Reviews of Conrad New York Midtown 5*
Great service and amenities.
Beautiful hotel nice location great service and hospitality.
DO NOT STAY HERE! Only one elevator working allegedly due to construction. Always takes 10-15 minutes for an elevator in any direction. Television not working, housekeeping very inadequate. We called the front desk to inquire about the elevators (the one functioning elevator is crowded, probably beyond safety rules) and it took 15 minutes to get the call answered.
Very nice place to stay, excellent hospitality.
LIAR! I called to ask if they have a sofa bed for all suits, and they confirmed. When I got a non-refundable ticket 5-minutes later, they told me "hey fun fact, the suits don't always have a sofa bed because they just renovated. " Liar! In fact, I have recordings confirming how 2 agents give you completely opposite information before and after you booked with them. I am truly grateful. Life is a learning experience, people like them made me a better and more cunning person.
It is a wonderful clean and beautifully designed and I think that so many people could come and check it out the rooms are beautiful and so is the lobby but that is not all because the bathrooms are also as wonderful as you think they might be I hope you enjoy the London hotel.
My husband and I just stayed here for a night. The rooms are great, they are spacious. The shower was also very big. Good location, and friendly staff. I was so impressed by the size of the room. It made our stay very comfortable. The only negative I could say is it is slightly outdated in decor. Other than that everything was perfect, we had a great time and I would definitely stay here again.
Great location! Service started with valet. He memorized our names, flagged us cabs each day and always asked how we were doing. 5 Star Service from this guy! Hotel was clean, check in was a breeze, restaurant downstairs was good. Ate breakfast 2 mornings there. Large buffet and good selection of menu items — a little pricey. I’m a big Hilton Honors fan for work. Just as good if not better for non work travel. Using points to take my daughter ion a fun NYC trip before sending her off to college. We had the 2 twin London flat which had a great sitting area! Also love the nightly room refresh! Thanks @hilton!
If I could give it 4.5 Stars I would. The London is a top notch hotel with large guest rooms and service that is both understated and attentive. But, there are quirky elements to this hotel that will hopefully be fixed once the renovations begin in October. For one, the rooms do not have closets. The bedroom always seems to look cluttered especially if more than one person in the room for a longer stay. Second — I have never seen larger bathrooms in a hotel yet no tub. Instead a shower oasis that is way oversized and a waste. The restaurant is excellent and the staff is friendly. Oh, and if you are lucky enough to get an upper floor room on the west side of the building, the views of Central Park are spectacular.
Stayed in a London Vista Suite. Plenty of space and the view was fantastic. Upper west side Skyline, GW Bridge and Central Park.
This was my first visit to NYC and the London was such a treat. We were 3 ladies on a sister getaway! Not only was the location perfect, but the suite was beautiful with breathtaking views. We were within a 10 minute walk to both Central Park and Times Square. All staff were warm and welcoming, turn down service was offered every evening and umbrellas on rainy day. Loved it!
The positives: Great location, good rooms, and a wonderful staff. One point off for not having coffee available in the room. If you order the smallest coffee, it's $25 with room service charges. Second point off is maintenance. One of the bathroom lights was out, I reported it and it was not fixed. The edge of the shelf below the closet area is old and gave me a big splinter. A great property but getting long in the tooth and still very expensive.
Dining in the bar is a pleasant experience. The enjoyable meals on the limited menu are fine. The best dining is inn the dining room, which can be luxurious. Sometimes it's worth it to have professional waiters. We left satisfied for our third meal here.
Very happy with this hotel. Great, upscale experience and service. The London Apartments are much larger than expected in NY @ 1700 sq ft, so pleasantly surprised. After a horrible experience across the street at the Hilton Club the London NYC has retained my loyalty to the Hilton / Conrad brand. Highly recommend this hotel.
Great location just south of central park. Little direct view of the park, but gray views of the city. Close to the theater district. Plenty of walking opportunities. These are the most spacious rooms in New York City. Impeccable service. Great food and drinks in the lobby bar/restaurant. Wish it was a bit cheaper, and we'd stay here on more than just special occasions.
Shoddy customer service and attempt to double charge for hotel room
I booked a room in this hotel through Hotels_com on March 7, 2018.
…
I paid online for the room and received confirmation number.
However, when I went to the hotel, the front desk person (Miguel) had no record of my booking.
He had to call Hotels_com and get a fax confirmation of my booking.
I gave my credit card information at the front desk for security deposit. It took half an hour to resolve the room booking.
There is no point of instant online booking using the internet, if the hotel is using antiquated technology like fax to confirm booking.
I stayed overnight and checked out next morning at around 7:30 AM.
After 4 days, I received a fraud alert from my credit card company that I was being charged by the hotel again for the hotel room.
I contacted the front desk (Jocelyn) again and disputed the charges, and finally got the charges removed from my credit card.
I find it very disturbing that they used my credit card information without my permission to double charge for my pre-paid room.
The credit card information was meant for security deposit and was not meant to be mis-used.
This hotel needs more work on improving its customer service and infrastructure.
I LOVE this hotel! Stayed here the past three visits to NY. Close to everything. Staff remembers me every time. Service is perfect. All rooms are suites & spacious. Great if u need separate space, hard to find in most NY hotels. Lost my wallet & staff took the time to help me & saved it in security. Girls, the lighting in the bathroom is fabulous & they give you a make up mirror. No UGLY florescent lighting here! Love this property!
A hotel definitely some of the best service atmosphere food all perfect really recommend it for your parties and events The view is also awesome I would definitely like to go back for a night and have a great time.
Rooms were large. Beds were comfortable. Rain shower head was nice too. The service was good too. I ate at the restaurant for breakfast and they were very nice.
Really like it here. We have a "standard room" which is quite large for a NYC hotel room. Love the automatic blinds with backlighting. Also the fresh marble tile in the bathroom is very soothing. The hotel noticed that I was traveling with my 5 year old daughter and sent up some cookies with glasses of milk. Love little touches like this. Thanks for the hospitality!
First of all is the UNBELIEVABLE greetting you receive from Johnnie, the iconic Doorman/Greeter. The reception by name just socks you into the reception area. Once again, the enthusiasm, genuine and warmth helps you settle into the most incredible room away from home experience. Large, plush, comfortable needs in large inviting rooms take you to a far away land. The exquisite Gordon Ramsey restaurant is just another deal clincher.
Stayed here for the first time after considering several times. Will definitely be back. The staff are perhaps the most professional and nicest I’ve experienced at any hotel in Manhattan, based on dozens of hotels and hundreds of nights over many years. The rooms are decently sized by Manhattan standards, and well appointed. Does have a definite European feel compared to typical American brands. If that’s you’re thing, you’ll love it.
I'm torn about writing this review. The London NYC is probably my new favorite Manhattan hotel, but like lots of other places in Manhattan I'm hesitant to praise them too heavily lest it become so popular I have a hard time going there any more. The staff are competent. The physical building is well located and small enough to navigate quickly. The rooms are well-sized. You can stay *lots* more inexpensively elsewhere, or far more dearly as well. To me, this hotel hits the right mark for value.
Easy to find and close to Time Square! Excellent accommodations and very friendly staff. Kristina had many great ideas just not enough time in NYC.
This was our second stay at The London NYC, the first one was about 11 years ago. Unbeknown to us, it was acquired by Hilton this past fall and will be one of their upscale Conrad brands. We were totally pleased with this establishment. EVERY single one of their staff, from the doormen, to the front desk personnel, to the bar staff, to the restaurant servers and managers were EXTREMELY friendly, courteous, and conversive. Our room was an incredible mini-suite on the 45th floor with incredible views and a very comfortable bed. We had the breakfast buffet this morning which was expansive, delicious, and included bottomless coffee and fresh juices. It is a bit tired, but we were informed that the hotel will be completely renovated during 2018, so I look forward to returning and seeing the new changes. This is our benchmark for hotels in NYC and look forward to returning again in the near future! Keep up the great work!
I stayed here for a few days between Christmas and New Year's. The room had a large sitting area and it was much appreciated. The restaurant was fine for breakfast and drinks and never got too busy. The bathroom was the only negative, as there was not enough counter space and the shower could not be operated without causing a flood on the ground.
Beautiful suite and lovely staff! Would definitely recommend.
One of the worst hotels I’ve ever experienced. Making the reservations went well & communicating with them beforehand. But when we entered, they were disorganized & didn’t have my reservation all together (6 rooms). Then the cost wasn’t what they sent me ahead of time. Then they tried to put 2 members of my delegation in the same room. Then they charged me for 7 rooms, although we were 6. Then they couldn’t resolve it and told me it was my problem. The entire time they kept trying to blame me. I am stuck here with my delegation until Saturday and we’re all anxious and disappointed. Also my room is dirty and run down (look at pics), but I don’t even want to say anything because I’m assuming it’ll get worse. For $600/night, yeah, I get it’s in a good location, but I still expect more. I keep wondering why I didn’t just take us all to a Kimpton, or ask Rosewood DC if they had a sister hotel in Manhattan.
Have stopped by this hotel a couple of times for work as sometimes they host several trade shows and boutiques. There is also a restaurant downstairs where you can enjoy drinks or a meal. High end hotel close to central park, several restaurants and shopping.
Our stay at the hotel was average. For the price point, I did expect better. We got a 2-bedroom suite last minute, so we did get a deal on the room. The room itself was average, but no coffee centers in the rooms. We got locked out of our room one night, and it took 2 visits to the front desk and over 30 minutes later to get security to let us into our room. The location is great though and the beds were comfortable.
I had a 4 night stay in one of their suites. I'll never stay at the London again. Pros: Good location. Comfortable beds. Friendly bell hops, doormen. One or two of the concierges are very nice. Decent gym. Cons: No water bottles in your room. No coffee machine or no ability to make hot water. I went down to the restaurant and asked for hot water and they told me to order it via room service. What a pain. No spa. This is supposed to be an upscale hotel, not a boutique hotel. What full fledged upscale hotel doesn't have a spa? My friend had a sore back. I said go to the spa and get a massage. There was none. Terrible restaurant. Objectively, most of the food on the menu is sub-par and overpriced. I ate lunch yesterday at the St. Regis. It was delicious. I ate lunch this afternoon at the restaurant in this hotel — — disappointing. The wine: I had a badly overpriced glass of Artemis cabernet that was poorly kept. How do I know this? Because I had a bottle of it yesterday evening and at least that was good. Rather poor, limited selection of wines by both the bottle and the glass. In-room: Light and window controls that aren't particularly intuitive. The air conditioning is great and very cold, but rattles super loud at night. Nice, big bathrooms and showers (at least in suites). Rooms a bit dated and could use an overhaul, but on the whole decent and spacious. Other: No lobby. Absolutely none. Nowhere to just sit and relax when you're going in and out.
Worst hotel I have ever experienced in any country at any price point. Holiday Inn is significantly better. It’s amateur hour at this hotel. Initially put us in a room that was already occupied. Then told us they only had a room with twin beds — not double beds but twin beds. No hand towels in our room. Missing a curtain as well. Every time I went down to discuss the current problem with the front desk I had to wait in line while another guest complained about a different problem. Truly a surreal and horrible experience. Hopefully they will fail and a more competent flag will buy the property. Please go somewhere else for your own good.
It's not often that your asked to pay these prices in a city with a great culinary and hospitality scene that you get worse service than the New York City subway. We hosted several guests at the hotel and sought out the events manager on multiple occasions via telephone and email to host an events — an we received absolutely no reply. I believe that a large part of a culinary experience is service and here they fail miserably.
Great room. Quiet. A little pricey for a to go glad of wine. Very close to 3 subway trains. Close to Times Square. Fairly close to Central Park. Will stay here again.
I've been coming to The London NYC for years. It "once" was GREAT HOTEL. It has change so very much:front desk people are arrogant and sarcastic, the rooms have gone down hill dramatically:showers old and tiles coming apart and smelly, the towels felt like sandpaper, and the room just smelled. The concierge staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The clientele has changed drastically: there were huge droves of "thugs" and hooker like women hanging in the lobby and in front of the hotel. I guess if I wanted to buy some drugs or patronize the oldest profession in the world, it would have been a fun trip. Alas, I will not be returning until they get their act together and spruce up the place a little! There are too many great hotels in NYC.
This aging Midtown hotel has large suites suitable for families and a convenient location. Staff are super friendly and helpful but this is not a 5 star luxury hotel by any stretch. As of 2017, rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment, carpets are worn and upholstery ripped in places, tho bathrooms have been redone more recently and are clean and modern. Suites in the middle of Manhattan for a somewhat reasonable price are awesome, tho.
I just ate at the restaurant. The atmosphere was light and the decor was elegant. The waiters were very polite and helpful. I loves the food, everything was delicious. It is a bit on the pricey side but I believe it's worth every penny.
The staff were friendly, but that's about the only positive point I can think of. It's a tired hotel badly in need of renovation. The room service food was very poor and very overpriced. I was given insufficient and old toiletries in my room. The shower was stained. The light fittings are awkward to use. The room service menu, supposedly on the TV, was actually a scruffy photocopy shoved in the desk drawer. There was no ice available for the mini bar. The mini bar prices weren't shown. I wasn't offered any help with my luggage. Nothing spectacularly wrong, but all these little annoying issues mean I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel. Oh, and I had to call four times and be put through to about five different people, as well as just being cut off once, when I wanted to amend my booking by phone because my flight was delayed a day.
Location extra! Spacious rooms with view of crazy! (Floor higher of course)
Nice staff smiling and attentive
Bathroom with bath and shower
Bedding at the top and that feels good. Beyond that this hotel has seen our first romantic getaway with my spouse, but also his marriage proposal… so that beautiful memories in this idyllic place that inspired me to places of my book.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around… We had a king suite on 42nd Floor look into words Central Park. Very beautiful room, with sitting area where you can just sit and look at the view for hours. A big tall building is blocking Central Park, but if you like Windows and the building's you will love this. Restaurant downstairs offers good food. Chill atmosphere without too much uptight. Would come back without second thoughts.

I don't usually go to hotel bars but have to say I would definitely come back. The ambience is very cool, the dessert was pretty good… pricey but delicious.
The HISTORY of THE … Hotel THE LONDON NYC … The FRIENDSHIP and the good TASTE always lasts a very long TIME thanks marcel.
Room was fantastic. Service was great as always. Breakfast was on point and got some good food in my system before my early trip home. Will be back!
Staff was accommodating. Bathrooms are a bit small and the showers are kind of weird, they don't have a door. There's little to no lights which is a bit disappointing since it gets dark so early.
The food good, but the waiter chased me up the street to push myself to tip, although it is not deserved.
I have personally never stayed her, but have used their rooms as a make shift office when needed for my freelance jobs. The rooms are all spacious and feel like a one bedroom apartments. Depending where you are facing, you might get an amazing view or an office building. Regardless, the rooms get amazing lighting thanks to their huge windows. The hotel is very clean and is very upscale. The housekeeping staff is very friendly and have always helped us with our random requests. The company I freelance for always uses this hotel whenever they are in town!
Amazing hotel, the staffs were professional and helpful. The rooms are clean and equipped with luxury items in the room. Everything was high tech. Room service here is super fast and efficient. The bar downstairs was good also a bit pricy on the drinks. The food was amazing. Dessert was wonderful. Bartender was very impressive and helpful. Overall great experience and will be coming back soon. The price for a night for a room can range from 275-1000 dollars.
Went to the bar on a friday… was impressed with the dessert presentation. My buddy ordered a salad which was sloppily plated. Surely not as meticulously arranged as the dessert. The bartender was very cool. Friendly and knew his drinks.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were very nice and clean. The rooms service was very good as was the food. Stayed for two nights and had no complaints what so ever. It's location is great so you can walk to central park and time square (in between the two) about 15 ride to One World Trade Center.
We stayed for one night for my birthday in a suite on the 31st floor. The room was great — large and with awesome views uptown! The hotel was accommodating in allowing us to drop bags early, check in early and came through with late check-out Sunday. The staff were attentive and helpful. We had lunch there with unique, well-made cocktails and solid food. Breakfast on Sunday was an elaborate buffet. Our server both times remembered us and was great. Highly recommend for a luxury hotel in this area.
If you're trying to find a really great deal on this amazing hotel I'd highly suggest booking it through HotelRaven. Com They have great deals for it on there! Such a perfect place don't have enough great things to say! Allowed us to check in 5 hours early! Amazing room with beautiful views. Shower and bathroom were magnificent. Well worth the price. Close enough to everything but far enough to very so slightly escape people. Only complains were the maids. Came in three times a day including one night at 9:30pm. Was not given a Do Not Disturb sign and had to keep locking the door. Still didn't get the memo apparently. But wondeful place, otherwise treated great. Definitely will stay again.

This hotel is in serious need of repair. We were moved 3 times due to over-active, then under-performing heat. The third time was due to plumbing problems. Each time the maintenance people knew all about it, and the front desk professed ignorance. It was laughable. Great location in Midtown. Don't know that we will stay again, though.
Every hotel guest room is big like a 1 bdtm apt. And the bstbroom is large as well It also has a nice bar. This is one of my favorite hotels in NYC.
In General, where I live, this kind of patchwork feel to, the rooms big and comfortable, although a little old. The club lounge is very nice, has a great outdoor balcony (and friendly staff, which we in Japan experienced English best), but limited snacks and no hybrid weapons, although they also there are many kinds of alcohol. Regional is a big disappointment, the island didn't have any of this stuff, this hotel is in a shopping centre the shopping experience more than death women, it has a direct link to a subway station, but mostly because you don't want to go. Maybe for business it doesn't matter, but for casual it's not ideal. Breakfast was disappointing, no good coffee, not enough people, so the impact of the service, the food is satisfactory.
The staff was wonderful at the hotel. The room was large and well appointed. The restaurant featured a nice breakfast buffet and a menu.
If any of you guys are looking for dirt cheap hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site. if you are used to the treatment of Four Seasons, but would like more privacy and not bump into any one you might now, we say go to London. The London NYC, has exceptional plates, that will leave you extremly satisfied, and a soaking tub, as hydro therapy is the new NY. I would give it 5 stars but it would not be fair for the people that will find it pricey, I on the other hand feel it was a bargain and a great deal in Manhattan. Enjoy P. S you will thank me later.

I come to New York every year, and this was my first stay at the London. Never again. The staff were disorganised and unhelpful, and the service was awful. My partner was arriving late in the evening, so I asked for a key to be left at reception for her. I even checked with the manager who assured me there would be no problems. Surprise, surprise, there was no key and I had to rush back from my dinner with clients to let her in. Disgraceful. I spoke to the manager who couldn't care less. We were celebrating an anniversary — most hotels would at least acknowledge it. We got nothing. We moved rooms twice — one person told us our bags would be moved for us while were out, another staff member told us we 'don't move bags'. We ended up moving them ourselves. There was no help with bags either at check in or check out. We were never given a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. I asked for one twice. Never arrived. Every morning the housekeeping staff walked right in and woke us up. The Gordon Ramsey breakfast has no freshly squeezed juice. Even a road side diner has freshly squeezed juice. I stay in 5 star hotels all over the world. This hotel is run like a shoddy motel. They made my stay in New York unpleasant and stressful. Avoid at all costs. I couldn't wait to leave.
We just stayed here two nights as a weekend getaway. The service is top notch and the suites are large by NY standards. Tasteful furnishings and decor that are probably a year or so away from needing a refresh. The room was super clean and the service was awesome. The only downside was the food. We only had breakfast witch was outrageously expensive and so bad that we actually sent it back. It's not the food prices that were so bad but once the service fees were added it was crazy. The location is perfect. Midway between central park and Time Square. We would definitly come back, we just won't eat here. Lots of local food options nearby anyway.
Love the London and will go back. But for years we have been going and the food is always way below par. Room service pancakes took over an hour to get to us and they were cold when they arrived. Restaurant shrimp appetizer crisp on outside put the shrimp were pasty. I don't recommend the food but the rest of the hotel is great!
Is almost at the edge of Central Park and four steps from as cool as the MoMA, Rockefeller Center… With large windows that offer views of the city very good, movie. The restaurant has a lot of fame since it directs Gordon Ramsey. The hotel is very well-both to stay for a weekend of shopping, work (no Wi-Fi) … Comfort, cleanliness. Great!
I've stayed at quite a few luxury hotels and the all-suite The London Hotel is one of my favorites. Located right in the middle of Manhattan in the Theatre District and just a few easy blocks from 5th Avenue and Central Park, the location can't be beat. My suite — which was the hotel's standard offering had a stunning view, a wonderful sitting area and little thoughtful touches that will want to come back again. If you're a modern day gadget girl like me armed with a laptop, iPad, iPhone, a camera and 2 bunch of other electronics, you'll appreciate the fact that they have electrical plug points galore at the work desk and on both of the night stands — all in a beautifully appointed room. The other thing that I love about The London is the the fine dining restaurant by Gordon Ramsay that is perfect for pre-Broadway show romantic dinner, as The London is located in NYC's Theatre district. There is also a bar and cafe on the ground floor which is great for chic conversational meetings. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying here.
It was awful, the entire experience was awful. I was meeting my boyfriend whom I had not seen in 6 months. He lives in London I live in Los Angeles. We thought it would be awesome to spend sometime in New York. I was exited and really looking forward to spending a few days in NYC. As we arrived to the London Hotel we notice how nice the hotel and the room looked. Well the room was not clean we found an old baby bottle. We also had trouble logging into the internet. When I called the front desk the women who answer the phone was not helpful. All she did was transferred me to an outside provider to help me with the internet. The provider didn't know who I was where I was calling from. I was asked to provide hotel information I couldn't provide since I was not a hotel employee I was a guest. Needless to say I never logged into the internet. Very frustrating! The following morning my boyfriend and I decided to have breakfast in the hotels restaurant. Our server William took our order and we waited and waited 45 minuted later we asked how long more would it be? William responded not long now. Then he came back and said "your order was never put through" "If you like you could eat from the buffet" We wore both very hungry we eat from the buffet. William our server never apologized for the inconvenience all he said was you wont be billed for this, very short and rude with us.
Suites are spacious. The north side has a partial view of Central Park. Tip: request for that side of the building. It's worth it. I saw Sting once! Supposedly, his family frequents one of the penthouses.
Service was excellent. Rooms are pretty big compared to a lot of places I have been in midtown. Highly recommend.
The London was very comfortable with nice size rooms. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. I liked having the bedroom separated from the living room area as it gave added privacy. My one complaint would be the lack of ability to get a snack or cup of tea easily late at night as I did not see anywhere in the hotel to buy something. Light. I actually went outside to the Hilton less than a block away to get a cup of tea.
I stayed in the London because the Hilton across the street overbooked my room (despite being a Gold Hilton Honors Member). The London was nice, the staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed my one night stay. I would definitely consider visiting The London again.
Expensive but earned. Good location, 50 + very to recommend bunk for the night view. You again.
Modern NYC-condo style hotel that surpasses all expectations! Must stay here if you like modern hotels and want to live in style. + The room is ultra modern and set up like a NYC apartment. + The bathrooms are modern and spacious. + The location is centrally located in midtown. + Gordon Ramsay has two restaurants on the premises. + They offer a wonderful English afternoon tea.
Great location. Rooms are nice, bed was super comfortable. Was disappointed with the service in the restaurant downstairs.
Very nice hotel, large rooms.
