Excellent place to stay while in Rome. All the shopping and restaurants are walking distance and the Fort is next door.

The first room had fleas which I noticed when I had 2 biting my foot an hour after I checked in, and then management argued with me about it when I clearly showed them to them in the toilet where I put them. They then moved us into a second room, which had god knows what on the table and hair in the tub. When I told management the room was dirty and they smirked at me. I checked out. And wont be back.

We had to stop here because we could not drive any further after being in the car for 8 hours. We had our dog with us so they made us stay in a smoking room. It was absolutely disgusting. All three of us now smell of a high school drop out. They also charged us 25 bucks extra because we had the dog. They should pay us for spending a night in that torture chamber. Youre better off sleeping in your car. Don't go here.

Needed a place to stay over on a Friday night to pick up my daughter early Saturday morning. Room was clean, pleasant and up to date. Having Denny's in the building made dinner and breakfast trivial. Don't forget to show your room key for 10% off at Denny's. Planning on staying here again whenever I need to pick up a kid from camp.

In strong need of renovation and updates. Pool was closed and full of green water. Front desk was helpful with extra towels, but we also had a billing issue which it seemed depended on who was working as to whether the final rate would match our initially quoted rate. They're also initially added some other rooms to our group of rooms. Would probably stay elsewhere next time.

The price is good and reasonable but the customer service poor and the state of the rooms we stayed in were very poor. The only written description I can accurately give is that of it being a slum motel in the likes of an NYC hourly room rental.

The room was comfortable, and the conveniently attached Denny's was great for food any time. For the price the room was very reasonable and there was a decent amount of parking although you may not get a space without a short walk to your room. The bathtub was suprisingly big — enough that my wife could bathe comfortably. The room wasn't aesthetically pleasing but functional. My only gripe is with the swarm of weirdos and druggies who seemed to wander about due to the 24 hour Denny's. Creepy.

It has been four years since I last stayed here. But I have stayed in numerous hotels across the country and up and down the eastern border and never once has one of them told me that they were going to charge me for a lost piece of plastic. That piece of plastic I'm talking about is your key card. The guy at the front desk had the nerve to tell me because we couldn't find one of our key cards that they were going to charge us $10. I told him it was ridiculous because people lose them all the time. I also told him that I know that they buy them in bulk and that it's not going to cost them that much money. He retorted back well they cost us $2.50 sir. I said $2.50 and you're going to charge me $10 for a lost one that is ridiculous. Thankfully my wife found the lost key card in our car and we were able to return it. We will not be staying here when we come back in the next few weeks.

I got in late and Cindy at the check in desk was pleasant, accommodating, professional, and informative. The room is small, the bedspreads are stained and have burn holes in them. The bathroom is full of burn holes. The fridge in the room is on a sawed off piece of pallet. The toilet takes a couple flushes to "complete the task" to put it politely. Cindy at the front desk is the only reason I gave this a 4. The room is a 1star, the employees get the rest…

This hotel is "OK" for one night, maybe two at the most. Just not one I would recommend for long stays. It is close to downtown Rome, the Fort and other attractions. Plenty of good food nearby in walking distance. For this is why I give it the rating I did.

I went here for the Dennis that's rigth behind it was relly nice food and service would love to go here again.

Oh gawd where do I not start. Stay away from this hotel. If you're a trucker, don't have a sleeper, and looking for a place with 24/7 breakfast? Denny's is hooked up with the hotel. That is probably the only good thing I can say about this place. Other then the tubs not draining, the nail on the floor holding the carpet down was sticking out (isn't that a lawsuit if someone gets cut), I would say… Stay the hell away! I still have a letter to write about the rooms we booked. FYI if corporate is reading this, I took pictures and videos. You're welcome in advance.

I spent the weekend here with my friends. I was pleased with the updated room, solid amenities and management was really friendly. The owner personally showed us to our room and let me know that I could contact him directly if there were any problems. A++ experience, Highly recommended!

I stayed here a week, was really close to atterations. Front desk was nice. Rooms are very comfortable and cozy. Worth staying at.

Ok where should I start when me and my family walked into the non smoking room on the first floor it smelled like a thrift store it had a real musty smell in the room overall and the beds had no debri on the sheets and comforter but it had a weird smell though thank god I’m not howie mandel. Now to the bathroom it looked really outdated with toilet paper on the ceiling and the bathtub had something in it that looked like kitty litter some sort of little pebbles. The jury is still out what it was! Overall this place is a great spot to take a low budget hooker! If this review helped you in anyway please like.

Room was clean and comfortable and had fridge microwave hairdryer and coffee maker. No breakfast but 10% off Denny's in the hotel. Staff was friendly.

I was at this Inn this afternoon, about 4:30. My truck had broken down and was right in the parking lot. I asked the man behind behind the desk if I could use the phone to make a local call to get help. He asked if I had a room and I said "no, my truck just broke down and I need to get some help". He pointedly said "NO". A desk manager who is unwilling to help a traveler, regardless if they have a room in their inn is no place I want to stay! I have owned and operated a business in Rome for 40 years next April and have never seen anyone in this town be so callous to a person in need of assistance and certainly hope this is not normal for Quality Inns. I will tell everyone I know or do business with of this experience and certainly make sure none of my or my business's guests stay here! My wife and I travel frequently and I will certainly think twice about staying at any other Quality Inn.

Choice motel standards are inconsistent. Some are cleaner than others, better maintained. This is not one of those; it's pn the lower end of scale. It also has poor sound insulation.

I am very happy here. I have a very nice room at a very reasonable price. The gentleman who rented my room was very professional, it is quiet I am here fri to sun and have my do not disturb sign out so wont see house keeping.

Fraudulent, combative staff. I mistakenly made a reservation for the wrong date, which was needed for a funeral. Within minutes of making the reservation I realized my mistake and called to change the date. I was told that they would not change the reservation and that I would be charged. I called both customer support AND customer relations for Choice Hotels who also couldn't get the staff to agree to change the reservation. My credit card was charged. DO NOT STAY HERE — you WILL be ripped off by these unethical people.

We have been staying at this Quality Inn Rome, NY since 2000. I always find good deals and very Friendly staff. Recently they have very comfy comforters and new Carpet and refrigerator in every room, new granite counter top and marble floor. Owners are really spending a lot of money to make this place better and better. They have brand new 32” LCD Flat Panel HD TV in all the rooms in King Wing.

Love the lady @ the front desk… a real sweetheart. Great to have Denny's Diner connected, Walgreen's across the street, Franklin motel (slammin' food) nearby… and! They have a pool!

I got a room there. When I checked out I check my checking account to make sure everything went through and they charge me an extra $25 saying I took a pillow. Tried getting a hold of the manager the next day three days later I finally got a hold of him. He argued with me on the phone saying housekeeping said I took the pillow. And I know I didn't. I recommend not staying there this must be how they pay their bills by screwing their customers over.

The Quality Inn in Rome, NY, is in a deplorable state of disrepair. The rubber baseboards are separating from the walls; the carpet is incredibly gritty; the lighting is either too bright or too dim; and the smell is damp and musty. All of the rooms need to be stripped entirely, cleaned, and refurbished. It's like a trip back to 1947. There is exactly one event per year in downtown Rome (Capitolfest) to bring any customers; the rest of the time, the hotel must live on the charity of the state. The only reason we stay there is its closeness to Capitolfest, and that reason becomes less compelling as the hotel deteriorates. If the hotel is redone, consideration should be given to putting all bathroom fixtures in one room closed off from the main bedroom and to making the bath/shower more accessible and ADA-compliant. If the hotel is not redone, it should be sold or torn down. No quality here.

We're here because of Capitolfest — a three-day marathon of oldie movies. The location is perfect, about a half mile from the theater. The Inn itself has seen much better days — but the staff is very friendly and the room clean.

A close friend of mine was in town visiting with her 6 year old son. She did not have a reservation and paid $126 cash. The first room they gave her had blood stains on the sheets. So she asked for a different room and that room had stains on the sheets as well that resembled other bodily fluids. She asked for a refund only have been there for a total of 30 minutes and was refused. Then was denied a receipt and the ability to talk with the manager. She was forced then to spend the night at our house as they would not provide her with any other accommodations or a refund. I spent hours on the phone with corporate and in the end they refused to help her out as well. I will not and do not recommend any Choice Hotel brands. I will notify all businesses and associates of this matter and hope that they and you take my recommendation to heart.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The only thing they need to fix is the exterior of the place. It looks like they have no grounds keeper. Weedy flower beds, pool towels and old cups left around. My 8 months pregnant daughter tripped on a loose tile and fell. She mentioned it but no one on staff seemed concerned. I put up this review in hopes they'll deal with those issues. Generally we were happy with our stay.

If in a pitch, this place works well.
Mirror boarder was falling down, baseboard in bathroom was peeling of the wall, ceiling tiles starting to shift and fall, run did not drain.
If stayed in worse, but the over all condition inside the rooms does not portray what you see from the outside.

DO NOT — DO NOT — DO NOT book this hotel! The absolute worst! I reserved a 2 bed Non Smoking room. I arrived and they gave me a Preferred Smoking room with ONE bed. Wouldn't give me another room OR a refund. I had to buy 3 air fresheners which didn't help much. I got only 2 hours sleep and got very sick and almost threw up from the smell in the room. I had to book another hotel nearby on the next night! Don't say I didn't warn you!

Called at 3am while having car troubles, and the manager offered us a $10 discount and was extremely friendly. For $80 we sort of expected a nasty room, but it was a pleasant surprise to find a clean room and no sketchy characters. Definitely one of the better cheap hotels I've been to.

Nice place to stay. The management was really friendly. The rooms are more than what we expected. If you wana find a good motel with low budget, go for this. It is located right in the centre of downtown rome and with the dennys open always, its a nice place to stay.

Wet carpet and smell bad, poor internet connection (Wi-Fi), they said non-smoke room, but not.

Well this place is nice but for a night stay the rate is a little steep. Make sure you do not give them your card through. Been waiting a week for them to drop and authorization on my bank and that seems a little ridiculous.

A few years ago. Toilet trouble; maintenance (the manager) took forever! If you find yourself here, skip Dennys and go to Coalyard Charlies. A lot less boring and better menu.

I only stay here when come to visit from Florida.

Fraudulent charges after I wasn't supposed to be charged at all! As the reviewer below did, I also had fraudulent charges on my card and we were never supposed to be charged in the first place as we didn't even end up staying in this filth hole. We'd been traveling all day and were exhausted and hungry. We checked in at this hotel and went immediately to eat. After eating (about an hour later) we went back to the hotel to settle in. It was our fault for not immediately checking out the room after checking in but our toddler son was more than ready to eat so we opted to do that before going to our room — BIG MISTAKE! The room was filthy — carpet needed vacuuming badly, hair in bathroom, etc. I went directly out to the desk and told them we weren't staying and at first was given a hard time but in the end told we hadn't been charged — yeah right. We continued on with our vacation but I should have listened to the sick feeling in my gut and immediately cancelled my card upon leaving the hotel. When we returned home from our trip we got a call from our bank about suspicious activity on our card — not only were we charged for the night we didn't stay but were charged a total of six times over. I immediately called the hotel and got the run around. We were told that we were charged because we messed up the room?!? We weren't in that room 5 minutes and didn't touch a thing (nor would I have because it was so disgusting). They claimed to not know about the other charges.
