course of 3 months and was finally told that it could not be done. What was supposed to be a great weekend celebrating a close friend, turned into a nightmare. I find it absurd that I did not receive an apology of any kind and that Best Western could not right its wrongs.
